Value Measurement of Services of 4G IMT- A Systems: A Perspective of Bangladesh Rony Kumer Saha* Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, East West University, A/2, Jahurul Islam Avenue, Jahurul Islam City, Aftabnagar, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Abstract The International Mobile Telecommunication Advanced (IMT-A) is the 4th generation (4G) of mobile communication standards. Since 3rd generation (3G) has not successfully captured the market in many parts of the world and is in the very early stage in Bangladesh, 4G seems to be the emerging technology to address the user needs in Bangladesh. In this paper, the author focuses on the value measurement of services of IMT-A systems in the context of Bangladesh. The value measurement technique is a way to measure the importance of any service or product relative to the cost associated to offer it. The author considers a set of services of IMT-A systems that characterize almost all service classes of IMT-A as recommended by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and measure their viability in terms of their importance relative to the cost. An extensive field survey has been performed over 305 participants from diverse backgrounds in Bangladesh to rank the services. Analysis matrix method criterion has been adopted which shows how the method can be applied for value measurement of IMT-A services. The value indices of the services are depicted clearly in the value graph. Based on the survey analysis, finally, a set of services with high importance but at low cost are proposed to be offered for the upcoming 4G systems in Bangladesh.

Design of a Quadcopter using PID Control Algorithm D. Devaprakash*, P. Anantha Christu Raj Electronics and Instrumentation Department, Karunya University, Tamil Nadu, India Abstract The military use of quadcopter has grown because of its ability to operate in dangerous locations while keeping human operators safe. Here, a low-cost hover control mechanism is developed and implemented on a microcontroller. Flight control becomes simpler as the quadcopter hovers at a constant level from ground by itself, at the same time making it too easy to maneuver at heights and perform tasks such as imaging. A PID control method to obtain stability in flying the quadcopter is designed. The model has four input forces which are basically the thrust provided by each propeller connected to each rotor with fixed angle. By varying the speed of rear and front motors, we can obtain the pitch, roll and yaw motions of the quadcopter. Future improvements can be made to improve the design, to prove that it is possible to produce a small scale UAV that can perform functions of interest to the military as well as commercial and industrial applications.

A Numerical Simulation of Optical Receiver Performance of WDM Signals in a PON M. S. V. Vara Prasad, T. Sireesha, K. Krishna Murthy* P. G. Center, P. B. Siddhardha College, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India Abstract This work presents MATLAB 7.9 model of wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) communication system for evaluating the performance of optical receiver simulation of WDM-PON (passive optical network). This paper attempts to focus on eliminating the channel internal noise due to number of users at different noise power levels, iterations, values of BER (bit error rate) and error count within time elapsed in seconds. Optical communication systems have good speed, accuracy and efficiency. But accuracy of high-speed communication is unstable due to beat noise. By using the MATLAB platform, it is easier and much simpler for understanding the signal flow in the optical receiver of WDM-PON. WDM-PON is the point-to-point connectivity and pair of wavelengths for single user. This network is suitable for present and future generation networks. Keywords: Bit error rate (BER), passive optical network (PON), beat noise, noise power, iteration, error count, channel, users, time elapsed
