Abstract Present clinical study was designed to assess the efficacy of Manyabasti and Sarvangatailadhara in reducing the sign and symptoms of cervical spondylosis. Total 11 patients of cervical spondylosis were registered in the OPD and IPD of Samadhan Panchakarma Hospital, Nagpur, India. They were subjected to the treatment schedule of 15 days. During this period Manyabasti was done for 15 min and Sarvangatailadhara for 30 min by the mixture of Arogya taila, Asthiposhak taila and Indrayani taila.(2:1:1). All these medicated oils were prepared in their own Rasashala as proprietary medicine. Assessment were done with regard to pain, neck movement (flexion and extension) and hand grip strength. These were done before and after the treatment. The results were assessed on the basis of symptomatic improvement using visual analog scale. The study reveals that Manyabasti and Sarvangatailadhara were effective in cervical spondylosis.

Analysis of Docking Study on Protein Neprilysin (Neutral Endopeptidase) Inhibition for Anti-aging Treatment by Aloe Emodin and Aloe Emodin Carbonyl Derivative Ritesh P. Bhole, Ashish N. Sharma*, Sohan S. Chitlange Pad. Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Pimpri, Pune (MS), India Abstract Attempts were made to perform comparative docking study of Aloe emodin and its derivative on Neprilysin (PDB code: 1R1J) by using VLife MDS software to ascertain the activity of both. From all the interactions (Hydrogen bond and vander waals) it was observed that, the common amino acids which interacts with the common ligand were ASN542A, ALA543A, ARG102A, ASN542A, VAL580A. The result showed that the AEC (–1790.15 KCal) showed high total binding energy (ΔG) as compared to AE (–1289.55 KCal). Interactions of AEC reference ligand with protein NEP were studied. The results revels high vander wall bond interaction compared to hydrogen bond among different amino acid. The compound may be the most active anti-aging agent as per Docking results. The compound AEC was most active while compound AE was least active as per docking.

Screening of Some Triterpenoids Isolated from Terminalia arjuna as Inhibitors of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme to Prevent Cardiovascular Diseases Monjur Ahmed Laskar, Manabendra Dutta Choudhury* Bioinformatics Centre, Assam University, Silchar, Assam, India Abstract Natural products have been shown to present interesting biological and pharmacological activities and are used as chemotherapeutic agents. Plants have historically been used in treating cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and are recognized for their ability to produce secondary metabolites. Secondary metabolites obtained from different plants have been the starting material for designing different drugs. Many useful phytoconstituents have been isolated from Terminalia arjuna. Tannins and flavonoids are responsible for its anticancer properties and triterpenoids are mainly responsible for cardiovascular properties. In the present study, we have analyzed the inhibitory potential of triterpenoids, on the Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) - the enzyme responsible for various cardiovascular diseases. The study revealed that some of the triterpenoids have high ACE inhibiting potential and also significant IC 50 values as compared to other known ACE inhibitors.

Analytical Study of An Ayurvedic Herbomineral Formulation: PunarnavaMandura Chhaya Gupta*, C. B. Jha Department of Rasa Shastra, Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, B. H. U., Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India Abstract PunarnavaMandura is a herbomineral formulation commonly used for Pandu roga, in which Mandurabhasma is used as a major ingredient along with powder of twenty herbals in specified proportion. In this study PunarnavaMandura was prepared with reference quoted in BhaishajyaRatnavali. Mandurabhasma was prepared by following the standard parameters of bhasma preparation. To keep similar therapeutic efficacy of a drug, standardization and analytical evaluation is compulsory. So, the prepared PunarnavaMandura was analyzed with physio-chemical parameters like loss on drying, ash value, and acid insoluble ash value along with qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements present in PunarnavaMandura.
