Woodhead Park
Woodhead Park is ideally located and enjoys excellent transport links that make it easy to reach the nearby city of Sheffield and the A1 and the M1, linking the area both North and South.
Nestled in the centre of the lovely village of Deepcar, Woodhead Park offers a sought-after residential scheme comprising of stylish 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes. With its proximity to Stocksbridge, Barnsley and Sheffield, and all of the facilities they have to offer, you’ll enjoy relaxed, sociable living within a thriving local community.
When designing Woodhead Park, we wanted to create a development that was in harmony with its surroundings. Homes here are being built by local tradespeople, using brick and natural stone, and featuring dry stone walls; the external appearance truly reflects the existing local character, resulting in homes that fit beautifully into their surroundings.
The scheme boasts character areas that have their own distinctive, individual character or ‘sense of place’. These areas share a similar appearance creating harmony, spirit, and balance, where you can work, live and play.
The whole development centres around sensitive landscaping and nature, embracing ecology and biodiversity to perfectly celebrate the existing landscape and neighbouring Fox Glen Nature Reserve.
We are proud to be a local house builder, employing local people, supporting local businesses, and bringing investment into the local economy. We have been building homes for over a decade and this experience is evident from the moment you walk into a Stonebridge home, but don’t take our word for it, visit Woodhead Park to discover these lovely new homes for yourself.
Our House, Your Home
A DESIRABLE PLACE TO LIVE with natural beauty at its heart
Deepcar boasts beautiful scenery, with idyllic natural landscapes and thriving wildlife on its doorstep. On the breathtaking Eastern approach to Deepcar, you’ll discover ancient woodland, which in spring is covered by a carpet of bluebells and other wildflowers.
Woodhead Park itself offers many opportunities to further enjoy nature at its best. The West and East boundaries of this scheme will feature high quality planting and meadowstyle grassland that will attract wildlife, bringing people into contact with nature every time they step outside. To the West of Woodhead Park there will be an undisturbed wildlife habitat with restricted public access to allow plants and wildlife to thrive. And to the East, a large area of meadow grassland with wildflowers and species-rich grass.
Trees and hedgerows, shrubs and herbaceous plants feature prominently in the scheme. Hedgehog highways, wildlife crossing points, and bird and bat boxes ensure the development complements the wider landscape. Attractive green spaces, including benches and a library book exchange box for community use, add to the relaxing nature of the development and provide opportunities for people to interact with each other and nature.
Communities have never been more important, and this carefully considered scheme creates a calm, safe place, with green open spaces and natural beauty at its heart. A wellequipped play area to the south of Woodhead Park offers a lovely area for children and parents to meet and with the rest of the development, encourages an active and healthy lifestyle.

STEEPED IN HISTORY yet perfect for modern day living
Deepcar lies to the south-west of the River Don and Little Don River and near to the former junction of the Woodhead Line, and from where the inspiration for the development name has been derived. The railway operated from 1846 to 1959.
It is located on the eastern edge of Stocksbridge town and is renowned by archaeologists worldwide who are interested in its Mesolithic period (Middle Stone Age, c. 9,500BC – 4,000BC). The area also has a potential Romano-British settlement that has been identified near to the riverbanks.
The village and nearby Stocksbridge provide everything you could need for day-to-day life. A village shop, post office, medical centre, pubs, and eateries - there’s even a garage, hairdressers, beauty parlour, sports shop and a vet!
For food lovers there are plenty of opportunities in Stocksbridge with a varied choice of independent food and drink producers. Cafés, pubs, and restaurants cater for all taste buds, from traditional fish and chips to Italian, Indian and Chinese cuisine.
Fox Glen is an Area of Natural History Interest and Local Wildlife Site located to the North of Woodhead Park. Originally called the Clough, it has an interesting history and, after falling into disrepair, and with the help of the local community, has been restored to a thriving woodland full of flora and fauna.
Nearby Fox Valley retail park is home to some lovely independent stores with a bridal salon, family butchers and boutique department store. You’ll also find several high street shops including EE, Jojo Maman Bebe, Holland and Barrett, Aldi, Iceland, Boots and Sports Direct.
The area boasts opportunities for many leisure activities with nearby Stocksbridge offering a golf club, football club, rugby club, tennis club, bowling club and cricket club. Stocksbridge Community and Leisure Centre is one of the largest community run centres in the area with a swimming pool and gym, sports clubs, and a cafe. The nearest cinema is at Penistone, around four miles away.
“In that pleasant district of merry England which is watered by the river Don, there extended in ancient times a large forest, covering the greater part of the beautiful hills and valleys which lie between Sheffield and the pleasant town of Doncaster. The remains of this extensive wood are still to be seen at the noble seats of Wentworth, of Warncliffe Park, and around Rotherham. Here haunted of yore the fabulous Dragon of Wantley; here were fought many of the most desperate battles during the Civil Wars of the Roses; and here also flourished in ancient times those bands of gallant outlaws, whose deeds have been rendered so popular in English song.”

Our House, Your Home SUSTAINABILITY
we take our responsibilities seriously
There are so many reasons to consider investing in a new build property, not least for their energy efficiency, reduced impact on the environment and green credentials.
The Home Builders Federation released a report in 2023 that highlights that in total, new build purchasers are not only saving money, but they are having a positive effect on the environment too, when compared to older properties.
Savings are achieved by using advanced build materials, as new build homes are much more thermally efficient and airtight. We fit modern, double-glazed windows that are highly efficient in terms of insulation that reduces heat loss and saves on energy usage. In addition, we
have worked with an energy consultant to assess and improve the energy efficiency and sustainability of the homes we build. As a result, each house will have its own solar panels as a minimum. Please ask your Sales Advisor about the renewable technologies in your home.
Stonebridge take climate change seriously. At Woodhead Park all properties come with an electric vehicle charging point at no extra cost. The charging point future-proofs your home and allows you to charge your car when it is not in use, in the same way you would a mobile phone.
In addition, 100% of our lights are energy efficient, and our homes include dual-flush toilets.
