박용운 ( Park, Yongwoon ) 내 이름은 박용운 입니다. 내가 이 프로그램을 참여한 이유는 책을 만들어 보기 위하여 입니다. 제 나이는 12살 입니다. 이 책을 함께 만 든 분은 제 누나입니다. 커서 판사, 화가, 곤충학자 등이 되고 싶습니 다. My name is Youngwoon Park. I joined this program because I wanted to make a book. I am 11 years old. My co-author is my older sister. I want to become a judge, a painter, or an entomologist.

대한민국 서울에 살고 있는 한 아이, 무궁화 초등학교에 서 소문난 괴짜, 그 아인 ‘춘미’란 아이였다. 춘미는 수업 에 흥미가 없어 어느 때와 다름없이 단 잠에 빠져있었다. ”어휴~! 시끄러워 저 조잘쌤은 내가 잠 잘 때 너무 말을 많이 한단 말이야!” 춘미는 곧 다시 잠들었다.
There was a girl living in Seoul, the capital city of Korea, a famous geek of the Moogounghwa elementary school, and her name was Chunmi. She was not interested in her class and was sleeping as usual. "Oh, dear. Miss Jojal always talks too much when I try to sleep!" Chunmi woke up for a second and fell asleep again.

'딩동 댕동!' 수업을 마치는 종소리에 춘미는 하품을 하면 서 일어났다. 'Ding-dong!' The class bell rang and Chunmi woke up.

" 아, 드디어 끝났네. 역시 학교는 재미가 없어. 이제 슬슬 내 비밀 아지트로 한번 가 볼까?” 춘미는 신발을 갈아 신기 위해 문 앞으로 갔다. 그런데 춘미 의 신발이 보이지 않았다. “아니! 이럴 수가! 내 신발이 어디 갔지?” 그 때 뒤에서 몰래 실실 웃고 있는 두 명 의 아이들이 있었다. 그 두 명의 아이들이 신발을 가져 간 것이다! 그 아이들이 소곤거렸다. “크크, 괴짜 춘미 를 골탕 먹여주자.” 춘미는 당황했지만 일단 아지트로 가서 생각해 보기로 하고 맨발로 걷기 시작했다. “Ah, finally it is over. School is definitely so boring. Now, shall I go to my secret place?” Chunmi went outside the classroom door to change her shoes. But suddenly, Chunmi realized that her shoes were missing. “Oh, no! I can’t believe it! Where are my shoes?” Behind the wall behind her back, there were two classmates who were quietly laughing. They whispered. “Hehe, let’ s make fun of the geek.” Chunmi was surprised but she tried to stay calm and decided to think about it at her secret place. She started to walk without her shoes.

아지트로 가는 내내 춘미의 머릿속에서 신발 에 대한 생각이 떠나지 않았다. ‘신발 신발 신발 신발 신발…’ 그 때였다. 춘미의 두 눈 에 휴지 박스 무더기가 보였다. On her way to her secret place, Chunmi could not stop wondering what had happened to her shoes. Then suddenly, she saw a pile of tissue boxes.
발이 아파지기 시작했던 춘미는 휴지 박스를 보고 아이디어가 떠올랐다. ‘휴지 박스를 신발로 잠시 신자. 그렇게 하면 발도 안 아프고 발이 더러워지지 않겠지?’ Chunmi’s feet started to hurt. This made her think of a way to stop the pain. ‘Maybe I can wear those boxes to protect my feet from getting hurt and dirty.‘

춘미가 휴지 박스를 신고 걷자 그것을 구경하는 사람이 한 명, 두 명 늘어서 춘미는 금방 많은 사람들에게 둘러 싸였다. 춘미는 '사람들이 다 날 쳐다보네. 히히 네가 좀 패셔니스타니깐...' 이라고 생각하였다. When Chunmi started to walk wearing the tissue boxes, people started to gather around staring at Chunmi. Chunmi thought to herself, ‘Everyone is looking at me. I am such a fashionista!’

하지만, 곧 친구 유라가 말하였다. "야! 사람들이 네 가 신은 휴지 박스 신발 때문에 쳐다 보잖아. 아까 저 거지가 너도 거지라고 생각할꺼야. 에휴, 모양은 또 어쩜 그렇게 촌스럽니!" But soon after her friend Yura came up to her and told her, “Hey! everyone’s looking at you because of your tissue box shoes. There was a beggar, and he would think that you are a beggar too. And look how ugly they are!”

춘미는 친구 유라의 말에 충격을 받아 디자인과 기능을 다시 한 번 구상해 보 았다. 여러 시도와 실패 끝에, 새로운 휴지박스 신발을 만들었다. Shocked by Yura’s comment, Chunmi decided to redesign the tissue box shoes. After many trialand-errors, she came up with a new tissue box shoes.

프랜드 슈즈가 인기가 치솟고 비싸지자, 사람 들은 짝퉁을 만들고, 직접 티슈통으로 신발을 만들어 신기도 했다. Friend Shoes became so popular and expensive that people started to make fake ones or make one on their own using empty tissue boxes at home.

한 편, 춘미는 아니 춘미 사장은 신발 없이 길을 걸을 때 발이 얼마나 아팠는지 유라 부사장에게 이야기 해주고, 무료로 프랜드 신발을 불우한 이웃에게 나누어주자고 제 의를 하였다. Meanwhile, Chunmi, the CEO told Yura, the Vice President about how much it hurted to walk with no shoes. She suggested that Friend Shoes gives out free shoes to poor neighbors.

그 때 부터 춘미는 유라와 함께 한 달에 한 번 프랜드 슈즈를 가난한 사람들에게 무료 로 나누어 주었다. Since then, Chunmi and Yura gave out free Friend Shoes once every month to poor people with no shoes.

글을 마치면서
박수정 선생님께서 너무 친절하시고 도와 주셔서 너무 좋았고, 한 페이지, 한 페이지 그릴 때마다 너무나도 재미 있었습니다. 이 기회가 더 많이 있다면, 계속 하고 싶습니다. Teachers were so kind and helpful. It was fun to draw and color every single page. If there are chance to be part of this program again, I would love to continue doing it.
