I am Yaeyoung Kwon. I go to Seoul Sang-ji elementary school, and I am a fourth grade student. My hobbies are drawing, dancing and listening to music. I want to become a famous entertainer.

I am Namkyung Han. I like knitting. My dream is to become a fashion designer. My weakness is that I am easily tickled. I am a fourth grade student. I will make the coolest story ever.

“매일 반복되는 지긋 지긋한 생활! 그 생활에서 벗어났어! 이젠 자유야!” 4 마리의 고양이가 짐을 싸서 집을 탈출했다. 고양이들은 한 고양이 가 훔친 주인의 차를 타고 친구들과 함께 청정숲을 찾아 여행을 떠났다. “Same old boring days! We finally escaped it! We are free now!” 4 cats packed their carriers and ran away from their houses. They rode a car that one of the cats had stolen from his master and embarked on a journey to find Clean Forest.

고양이들은 가까운 동네 숲에 도착했다. 하지만 그 곳은 너무나도 오염이 되어 잠시도 머물 수 없었다. “으~ 더러워! 이런 곳은 처음 봐. 어서 다른 데로 가자고!” “빨리 와, 링컨!”

The cats arrived at a nearby village forest. But it was too dirty that they couldn’t stay even for a minute or two. “Ewww. So dirty! I’ve never seen a place so dirty like this. Let’s go somewhere else!” “Come on, let’s go Lincoln!” Cats Out | 11
차를 타고 계속 가다 보니 기름이 모두 떨어졌다. “이런! 왜 하필 이때 기름이 다 떨어진 거야! 휴…… 걸아 가야 하는 거야? 이제부터는 많이 힘들겠군……”

After a while, the car ran out of gas. “Oh, no! Why does it have to run out of gas now? Phew… Does this mean we would have to walk from now on? It is going to be hard….”

한참을 걸은 고양이들은 강가에 도착하게 되었다. “이제야 좀 편하네.” 시원한 강가에서 잠시 쉰 후, 고양이들은 다시 청정숲을 찾아 걷기 시작했다. After walking for awhile, the cats arrived at a river. “Now we can take some rest.” After a short rest, the cats started to walk again to find Clean Forest.

“우리가 발견 했어! 이젠 우리도 자유롭게 살 수 있는 거야!” “힘들어……!” 고양이들이 헉헉거리며 말했다. “We found it! Now we can live freely!” “I am so tired…,” said the cats huffing and puffing.

그러나 숲 속의 과일과 사냥할 동물이 다 떨어지자 고양이들은 집을 떠난 것을 후회하기 시작했다. “이젠 행복하고 즐거운 생활도 끝인 것 같아… 에휴.. 먹고 즐길 수 가 없으니 집이 그리워.” However, when all the fruits and animals started to run out, the cats started to regret having had run away from home. “I feel like our happy life is ending. Phew… Without anything to eat and drink, I miss home.”

고양이들은 각자 후회하며 집으로 걸어 돌아갔다. “주인님! 기다려요! 제가 갑니다!” The cats all returned home regretting having had left it in the first place. “Master! Please wait! I am coming!”

글을 마치면서
권예영 (11) 이 이야기를 만드는 동안 그림을 여러 번 지우고 다시 그렸지만, 우리의 그림 실력이 그대로 나타나 있어 정이 간다. 우리가 직접 그림책을 만들 수 있다는 것이 놀랍고, 재미있기도 했다. 때로는 힘들기도 했지만, 우리가 직접 책을 만들었다는 것이 신기했다. 그 리고 예린이 언니는 리더로서 우리 팀을 잘 이끌어, 책을 잘 만들 수 있었고, 남경이는 언니와 내가 힘들 때 웃을 수 있게 해 주었 다. 그래서 이 책은 언니, 나, 남경이가 서로 도와 가며 한 페이지 에도 서로 역할을 나누어서 완성한 책인 것 같다. When we were making this story, we erased our drawings and re-did it many times, but I am fond of it because it shows our real drawings. I was surprised that we can make our own picture book, and it was fun. Sometimes it was hard, but it was amazing when we finally finished making the story. Yaerin did a good job as a group leader, and Namkyung made us laugh when we were stressed. So I think this story is a collaborative work of Yaerin, me and Namkyung where we worked together in completing even just one page.

에필로그
한남경 (11) 이 이야기를 만들 때 참 재미있었어요. 다 만들고 참 뿌듯했어요. 이 책의 좋은 점은 책 안에 그림이 너무 좋아요. 여러분도 직접 한 번 자신의 책을 만들어 보세요 *^^* It was fun making the story. After completing it, I felt very proud. This book contains really good illustration. You should also try making your own book. 안예린 (12) 집이 멀어 차를 타고 힘들게 왔지만 내 재능을 펼칠 소중한 기회가 있어 감사했다. 5학년 여름 방학 동안 내 손으로 친구들과 책을 만 들어서 소중한 추억을 하나 만든 것 같아 매우 기쁘다. 그리고 독자 분들이 책을 읽은 후 자신이 가진 것을 감사하고 자연을 사랑하는 마음이 생겼으면 좋겠다. Although every time, I had to come a long way to get to the Story Kitchen class, I am thankful that I got the opportunity to practice my talents. I am really happy that I feel like I made a precious memory during my 5th grade summer vacation making my own book with friends. I hope that after reading our story, readers would appreciate things that they already have and love nature more.
