News from Fairfield Park Lower School

As you are reading this article we will be beginning our summer holidays and hopefully enjoying the summer sun.

This last half term has been a busy one at Fairfield Park! The children proudly paraded in all their finery, chipping along to the beats in the inaugural Fairfield Park Carnival. All the children experienced different types of carnival-inspired workshop from costume creation to soca aerobics to steel pans and drumming so that they could really be immersed in all things carnival. Rampage MAS band were our specialists who perform in the Luton Carnival and also all over the world. The rainbow parade danced around the school grounds to applause from parents and carers who lined the streets and those lucky enough to be allocated tickets for the showcase performance. It was a fantastic opportunity for children to experience such a rich cultural experience.

We were very excited to invite Sean Rose, a paralympic athlete, into our school at the end of June! He ran a sponsored fitness circuit with the children, which involved spotty dogs, star jumps, press ups and mountain climbers! After this he hosted an assembly to all the children where they found out all about his inspirational achievement!

We’ve also enjoyed seeing the children and families come together for sports days and our annual talent competition –Fairfield’s Got Talent.

Have a safe and happy summer holiday. We wish our Year 4 Leavers lots of luck at their new middle schools and look forward to welcoming everyone else back to school after the summer break.
