News from St Mary’s Academy
Following a very busy Summer term, we said goodbye to our Year 4 children. They enjoyed their adventure themed activity event and celebrated their last few days with a special church service, disco, talent show and Leaver’s Assembly with parents invited on the last day of term. We wish them all the very best in their new schools. We also enjoyed a number of whole school activities including our wonderful trip to Woburn Safari Park, as well as Writing and Creative Arts weeks. The children have had such a lovely time with many new experiences!
Our Olympic Sports Week was packed with games, races, competitions, contests, tournaments and training! It was great fun and a huge success with the children and we managed to work around the Great British Weather! It was great to be able to welcome our families in to spectate once again. As always there are lots of pictures on the website to view!

As a school we are also very proud of our fundraising efforts in conjunction with our parent's association, the SMSA. Despite the events of the last few years our families have helped us raise just under £700.00 towards Children In Need, Save the Children and Comic Relief as well as over £7000.00 towards school funds from the SMSA. This funding has helped towards school events, a new outdoor classroom, IT equipment and various school resources. We have also received a number of very kind donations from members of our community.
Many thanks go to our staff, volunteers, community and families for their continued support without which this would not have been possible.
So to end this academic year, we hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable summer break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 5th September.
