Writer Edward Grinnen has commented that “tomorrow is always uncertain. ” So how do we face the unknown future? Sooner or later, we will all come to a place where we have to commit ourselves, our loved ones, our past and our future, our hopes and dreams, our memories and our imaginings—we have to commit it all to God. We will all have to trust God. We will all come to the place of surrender.

It is not easy to surrender everything to God. The word ‘surrender’ suggests weakness, defeat, and hopelessness. It means to give up. It means to stop fighting. It means to come to the end of ourselves. For most of us, that’s not a comfortable place to be. But when it comes to peace with God, surrender is necessary. But rather than being a symbol of weakness it becomes the access point to a new strength, a new courage, a new identity, a new nobility, a new purpose—and a new relationship with God. Peace with God is not merely the cessation of hostilities, but the embracing of a whole new life, a new identity.
Here is Grinnen’s quotation in full:

The one thing I know about tomorrow, the one single thing I know with the utmost certainty, is that God will be there. God is with me today, tomorrow and forever, to guide me through angst and uncertainty. I am in the hands of a power so much greater than my fear, greater even than any harm that can come to me. ”
God invites to seek him out, to follow after him, not because of the things he can give us or the things he can do for us, but because we desire him, because we want to know him and enjoy him. Speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, God said “If you seek me you will find me if you seek me with all your heart. ” When God gives us peace, he gives himself.May you all know the comforting presence and the life-changing power of God in your lives.
