News from St
Mary’s Academy
January was a quiet start to the New Year with the ever present and ever changing COVID numbers and regulations. We did have big plans for our Year 4s to attend the huge O2 Young Voices Concert however this has been postponed to the Summer Term and we should have a date confirmed imminently.
Our younger children have been busy though, with the Foundation children enjoying a Goldilocks Breakfast morning in their pyjamas as part of their Bears topic and our Year 1s walking around Stotfold and making muffin pizzas as part of their Geography and English studies. Our school clubs are all well under way as the children settle back into the new term. Also during February our children will be participating in several multi skills sports sessions. These should be enjoyable events for all those participating so look out for further details in our ParentMail newsletters and in bookbags. Our much anticipated annual Creative Arts week has been postponed until the Summer Term, however our Foundation team plan to hold an arts week before Half Term based around the topic of London. We look forward to seeing their creative projects!
Jet Class will hold their Assembly on Wednesday 9th February so we look forward to this. At the current time we are unable to invite our parents and close relatives to attend and enjoy and if this is still the case we will of course video the assembly and put this on our website as well as send this to our families via Dojo. Our parent's association, SMSA, have a number of planned events moving forward so we look forward to sharing these with our families and the community once dates have been agreed. Our last day of this half term is Friday 11th February, with school resuming on Monday 21st for six busy weeks to take us up to Easter.
