WELCOME! Welcome to Saint Patrick Catholic School’s Wolfhound Weeks Summer Programs! Our goal is to provide a fun, safe environment where students can learn and grow. We offer programs for rising PK4 students through 8th grade students in the areas of fine arts, theater, sports, academics, leadership, and other specialty programs. Students who attend camps can look forward to acquiring new skills, discovering talents, improving knowledge and exploring new experiences. Please contact Mark Ryan with any questions. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT Early registration is encouraged. Camp sizes are limited. Families are encouraged to register online where payment can be made using a credit card or e-check. Payment in full, including Before and After Care, is due with your registration. Visit www.stpcs.org. REFUNDS, TRANSFERS, AND WITHDRAWALS A refund will only be given if requested in writing more than two weeks prior to the start of the session in which the camper is enrolled. Twenty percent (20%) of the camp fee is nonrefundable. Campers withdrawn less than two weeks prior to the start of camp are responsible for the full tuition. In the event of an injury or illness, a doctor’s note will be required and a refund (minus 20%) will be given. Transfers are permissible up to two weeks prior to the start of camp. CAMP CANCELLATIONS Saint Patrick Catholic School reserves the right to modify any camp or cancel camps with insufficient enrollment. If a camp is cancelled by the school, a full refund will be given or may be applied to another camp. In the event that Saint Patrick Catholic School must close one day for an unforeseen event (i.e., inclement weather), no refunds will be given. EXTENDED CARE The Extended Care program provides parents with extended hours of care. Before Care opens at 7:30 am and After Care is available until 5:30 pm. Crafts and games are available during this time, and campers are asked to bring a snack.

Pre-Registration is required to ensure adequate staffing. Request for extended care enrollment within the two weeks prior to camp may be denied. Register online at www.stpcs.org. Payment for Extended Care is accepted in the form of check or credit card and is expected at the time of registration. Extended Care services begin the week of June 18th and run through August 10th. All programs are closed July 4th.

FORMS Prior to the start of camp, each camper must have a Medical Form on file. A Pick-Up Authorization Form must be provided as well. Additions and deletions can be made by logging into your camp account. They must be completed and returned by the first morning of camp. MEDICATION If a camper needs to take medication during the camp day, parents must contact the Director of Summer Programs. A separate form will be sent to the parent for specific instructions and a doctor’s authorization. This form and the medication must be given to the Director of Summer Programs. This includes, but is not limited to, EpiPens and inhalers. LUNCH All full-day campers are asked to bring a lunch and two snacks. Half-day campers are asked to bring a snack. All lunches and snacks should be labeled with the camper’s name. There will be no refrigerator available for camper use. FOOD ALLERGIES Saint Patrick Catholic School cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment for students with food allergies. Our goal is to minimize the exposure to allergens that pose a risk to those students. In this vein, we ask that all snacks/lunches be peanut and tree nut free. HAWAIIAN SNO The Hawaiian Sno truck will visit Wolfhound Weeks every Thursday this summer! All campers will have the opportunity to visit the truck for a cool treat. The cost is included in all camp registration fees. DAILY SIGN-IN & SIGN-OUT Parents must accompany their camper(s) through the black side gate off Westmoreland Avenue to sign-in and sign-out their camper(s) each day. Parents may drop off their camper(s) 15 minutes prior to the start of camp without enrolling in Before Care. Campers who remain 15 minutes past the conclusion of their camp will be enrolled in, and charged for, After Care.


CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT Please label all clothing and equipment with the camper’s name. Saint Patrick Catholic School is not responsible for any lost clothing or equipment. All campers attending athletic camps should wear proper athletic attire (i.e., tennis shoes). All campers are required to wear closed-toed shoes. LOST & FOUND There will be a lost and found located in the Dining Hall. Camp leaders will place any items left at camp in this location. ABSENCE NOTIFICATION If your camper is going to be absent, please call (757) 213-0855 or email Mark Ryan at mryan@stpcs.org. Please include the date he or she will be absent, your child’s name, and the specific camp(s) in which he or she is enrolled so that their camp counselor can be informed. LATE ARRIVALS AND SPECIAL PICK-UP DURING CAMP HOURS Any camper arriving late to camp must be brought to the main office by a parent, guardian, or family member. Any student leaving during camp hours must be picked up by an authorized person in the main office. Advanced notice of early departures is greatly appreciated. You may inform the Director of Summer Programs in writing/email of early departures. SUMMER SOUVENIR All campers will receive a Wolfhound Weeks keepsake for attending a summer program with us!

Pup Academies Our Pup Academies program offers two different options each week for Rising PK4- Rising Kindergarten campers. They are flexible in that parents can choose a half or full-day program. Pup Academies will focus on a different and exciting theme each week and daily activities will reflect the week’s theme. Campers will participate in a variety of activities in the morning, including sports, fine arts, reading, math, crafts, and creative play. In the afternoon, campers will have rest/quiet time, playground play, and additional thematic activities. Rising PK4 students must turn 4 years old by September 30, 2018. All Pups must be fully toilet trained. Below are the times and fees for each session (unless otherwise noted): Session

Be it additional support to strengthen skills, enrichment work to challenge your child’s brain, or one-on-one help with a teacher to work through summer reading assignments, we can accommodate your child’s needs. Pup Academy: Blast Off Through Summer! Session

Join us for a week of soaring through outer space as we put on our space suit and helmet and explore the planets, stars, sun, moon, asteroids, comets and more! We will learn more about our universe through stories, arts, crafts, and songs. What makes each planet special? What makes some stars shine so bright? What makes the moon change? How do astronauts survive in outer space? All these questions and more will be answered as we blast off for a week of fun and learning!

Little Dribblers focuses on helping children build strong physical, intellectual and emotional skills that will help them be successful on and off the basketball court. We believe in teaching children in ways that suit their developmental level. Our program is specifically designed to create an atmosphere that is effective and exciting. Campers will be happy, fun, and sweaty—and eager to keep coming back for more. Our coaches will thrill your child with highly creative, energizing and age-appropriate activities. Mary Poppins jumped into a painting with Jane and Michael and sure had a wonderful adventure, so join fellow campers as we jump feet first into the colorful world of master artists. Visit the cool water lily ponds of Monet, smell Van Gogh’s gorgeous sunflowers, gaze upon a starry night, and throw paint like Pollock. Each day campers will learn about each featured artist and have the opportunity to work in the same medium and materials. As Pablo Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist.” Pup Academy: Excavate! Session

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superhero Camp! The Wolfhound-Signal Light has been activated and we are calling all superhero girls and boys to this week of good citizenship. Join us as we learn to jump tall buildings in a single bound, create our own secret superhero identities, and join forces to use our special powers to do good in our community.


Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughter’s 11th Annual Lemonade Stand fundraiser. Campers will create a business plan, design and build a stand, and make lots of lemonade to sell! We will also focus on the importance of serving others in all aspects of life throughout the week. All proceeds will go directly to CHKD’s cancer program which serves patients right here in Hampton Roads. Come have fun for a good cause! Pup Academy: Let It Go! Session

Who wouldn’t want to be Elsa and Anna for a week? Campers will reenact the story of Frozen through the use of creative movement and ballet. A craft will be incorporated each day and there will be a short performance for the parents at the end of the week. The children will need to wear a leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Get out your tutu and start twirling! Let your child’s inner princess shine as they learn to tippy toe and pirouette their way across the floor to classic fairy tale music from Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and more. Learn ballet basics including barre work and center technique while using props, role playing, and imagination to aid in personal expression and creativity. There will be an emphasis on technique, movement vocabulary, choreography, stretching, and

Campers will learn how powerful and FUN teamwork can be when we work with more than just ourselves!

It’s a dirty job…but somebody has to do it! Join fellow campers for a messy, wet, and wild week of learning as we explore the jobs that require you to get your hands dirty. Ever wonder what it takes to fix a leaky pipe? Build a house? Recycle? Campers will have the opportunity to work with materials, and meet community helpers that actually do some of these jobs! Let’s have fun in the dirt!

Learning about history is groovy again when exploring objects and materials from “back in the day.” Campers will experience the fun of various decades with items such as record turntables, typewriters, rotary phones and much more! The pros at Soccer Shots® return with this uniquely designed program that will introduce soccer to your child in a fun, safe, and creative environment. Our innovative lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and tailored to the specific ages of the children in our sessions. Each soccer session includes: instruction in basic soccer skills, fun games, and healthy competition. We emphasize character-forming lessons such as fair play, individual concentration, cooperation, and encouragement that each child can learn and apply both on and off the field. Calling all aspiring chefs! Do you like to create in the kitchen? Are you constantly asking your parents to bake a cake or help with dinner? Are you curious about how to cook? Attend Kids in the Kitchen cooking camp to learn about new tastes, techniques, and recipes from our very own chefs, Ms. Toya, Ms. Rana, and Ms. Pearl. The chefs will take participants on a journey of cuisines and cooking styles over the course of the week. Your budding chef is sure to come home with a strong passion to share their knowledge! Campers can look forward to a daily snack consisting of their own creations and opening a restaurant to share their culinary masterpieces. YUMMY!

Explore all aspects of a musical production including Broadway style dance, singing, acting, choreography, staging, and costuming! Campers will present their production on the last day of camp! Ready to build robots? Integrating engineering, technology, computer science, and math, Sylvan Robotics Camp gives students the skills to begin to understand information-based technology for the future. Campers will work with a buddy to build and program LEGO® robots. They will use simple machines such as levers, pulleys and wheels & axles to create movement in their bots. They will learn how to program their robots to move, make sounds and respond to sensors! Students will build intricate designs like a Ferris wheel, a moon rover and even a few crazy zoo animals! Campers develop critical thinking skills, problem solving strategies, and how to collaborate to express their creativity.

STPCS is once again partnering with Old Dominion University to present “Leadership University,” a camp promoting leadership skills and developing teamwork through various critical thinking, technical skills and athletic challenges. Activities will help campers develop attributes such as integrity, trust, communication, respect, diversity, dependability and creativity. These skills will be attained through cooperative activities co-led by Old Dominion University students and faculty. Leadership University will take place on ODU’s campus; campers will be taken by bus to ODU from Saint Patrick Catholic

WEEK 1

Girls on the Run will inspire your daughter to be joyful, healthy and confident through a variety of creative and interactive activities. In the morning, girls will explore life skills topics through physical activity, collaborative games and creative expression, including writing, acting and art. In the afternoon, the group will engage in a community impact to improve the oysters and wildlife ecosystems in tributaries to the Elizabeth and Lafayette Rivers. The camp will culminate with a celebratory event Friday afternoon in which families can share in the girls’ accomplishments by joining them in a one-mile fun run and a creative showcase of their original work from the program. Girls will gain skills to navigate their world, improve their health and confidence, make friends, have fun and contribute to their community. Camp fees include all supplies, healthy snacks, t-shirt, water bottle, journal, and a jewelry gift at the close of camp. Girls pack their own lunch.

We will travel to a new place in Hampton Roads each day and pack in a full day of exciting activities. Children learn through teamwork, subject immersion, and open-ended discovery. Campers need to bring a water bottle, snack and lunch daily.

Come polish your basketball skills and learn new ones with our very own Coach Efrem Johnson! Campers will focus on playing offense and defense, as well as play many tournaments throughout the week. Your child will be introduced to drills that teach proper ball handling, shooting, passing techniques and much more! Campers will work hard with competitions and drills that will challenge their skills, while having a ton of fun! Hound Club Session

Finally, a camp that has something for everyone! Come spend the day with fellow campers as we stay active, get creative, and learn new things. Campers will remain engaged and excited each day while participating in various sports, scavenger hunts, educational activities, crafts and games. Camp concludes with an adventure outdoor water day on Friday. Campers need to wear athletic attire and tennis shoes, and bring a water bottle and snack.

Ballerinas on Broadway: A Ballet & Jazz Dance Camp Session

Get out your tutu and your jazz hands and let’s start moving! Learn ballet and jazz dance basics so you can pirouette and chassé your way across the floor with style and grace. Students will discover choreography from classical ballet pieces AND learn funky jazz choreography set to both Broadway hits and contemporary music. There will be an emphasis on technique, movement vocabulary, choreography, improvisation, and having fun! This camp is open to both beginner and advanced ballet and jazz dancers. Come learn the basics or build on what you know! Our skilled instructors will work with you at your level. Students will have the chance to perform a routine for parents on the last day of camp!
