الفريق الكويتي المتأهل للمرحلة النهائية في «آراب غوت تالنت» في أول ظهور لفريق «شياب» على مسرح «آراب غوت تالنت» وقد نالوا شعبية واسعة على مختلف شبكات التواصل اإلجتماعي ،وقد أعادت إلى أذهان الجمهور الفرقة الكويتية اإلستعراضية للعصر الذهبي للفرق الكويتية القديمة التي أصبحت من التراث .ولم يقتصر تفاعل الجمهور على شبكات التواصل اإلجتماعي فقط بل تعدى ذلك إلى نيل رضى لجنة التحكيم المكونة من نجوى كرم وأحمد حلمي وناصر القصبي وعلي جابر والتي من الصعب إرضائهم جميعًا .وتمكن كل من أليخاندرو وروميو ومرشييقو للتأهل في المرحلة النصف نهائية وصو ُال إلى المرحلة النهائية المقرر إقامتها في السابع من ديسمبر القادم. وللتعرف أكثر على «الشياب» التقتهم مجلة STUDENTALKوأجرت معهم الحوار التالي.
من هم شياب؟ نحن ببساطة ثالث «شياب» و»نحب احلياة» ،روميو ،أليخاندرو ،ومرشييقو. كيف جاءت فكرة المشاركة في برنامج «آراب غوت تالنت»؟ إليخاندرو :مل أسعى للمشاركة يف برنامج بهدف احلصول على الربح املايل بل أنني أرغب باحلصول على السيارة. روميو :عندما سمعنا عن هذا الربنامج الذي يدعم املواهب ويقدم الكثري من املغريات للمتسابقني قررنا املشاركة لهدف واحد وهو احلصول على «الكاش». مرشييقو :من جهة شخصية أنا أخالف رأي كل من روميو وإليخاندرو ألن هديف من املشاركة يف الربنامج هو احلصول على الشهرة عربية. كيف تلقيتم الدعم من الكويت؟ أليخاندرو :مل يبخل اجلمهور الكويتي بشكل خاص واخلليجي والعربي بشكل عام بالتصويت لنا ودعمنا خالل التصفيات النصف نهائية. روميو :من وجهة نظري كان تواصل اجلمهور على حسابنا اخلاص على «االنستغرام» والتعليقات اإليجابية التي قدمت لنا الكثري من الدعم. مرشييقو :أكرث ما أسعدنا وكان مبثابة دعم لنا كفريق شياب تعليقات ودعم الناس على خمتلف شبكات التواصل اإلجتماعي. ما هي طموحاتكم في هذا المجال؟ أليخاندرو :أمتنى أن تتسنى لنا الفرصة لنقوم بتقدمي حفالت شهرية أو سنوية متواصلة. روميو« :ولهنا» على ماضي الكويت ولدي رغبة شديدة يف أن نرجع إىل هذا املاضي املتميز بالفن اإلستعراضي من فرق موسيقية ،كوميدية وإستعراضية. مريشييقو :أنا طموحاتي بسيطة وكل ما أرغب به هو رسم البسمة على وجوه الناس من خالل العروض التي نقدمها. ما هي أبرز الصعوبات التي واجهتكم؟ أليخاندرو :الصعوبات متثلت يف خلق أفكار جديدة لتقدميها يف العروض. روميو :إدارة الفريق أمر ليس بالسهل على اإلطالق خاصة أننا ثالثة «شياب» ولكل منا رأيه اخلاص. مرشييقو :أليخاندرو وروميو «يرنفزووووين».

A COLLECTION OF BEAUTIFUL POEMS The author of “Watzhername”, Quamar Al-Mumin, has published her first book that comprises of the collection of poems written in different styles. Her poetry is derived from several experiences she encountered or witnessed. STUDENTALK Magazine had the opportunity to know more about Al-Mumin’s writings and her experience through this interview.
Introduce yourself to STUDENTALK readers? My name is Quamar Al-Mumin and I am the author of “Watzhername” a collection of poems written in different styles, revolving around experiences that I have either been through, or have heard about/witnessed.
When did you start writing poetry? I don’t have a specific time, but I remember writing short stories since I was in elementary school. I used to love reading fictional books as a kid, so most of my early work resembled Harry Potter. As I grew older and my taste in books broadened and so did my writing. Before I started writing poetry, I used to write lyrics. I’d come up with a beat or a rhythm and then come up with a chorus and a few verses, with time, my lyrics turned into poetry.
What inspired you to publish your book? One of my dreams has always been to publish a book and have the world appreciate it. A lot of my poems have hidden meanings and messages. I believe these messages should be heard by as many as possible, especially in this society. The voice of young women especially has not been taken seriously. I’d like to see that change, maybe if I’m lucky, my book might shake things up for this generation.
Who provided you with the essential support for “Watzhername”? My publishing agency is Nova Plus for Publishing and Distribution. They are truly amazing at what they do, the writers working with them are like one big family, always looking out for each other and it shows that they genuinely want every writer to succeed.
Did you face any obstacles while trying to publish your book? The biggest issue I had to face was trying to get the publishing agency, who did not accept English writers before, to agree to publish my work even though it was in English. I had to find a way to speak to the owner by joining a workshop that he was teaching. After reading a few pieces I wrote, he gave me the green light and the exception to publish my book in his company.
What are your future plans? Hopefully, I’ll try to publish a book every year, next year it will either be a collection of short stories or a science-fiction novel. I will also be writing for a new magazine owned by GUST’s Media Club.

AUK Professor, Mohsen Bagnied, Discusses the Economic Implications of the Arab Spring Dr. Mohsen Bagnied, Chair of the Department of Marketing and Management, College of Business and Economics, presented his latest research contribution in the 2013 Inaugural International Conference on Leadership, Management and Strategic Development. The conference was organized by the Global Institute for Leadership and Management Development on May 13-15 at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) in Saint Thomas. In his paper, “Economic Implications of the Arab Spring: A Framework for Future Development”, Dr. Bagnied and Dr Mark Speece (the co-author of the paper) proposed a framework that guides policy in the Arab Spring countries toward sustainable development and economic reform.

Former U.S. Congressman visits GUST John Boccieri, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2009 – 2011, visited GUST on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 to talk about “The President and the Congress: Political Impasse and Cooperation”. The talk was jointly organized by the A. M. Al-Refai Library and the Center for Global Studies at GUST in collaboration with the American Embassy in Kuwait. The attendees included a large number of students, faculty and staff members.

Dr. Mohammed Nuruzzaman introduced the guest speaker to the audience and moderated the talk. Boccieri, a ‘Democrat’ by beliefs and convictions, shared his political insights, electoral campaign skills that could win voters’ hearts and minds, and personal political experiences in Congress. Talking about his moderate family background of Italian origin, he candidly communicated to the audience the story of his political rise to U.S. Congress. Students found the talk very interesting and were highly impressed with Boccieri’s interactive style of presentation and discussion, which mainly focused on the relationships between the U.S. President and Congress.

لوياك يسلم الطلبه شهادات اتمام البرنامج الصيفى 2013 أقام لوياك حفل تسليم شهادات الربنامج الصيفي 2013ألكرث من 600طالب وطالبة امتوا الربنامج ،وبحضور رئيس جملس اإلدارة فارعة السقاف وعضوات جملس ادارة لوياك واملدير العام فيصل الهارون . وألقت السقاف كلمة أعربت من خاللها عن سعادتها بتخريج دفعة جديدة ،وقالت نحن يف لوياك نكرر دائمًا ونقول أن أحد أهم أسباب جناحنا هو إدراكنا ألهمية العمل اجلماعي وقدرتنا على فهم معادلة املنفعة املتبادلة ذلك ألننا نعلمه للشباب من خالل العديد من الربامج التي تهدف لتطوير مهارات القيادة والتواصل. من بعدها قام الهارون بتقدمي عرض عن إجنازات الشباب خالل الربنامج باإلضافة إىل أعمال اللجان التطوعية ومبادرات الشباب وبرامج لوياك املستقبلية والتى ستجذب عدد أكرب من الشباب ،وأعلن الهارون عن نتيجة املسابقة التى تقام سنويا بني مراكز التطوع اخلارجية والتى فاز فيها باملركز األول مركز اخلرافى ألنشطة األطفال املعاقني ،واملركز الثاين اجلمعية الكويتية لرعاية املعاقني ،كما فاز فريق عبري 2التطوعى لذوى اإلعاقة الذهنية باملركز الثاين مكرر ،واملركز الثالث فاز به معهد برادايس للتدريب االهلى والثالث مكرر جمعية الهالل االحمر الكويتي .

نظرتك لآلخر...من أي زاوية؟ من صفات الكائن البشري وجود عالقات بينه وبين اآلخرين ومن األفضل تسميتها بالعالقات البشرية بغض النظر من كونها عالقات إيجابية أو سلبية، إن وجود الجماعة البشرية يعني بالضرورة وجود تفاعل إجتماعي سواء كان في المدرسة أو الجامعة أو العمل أو حتى في المجتمع المحلي بغض النظر إذا كانت هذه الجماعة صغيرة العدد أم كبيرة .ومن البديهي أن يكون بعض أفراد هذه المجموعات في بؤرة العمل الجماعي أي دورهم أساسي في التفاعل اإلجتماعي وبعضهم يرضى لنفسه أن يكون هامشيًا مع كونه ضمن الجماعة .لكن هناك عدد كبير من األشخاص يحدد عالقته وصداقته مع اآلخرين بناء على أمور محددة ال يستغنى عنها ،نتابع رأي الطلبة في كيفية إخيتار شبكتهم اإلجتماعية وما هي األمور التي تؤثر على إختياراتهم عند القيام بذلك. يؤكد الطالب خالد عامر (كلية ادارة األعمال 19 -سنة) أنه عند قيامه بالتعرف على من حوله ،هناك عدة أشياء متثل األساسيات يف احلكم على العالقة بالطرف اآلخر ،إما أن تصبح صداقة حميمة أو زمالة أو ال يتعدى ذلك إال موقف واحد ،وتلك االشياء هي الدين والعقيدة فال بد أن يكون مسلم و من نفس الطائفة .فضال عن التمتع بحسن اخللق ،إىل جانب وجود التقارب اإلجتماعي والتعليمي (اذا انا حضري أو بدوي) (شيعي أو سنّي) ،ألنه إذا كان من نفس بيئتي فهذا سيكون له األثر األكرب يف تطور العالقة بيننا لتصبح قوية ومتينة.
خالد عامر ومن جهته يشري الطالب حممد سعد (ادارة اعمال – اجلامعة املفتوحة19 - سنة) بأنه بطبيعته شخصية غري اإجتماعية ،وال يرغب بتغيري معارفه من األصدقاء الذين اعتدت عليهم علي ،فأبي كويتي وأمي بحرينية واعتادو ّ وترعرعت يف البحرين فكونت صداقات ومعارف هناك ،وعندما انتقل للعيش يف الكويت مل أرغب يف التعرف على ناس جدد ،فأنا حمتفظة بأصدقائي القدامى فقط ،ألين أهتم أن تك،ن شبكة صداقات من نفس حميط تربيتي وعاداتي وتقاليدي وديني لوجود الراحة النفسية وسهولة التعايش معهم. 33
ومن وجهة نظر الطالب حمد عبدالرحيم (ادارة اعمال – 20سنة -اجلامعة مر عليه املفتوحة) أنه ليس كل إنسان ّ يف حياته له أثره يف شخصيته ،فهناك من مير علينا مرور الكرام دون أن تقوى العالقة فيها ،وتلك الفئة من الناس ال أهتم بالتعرف عليهم ألن ذلك لن يغري من العالقة شيء ،أما من اختاره شخصًا قريبًا يل ويكون فعال الصديق الصدوق فأهم حمور هو أن نتبادل الثقة بشكل كبري ،إىل جانب التفاهم والوفاق يف األفكاروتبادل اإلحرتام. حممد سعد ويشري الطالب حسن علي (هندسة مدنية -جامعة الكويت – 21سنة) أنه ال يعري اهتماما باألشخاص الذي يتعرف عليهم أن يكونوا من نفس اجلنسية أو الطائفة بل يؤكد على مبدأ األخالق إىل جانب الراحة النفسية ،سواء كان زميل عمل أو حتى أحد األقرباء ،ليكون هناك تفاعل صادق الذي يولد بعد ذلك صداقة حميمة وعزيزة ال نستغني عنها< ويتابع، حتى اليوم أنا على صلة قوية بأصدقاء عمري منذ الطفولة ألنهم (ال يعوضوا) مرت علينا سنني طويلة من شد فقد ّ وجذب وتفاعل يف احلياة ،لكن الوم إصبح هناك تفاعل ،فهم فيما بيننا فض ًال عن وجود النضج يف العالقة.

وكان رأي حممد عبدالسالم (ادارة اعمال – اجلامعة املفتوحة – 20سنة) ال يستطيع أحد العيش منفردًا ،فأنا على معرفة واسعة بأناس عدة خمتلفني من حيث اجلنسية والديانة واألصل ،وذلك ألن العامل أصبح قارة صغرية فتوجب علينا فتح باب التعرف على ثقافات الدول
حممد عبدالسالم األخرى من حولنا .ومن خالل عالقاتي ال أفرق بني صديق أو زميل إال باألخالق احلميدة والذوق يف التعامل معي ،وأنا أحرص على تكوين الكثري من الصداقات واملعارف يف جميع مراحل حياتي.

هل واجهت قصص مأثرة؟ هناك الكثري من العائالت التي تعاين من الفقر الشديد ورمبا تعيش حتت خط الفقر، ومن الطبيعي أن تصادفنا العديد من القصص املؤثرة لكن هناك طالبة متفوقة يف الدراسة الثانوية وحصلت على جمموع عايل ولديها الرغبة الشديدة يف تكملة دراستها اجلامعية إال أن ظروف أسرتها املادية صعبة جدًا ،فقام والدها بتجميع مبلغ صغري حتى تلتحق بالفصل الدراسي األول يف جامعة خاصة على الرغم من أنه غري قادر على دفع املصاريف اجلامعية لتحصيلها اجلامعي. هل تعتقد هناك ثقافة في التعامل مع عمال النظافة في الكويت؟ لألسف هناك أشخاص يطلقون إسم «زبال» على عامل النظافة لكن احلقيقة تقول أنه موظف يجب إحرتامه كأي موظف آخر وعدم التقليل من شأنه. ما هي مشاريعكم المستقبلية؟ نحن بصدد توسيع حملتنا التطوعية وبالتايل سيتطلب ذلك فتح باب للتطوع وتنظيم جلنة نسائية وسيكون الباب مفتوح أمام اجلميع من كافة اجلنسيات. كما لدينا خطة لزيارة دار العجزة وفئة اإلحتياجات اخلاصة كدعم معنوي وإنساين كما أننا سبق وقمنا بزيارة ملستشفى سرطان األطفال. ما هو مشروعكم الحالي ؟ نحن بصدد جتهيز كسوة الشتاء إىل 1000عامل ،وتبلغ تكلفة الكسوة الواحدة 5دنانري. كيف يتم التواصل مع الناس؟ على الرغم من أن أعضاء اجملموعة حرصوا أال نقوم بنشر األعمال التطوعية إال أننا اتفقنا إىل حاجة تعريف الناس على مشروع «إحياء البسمة» من خالل حساب احلملة على اإلنستجرام @.ehyaaalbasma وللراغبني بالتربع ميكنهم اإلتصال على الرقم .97914863 ما هي الصعوبات التي واجهتكم؟ رمبا كان توقيت توزيع وجبات اإلفطار يف شهر رمضان ،فض ًال عن الصعوبات يف البداية بجمع املبالغ املادية لتسديد كافة املبالغ املطلوبة لألعمال اخلريية. كيف يتم تنظيم العمل؟ نقوم بتنظيم جدول لتسهيل األعمال التي نقوم بها وألن التطوع عمل إنساين ونحن قمنا بإخيتاره.

حملة «إحياء البسمة» مبادرة فردية من طالب كويتين لمساعدة المحتاجين
رئيس الحملة عبد الرحمن العبد الجليل نحرص على
مساعدة المحتاجين من كافة الجنسيات الطالب الجامعي عبد الرحمن العبد الجليل ،مؤسس الحملة التطوعية «إحياء البسمة» بالتعاون مع 8شباب من طلبة الجامعات هدفهم تقديم يد العون والمساعدة المعنوية والمادية للفئات المحتاجة في الكويت سواء كانت من األسر المتعففة أو العمال من دون النظر إلى الجنسية أو الدين أو اللون .التقت مجلة STUDENTALKمع مؤسس الحملة للتعرف أكثر على األعمال التطوعية ومشاريعهم المستقبلية. ما هي الجهات التي تقدموا لها التبرعات؟ الفقراء واحملتاجني فقط بغض النظر عن اجلنسية أو الدين أو املذهب. ولدينا ثالثة مشاريع نعمل عليها على مدار السنة ،وتنقسم إىل مشروع دائم وشهري وموسمي .املشروع الدائم هو مشروع أسبوعي نقوم بتوزيع وجيات اإلفطار على العمال ونقوم بالتجول على مناطق كويتية حتى يتم توزيع كافة الوجبات .والفئة الشهرية تتمثل بتقدمي معونة شهرية للعائالت احملتاجة ما بني 10-15عائلة حيث بعض منهم مدخولهم الشهري كحد أقصى 100دينار وأقل أسرة مكونة من ستة أشخاص وال تسد حاجتهم فض ًال عن أن املنازل التي يقطنون بها غري صاحلة للسكن. أما املشروع املوسمي هو عبارة عن موسم رمضان وكسوة الشتاء ولكل مشروع موسمه لذلك يتم تنظيم الوقت بناء على ذلك. ماذا تتضمن وجبة اإلفطار األسبوعية؟ الوجبة التي نقوم بتوزيعها أسبوعيا هي وجبة متكاملة عبارة عن نوعني من الفاكهة ،وساندويش لإلفطار وعصري .ونحرص على أن نقوم بتوزيع الوجبات يومًا يف األسبوع يف ساعات الفجر ألنه الوقت الذي يتواجد به عدد كبري من العمال. ونقوم بتحضري الوجبات بأنفسنا خالل وقت التوزيع. كيف إنطلقت حملة «إحياء البسمة»؟ بدأنا بالعمل التطوعي يف رمضان املبارك ،2013على الرغم من أن الفكرة كانت تراودنا من فرتة إال أن التطبيق كان يف شهر رمضان .وكانت البداية مع مشروع إفطار صائم وتوزيع وجبات اإلفطار على العمال ،وحرصنا على توزيع الوجبات شخصيًا وكان ذلك يف عدد من مناطق الكويت يف الفراونية واجلليب وعدد من املستشفيات. ما هو مصدر تبرعاتكم؟ يف البداية كانت املبالغ املادية من «جيوبنا» اخلاصة ،ولكن احلمداهلل قمنا بنشر عملنا التطوعي وحصلنا على تربعات من أهل اخلري يف الكويت .والحظت وجود عدد كبري من الطالب الراغبني بتقدمي التربعات ،وهناك متربعني بشكل مستمر،وشخص آخر متكلف بأسرة سنة كاملة .أما بالنسبة للزكاة فشروطها ثمانية يف القرآن الكرمي لذلك ال نأخذها من أي شخص إال من هو قريب ألن باب الثقة واألمانة صعب. 35

FATIMA AL-QAZWEENI DESIGNS UNIQUE T-SHIRTS WITH AN ARABIC VINTAGE TWIST
Fatima Al-Qazwene, the founder of Wicked Closet, established her business on the basis of uniqueness and creativity. What makes her boutique different is the Arabic Vintage theme she tries to portray though her personal designs. To get to know how wicked is Wicked Closet, STUDENTALK conducted an interview with Al-Qazweeni for the December Issue.
When did you decide to have your own business? Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to work on either interior designing or fashion designing. However, I could not start at this early age since my time was mostly consumed with school work. After graduation, I thought it would be the perfect time to establish my own business. I have decided in April 2013 to have my own business and promote for it through Instagram.
Who supported you to start your own business? In the beginning, I started posting my personal designed outfits on my personal Instagram. I received positive feedback from several people. Family, friends and other fans encouraged me to start designing for the public. As a result, I started selling them on Wicked Closet’s Instagram. It takes from two to three days maximum for delivery if the item is not ready and the size is not available.
How does Wicked Closet differentiate itself from other boutiques? I ensure that all my items are limited edition. Wicked Closet is known for its creative designs and I must keep this reputation going by constantly working on different designs. The theme for Wicked Closet is Arabic Vintage. I started with designing Daraat for Ramadan. They are the traditional Daraat but with a different modern twist. As I received a great feedback, I decided to expand on the Arabic vintage theme by designing T-shirts that include Arabic themes along with other t-shirts that has a western and international twist. My best seller t-shirt was the Christian Louboutin.
What are your potential plans for Wicked Closet? My short term potential plan is working on my Winter Collection, which will include winter colors such as dark purple, gray, black and leopard print. STUDENTALK conducted an interview with the founders for the December Issue.
What inspired you to open a different market for TSHIRT STORE in the Middle East? We both are fans of street wear and being comfortable without losing your style. Every year like most Kuwaitis we tend to buy our clothes from London. While walking around in Covent Gardens in London, we came across the store and were amazed by the range and different styles they had and went on a shopping frenzy, then the idea hit us! Why do you we have to travel all the way here, when we should be able to share this experience with the people of Kuwait.
How do you choose the designs you wish to sell in Kuwait? Good question, since we have the privilege of choosing from over 100 styles which increases by 6 or 7 every month , we tend to choose the Tshirts that showcase unique artwork, strong messages and are also fashionable that when people see them they quickly want to buy them.
How did you face the obstacles you encountered ? Once you have your heart and mind set on something no obstacle can stop you and there are many ways around everything. Every problem has a solution. That is how we face each obstacle.
In what ways do you manage the marketing for TSHIRT Store Kuwait? We believe that today’s technology has given us easier access to people’s minds through social media. Instagram is a powerful tool especially in Kuwait and the Gulf region. What better way to showcase beautiful art than through visual images. A picture is worth a thousand words, Tshirt Store’s designs are priceless.

ٕاحدى املشاريع املنفذة لشركة OOGوالتي تستقبل املعماريني الكويتيني من 26متخصص يف جمال العمارة و التصميم الداخلي وتطوير املساحات و تقدمي االستشارات للعمالء . ومنذ تأسيسه لفت املكتب األنظار مبشاريعه و تصاميمه املتميزة يف جماالت التنمية اإلقليمية واحلضرية ،والهندسة املعمارية والتصميم الداخلي للشركات، والسينوغرافيا .حيث ميتد عمل املكتب حمليا يف سويسرا و دوليا .هذا وقد فاز املكتب مؤخرا مبنافسة منطقة مبنى املكاتب ومكاتب جديدة للشركة الرائدة لإلستشارات العقارية يف سويسرا. وبدأ التعاون بني املكتب و برنامج الصندوق لتدريب و تأهيل املهندسني واملعماريني الكويتيني حديثي التخرج يف عام 2008حيث يستقبل املكتب ما يصل إىل أربعة متدربني كل عام و ملدة ستة أشهر كجزء من برنامج تدريبي مكثف توكل لهم خالله مهام و مسؤوليات حمددة ,كما يشرتك املتدربون مع العاملني يف فرق عمل لتنفيذ مشاريع املكتب اخملتلفة مستخدمني تقنيات عمل حديثة ( ) Building Information modeling BIMباإلضافة اىل احلوار املفتوح مع الشركات املعمارية العاملية . هذا ويصف لوكاس بوشارد أحد املؤسسني– التعاون بني برنامج الصندوق و OOSيف خالل السنوات اخلمس السابقة أكمل 22متدرب برناجمهم التدريبي لدينا بكفاءة ,حيث أسفر وجودهم عن تبادل ثقايف بينهم وبني موظفينا و اننا حملظوظون حلصولنا على فرصة املساعدة يف تكوين جيل معماري موهوب ننقل لهم تفاؤلنا و شغفنا باملعمار .وتوقع ان يكون نتاج التدريب مع اخللفية الثقافية للمتدربني مفيد للمتدربني يف حياتهم الوظيفية يف بلدهم الكويت. ولفت بوشارد إىل أن من األعمال املميزة التي عمل عليها املتدربون هي إعداد كتيبان حول رؤية الكويت ,األول حتت مسمى صورة ألمة و الثاين حتت مسمى الكويت املدنية قام بإعدادهم متدربات برنامج الصندوق وهن :راية الصباح ,ربى الصالح,

من جانبها قالت املتدربة آمنة القناعي مل أكن أتخيل أنني حني أتخرج من جامعة الكويت ,بأنني سوف أتوج شهادة سريتي الذاتية (بجانب مسريتي العلمية املتمثلة بشهادتي اجلامعية) بشهادات لدورات و وورش عمل تغطي نواحي شتى تساهم بشكل فعال لبناء شخصية الفرد ,و مل أكن أتخيل أنني سوف أمتلك الفرصة ألتدرب خارج الكويت و يف شركة خاصة داخل الكويت .ولكن وهلل احلمد و بفضل برنامج تدريب و تأهيل املهندسني و املعماريني حديثي التخرج املقدم من صندوق التنمية الكويتي ,فقد حققت الهدف من مشاركتي يف هذا الربنامج ,أال و هو اكتساب اخلربات و املهارات لتأهيلي لسوق العمل. وأضافت إن استفادتي من هذا الربنامج هائلة يف جميع مراحله الثالث ,حيث إن احملاضرات و ورش العمل يف املرحلة األوىل التي غطت اجلوانب الهندسية و الفنية و اإلدارية و املالية قد اكسبتني معلومات مل أكن ألتعلمها لوال هذا الدورات املفيدة. الفتة إىل أن الدورات كانت عبارة عن إدارة املشاريع ،مهارات االتصال و العرض ،إدارة الوقت و الذات ،حل املشكالت و إتخاذ القرار ،الهندسة القيمية ،دراسة اجلدوى، مهارات التفاوض ،متويل لغري اخملتصني بالتمويل ،إدارة العقود ،كتابة التقارير باللغتني اإلجنليزية و العربية ،نظم األمان يف املنشآت الصناعية ،بناء فرق العمل و العمل اجلماعي ،مفاهيم و أسس التنظيم املؤسسي للمنظمات .مشرية إىل أن هذه الورش شارك فيها مدربون أكفاء و مؤهلون من مراكز عاملية معروفة و مميزة .وأشارت القناعي إىل ان مرحلة التدريب الثانية ,التدريب امليداين كانت يف شركة Fluorيف مدينة مدريد -أسبانيا ,حيث أن هذه التجربة كانت جدا مفيدة ,و لعبت دورا كبريا يف بناء شخصيتي ,ساهمت بشكل إيجابي و فعال يف حياتي و هلل احلمد .لقد اصبحت بفضل هذه التجربة أكرث حتمال لضغوطات احلياة و اكرث اعتمادا على نفسي ,هذا وبجانب تكويني لصداقات جديدة و تعلمي للغة جديدة .و إجماال كانت جتربتي يف شركة ( )Fluorو مثمرة جدا . وأسدت القناعي بالنصح للمهندسني و املعماريني املنتسبني حاليا للربنامج هو االستفادة القصوى من الربنامج ,حيث أنه برنامج فريد من نوعه ,و الدورات املقدمة يف املرحلة األوىل حتمل يف جعبتها الكثري و الكثري من املعلومات القيمة و يكفي أن نلقي نظرة على عناوين هذه الدورات لنفهم مدى أهمية هذه الدورات على احلياة العملية املستقبلية للمهندسني و املعماريني .أما بخصوص املرحلتني الثانية و الثالثة فاالستفادة من هاتني املرحلتني جدا كبرية و ألختزل النصيحة يكفي أن أقول " أنها فرصة عظيمة فأحسنوا استغاللها و االستفادة القصوى منها".

347خريجا من برنامج تدريب وتأهيل المهندسين والمعماريين الكويتيين حديثي التخرج حتى يونيو 2013 • خريجو البرنامج :اكتسبنا مهارات وخبرات جعلتنا مميزون في سوق العمل • تعاون برنامج الصندوق مع مكتب OOSأثمر عن تلقي 22معماري ومعماريه تدريبهم خالل السنوات الخمس األخيرة علي الرغم من أن الصندوق الكويتي أنشئ بهدف تقديم المساعدات للدول النامية إال أن الصندوق قام بأكثر من التفاته نحو الداخل وقام بالتحرك المحلي داخل الكويت علي أكثر من صعيد ،منها على سبيل المثال ال الحصر اطلق برنامج تدريب و تأهيل المهندسين والمعماريين الكويتيين حديثي التخرج وذلك في عام . 2004 وقد حظي برنامج تأهيل املهندسني واملعماريني باهتمام حملي كبري نظرا لكونه يصب يف إطار دعم جهود التنمية البشرية يف دولة الكويت ,فالربنامج التدريبي الشامل يسعى منذ إطالقه اىل إكساب املهندسني واملعماريني حديثي التخرج مهارات احرتافية عالية تسهم يف تلبية احتياجات السوق احمللي من هذه التخصصات املهمة وخاصة يف القطاع اخلاص الكويتي كما يسعى اىل املساهمة يف جهود احلكومة يف جمال التنمية البشرية للكوادر الوطنية والدعم املؤسسي للقطاع اخلاص .وينفذ على 3مراحل خمتلفة تتضمن دراسات و تدريبات نظرية و ميدانية على العمل بالشركات سواء احمللية أو العاملية و حتى يونيو 2013مت تخريج 17دفعة بواقع 347خريج من املهندسني واملعماريني يعمل معظمهم حاليا يف القطاع اخلاص الكويتي.
مراحل التدريب
أما عن مراحل التدريب فهي تنقسم اىل ثالث مراحل مدتها 13شهرا ,وتبلغ مدة املرحلة األوىل 3أشهر وتشتمل على حماضرات وورش عمل وتطبيقات عملية تغطي النواحي الهندسية والفنية واإلدارية واملالية ,وهي موزعة على حوايل 13 أسبوعا ,فيما تبلغ مدة املرحلة الثانية 6أشهر وتشتمل على تدريب ميداين خارج دولة الكويت مع شركات أو مؤسسات أو منظمات عاملية أو إقليمية ويتم االهتمام يف هذه املرحلة على التدريب العملي يف النواحي الهندسية والفنية التطبيقية عرب االلتحاق بإدارات وأقسام هذه الشركات والعمل فيها بشكل يومي ,حيث يسند اىل املتدربني مهام ومسؤوليات حمددة. وتبلغ مدة املرحلة الثالثة 3أشهر وتشتمل على تدريب ميداين داخل دولة الكويت مع شركات أو مؤسسات أو مصانع غالبا ما تنتمي اىل القطاع اخلاص ,ويف هذه املرحلة يقوم املتدرب باالستفادة من املعلومات واملفاهيم التي اكتسبها يف املرحلة األوىل واخلربة امليدانية التي حصل عليها يف املرحلة الثانية ليقوم بدوره بتطبيق هذه املفاهيم واخلربات يف اإلدارات واألقسام التي سيلتحق بها يف شركات ومؤسسات القطاع اخلاص الكويتي ,وهذه املرحلة لها فائدة كبرية تتمثل يف إطالع املتدرب على فرص العمل التي تالئم توجهاته وتطلعاته يف الشركات واملؤسسات اخلاصة. 39
مميزات البرنامج
وهناك العديد من املميزات التي يحصل عليها املتدرب بخالف اخلربات واكتساب املهارات وهي حصوله على خمصصات مالية عبارة عن مكافأة شهرية خالل فرتة الربنامج التدريبي واملمتدة لـ 13شهرا ,كما يتم صرف بدل سفر وتذكرة من وإىل مقر الشركة التي سيتدرب بها املهندسون واملعماريون خارج دولة الكويت, كما يتم توفري تأمني صحي للعالج أثناء التدريب خارج البالد ,ويتم إبرام عقد تدريب بني الصندوق الكويتي للتنمية واملتدربني يشتمل على النواحي القانونية واإلدارية واملالية باإلضافة اىل أي أمور ضرورية لتحديد إطار العالقة بني الصندوق واملتدرب. ويف إطار حرص الصندوق على متابعة املتدربني يف الداخل و اخلارج قام بالتواصل مع عدد من املهندسني و املعماريني خالل مراحل تدريبهم للتعرف على آرائهم يف التجربة التي خاضوا غمارها .

ويف هذا السياق قال املهندس عبدالعزيز الريس لقد قررت االنضمام إىل الربنامج لكونه فرصة فريدة من نوعها الكتساب اخلربة يف جماالت كثرية بعد ان قرأت عن مراحل الدورة اخملتلفة و أهداف الربنامج ،فوجدت أنها افضل طريقة لالنتقال من الدراسة و احلياة النظرية إىل عامل العمل و التطبيق الفعلي جملاالت العمارة والهندسة . وحول االستفادة التي حققها من مشاركته بالربنامج مبراحله الثالث ،أضاف الريس أن من أبرز ما استفاده من الربنامج هو االحتكاك بأشخاص من جماالت خمتلفة و خلفيات متنوعة ،ابتداء من املرحلة األوىل و اختالطنا بزمالء من جميع تخصصات الهندسة و مع خريجي جامعة الكويت و شتى اجلامعات األخرى ،إىل املرحلة الثانية و تعرفنا على ثقافات أخرى و االستفادة من طريقة عملهم و طريقة التعامل و التواصل معهم و يف النهاية تطبيق هذه الدروس القيمة و وضوح انعكاسها على مستوى التطور العملي و األهم على املستوى الشخصي . وتابع قائال أن الربنامج أتاح له فرصة اختيار مكتب يف اجملال اخلاص يف مرحلته الثالثة ،و قد وفقت بان اعمل يف مكتب كيان للمعمار و التصميم الداخلي إىل يومنا احلايل حتى بعد انتهاء الدورة .و قد الحظت كذلك مدى تطبيقي خلربة املرحلتني األوىل و الثانية يف التعامل مع العمالء و أصدقاء العمل و يف تنظيم الوقت و املهام و يف حتدي النفس و الطموح إىل افضل معايري العمل خصوصا يف القطاع اخلاص .ونصح عبدالعزيز كل من أتيحت لهم هذه الفرصة باالنضمام إىل الربنامج، فهو فرصة فريدة من نوعها و مبثابة خربة رائعة خصوصا يف مدة سنة واحدة فقط .فقد أحسست أنني عملت ملدة طويلة و تعلمت دروسا قيمة ال حتصى و كونت عالقات و صداقات كثرية مع زمالء التدريب و املدربني و اإلخوان و األخوات يف قسم التدريب و زمالء العمل و االصدقاء يف اخلارج أثناء املرحلة الثانية . جتدر اإلشارة إىل املهندس عبدالعزيز الريس تلقى مرحلة التدريب الثانية والتي تتم خارج دولة الكويت يف مكتب OOS AGللمعمار و التصميم الداخلي مقره زيورخ – سويسرا ،وهذا املكتب تأسس يف عام ، 2000ويتكون فريق العمل فيه

The course welcomes beginning and advanced swimmers for an active lifestyle. Al-Fares has 15 years of experience in swimming and represented the Kuwait National Team from 2001 till 2005.

The Poseidon Program is designed to encourage a healthy and an active lifestyle for its participants by offering professional swimming lessons, as well as by providing education on many aspects regarding health and body wellness. This program provides swimming lessons to beginners and advanced swimmers alike. Swimming contributes to a good healthy life style, that it is taught in a safe environment at the hands of those who are well trained. The Poseidon Program aims to take place in Kuwait from September 29th till November 7th at “AlArabi Swimming Complex under the supervision of highly qualified coaches. The estimated number of participants in the program is 40 participants.
The first Poseidon Program in Kuwait was established in June 23, 2013 at Al-Arabi Sport Club. It was a six week intensive training course. To measure the participants’ improvement, on a weekly basis the participants went through test measurements to keep track of their development. Successfully, the participant improvement reached 150%. It was a rewarding feeling to change the lifestyle of 35 participants when we only expected 30 participants at the beginning of the program.

THE HIGHEST STAND UP COMEDY SHOW ONE WORD #LAUGHHIGH
Standup comedy is an art that expresses cultural and traditional issues in a satirical way. The Highest Stand Up Comedy Show was successfully organized in a street style technique, thanks to Mohammad Ebrahim, the founder of Gas Events. STUDENTALK contributed with its media sponsorship to create maximum exposure for the talented comedians amongst university students. Here is an interview with the comedians from Kuwait and the Gulf Region who made everyone in the audience crack up. Mohammad Ebrahim Gas Events, launched in 2010, serves as a talent agency speakers house and an events management company. We started working as a talent agency in 2012 and created entertaining events, mainly stand up comedy so far. There is still demand for stand up comedy shows and entertainment events as the comedy scene is still not mature in Kuwait. Due to limited knowledge of the true meaning of standup comedy in 2010, we have been attempting to establish a strong culture for it since people in Kuwait mistake it for plays. Successfully, over the years people became more aware about the concept. Consequently, the number of audience and sponsorship companies have increased. As for the recent Highest Stand Up Comedy Show, We collaborated with Mr. Talal Al-Othaman in order to host the comedy show and make the 60th at the Al Hamra Mall floor the highest standup comedy show venue in the world. I have selected an unfinished floor in order to execute our creative ideas. Ali Chaban, the Creative Director of the event, decided to have a street style standup comedy show with a touch of the Renaissance era. As for our talented comedians, we do not interfere with their content because they already drew their own red lines that they choose not to cross.

Talal Al-Othman The whole thing started with an idea. The implementation process was very interesting. I worked with an amazing team in which tasks were divided and we ended with an outstanding result. It’s satisfying to hear feedback from friends and family thanking us for an amazing experience and a good laugh.
Ali Chaaban The show was highly creative, highly hilarious, and highy anticipating. I highly appreciated the crowd. The ambience was amazing and I wish we could do it again soon.
Mohammad Aqua It was such a pleasure and a privilege to perform in one of the best stand up comedy in the world. Therefore, you will see me bragging about it. The audience was great and the decoration was outstanding. Thanks to Gas Events for creating a such successful event and making me a headliner of the show.
Mohammad Al-Kazemi Being part of the comedy show was simply amazing. I loved it and I wish we could perform all year long. I think people need more comedy shows in Kuwait to know that is a special street art that expresses people’s daily issues and problems in a very satirical way. My dream was at the 60th floor. Yes, Muhammad Ibrahim made it happen! It was a pleasure working with the comedy team, because our aim is to constantly make people laugh.

Firas “Firawesome” Alola The Highest Stand Up Comedy Show literally (until someone decides to do a show somewhere on BurjKhalifa) was an amazing experience, and not just from a performer’s point view. From the venue’s location to the way it was set up and decorated, from my fellow performers to the crowd. The overall experience is unmatched. On a personal level, the event (because let’s be honest, it was an event more than just a show) was a personal success in many ways. The first day of the event, my talent manager Mohammed Ebrahim and I decided to have my performance in English, and the only one performing in English amongst the four comedians. Not only was it in English, but it also was new material. The “experiment” did not go as well as planned, but we did not let that deter us. After the first day, I went back to my hotel room and wrote new material to be presented in Arabic for the second show and it was a success. Building on how well it was received, I fine tuned the same performance and material for the last day and the performance was near flawless (in terms of delivery, timing and content). Hopefully, there will be many more shows to come and I will perform again soon. In closing, I would like to thank the organizer, the venue’s management and staff, the sponsors, but most of all I would like to thank the fans and everybody that came to see us.
Sheikha Al-Khaldi For a young woman to perform in Kuwait, it is still not as accepted as it would be anywhere else with a rich stand up comedy culture. The whole concept of stand up comedy is still confusing to many people here in Kuwait. I realized that people are more likely to understand and accept the concept when attending the event. Many feel that there are certain matters that should not be brought up in a skit or a show. I am a firm believer that comedy should not be limited to certain issues. I believe that any subject can be discussed in a satirical matter bringing up all the valid points of discussion mixed in with smart and witty humor. As to performing in the highest stand up comedy show, I HAD A BLAST! The place was well organized and the decorations were phenomenal, the organizers asked local street artists to decorate the walls and it came out perfect. I felt like I was in a real comedy club in the states or the UK. The stunning view of Kuwait from the 60th floor added a beautiful vibe to the whole event. This is the most fun I had during a show.

ُقدم بحرفية عالية ،ومعاملة اإلنسانية والعملية على حد سواء ،فاخلدمات الطبية ت ّ الطاقم الطبي والطاقم املساعد كانت من أفضل ما يكون». وعن اهتمام مستشفى جريت أورموند سرتيت مبناسبات املرضى ،واحتفاله معهم ومع ذويهم باألعياد الرسمية الكربى وأعياد ميالدهم ،تذكر والدة حممد هذه الفرتة جيدًا وتقول« :صادف خالل تواجد حممد هناك ،حلول شهر رمضان املبارك وعيد الفطر السعيد ،وكان برفقة والده يف املستشفى ،حني اتصلت بهما من الكويت يف اليوم الثاين من العيد ألستفسر عن حالهما وعن سبب عدم تواصلهما معي لتهنئتي بهذه املناسبة .بادرين أبو حممد بصوت ملؤه الفرح« :أنتم حتتفلون بالعيد على طريقتكم يف الكويت ،ونحن أيضًا لدينا أناس طيبون يف املستشفى يحتفلون بعيدنا على طريقتهم». أكمل حممد بقوله« :استضافوا ألجلنا شخصيات كرتونية مشهورة ووزعوا علينا الهدايا احتفا ًال بالعيد .لقد أنسونا األمل ورهبة العمليات بهذه اللفتة اإلنسانية». مكث حممد يف «جريت أورموند سرتيت» ملدة سنة وثمانية شهور ،أخضع خاللها ملراقبة دقيقة بتوجيه وإشراف من الدكتور أنتوين ميتشالسكي .وحني الحظ طاقم األطباء املشرفني التحسن امللحوظ الذي أبداه الشاب واستقرار حالته الصحية، حتسبًا ألي بعثوا مبلفه ملستشفى NBKيف الكويت بهدف إبقائه قيد املتابعة ّ طارىء وملواصلة اتخاذ اإلجراءات العالجية والفحوصات الروتينية. واختتم حممد حديثه بالقول« :ما زلت منذ عودتي من لندن وحتى اليوم ،أخضع للتحاليل والفحوص الدورية يف مستشفى الكويت الوطني NBKبالتنسيق مع مستشفى ’جريت أورموند سرتيت‘ ،حيث يزروين أطباء من لندن بشكل منتظم لالطمئنان على تطور العالج وتقييم وضعي الصحي ،واحلقيقة أن طاقم العمل يف عال من املهنية والتعاطف». دراسة حالة: محمد 18عامًا كان محمد شابًا معروفًا بنشاطه وحيويته وحبه للعب كرة القدم ،وهو تلميذ مجتهد في دراسته ،ولطالما كان طموحه أن يصبح مهندسًا يفخر به أبواه ،لذلك اختار االلتحاق بالقسم العلمي في مدرسته في منطقة الفنطاس في الكويت ،ليحقق حلمه. يف العام ،2010وحتديدًا خالل فرتة امتحانات نهاية العام الدراسي ،كان حممد دائم الشكوى من أمل أصابه يف جبهته ،واعتقدت والدته أنه ناجت عن ضغط الدراسة، فمحمد طالب يدرس مبنتهى اجلد وقلي ًال ما كان ينال قسطًا من الراحة .ولكن حتى بعد انتهاء فرتة االمتحانات ،زادت وطأة األمل على حممد حتى امتد من اجلهة األمامية يف رأسه إىل اجلهة اخللفية ،مما أثار قلق والديه اللذين سارعا بأخذه إىل طبيب العائلة الذي نصحهما بإجراء عدة فحوصات طبية. يف مستشفى العدان ،كانت احملطة األوىل ،حيث خضع حممد للمراقبة الطبية، متّ بعدها تشخيص األمل على أنه ناجت عن وجود ورم يف الرأس .وقد شعر الوالدان فضال االستعانة بالقلق من إجراء املزيد من الفحوصات أو العمليات البنهما ،ولهذا ّ مغمسة بخلطة عشبية. لف موضع األمل بضمادة بخبري يف الطب البديل ،عمد إىل ّ ّ تخدر يف من يعاين وهو التايل اليوم يف استفاق ولألسف ،فإن حممد سرعان ما ّ واختل توازنه فأصبح شبه أطراف جسده ،كما أنه فقد القدرة على اإلبصار بوضوح، ّ عاجز عن املشي. عاود الوالدان أخذه إىل مستشفى العدان ،حيث أجروا له صورة أشعة مقطعية حتت إشراف أخصائي يف جراحة املخ واألعصاب من مستشفى ابن سينا ،وقد أظهرت األشعة وجود ورم يف الرأس ،قد ُيفقد حممد نعمة اإلبصار أو يتسبب يف شلل عموده الفقري على املدى البعيد ،يف حال مل ُيعالج و ُيستأصل بواسطة التدخل اجلراحي يف أسرع وقت ممكن. بعد تردد الوالد وتشجيع األم له ،خضع حممد للعملية يف مستشفى ابن سينا ،ولكن اجلراح أبلغهما بوجود كتل زائدة رغم استئصال الورم ،مبديًا صعوبة يف حتديد ما تشوهًا خلقيًا ُولد به حممد أم أنها جمرد بقايا دم متجمد ودهون إذا كانت تلك الكتل ّ ستزول مع جلسات العالج الكيماوي واإلشعاعي. وقد اعترب الوالدان أن هناك جمازفة كبرية يف إخضاع حممد جللسات العالج جاهدين الكيميائي واإلشعاعي قبل تب ّين سبب ظهور تلك الكتل يف رأسه ،فعمال َ مبساعدة صديق لهما يعمل يف وزارة الصحة الكويتية ،على تأمني موعد طبي حملمد يف مستشفى «جريت أورموند سرتيت» لألطفال يف لندن ،أحد املراكز الطبية الرائدة عامليًا يف تقدمي الرعاية الصحية لألطفال ،كي يحصل ابنهما على الرعاية الطبية الضرورية حلالته.

وصل حممد برفقة والده إىل مستشفى «جريت أورموند سرتيت» لألطفال وهو يحمل يف رأسه آما ًال بالتعايف فاقت حجم األمل الذي كان يكابده .وقد متّ إخضاعه للتحاليل ،وشخّ ص الدكتور أنتوين ميتشالسكي ،االستشاري املتخصص يف األورام لدى األطفال ،الكتل الزائدة على أنها جمرد بقايا من دم متجمد تسهل إزالتها بعملية جراحية بسيطة يجريها جراحون مهرة بحرفية عالية ،على أن ميضي حممد يف مستشفى «جريت أورموند سرتيت» فرتة يتم خاللها حتليل الكتل وإخضاعه إلجراءات عالجية تضمن سرعة تعافيه .قال حممد« :قبل أن أصل إىل ’جريت أورموند ً معروفا عني خويف الشديد من وخز اإلبر ،ولكن املمرضني واملمرضات سرتيت‘ كان يف املستشفى أخذوا بيدي وشجعوين بعطفهم ومهنّيتهم .لقد أحببت طاقم العمل بأكمله يف املستشفى ،من مشريف العناية الطبية إىل املمرضات اللواتي فكن يجالسنني ويسمحن يل باللعب ومشاهدة التلفاز، كن حريصات على راحتيّ ، ّ كلما سمحت حالتي الصحية بذلك» .وتابع بقوله« :لقد أعاد ’جريت أورموند سرتيت‘ حادًا يف إ ّ يل حياتي الطبيعية ونشاطي ،فقد كنت أعاين قبل جميئي إىل هنا ارتخاء ّ املفاصل واألعصاب والعضالت ،جعلني ال أقوى على املشي باتزان ،فكنت حبيس حذاء من اجلبس ساعدين يف صمموا يل ً الكرسي املتحرك ،ولكنهم يف املستشفى ّ والتحرك يل قدرتي على املشي املوازنة بني خطواتي ،وبعد انتهاء فرتة العالج عادت إ ّ ّ تعرفت يف القسم إىل صديق كويتي بحرية» .وأضاف« :أثناء إقامتي يف املستشفىّ ، اسمه ضويحي وعمره 11سنة ،تشاركت وإياه حلظات جميلة ،كنا نلعب سو ّيًا ونشاهد تعد لنا الطعام الذي نحبه ،وقد عرفت فيما بعد أن ضويحي تويف التلفاز ،وكانت والدته ّ بعد عودته إىل الكويت ،وكانت هذه الصدمة ما زادين متسكًا باحلياة». من جانبها قالت لوراين هاكيت ،أخصائية التمريض السريري« :مكث حممد يف املستشفى لدينا لفرتة ،وخاللها كان ترتسم على وجهه دومًا معامل املرح والبهجة ،رغم املشاكل الطبية التي كان يعاين منها .وامتاز حممد بذكائه وبصريته

Introduce yourself to the readers. My name is Ziad Maalouf, a 23 year old Lebanese student at the American University of Kuwait, currently pursuing a double major in Finance and Marketing. I grew up in Kuwait and studied at the French School, later moved to the American School of Kuwait in 9th grade.
What is your talent? I would call myself a jack of all trades, but the master of none. I certainly do enjoy playing the guitar, amongst other artistic endeavors. I would definitely not call myself an expert though.
How did you develop your talent? Everything I know about playing the guitar, I have taught myself. I initially picked up a beginner’s book about 3 years ago then quickly progressed to watching free instructional videos on YouTube offered by people such as Justin Sandercoe and Marty Schwartz. Eventually, I found my haven with LickLibrary, who offer the most incredible array of lessons, and transcriptions written by actual artists (Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, amongst many others). Unlike most guitar players, I definitely wouldn’t recommend tablatures as they usually aren’t accurate, and don’t offer much information on technique and theory.
Did you encounter any obstacles? Ask any decent guitar player and they will tell you that playing the guitar comes with a lot of sacrifice and a lot of obstacles. There is only one way to learn a musical instrument, and it is through tedious practice, which can get very repetitive and monotonous. Eventually though, through all the hardships (swelling in your fingers and hurt wrists), you will reach your goal as long as you keep pushing through.
Who supported your talent? Not many people know that I play the guitar, and the ones that do usually don’t know how well I play it. I have gotten a lot of support through the years from my family and my friends, most notably my friend and inspiration, Sami El-Cheikh, an outstanding guitar player.
Any last words for the readers? I would like to thank Salmeen Musical Center for helping me borrow their AMP, without their generosity I wouldn’t have been able to play my songs. I certainly do hope you pick up the guitar and go at it if you’re reading this, as it is such a complete and wonderful instrument to play! Good luck J

Introduce yourself to the readers: My name is Anjan Sethi and I am a freshman studying in the American University of Kuwait. I am from India and have been living in Kuwait for 15 years now.
What is your talent? I play the Guitar. I play classical, acoustic, as well as the electric guitar. I also record my own music and cover songs. I am also in a band, but we are still in the early stages. Our potential plan is working harder in the future to have public performances
How did you develop your talent? I am a self taught guitarist. I have a lot of influences, for example Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads and many more. I have been guitar through YouTube lessons. I researched on Google as well for techniques. From there, I started practicing regularly in order to develop my talent. In the meantime, I am taking a Guitar Class at my university to further develop my talent.
Did you encounter any obstacles? Yes, guitar is not an easy instrument to play and requires lots of hard work and practice. Since I am a self taught guitarist, I had some issues with tuning and positioning in the beginning, but with practice, all of that is gone now.
Who supported your talent? My family and friends have all supported me and have motivated me throughout my daily practices. My parents were very supportive and have encouraged me in order to start my band.
Any last words for the readers? I will just say that always do whatever makes you happy and whatever you do, do it with a lot of passion and hard work. You will encounter problems, but in the end you will achieve your goal.

R E N WIN NASSER AHMED The Most Talented Competition For November 2013 Nasser Ahmed burned the roof down by winning STUDENTALK Talent Competition with his exciting performance as a DJ. Ahmed received outstanding votes on www.studentalk-online.com. Letâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s take a closer look on his unique talent and how he was able to develop it in Kuwait.
What inspired your passion for Djing? Ever since infancy, I have had a passion for music. A close friend recommended I look into DJing since I always had an ear for setting the right mood through a wide variety of songs. I took it one step at a time, after continuous effort and hard work Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m finally seeing positive results.
Did you encounter any obstacles in such difficult field? As anyone who aspires to be great in any field, obstacles are inevitable. The key is to stay consistent with action towards those goals and have a positive mindset throughout the process. If I had to mention an obstacle I would say balancing my passion towards DJing and other aspects such as family, education, work and of course football!
Who supported your talent? First and foremost, my parents really supported me along my path of reaching my goal of becoming a successful DJ. They have created a comfortable environment at home where I can tune in on new creative ways to keep the crowd pleased. Secondly, my friends have always been there for me when it comes to keeping me feeling alive and fresh. Last but not least, DJ Kuwexican has been by my side ever since I started. He introduced me to the world of DJing and has always been a foundational guide throughout the process.

قبل العالج : جتنب التعرض املباشر الشعة الشمس ( ) 6 - 4أسابيع. جتنب التشقري ،النتف ،الشمع ،استئصال الشعر بالكهرباء ٦اسابيع . ضرورة أن يخرب املريض الطبيب اذا كان لديه قصة سابقة لالصابة بالهربس ، حتى يعطيه الدواء املناسب للوقاية من تكرار االصابة. ضرورة حلق املنطقة املراد معاجلتها قبل اجراء الليزر بيوم واحد . جتنب تسمري اجللد قبل العالج بالليزر ملدة 6أسابيع على االقل بعد العالج : من املمكن ان تظهر درجات خفيفة من االحمرار بعد العالج مباشرة ، لذلك يجب وضع كمادات باردة ملدة ( )10-5دقائق لتخفيفها . ميكن وضع كرمي يحتوي على كميات ضئيلة من الكورتيزون بعد الكمادات البارة ملدة ) 3 - 2 ( أيام فقط . يسمح باالستحمام بعد الليزر مباء دافئ ولكن يجب ان يكون لطيفا وبدون فرك . ميكن استعمال مواد التجميل يف اليوم التايل الجراء الليزر . يجب تطبيق الواقي الشمسي بشكل متكرر وملدة عدة اشهر. ميكن أن يعطى بعض املرضى كرميات مبيضة للبشرة بني جلسات الليزر. واخريا تذكر /تذكري انه يجب جتنب النتف ،التشقري،ازالة الشعر بالكهرباء او الشمع حتى اجللسة القادمة.

العالج بالليزر لماذا ؟ يراود الكثير من النساء أن جمالهن وأنوثتهن ناقصة طالما وجد الشعر عندهن في أماكن غير مرغوب بها في اجسامهن تحديدآ في الوجه والذقن ربما بسبب تلوث البيئة او إستخدام االطعمة والثمار المعالجة هرمونيا او من أسباب اخرى مثل: • عوامل وراثية • اضطرابات هرمونية (نتيجة لتكيسات املبيض أو إضطراب الغدد الصماء ) • إستخدام بعض االدوية والهرمونات كعالج • إفرازات هرمونية من اورام خبيثة إن عملية نزع الشعر بالليزر هي الوسيلة اآلمنة للتخلص من الشعر الغري مرغوب فيه من اجلسم دون التأثريعلى املسامات الدقيقة باجلسم او تعريض خالياه للضرر ،حيث أن الليزر هو عبارة عن حزمة ضوئية نبضية تهدف اىل تكسري امليالنني ( وهو الصبغة الداكنة املوجودة بالشعر ) وهذه احلزمة تتحول اىل حرارة ال تتعدى طبقة اجللد السطحية بحيث تضعف بصيالت الشعردون أن حتدث مضاعفات داخلية وتتم حماية اجللد اثناء املعاجة عن طريق عملية تربيد فعالة وذلك بضخ ملطف ( هواء /جل / غاز ) على اجللد يندفع بنفس الوقت مع ضوءالليزر ويعمل على تربيد الطبقات العليا للجلد مؤمنا لالشخاص املزيد من الراحة يف نفس الوقت التي تصل فيها كميات اكرب من ضوء الليزر اىل نهايات البصيالت وحتطمها دون ان تؤثر على اي من الغدد املوجودة يف نفس املكان املستخدمة عليه ولذلك فهي اشعة آمنة على احلامل وجنينها بإذن اهلل. لذا جلات العديد من النساء مؤخرا الزالة شعر اجلسم باستخدام الليزر سعيا وراء التخلص منه نهائيا ،ولكي نتمكن من إتخاذ القرار املناسب الستخدام هذه التقنية يجب علينا معرفة كل ما يتعلق بها وهذا ما سوف نطرحه يف هذا املقال. هناك عدة انواع الجهزة الليزر نذكر منها : Rubey / Diod / Nd-YaG Q Swich / Intense pulse light ( IPL ) / Nd-YaG long pulse / Alexanderte وتعترب الثالثة انواع االخرية من اكرث االنواع إستخداما يف العامل . ومن االمور املهمة ايضا التي يجب ان نعرفها هي أن الشعر الطبيعي مير مبراحل منو ثالثة هي : .املرحلة االوىل هي مرحلة النمو ()Anagen .املرحلة الثانية هي مرحلة البيانات ()Telogen .املرحلة الثالثة هي املرحلة االنتقالية ()Catagen وتعترب مرحلة النمو هي املرحلة االفضل التي يكون فيها الشعرحساسا الشعة الليزر ،كما أن هناك نسب خمتلفة من الشعر يف اي مكان من اجلسم تكون احلاالت الثالث يف نفس الوقت لذلك يصعب إزالة الشعر نهائيا يف جلسة واحدة ما يستلزم جلسات إضافية. ترتاوح عدد اجللسات الالزم عملها من ( )6-4جلسات حسب املنطقة املعاجلة ولون البشرة وطبيعة الشعرة ولونها لذا قد يظهر بعض الشعر الحقا أي بعد حوايل ()10-5 ايام وهذا هو الشعر الذي متت معاجلته وليس بشعر جديد وميكن إزالته بدون أي مقاومة تذكر مبسحه باملاء اومبنشفة ،ويجب ان تتم اجللسات على مراحل متباعدة اي حوايل ( ) 6-4اسابيع بني اجللسة واالخرى. ولكي نتمكن من احلصول على افضل النتائج هناك تعليمات يجب على املريض / املريضة أن يتبعها قبل و بعد العالج بالليزر ،من أهم تلك التعليمات :

ACTING HEAD OF INFORMATION SECURITY UNIT Despite the massive development of technological revolution particularly in terms of information and communication sectors, yet “Every rose has its thorn”. Indeed, the wide expansion of innovative solutions and technological services was not escorted with similar development in information security or protection of the technological systems. Therefore, information systems become liable to cyber-attacks which resulted in huge losses incurred not only by many corporates; banks and financial institutions but also by certain governments which suffered from pertinent negative repercussions. Lately, Routers News Agency published a report which states that the world incurs losses of around 388 billion dollars and one trillion annually. Moreover, every 4.5 second, one cyber-attack is taking place around the globe targeting websites, databases or operating systems. Thus, it has become essential to impose legislations and laws incriminating hacking operations. Hence, with the increase of cybercrimes and hacking activities targeting ministries, financial institutions and banks in the aftermath of automating their services, information security should be performing vital role in order to confront to such increased attacks and violations. Protection of information space will definitely minimize sever losses incurred by operational sectors. It is not an exaggeration to praise Kuwait International Bank’ wise and prudent management that has become aware of the significance of Information Security in an early stage and supported its independency enabling the department to perform its role perfectly, openly and transparently and to powerfully face every related risks. Al-Dawli is also aware of the shortage of information technology expertise which obliged many institutions to send their staff to dedicated costly training programs so that they acquaint themselves with the required knowledge which lacking locally. We, as a banking sector exposed to many attacks, stress the importance of establishing governmental body to be entrusted with electronic security function and to develop dedicated defense policies. Moreover, IBS, in collaboration with specialized international centers, should regularly provide specialized training programs to all banking staff to illuminate them regarding recent hacking prevention skills and techniques so that staff are able to limit electronic attacks and to abort hacking attempts seeking fame, fund, spying, revenge, or even fun. Hacking may have many purposes yet the result is the same Cyberterrorism! Until establishment of this dedicated governmental body, certain simple precautionary and security measures should be taken in the banking sector which may prevent 80% of the electronic attacks targeting websites, personal accounts, and emails which is the main gate of these attacks.

Emails from unknown recipients should not be opened or responded to, even if recipient’s full correct name can be seen. It was found out that 90% of electronic violations and attacks are taking place through emails. In addition, all banking staff should be alert when dealing with these emails and should not tolerate with any suspicions rather they should immediately inform Information Security Unit. Information Security systems should regularly be checked and made ready. Internationally – approved information security systems should be purchased. Appropriate schemes should be selected and defense policies should be laid down. Financial corporates and institutions should regularly review and reassess applicable security policies which should be insured against all losses resulting from electronic violations as well as lawsuits pertinent to such violations.

Bubbleology, the popular London-based bubble tea brand, today celebrated the launch of its first store in Kuwait and the Middle East at Sanabil Tower with its local partners, Evolution Affiliates, Bubbleology Founder Assad Khan, and many bubble tea lovers. Guests were taken through a bubble-bursting event with an open-tasting session of more than 30 flavors of both hot and cold tea-based to milkbased drinks.
A café dedicated to bringing you the true essence of the sensational Lotus biscuits, has caught the attention of Kuwait’s café visitors ever since it’s soft opening in the month of April this year. The singer tagged a piece last night to raise money for the Philippines. Bieber got his tag on alongside a friend named Milk Tyson Saturday night in Los Angeles. The plan is to auction off the spray cans, and a signed picture of the wall and donate the money to a soon-to-be named Philippines typhoon relief group. Justin wants to “get involved” in efforts to restore the Philippines and this is his first step.
COLIN FARRELL, A FAN BUSTED FOR CREEPING AROUND ACTOR’S HOUSE Colin Farrell got an unexpected, and an unwanted visitor at his home in Los Angeles and now the guy has been arrested and placed on a psychiatric hold. According to the law enforcement, the man showed up to Colin’s home Saturday afternoon hoping to catch a glimpse of the actor. Things got weird when he walked right up to the front door. Colin was home at the time and got freaked out, so he called his assistant who called cops. The fan was quickly taken into custody and after the cops spoke with him, they decided to put the suspect on a 5150 psychiatric hold. The Police haven’t released the suspect’s name. However, it seems to be that the suspect is not a U.S. citizen, and one of the reasons he came to L.A. was specifically to see Colin.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN VISITS DUBAI Khloé Kardashian visits UAE. The youngest of the three Kardashian sisters is to launch the siblings’ K Kollection for high-street brands Lipsy and Iconic. LADY GAGA RELEASES ‘ARTPOP’ ALBUM COMPANION APP ARTPOP” by Lady Gaga “could mean anything,” as sung in the title track on the album. With the release of Lady Gaga’s third studio album “ARTPOP,” Gaga and her TechHaus team have built an intriguing companion app. The “ARTPOP” app is centralized around the idea of “the auras,” which is the community of users within the app. Named after “Aura,” the first track on the album, each user has a personal profile that they develop while using the app. Think of it as an overall presence of your activity, accessed by tapping on the glowing orb at the bottom of the main menu, which will reveal your activity scattered across the screen. The next area of the app that is unlocked as of its release is the ArtHaus studio. This is where you will be able to make unique GIF images, which are based on a moving objects with a background of your choice. There is also an area where users can view which images have been seen by Gaga, which is pretty cool.
