Being realistic means accepting reality as status quo. Being optimistic means setting expectations that rise above the status quo. Of course, one can be optimistic and still realize the shortcomings and hurdles of reality but without considering then as eternal limitations. ‫كيف تقبلت أسرتك فكرة القفز بالمظالت؟‬ ‫أميل بشكل عام إىل األلعاب الصعبة بعض الشيء‪ ،‬وأهوى األمور الغري عادية‬ ‫وأسرتي من أكرث األشخاص الداعمني يل منذ بداياتي وقراري بأن أبدأ بالقفز‬ ‫باملظالت والتدريب املكثف كان بتشجيع من والدي ووالدتي وباقي أفراد أسرتي‪.‬‬ ‫هل مارس أحد من أفراد أسرتك القفز بالمظلة؟‬ ‫شجعت والدتي للقفز باملظلة لكنها مل تتخذ القرار بعد‪ .‬يف حني أن شقيقتي‬ ‫وأبنائها بدأوا بالقفز املبتدأ باملظالت وملسوا من خاللها جتربة مميزة‪.‬‬ ‫ما هي شروط األشخاص الراغبين بالقفز بالمظالت؟‬ ‫ال يوجد شروط حمددة فقط أن يكون الشخص راشد وفوق ‪ 18‬سنة‪ ،‬وأال يزيد وزنه‬ ‫عن ‪ 100‬كيلوجرام حتى ال يعرض حياته للخطر‪.‬‬

‫ما هي الدول التي شاركت بها بالقفز بالمظالت؟‬ ‫شاركت بالقفز يف املظالت يف عدد من الدول منهااليونان وماليزيا والصني‬ ‫باإلضافة إىل دبي وفلوريدا وإسبانيا‪.‬‬ ‫لماذا قررت القفز بالمظلة ورفع العلم الكويتي ومرة أخرى بالزي الكويتي؟‬ ‫أرغب يف اإلحتفال بالعيد الوطني على طريقتي اخلاصة ‪ ،‬ولذلك سبق وشاركت يف‬ ‫فلوريدا حتديدًا يف العيد الوطني الكويتي عام ‪ 2013‬بالقفز باملظلة وأنا مرتدي الزي‬ ‫الكويتي وعلى الرغم من الصعوبة يف ذلك إال أنني متكنت من حتقيق النجاح‪ .‬ويف‬ ‫العيد الوطني عام ‪ 2013‬قررت أن أرفع علم الكويت يف سماء إسبانيا وجنحت يف ذلك‪.‬‬ ‫هل هناك عدد محدد للقفز المظلي؟‬ ‫بشكل عام أقوم ما بني ‪ 6‬إىل ‪ 8‬قفزات يف اليوم الواحد‪ ،‬وأكرث مرة قمت بالقفز‬ ‫املظلي يف اليوم الواحد كانت ‪ 15‬مرة‪.‬‬ ‫هل تتلقى أي دعم؟‬ ‫لألسف حتى اليوم مل أتلقى أي دعم حقيقي من أي من اجلهات يف الكويت‪ ،‬ولألسف‬ ‫هناك فكرة شائعة أن هذه اللعبة خطرة لكن إذا قمنا مبقارنتها مع ألعاب أخرى‬ ‫جند أن عدد الوفيات فيها ال يتعدى ‪ 10‬أشخاص من أصل ماليني القفزات التي تقام‬ ‫سنوياُ‪ ،‬وتعترب الوفيات بشكل عام سببها اخملاطرة التي يقوم بها املظلي خالل‬ ‫القفزة وليس ألي سبب آخر‪.‬‬ ‫كلمة أخيرة‪.‬‬ ‫أمتنى من أن يتم دعم املواهب الشبابية يف الكويت بشكل أكرب خاصة عندما يكون‬ ‫هناك ألعاب رياضية تتطلب اجلرأة والتحدي يف آن واحد‪.‬‬

‫محمد الرفاعي‪:‬‬ ‫شجعت والدتي للقفز بالمظلة لكنها‬ ‫لم تتخذ القرار بعد‬ ‫محمد الرفاعي‪ ،‬شاب كويتي طموح ومغامر‪ ،‬يمتلك شغف كبير في حب‬ ‫اإلستكشاف وتجربة أمور جديدة وغريبة في الحياة‪ .‬نال الرفاعي شهرة‬ ‫واسعة في الكويت ومنطقة الخليج بعدما قام بالقفز المظلي مرتديًا‬ ‫الزي الكويتي ومرة أخرى حام ُال عمل بالده ليرفرف في سماء أسبانيا‪.‬‬ ‫بجانب دراسته للتسويق من جامعة فلوريدا التي أمضى فيها أكثر من‬ ‫‪ 4‬سنوات قرر التخلي عن العمل للتفرغ بشكل كامل والتدريب المكثف‬ ‫للقفز بالمظالت‪ .‬التقته مجلة ‪ STUDENTALK‬لتسليط الضوء على هذه‬ ‫الرياضة المميزة وعن أبرز أهداف وطموحات محمد الرفاعي‪.‬‬ ‫من هو محمد الرفاعي؟‬ ‫حب املغامرة جزء من شخصيتي وذلك منذ أن كنت صغريًا وكان لدي الشغف‬ ‫املستمر بالرياضات اخلطرية منها سباق الدراجات النارية والغطس إىل أن‬ ‫اكتشفت شغفي الكبري يف القفز باملظالت‪ ،‬وكان ذلك منذ ‪ 3‬سنوات عندما تعرفت‬ ‫على روبرتا ماسينوكس والتي كانت السبب الرئيسي يف اكتشاف عشقي للقفز‬ ‫باملظالت‪.‬‬ ‫هل تمارس أنواع أخرى من القفز بجانب القفز بالمظالت؟‬ ‫يف الوقت احلايل أقوم مبمارسة القفز األساسي وهو عبارة عن قفز من جبل أو‬ ‫عمارة أو حتى برج ويتطلب تدريبات ومهارات خاصة وتعترب أكرث خطورة من القفز‬ ‫باملظالت‪ .‬أما مدة القفز املظلي من نقطة اإلنطالق إىل نقطة الوصول من ‪20-15‬‬ ‫ثانية كحد أقصى‪.‬‬ ‫هل هناك نسبية كبيرة من الكويتيين الذين يمارسون القفز بالمظالت؟‬ ‫من املؤكد أنه هناك عدد كبري من الهواة لهذه الرياضة حيث جربوا القفز باملظالت‬ ‫على األقل مرة واحدة خالل زيارتهم أحد الدول التي توفر هذه الرياضة لكن عدد‬ ‫احملرتفني قليل حيث هناك ما يقارب ‪ 200‬شخص يف الكويت ميارس القفز‬ ‫باملظالت بشكل مستمر ومن ضمنهم ‪ 3‬فتيات كويتيات‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو شعورك عند القفز؟‬ ‫الكثري من الناس يعتقدون أن القفز هو أمر يف غاية اخلطورة لكن يف احلقيقة أن‬ ‫القفز باملظالت يوفر الكثري من الهدوء النفسي والراحة والسالم الداخلي خاصة‬ ‫عندما تكون معلق ما بني السماء واألرض‪ ،‬وخالل القفزة ميكنك رؤية اجلمال‬ ‫الطبيعي للغيوم والسماء واألرض يف آن‪.‬‬ ‫هل حصلت على إجازة القفز بالمظلة؟‬ ‫لقد تفرغت منذ فرتة بشكل كامل ملمارسة هواية القفز باملظالت والتي من‬ ‫املؤكد تتطلب جمهود جسدي وذهني كبريين‪ ،‬ومتكنت من احلصول على إجازة‬ ‫للقفز باملظالت‪ .‬وكما استقلت من وظيفتي للسبب نفسه‪.‬‬ ‫‪21‬‬

Fadi Al-Bunni, 19 AUK International Relations I have been depressed and it’s caused by such a huge range of factors but the best way in dealing with depression is to stay focused and positive.

Hadi Al Bunni, 19, AUK Social and Behavioral Sciences I think depression is caused by isolation and loneliness; letting people into your life helps lessen the effects of depression.

THIS MONTH WE ASKED STUDENTS ABROAD How do you maintain your optimism while being away from family and friends in Kuwait? And does culture shock cause depression? Ahmad AL-Hussaini, 22, Dublin Business School (DBS), Human Resource I usually obtain my optimism by walking in the beautiful weather, in the parks, or by sitting in the park and observing the happiness around me or even going to the gym sometimes. The culture shocked me, only in the beginning but with time you get used to things. It astound me because I noticed that everything has a price. For examples, if you want to go to the bathroom in a mall you have to pay money in order to enter the bathroom. Also, the plastic bags in Kuwait are given for free but here it is viewed as if it’s something with value. However, as a culture they are super friendly and always happy, to see smiles around you all time is enough to invest positivity within your day.

Mahdi Bin-Asri, 20, Deakin University, Mechanical Engineering The main reason to being optimistic all the time is knowing that at the end of this long journey, I’ll make my family proud, and most importantly I’ll be proud of myself and my accomplishments. As we all know, not every person is actually able to face the culture differences and the far away distance from home as well as being independent. It usually comes so suddenly, and if you’re smart enough you would embrace the feeling of independency and aloneness. Different cultures are more optimistic than depressing, only unsociable people might feel depressed. Honestly, I loved the new experiences and until now I had all my favorite mates around me. We made the best of it and I truly believe that I’m living the happiest moments of my life in Australia.

You have to get used to a lot of things, starting from the language to the culture—the way people behave here is different than in the Middle East. Every country has a different way of life and culture, and many aspects of that affect an international student. The student can be either open minded about this cultural difference or judgmental about it. You have to take it in and absorb it, then relax and understand that these people don’t see their ways as different. That has been my experience living and studying abroad. Culture shock is ugly; you’d look at this foreign world around you and think that it’s all wrong, that people are acting wrong. This causes depression, anxiety and a range of other emotions that you can’t exactly control. But in no time, you would get used to it all and that depression would soon fade away. Focusing on your school work helps, and socializing is a good place to start—you need people to keep you on your feet at all times. In order to remain optimistic, you have to look at it as a new experience. This is a different world and I am the alien in it. You have to understand

that you’re on your own now, without your parents guiding your every step. You look after yourself just as they did when they were your age. This is an adventure and you are the protagonist, exploring every inch of this deep and historically rich land. That is how you make it as an international student, by being invested and remembering why you’re actually here.

‫هل تم تكريم الطلبة المتفوقين في مصر؟‬ ‫اإلحتاد الوطني لطلبة الكويت بجمهورية مصر العربية يقوم سنويًا بتكرمي الطلبة‬ ‫املتفوقني يف مشروع التخرج بتقدير إمتياز‪ ،‬بصفتي الطالب احلاصل على‬ ‫املركز األول فقد مت تكرميي من رئيس املكتب الثقايف يف مصر الدكتور فريح‬ ‫عويد والعنزي وأيضا ممثل امللحق الثقايف الكويتي الدكتور شايع سعود الشايع‪،‬‬ ‫فض ًال عن تكرمي الطلبة الكويتيني املتفوقني يف مصر‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو طموحك كمهندس معماري بالنسبة للكويت؟‬ ‫كأي مهندس معماري آخر‪ ،‬طموحي هو عمل تصميم يأخذ دوره كرمز للدوله‬ ‫فاملباين ترسم مالمح الدوله فال نذكر أي عاصمه أو مدينه إال ويرسم لها يف‬ ‫خميلتنا مبنى مميز أو طابع املدينه املعماري‪ ،‬وهذا ما أمتنى أن أحققه يف‬ ‫جمال الهندسة املعماري يف الكويت‪.‬‬ ‫كيف تنظم وقتك ما بين الدراسه وحياتك اإلجتماعيه؟‬ ‫الطالب املتفوق هو الشخص القادر على إجناز الواجبات املطلوبة منه يف‬ ‫وقتها دون اإلعتماد على التأجيل‪ ،‬وهذه هي اخلطة التي كنت أتبعها يف‬ ‫دراستي يف مصر حتى أنني ال ألتزم يف تقسيم الوقت‪.‬‬ ‫هل هناك خطوات معينه تتبعها حتي تمكنت من التفوق؟‬ ‫املشاريع الهندسيه عباره عن منافسه التتفوق فيها إال الفكره املميزه‬ ‫فالهندسه املعماريه ال تنحصر على جمال املبنى بل مبا يقدمه من خدمات‬ ‫كتوليد الطاقه وتقدمي دوره األساسي فمن املعروف أن الشكل يخدم الوظيفه‬ ‫املراده للمبنى ال العكس‪.‬‬ ‫كلمه أخيره‪.‬‬ ‫ال بد أن أتوجه بالشكر لوالدي ووالدتي الذين ساندوين طوال فرتة دراستي‪ ،‬فضالً‬ ‫إىل دور الهيئة التدريسية يف جامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا لتقدمي كافة‬ ‫الدعم الالزم وصو ًال للتفوق‪.‬‬

‫محمد فهاد الديحاني‬ ‫هدفي أن أرسم نظرة مستقبليه‬ ‫للكويت لتكون مركز مالي وتجاري‬ ‫الطالب المتفوق محمد فهاد المطيري‪ ،‬تخرج من كلية الهندسة المعمارية‬ ‫في جامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا‪ ،‬وتفوق في مشروع التخرج الذي‬ ‫قدمه بتقدير إمتياز‪ ،‬وبعد سنوات من التعب والمثابرة تمكن من الوصول‬ ‫ألول هدف في حياته على أمل أن يتمكن في السنوات القادمة من تحقيق‬ ‫أحالمه المستقبلية في الكويت‪ .‬التقته مجلة ‪ STUDENTALK‬لنتعرف بشكل‬ ‫أكبر على مشروع تخرجه وأهدافه المستقبلية‪.‬‬ ‫لماذا التحقت في جامعه مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا؟‬ ‫ألي طالب راغب يف اإللتحاق يف كلية الهندسة تعترب بالنسبة له جامعة‬ ‫مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا فرصة لتحقيق أهدافه‪ ،‬لذلك سعيت للحصول على‬ ‫الشهادة اجلامعية يف الهندسة املعمارية من هذه اجلامعة ومتكنت من‬ ‫حتقيق مراتب متقدمة والتفوق يف هذا اجملال‪ .‬وبعد اإللتحاق يف اجلامعة‬ ‫وجدت نخبة من الهيئة التدريسية املتفوقة يف هذا اجملال ويف مقدمتهم‬ ‫املعماري الدكتور هشام جريشة صاحب مشروع «غزه هاوس»‪.‬‬ ‫ماهو سبب أختيارك تخصص هندسه معماريه؟‬ ‫العمارة أصحبت يف يومنا هذا مستقبل أي بلد خاصة أن الدول أصبحت تعتمد‬ ‫على التصميم الهندسي املميز والغريب للمباين السكنية والتجارية واجملمعات‬ ‫وغريها الكثري‪ .‬وعلى صعيد شخصي أعترب الهندسة املعمارية واجهة‬ ‫ملستقبل أي مدينة وبلدنا الكويت حتتاج إىل نهضة يف هذا اجملال كما أنني على‬ ‫إطالع دائم باملباين الذكية والتي كانت من أكرث األمور التي شجعتني لإللتحاق يف‬ ‫جامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا واإللتحاق يف كلية الهندسة‪.‬‬ ‫ماهي الصعوبات التي واجهتك خالل فترة دراستك؟‬ ‫أي طالب جامعي متفوق من املؤكد أنه سيواجه صعوبات لكن احلمد اهلل جميع‬ ‫الصعوبات التي واجهتني مل تشكل يل عائقًا لتحقيق حلمي بل كانت حافزًا لتكملة‬ ‫مشواري التعليمي يف هذا اجملال‪ .‬وباإلضافة إىل ذلك من الصعب على أي‬ ‫شخص أن يتبعد عن أسرته ووطنه وأصدقائه لكن كنت متأكد من أن هذه فرتة‬ ‫مؤقته وسأعود إىل وطني‪.‬‬ ‫ماذا عن فكرة المشروع التخرج؟‬ ‫مشروع التخرج هو «مطار الكويت الدويل يف جزيرة بوبيان» يعترب فكرة فلسفية‬ ‫هو عبارة عن طائرة كونكورد التي حطمت زجاج املطارات وهشمت مدرجاتها‬ ‫وهي طائرة مدنية حيث فاقت سرعتها الصوت ‪ ،‬وللدالله علي قوه الكتله ومما‬ ‫رفع املشروع وميزه عن بقيه املشاريع املتاحه املساهمه يف توليد الطاقه‬ ‫أثناء هبوط وإقالع الطائرات يف املطار‪ ،‬ومبنى الركاب املزود بألواح شمسيه‬ ‫وحمطه ترانزيت عامليه لربط الشرق بالغرب والشمال باجلنوب ملوقع الكويت‬ ‫يف الشرق األوسط‪ ،‬ولدعم وتعزيز مدينه احلرير كنظره مستقبليه للكويت‬ ‫كمركز مايل وجتاري‪.‬‬ ‫‪29‬‬

AUK Celebrates Academic Achievements of its Top Students The American University of Kuwait (AUK) held its semi-annual President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Honor List ceremony in recognition of the top academic achievers for Spring 2013 Semester. The ceremony was held in the AUK Auditorium, where fellow students, parents, AUK faculty members and staff, as well as members of the AUK Board Trustees attended the ceremony to support the students being recognized. AUK Interim President Dr. Nizar Hamzeh and the colleges’ interim deans were present to honor the students and celebrate their achievements. The ceremony commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Hamzeh, in which he expressed his pride in the students and welcomed the guests to join him in celebrating their academic achievements.

Finance Club of AUK presents Small Business Week A week dedicated to highlight the achievements of individuals that started small and now are extremely successful. AUK had a special guest Mr. Mohammed Ben Essa, he’s an actor, restauranteur, combat trainer, and entrepreneur. He owns 10.0h.8, Haus Café, Just Desserts by 10.oh.8, and Concrete Copper. On Thursday, Mr. Mohammed changed things around instead of the usually lecture setting; he suggested moving to the back and make it more comfortable by sitting on floor in a circle. He talked about where he studied and how he tried a few jobs but did not feel it was fit for him. He discussed how the idea of 10.oh.8 came along, and through that he was able to open Haus Café, then he accidently got introduced to acting when he was studying culinary in London. Lastly he challenged everyone in the room to either make a difference in the world, or take a risk. He brought handouts to encourage everyone.

‫لوياك يقيم حملة “رسالة معاق” في‬ ‫مجمع ‪ 360‬في اليوم العالمي للتطوع‬ ‫تزامنا مع اليوم العاملي للمعاق والتطوع اقامت لوياك حملة حتت شعار “رسالة معاق”‬ ‫يف جممع ‪ ،360‬وذلك مبشاركة عدد من املراكز التطوعية وهم مركز اخلرايف ألنشطة‬ ‫األطفال املعاقني ومركز عبري ‪ 2‬التطوعي ومعهد براديس للتدريب األهلي‪.‬‬ ‫تضمنت احلملة عدد من الفعاليات أهمها رسالة كتبها املعاق إىل من يهمه األمر‬ ‫حتمل يف طياتها مشكلة ما تواجهه أو أمل وحلم يحلم به أو غريه‪ ،‬وقام املشاركون‬ ‫أيضا من ذوي اإلحتياجات اخلاصة بتوزيع الورود على رواد اجملمع ليذكروا الناس أن هناك‬ ‫إحتفال عاملي خاص بيوم التطوع واملعاق‪ ،‬تضمنت احلملة أيضا معرض للمشغوالت‬ ‫اليدوية من أعمال املراكز املشاركة ‪ ،‬وانشدت مرمي املشموم بعض القصائد عن احالم‬ ‫وقوة ارادة املعاق‪.‬‬ ‫وبهذا الصدد صرحت يسرى العيسي مسؤولة برامج التطوع احمللية يف لوياك “إعتدنا‬ ‫ومنذ نشأة لوياك اإلهتمام بتلك الفئة ونقيم لهم العديد من الفعاليات وأن لدينا برنامج‬ ‫خاص للتطوع يحمل إسم التطوع سعادتي”‪ .‬وأوضحت جاءت فكرة رسالة معاق جاءت‬ ‫من خالل تواجدنا الدائم مع تلك الفئة من خالل تطوع طلبة لوياك لديهم وشعرنا أن‬ ‫لديهم بعض األحالم واملشاكل التى يتمنوا أن تتحقق‪ ،‬لذلك وجدنا الفكرة يف هذه‬ ‫املناسبة لنسمع ما لديهم وجنمع تلك الرسائل لتوصيلها اىل وزير الدولة لشئون‬ ‫الشباب ملساعدتهم يف حتقيق تلك األمنيات‪”.‬‬ ‫وأفادت العيسي بأن جميع املشغوالت املوجودة باملعرض هي من أعمال فئة ذوي‬ ‫اإلحتياجات اخلاصة الذين جند لديهم دائما مواهب تبحث عن من يرعاها‪ ،‬ففي النهاية‬ ‫تلك الفئة متثل شريحة كبرية يف اجملتمع ال ميكن اغفالها وعندما نضع لهم الفرص‬ ‫للنهوض بهم جند طاقات كبرية من املؤكد أنها تنفعهم وتنفع جمتمعهم‪.‬‬ ‫‪32‬‬

‫بين الطاقة اإليجابية والسلبية‬ ‫ما هو سبب التشاؤم‪ ،‬وما هو مدى إنتشاره بين طلبة الجامعة؟‬ ‫الطاقة اإليجابية والطاقة السلبية‪ ،‬التفاؤل والتشاؤم‪ ،‬األمل واليأس جميعها مصطلحات أصبحت متدوالة بشكل كبير في أيامنا الحالية نظرًا للحروب‬ ‫والصراعات والمشاكل العالمية‪ ،‬فض ً‬ ‫ال عن المشاكل األسرية والضغوطات اليومية التي لها دور بشكل أو بآخر في التأثير على نفسية األشخاص‪.‬‬ ‫ولألسف في مجتمعاتنا العربية نفتقد إلى الطرق الصحيحة لمعالجة هذه المشاكل‪ .‬إلتقت مجلة ‪ STUDENTALK‬مع عدد من طلبة الجامعة لنتعرف‬ ‫على مدى تأثير الطاقة اإليجابية في حياتهم الخاص وكيفية معالجتهم للمشاكل والضغوطات النفسية‪.‬‬ ‫يعترب الطالب عبد احلميد نوح‪ 21 ،‬عاما‪،‬‬ ‫تخصص علم نفس يف جامعة الكويت‬ ‫أن الطاقة اإليجابية لها دور أساسي‬ ‫يف حتفيز األشخاص لتقدمي األفضل‪،‬‬ ‫والعكس صحيح حيث أن الطاقة‬ ‫السلبية تساهم يف إحباط األشخاص‪،‬‬ ‫لذلك يجب أن يحرص الناس على إختيار‬ ‫املقربني منهم من الذين يتميزون‬ ‫بالطاقة اإليجابية التي ستنعكس عليهم‬ ‫بنفس الطريقة‪ .‬وتابع أن سلوك الفرد‬ ‫يتأثر بسلوك اجلماعة وبشكل عام يف‬ ‫الكويت مييل الناس إىل التشاؤم وهناك‬ ‫عديد من األسباب التي تدفعهم لذلك‬ ‫لكن من املؤسف أن يتعرض الشخص‬ ‫لإلستسالم‪.‬‬

‫يف حميطي لكن لألسف من الصعب‬ ‫مواجهتهم مبشكلتهم ألنه يفتقدون‬ ‫إىل الثقافة املتعلقة بالصحة النفسية‬ ‫وبالتايل يزداد وضعهم سوء من دون‬ ‫تلقي العالج املناسب والتي ميكن أن‬ ‫ينتج وقتها شخص سلبي يف اجملتمع‪.‬‬

‫عبداحلميد نوح‬ ‫ومن جهتها تؤكد الطالبة شيماء علي‪،‬‬ ‫‪ 22‬عامًا‪ ،‬تخصص أدب إجنليزي يف‬ ‫اجلامعة العربية املفتوحة أن ثقافة علم‬ ‫النفس يجب أن تكون جزء أساسي من‬ ‫املنهج الدراسي‪ ،‬وكما أنه يجب على‬ ‫الناس أن تتعامل مع الطبيب النفسي‬ ‫بنفس الطريقة التي يتم التعامل بها‬ ‫مع طبيب آخر خاصة أن املشاكل‬ ‫النفسية أصعب وأكرث خطورة من‬ ‫املشاكل العضوية‪ .‬وتابعت علي‪ ،‬هناك‬ ‫العديد من األشخاص املصابني باإلحباط‬ ‫‪37‬‬

‫أما الطالب عبداهلل األيوب‪ 19 ،‬عامًا‪،‬‬ ‫تخصص متويل يف جامعة الكويت‬ ‫يعترب أن موضوع التفاؤل والتشاؤم أمر‬ ‫مهم‪ ،‬إال أن التشاؤم منتشر بني الطلبة‬ ‫بشكل أكرب‪ .‬ويتابع األيوب‪ ،‬نفتقد يف‬ ‫الدول العربية إىل الربامج التوعية وإن‬ ‫وجد القليل التي تقدم اخلربات والتجارب‬ ‫الالزمة للطلبة يف كيفية التعامل مع‬ ‫املشكالت ومواجهة اإلحباط واليأس‬ ‫وحتويلهم إىل طاقات إيجابية‪.‬‬

‫وبالنسبة للطالبة شيخة الربيعة‪22 ،‬‬ ‫عاما‪ ،‬تخصص نظم املعلومات اإلدارية‬ ‫يف جامعة الكويت تشري أن الطاقة‬ ‫السلبية منتشرة بني طلبة اجلامعة‬ ‫وتعود أسبابها لوجود عدد كبري من‬ ‫الضغوطات اليومية‪ .‬وبشكل عام‬ ‫السبب األول لذلك الدراسة اجلامعية‬ ‫والضغوطات التي يتعرض لها الطلبة‬ ‫يف خمتلف اجملاالت‪ ،‬فض ًال عن وجود‬ ‫مشاكل احلياة اليومية التي تواجه أي‬ ‫إنسان‪ .‬وأضافت الربيعة أن الشخص‬ ‫قادر على حتويل الطاقة السلبية إىل‬ ‫إيجابية من خالل تقدمي الدعم لنفسه‬ ‫وإميانه بالقدرة على التغلب على‬ ‫الصعوبات واملشاكل التي قد تعرتض‬ ‫طريقة‪.‬‬ ‫ومن وجهة نظر الطالب أحمد دشتي‪،‬‬ ‫‪ 21‬عاما‪ ،‬تخصص متويل يف جامعة‬ ‫الكويت يؤكد أنه يحرص على التعامل‬ ‫مع أي أمر قد يسبب له اإلحباط بطريقة‬

‫مباشرة من دون التأجيل يف معاجلة‬ ‫املشكلة والتي تساهم بشكل كبري‬ ‫يف تطوير الشخصية وحتويل العقبة إىل‬ ‫دافع مهم‪ .‬ويتابع‪ ،‬أواجه بشكل مستمر‬ ‫اإلحباط خاصة عندما يتعلق األمر‬ ‫يف اإلختبارات اجلامعية ألنها تشكل‬ ‫عبء كبري على الطلبة وما أقوم به هو‬ ‫مواجهة املشكلة وإيجاد لها احلل يف‬ ‫أقرب وقت حتى ال تتحول إىل مشكلة أكرب‬ ‫قد ينتج عنها عواقب سلبية فيما بعد‪.‬‬ ‫أما الطالب حممد الشمري‪ 23 ،‬عامًا‪،‬‬ ‫تخصص أدب إجنليزي يف اجلامعة‬ ‫العربية املفتوحة يؤكد أن األمراض‬ ‫النفسية متواجدة بشكل أكرب يف‬ ‫جمتمعاتنا‪ ،‬ولكنها منتشرة يف جميع‬ ‫أنحاء العامل نظرًا للحروب التي أصبحت‬ ‫منتشرة بشكل كبري‪ .‬ويتابع الشمري‪،‬‬ ‫بالنسبة لزمالئي يف اجلامعة أالحظ‬ ‫إنتشار الطاقة السلبية والتشاؤم بني‬ ‫الطلبة بشكل كبري‪ ،‬ولألسف هناك‬ ‫عدد كبري من الطلبة عند مواجهته‬ ‫ألبسط مشكلة يف حياته تتحول فجأة‬ ‫إىل مصيبة كبرية يصعب حلها يف‬ ‫الوقت الذي ميكن التعامل معها بهدوء‬ ‫وبحكمة‪.‬‬

‫عبداهلل األيوب‬ ‫وتخالفها يف الرأي الطالبة بشاير‬ ‫حممد‪ 18 ،‬عامًا‪ ،‬يف جامعة الكويت‬ ‫حيث تشري أن األمراض النفسية سببها‬ ‫اإلبتعاد عن اهلل والتعاليم الدينية واألمر‬ ‫ال يتعلق بثقافة الصحة النفسية يف‬ ‫جمتمعاتنا‪ .‬وتقول حممد‪ ،‬من املؤكد‬ ‫أن العصر الذي نعيشه يف أيامنا هذه‬ ‫والتكنولوجيا املتطورة التي حولت العامل‬ ‫بأكمله إىل قرية صغرية ومتابعة احلروب‬ ‫ومشاهد القتل والدمار تخلق نوع من‬ ‫التشاؤم واإلحباط واخلوف وكل ما هناك‬ ‫من طاقة سلبية لكن تختفي مبجرد‬ ‫توقف احلديث عنها أوعدم مشاهدتها‬ ‫وبالتايل هي وليدة اللحظة‪.‬‬

‫ما هي البرامج المقرر تنفيذها داخل الكويت؟‬ ‫نعمل حاليًا على مؤمتر سيقام يف الكويت خالل شهر فرباير حتت عنوان «أهمية‬ ‫التفكري بطريقة عاملية» لزيادة الوعي لدى الطالب‪ ،‬حيث أننا الحظنا أنه من أبرز‬ ‫املشاكل لدى الطالب يف الكويت عدم القدرة على التعامل مع أشخاص جدد‪.‬‬ ‫وسيشارك يف املؤمتر عدد كبري من أعضاء املنظمة من خمتلف دول العامل‬ ‫لتكون فرصة مميزة لتبادل اخلربات والثقافات والتواصل مع طالب جدد‪.‬‬ ‫وكيف يتم تنظيم الرحالت الخارجية؟‬ ‫نتلقى دعوة من منظمة آيزيك من خمتلف الدول ونقوم بإرسال عدد من‬ ‫األعضاء الراغبني يف برنامج مدته ‪ 6‬أسابيع يتضمن العديد من األنشطة‬ ‫والفعاليات والتي جميعها تؤثر بشكل إيجابي على شخصية الطلبة‪.‬‬

‫هل هناك شروط لإلنضمام إلى آيزيك؟‬ ‫بالنسبة للمنظمة فهي تسعى إىل حتديد الفئة املستهدفة وهم طالب‬ ‫اجلامعة و حديثو التخرج‪ ،‬وأن ترتاوح أعمارهم بني ‪ 30-18‬عام‪ .‬فض ًال عن أهمية‬ ‫القدرة على التواصل باللغة اإلجنليزية ألن الربامج التي تعتمد عليها املنظمة‬ ‫تتطلب تعاون مع أشخاص من خمتلف اجلنسيات‪ .‬وعلى الراغبني باإلنضمام‬ ‫أن يكونوا قادرين على اإللتزام باحلضور حيث أننا ننظم إجتماعات رسمية مرة أو‬ ‫مرتني أسبوعيًا‪ ،‬يف حني أننا نعمل على مدار األسبوع‪.‬‬

‫ما هو سبب إنضمامك آليزك؟‬ ‫من املهم أن يبحث أي فرد على وسيلة تساعده يف تطوير نفسه‪ ،‬وهذا‬ ‫ما وجدته لدى منظمة آيزيك التي خاصة أنني شاركت يف رحالت إىل سريلنكا‬ ‫وروسيا والصني‪ ،‬وإلتقيت مع عدد كبري من األشخاص بإختالف الثقافات‬ ‫والدول‪ .‬ومن أبرز التغيريات التي طرأت على شخصيتي متثلت يف قدرتي على‬ ‫احملاضرة أمام عدد كبري من األشخاص وكسرت لدي حاجز اخلوف الذي كنت‬ ‫أعاين منه‪.‬‬ ‫هل هناك شخصيات عالمية إنضمت لهذه المنظمة؟‬ ‫ينضم سنويًا إىل املنظمة على صعيد عاملي عدد كبري من الطلبة‪ ،‬ومن املؤكد‬ ‫أنهم يحققون إجنازات يف حياتهم املهنية‪ ،‬ولكن هناك أسماء بارزة منهم بيل‬ ‫كلينتون‪ ،‬وجون إف كينيدي‪ ،‬وكويف عنان من أشهر األشخاص عامليني والذين‬ ‫سبق وكانوا أعضاء يف آيزيك‪.‬‬

‫محمود ميرزا‪:‬‬ ‫تبادل الخبرات بين الطلبة يساهم في‬ ‫تثقيف الشخصية‬ ‫تأسست منظمة آيزيك عام ‪ 1948‬وتحديدًا بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية‬ ‫لتكون منظمة شبابية عالمية غير ربحية‪ ،‬وإنطلقت المنظمة بمبادرة من‬ ‫عدد من الطالب بهدف تبادل الخبرات فيما بينهم بما يعود بمنفعة‬ ‫إيجابية على حياتهم الخاصة‪ .‬إنضمت الكويت لهذه المنظمة الذي بدأ‬ ‫العمل بها في شهر سبتمبر ‪ 2013‬من خالل مجموعة طالب من داخل‬ ‫الكويت‪ ،‬أما رئيس المنظمة فرع الكويت هو محمود ميرزا المبتعث من‬ ‫منظمة آيزيك البحرين‪ .‬التقته مجلة ‪ STUDENTALK‬لنتعرف على أهم‬ ‫أهداف المنظمة واإلنجازات التي تم تحقيقها والطموحات المستقبلية‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو الهدف من منظمة آيزيك؟‬ ‫تعتمد الدول بشكل عام على الطاقات الشبابية الذين لديهم دور يف التأثري على‬ ‫اجملتمع‪ ،‬ولذلك تسعى املنظمة إىل أن يكون هذا الدور إيجابي من خالل إبراز‬ ‫الطاقات الشبابية عن طريق دمج األعضاء يف برامج تطوعية تهدف إىل خدمة‬ ‫اجملتمع‪ ،‬خاصة أن ‪ 124‬دولة يف العامل أعضاء يف هذه املنظمة وبالتايل تبادل‬ ‫اخلربات يساهم بشكل كبري يف تثقيف شخصية الطلبة املشاركني من خالل‬ ‫الربامج التي يشاركون بها‪.‬‬ ‫ما هي البرامج التي تعتمد عليها المنظمة؟‬ ‫ابتعاث الطلبة بشكل أساسي يف دول خارجية للمشاركة يف أعمال تطوعية‬ ‫الهدف منها زيادة وعي الشباب عن بقية احلضارات وبالتايل عندما يتسلم‬ ‫الشباب أي منصب يف املستقبل سيكون لهم دور قيادي وشخصية متميزة‪.‬‬ ‫ما هي الدول العربية المتواجدة بها المنظمة؟‬ ‫املنظمة حتى اليوم متواجدة يف البحرين وعمان وتعترب هاتني الدولتني من‬ ‫أقوى الدولة العربية املنضمة إىل املنظمة وتليها اإلمارات العربية املتحدة‬ ‫وقطر ولبنان ومصر واملغرب وتونس واجلزائر‪ ،‬ومؤخرًا الكويت‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو سبب إختيارك لرئاسة المنظمة في الكويت؟‬ ‫بعد تخرجي من اجلامعة تخصص هندسة‪ ،‬إنضممت إىل منظمة آيزيك‬ ‫البحرين‪ ،‬وبشكل عام يجب أن يكون رئيس املنظمة على معرفة واسعة‬ ‫بأهداف املنظمة حتى يكون قادر على نشرها يف الدول اجلديدة التي تنظم‬ ‫إىل املنظمة‪ .‬ويتم إختيار رئيس لهذه املنظمة سنويًا عن طريق اإلنتخاب وهذا‬ ‫ينطبق على جميع الدول املشاركة يف املنظمة‪.‬‬

‫أبرز المشاكل لدى الطالب في‬ ‫الكويت عدم القدرة على التعامل‬ ‫مع أشخاص جدد‬ ‫‪39‬‬

‫كم طالب كويتي مشارك في المنظمة؟‬ ‫حتى اليوم لدينا فقط ‪ 15‬طالب وهذا يعترب رقم جيد خاصة أن املنظمة مل‬ ‫يتعدى وجودها يف الكويت أكرث من ‪ 5‬أشهر ونحن نسعى إىل زيادة هذا العدد‬ ‫يف الوقت القريب‪.‬‬

‫ما هي أهداف مؤسسة إيثار؟‬ ‫نساعد الغري بطريقه خمتلفه وغري مألوفه‪ ،‬فالعطاء ليس شرط دائم أن يرتبط‬ ‫باألمور املادية فهناك أنواع أخرى من الدعم منها املعنوي من خالل رسم‬ ‫اإلبتسامة على وجوههم‪ .‬لذلك من أهم أهدافنا نشر السالم بني الناس‪ ،‬ألننا نؤمن‬ ‫شخصيا أن السالم من السهل حتقيقه بثالث مبادئ وهم التعايش واحلب واألمان‪،‬‬ ‫حيث يكملون بعضهم البعض‪.‬‬

‫كيف يمكن للراغبين اإلنضمام إلى إيثار؟‬ ‫تضم اجملموعة اليوم ما يقارب ‪ 12‬عضو من خمتلف اجلامعات وحديثي التخرج‪،‬‬ ‫وللراغبني ميكن اإلنضمام بكل سهولة من خالل التواصل مع املؤسسة عن طريق‬ ‫االنستجرام والتويرت ‪ @ethar_found‬أو ‪،@ethar_group‬‬ ‫أو عن طريق الواتساب‪ ‬للشباب ‪ ،65000702‬وللبنات ‪.90088025‬‬

‫ما هي أقسام المؤسسة؟‬ ‫ينقسم العمل مع إيثار يف ‪ 6‬أقسام وللراغبني اإلختيار القسم الذي يناسبهم‪،‬‬ ‫القسم اإلنساني‪ :‬يختص بجميع املساعدات اإلنسانيه والتربعات‪ ،‬حيث نقوم‬ ‫مبساعدة كل حمتاج حتت دافع اإلنسانية يف نفوسنا‪.‬‬ ‫قسم التربيه والتعليم‪ :‬بهدف تشجيع الطلبة على العطاء والتطوع وتقويتهم‬ ‫من ناحيه حتديد األهداف باحلياه وحتفيزهم على تنفيذها‪.‬‬ ‫قسم الصحه‪ :‬تتعلق بالنشاطات التوعوية والثقافية يف اجملال الصحي‪ ،‬والقيام‬ ‫بدورات يف اإلسعافات األولية‪ ،‬ومساعدة املرضى‪ ،‬ومساعدة الغري قادرين على‬ ‫دفع رسوم العالج‪.‬‬ ‫قسم البيئه‪ :‬الهدف منها أن نخلق باجملتمع فئة تهتم بالبئية للمحافظه عليها‬ ‫من التلوث لتكون بيئة نظيفة غري مسببة لألمراض‪ ،‬فض ًال عن العمل على إعادة‬ ‫التدوير‪.‬‬ ‫قسم الرفق بالحيوان‪ :‬تتضمن نشاطات توعوية وتعليمية عن الرفق باحليوان‪،‬‬ ‫ومساعدة احليوانات الضالة واملريضة وإيوائها يف املالجئ اخملتصة‪.‬‬ ‫قسم الرياضه‪ :‬تشجيع الناس على ممارسة الرياضات اخملتلفه وتوعيتهم‬ ‫بأهميتها‪ ،‬والقيام بالنشاطات واملاراثونات الرياضية‪.‬‬

‫خالد الشمالي‪:‬‬ ‫نسعى للتطوع ليس باألمور المادية‬ ‫فقط لكن بنشر ثقافة التطوع‬ ‫إيثار هي مؤسسة تطوعية غير ربحية‪ ،‬أسسها الطالب محمد الشمالي‬ ‫عام ‪ 2013‬تخصص تمويل وإستثمار في جامعة الشرق األوسط األمريكية‬ ‫بمبادرة منه بهدف نشر روح ثقافة العمل التطوعي وتقديم الدعم‬ ‫المعنوي أو المادي‪ .‬وتوسعت المؤسسة لتضم اليوم ‪ 12‬متطوع كويتي‬ ‫هدفهم خدمة المواطنين والمقيمين في الكويت‪ .‬لتتعرف أكثر على‬ ‫نشاط وأهداف المؤسسة إلتقت مجلة ‪ STUDENTALK‬مع صاحب فكرة‬ ‫إيثار وأجرت معه الحوار التالي‪.‬‬ ‫كيف إنطلقت بفكرة مؤسسة إيثار التطوعية؟‬ ‫بدأت الفكرة من خالل مشاركتنا وجبة الغذاء مع عدد من العمالة الوافدة يف مكان‬ ‫عملهم‪ ،‬والحظنا أن لديهم حب املشاركة والتعاون‪ ،‬فض ًال عن سعادتهم عندما‬ ‫قررنا تناول وجبة الغذاء املشرتك معهم‪ ،‬ووقتها إنطلق املشروع التطوعي إيثار‬ ‫ليتضمن خمتلف األعمال التطوعية واإلنسانية وغريها الكثري‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو أول عمل شاركت المؤسسة به؟‬ ‫أول عمل كان يف معرض جامعة الشرق األوسط األمريكية حيث قمنا ببيع العطور‬ ‫والشاالت‪ ،‬والهدف من وراء ذلك هو تشجيع الناس أن تقدم التربعات من خالل‬ ‫شرائها املنتجات التي نعرضها‪ .‬وريع مشاركتنا يف املعرض كان ملساعدة‬ ‫احملتاجني يف سوريا‪ ،‬ومساعدة دور األيتام‪.‬‬ ‫كيف تصف أول مشاركة للمؤسسة؟‬ ‫مل نتوقع ردة الفعل اإليجابية من احلاضرين واملشاركني يف املعرض‪ ،‬خاصة‬ ‫بعدما تعرفوا على مؤسسة إيثار والهدف منها‪.‬‬

STREET STYLE FASHION AT SHABBY BOUTIQUE Passionate about the street style, Dana Jawhar, established Shabby Boutique during her AUK days. She found difficulty running her business that time, however, after her graduation she got back on her feet. To know more about Shabby Boutique, STUDENTALK Magazine conducted an interview with Jawhar to be more familiar with her fashion trends.

How do you ensure that you are always up to date with the fashion trends? I have always been a huge fan of street style. I love seeing stylish people especially when it clearly shows how unique and effortless their style is. I am not a believer that something has to be expensive to be stylish and going against the rules of fashion is truly inspiring! Social media and social networking has opened up a world that allows us to keep up to date with what’s in and what’s trending. I still buy magazines and love browsing through them but I also do love Instagram. I follow trends setters and tons of fashion related accounts to get inspiration. Another favorite of mine would have to be Pinterest, I constantly browse through the App!

What differentiates shabby Boutique from any other boutique? I am a very casual and laid back person and that clearly comes across in the way I dress. The beauty of choice has been always important hence why I give my customers the choice of t-shirt color, font , cut and so much more! I LOVE casual t-shirts but could never locally find unique yet trendy ones that I could pair with my favorite jeans. I feel Shabby is a place where you can find that everyday t-shirt, whether you are a casual person like me or want to pair it with a blazer and heels! I love seeing girls in my t-shirts its lovely to see how they’ve styled them as outfits for just an everyday Tee are endless! Also as I am half Kuwaiti, I am passionate about my intricate, meaningful and unique Kuwait Jewelry Collection, which allows customers the choice to place a diamond where their home is on the map give it that extra special! I love to give the choice of unique pieces that you can put your own spin on!

Who inspired you to open your own business? My family definitely. I actually started Shabby Chique back during my university days, but when it was crunch time to graduate, I found it very hard to balance Shabby with university work. Therefore, I decided that Shabby would have to be put on hold. After I graduated, it was my mom who pushed me to start it again, telling me that I should just go for it. Even on bad days she always sees the good which is so encouraging! My brother is a true inspiration of doing something that you’re passionate about and is the person I go to for so much advice, and my dad is where I got my hard worker side from!

What are your potential plans for shabby boutique? Definitely , my plans in the very near future is to start shipping internationally and cater not only to the Kuwaiti market also to have my own boutique and tons of new trendy collections coming soon!

Any last Words? As cliché as this sounds, never give up! Timing is key, and if it doesn’t happen the first time it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try again. Everything starts off as an idea, allow yourself to be inspired, write everything down, I do! Shabby didn’t happen the first time, but I tried again when the timing was right. Lastly, always be passionate about what you do!

Fahad Almarzouq & Khaleda Rajab for Linda Farrow The dynamic duo, Fahad Almarzouq and Khaleda Rajab have successfully established their names in fashion as a unit as well as individually by continuously pushing the boundaries of what is considered to be the norms. They have triumphed in their collections and caught the world’s attention with their unique personal style and presentation and have been featured in many publications as well as being favourites among the street style elites. Their new collaboration with the London based sunglasses brand Linda Farrow is perfectly fitting as the established brand has been producing luxurious collections that are innovative and cutting-edge since 1970. Linda Farrow has collaborated with many other top designers such as Matthew Williamson, The Row, Alexander Wang, Dries Van Noten and Oscar de la Renta! Fahad and Khaleda are the first designers from the Middle-East to design for Linda Farrow. We had the pleasure of sitting down with the lovely designers for a one-on-one on their new sunglasses collection for Linda Farrow at Eye Boutique Kuwait in The Avenues Mall hours before the launch.

How did the collaboration between the both of you and the brand happen? We both love sunglasses, we have been friends for a long time and have always been collaborating together, so when we met the Linda Farrow team it was inevitable that this collection would be made. It has happened naturally. Meeting Simon and Tracy, as they were getting to know us they noticed we literally have every pair of sunglasses of theirs and saw our designs and loved them. They loved us and we already had loved them. This is just the first collection that has been released. You will be seeing more of our designs in 2015.

What is the most unique aspect of your sunglass collection, besides being outrageous? The typical cat-eye sunglasses have always been made with two lenses. We designed them with four.

Are there any arguments that happen whilst working together? We do banter, we always fight!

Who usually wins? Fahad: Khaleda! She always wins.

What trends do you foresee catching on this season? Fahad: Leather. We are obsessed with leather! Khaleda: I think for girls the main trend will be tailored suits in different colours. I see it being very minimal and chic but with accessorizing such as with hats. Loose coats will be big as well. However for Spring/Summer I think style-wise it will be very tomboyish. I think that will be coming back in. Fahad: …that includes overalls and tied shirts around the waist and turned around hats. We are loving beanie hats and caps!

What colours should we be expecting more of in the upcoming months? Mostly it will be solids and dark colours. It will be mostly white, black and burgundies.

Where are you currently based? On a plane!

Where do you find inspiration? We inspire each other.

For someone who has not worn a statement piece such as these sunglasses, what styling tips can you recommend? You can stay simple since the sunglasses are such a statement. So you can wear the sunglasses and then stay simple with the rest of the outfit. Or you can make it a head to toe look and style yourself to match the sunglasses. It is always best to experiment and see what feels right for you.

Since you travel a lot do you have any travelling tips such as how to simplify packing? We really haven’t mastered it. We are constantly over the weight limit. We still have not managed to travel without excessive baggage since we love to change outfits a few times throughout the day and you never know what events may come up so we end up just taking everything! The more the merrier.

What are your future plans? Global Domination! We are merging our brands and working on accessories.

HAYA AL- FASSAM INTRODUCES NEW FASHION COLLECTION TO KUWAIT

Haya Al-Fassam travelled around the world and was introduced to several fashion styles. While being mesmerized by all the fashion trends from country to country, she decided to take a big step. Her goal was to bring all these fashion trends and styles to Kuwait, and she did! Bliss Boutique at Burj Jassim embraces the urban look from several countries. The collection includes contemporary pieces from pants, gloves, t-shirts, jackets, dresses, shoes, headpieces and even sunglasses. To know more about Bliss’s collection, here is an interview with Al-Fassam brought to you by STUDENTALK Magazine.

Why did you choose “Bliss” as a name for your boutique? I chose Bliss as a name for my boutique because the word defines me on a personal level. I try as much as possible to be joyful and happy, and bestowing joy and happiness to my costumers is a goal that I am keen to achieve. The name also defines my own collection as every customer feels blissful every time they try or buy any of my items, as I have been told. Therefore, it is the perfect name to define myself and my collection as well.

How do you manage your marketing activities for Bliss Boutique? I like to create events once in a while to introduce customers to the brands we import from outside of Kuwait and create trafficking at Bliss Boutique. Another marketing activity we conducted are the Instagram competitions to create awareness and market brands at the boutique. And of course advertising in local magazines such as STUDENTALK Magazine in order to increase awareness amongst my special target market, the university students.

What inspired you to penetrate the fashion market in Kuwait? Traveling around the world is my own source of happiness. As a I travel all over the world, I see different trending styles that are very appealing to anyone who loves fashion and it makes me wonder, why not start a business that embraces all of these styles? No need to travel to find the perfect item for your daily look, it is all available here at Bliss Boutique.

How do you choose your items? I tend to choose my items based on what’s popular during the time, although sometimes these styles would not complement my personal taste.

What are the best sellers at Bliss Boutique? The best sellers so far are the Yosi Samra flats, as well as the denim jeans, we have different well known brands like Paige, Joe’s, DL1961, and a new brand called Bluelab which is my favorite because its reversible and you can wear it two sides!

What are the upcoming trends for Spring 2014? I am loving the collection that is coming up for the Spring 2014. There are several bright colors, cropped jackets, and some masculine inspired looks. I can’t wait for Spring collection to be at Bliss Boutique.

How did you manage to overcome the obstacles you faced? My personal life motto is to “never give up”. This is how I face obstacles in both my personal life and my business. I also tend to solve the problems I face and move on rather than whining about it.

Resilience Resilient people are aware of the current situation at hand. They comprehend that it is alright for people to encounter stress. After becoming more cautious of the situation, they take control of it. They do not blame the stressful event on outside events. Don’t be ashamed, ask for professional help! Sometimes we stress because of lack of ability to solve a problem. Let’s a common dilemma, Math. Everyone complains about Math! You can blame the mathematicians and professors for adding letters in an equation and whine about how you will never pass an exam. Or you can ask professional help from a professor or a tutor.

Just like Whitney Houston said, yes you will survive. It is not the end of the world if you failed an exam, lost a loved one or gotten into trouble. The art of moving on should be mastered. Inevitably, you will be stressed but what’s important is that you know you will be okay. Just like all my friends used to say “it is not the end of the world until everything is okay!”

What is your definition of fun? Shopping, traveling, sports, or if you are a workaholic you can even work more! Fun is what you want it to be! Do whatever what makes you happy even if you talent is to make ridiculous weird shakes, if it makes you happy, DO IT!

Appreciate it life is a roller coaster it goes up, goes down and it has its twists. When it goes up, appreciate the optimism and the opportunities you have at the moment. When it goes down, appreciate the hard times that will make you even stronger in the future. In conclusion, appreciate! Blood pressure, heart problems, and body aching; that’s not what you what right? Yes, you are too young for that! Be positive to maintain mental and physical stability. Life will only come once, being positive is the best way to live it, YOLO!

My name is Hashim Al Nasser. Playing guitar, singing and creating my own music along with creating music with my band is my passion. I have been writing and composing music for 10 years now. What is your talent? I’m a writer and musician, specialising in song writing and guitar playing.

How did you develop your talent? Originally I borrowed a friends guitar in 2003 and taught myself how to play. Since then I’ve been in a number of bands and have written a bunch of material for both my blues-rock band ‘Jelly Shot’ and my solo experimental project ‘Jivan’.

Did you encounter any obstacles? Being a musician, obstacles are a large part of what we do. The stigma that comes with being a musician makes things difficult in the long run as far as people’s perceptions of who you are and what you do. The biggest obstacles I have faced are those of lack of acceptance and lack of support.

Who supported your talent? Thankfully I have a very supportive family and group of friends who have always pushed me to strive for far more than I had dreamed of. Along with them of course are the other local musicians and music establishments around Kuwait including Kuwait-Music (now Engage) and the people at Bayt Lothan who have made great strides in making music a lot more prevalent in Kuwait and helping musicians like myself be heard and accepted.

Any last words for the readers? Music is an international language that everyone hears but few people understand. I believe everyone should try their hand at playing music and be supportive of everyone else who does the same even if they don’t understand it at first. It can bring everyone together one way or another and with that it can help bring communities together and make life that much better. My name is Jasmie and I go to AUK majoring in Media and Communications. I believe there is good taste, bad taste and then the right taste in music. you can either accept that I’m right or continue to be wrong. It is really your choice. I sing and play guitar but I like to try out other instruments and trying to figure them out. What is your talent? I always wanted to play guitar so when I moved to Kuwait I was bored and had a lot of free time. Hence, I picked up a guitar and started playing. The singing was by accident. I never practiced but one day I sang and it wasn’t bad at all!

How did you develop your talent? I would just sit at home look up chords and tabs and eventually stopped doing that. I wanted to develop my talent even more so I just started figuring my way around the guitar. After that, I started writing my own music and I’ve become more focused on creating music instead of playing covers.

Did you encounter any obstacles? In Kuwait you encounter many obstacles because it’s still developing and it is not ready for such taste in music. It’s hard to find a place to play and it turns out you can’t busk on the streets. Therefore, the obstacles would definitely be the social acceptance and encouragement of music in general.

Who supported your talent? My friends supported my talent and encouraged me to pursue it. At home my brothers and I would play if we had enough instruments at home.

Any last words for the readers? I’m in a band called Hashtags and we want to help increase music scenes in Kuwait. How did you develop your talent? I play classical, acoustic, as well as the electric guitar. I also record my own music and cover songs. I am a self taught guitarist. I have a lot of influences, for example Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads and many more. I have been guitar through YouTube lessons. I researched on Google as well for techniques. From there, I started practicing regularly in order to develop my talent. In the meantime, I am taking a Guitar Class at my university to further develop my talent. I am also in a band, but we are still in the early stages. Our potential plan is working harder in the future to have public performances.

Did you encounter any obstacles while practicing your talent? As we all know, guitar is not an easy instrument to play as it requires lots of hard work and practice. Since I am a self taught guitarist, I had some issues with tuning and positioning in the beginning, but with practice, I was able to cover come all of that.

Who was your number one supporter? My family and friends have all supported me and have motivated me throughout my daily practices. My parents were very supportive and have encouraged me in order to start my band.

Any last words for the readers? I will just say that always do whatever makes you happy and whatever you do, do it with deep passion and hard work. You will encounter problems, but in the end you will achieve your goal.

THE CLUE OF HAVING WHITE BRIGHT NATURAL TEETH ‘White Hollywood style teeth’ is a great demand and in fact it’s easily achieved nowadays with growing knowledge and technology. This is really a large topic to be addressed at once. I will be talking in this article only on how to achieve bright white natural teeth. In order to have white teeth, first you have to understand the nature of the teeth and the causes of teeth staining. Our teeth are made up of long tubes of white calcium crystals. It is widely accepted to have teeth as white as the ‘whiteness of your eyes’. There are 2 types of teeth staining; our teeth could be stained from outside or from inner surface of these tubes. The outer surface stains are due to plaque accumulation which becomes hard after sometime (around 2 weeks) and turns brown with coffee and smoking. Thus it is hard to remove the stains with regular brushing at home. To treat such stains you need professional scaling and polishing by the dentist. The other cause of teeth staining is from the inside of the tubules which needs whitening gel to be applied within them. Mainly ‘hydrogen peroxide’ is used to treat such cases.

There are 2 types of whitening, depending on the strength of the gel. ‘Laser Whitening’ which is a professional strong gel that is activated with laser which should be applied by your dentist. It is applied for 45mins and can be repeated only after 6 months of the procedure. The other type is the low strength gel and that comes in various forms in the market. The most common form is ‘Home Whitening Kit’ that kind is applied on the teeth in a plastic shell and worn overnight or at least for 6 hours every day for 2 weeks. The other types are like whitening strips or whitening pens that less commonly used and this treatment can be repeated each month until you have a satisfied result. In my opinion mixing the ways is very effective, make ‘laser whitening’ and Follow it with ‘home whitening’ and repeat every 6 months. In conclusion we should know that ‘teeth whitening’ is not a magic, it has some limitation and could not be appropriate for your problem. Talented Kuwaiti Students Participate in Isma3ni For the past year Isma3ni has been bridging the gap between western and eastern cultures through music and poetry. It an ongoing monthly Open Mic that has proven to be an outstanding community event with large numbers of people enjoying an evening of live entertainment. They have just celebrated the continuous success at Isma3ni by putting on a huge production at Live Theater, in Kuwait City. The reason for starting Isma3ni was simple: There are plenty of talented people in Kuwait who simply need an opportunity to be heard. Isma3ni is Kuwaiti slang for ‘hear me out’. Therefore Isma3ni is where artists are heard and people inspired. We are proud that several university students started participated with us mostly from the American University of Kuwait.

Kanye announced the news telling the crowd of more than 5,000 at the Ovation Hall at the Revel Resort in song form: “Now you having my baby.” The crowd cheered with approval, and the rapper also told the audience to congratulate his “baby mom” and that this was the “most amazing thing.” Kim took to her blog to share the exciting news. “It’s true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby,” she wrote. “We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us.
