WORDS STAND OUT THAT

Dear Students, My colleague come to my office the other day and said “Oh my God, today I acted like you!! I was snappy, but I got what I wanted!!” And how does it feel, I asked her? “It feels so good… and so bad…” Because you go what you wanted? “Because I was nasty!!” You mean you were assertive! She looked at me with her piercing eyes, eager to hear more, always ready to learn. If one could get by in life with a smile and being courteous, then trust me, we would all be grinning all day long. Unfortunately, till today a lot of people respond better to authoritative attitudes, remember authority was for centuries in the hands of dictating males. To be a female in a responsible position, you will have, whether you like or not, to adopt some of the male, harsh attitudes. The problem is that some females may over compensate. I surely hope you will never fall into this. “How do I keep myself in check?” By understanding what assertiveness means. By asking only that which is your right, and by always thanking and appreciating those who extend their help to you. “Remember when I used to say I can never be like you?” WRITE TO US info@ph7-kw.com

Remember when I used to tell you, you just wait and see, I wasn’t born assertive, I became with time and experience. And yet… “Yes?” Don’t ever try to be me or anybody other than who you are. Have more trust in yourself and your better judgment and know that as long as your heart is in right place and your aim is to get the job done, the tones will vary with each situation, with each new person you meet. At the end of the day, no two people are alike and life is in a constant state of evolution. I enjoy my conversations with my wide eyed young colleague. She teaches me a lot about myself and there is much to be learned from human interactions. I hope you enjoy them too, Till next issue,

STAND OUT WITH YOUR

PASSION

Mohammed Hussam Zureik

If you love something go for it, you never know when you might get the chance that can change your life, When did you start playing the guitar? It all started off when I was 13 years old, back in 2007. Who discovered your talent? How did it evolve? Well, I’ve always had a passion for this specific instrument and wanted to learn how to play. I had my family’s support, and a good friend of mine and a fellow guitarist, Feras Arrabi, helped me with few tips at the very beginning, also Humam Hawassli helped me develop my rhythm playing. Afterwards, I decided to create a Youtube account and started uploading videos of my guitar playing and receiving both positive and negative comments that opened my eyes to things I hadn’t noticed earlier (www.youtube.com/user/HamoudiZureik ). It all obviously evolved through practice, since that’s how things work. When was your first concert/ official appearance? It was on January, 31st, 2010 next to Hard Rock café. How many appearances have you done? Three appearances.

22 - 23

Passion for Music

Who and what inspired you as a guitarist? Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Guthrie Govan, Gary Moore, Richie Blackmore, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert, Michael Romeo, Marty Freidman, Jason Becker, Steve Vai, Michael Amott, Gus G. and MiikaTenkula. Where do you see Kuwait in this field? Unfortunately, Kuwait is far from this field. What was the biggest challenge you faced as an Arab guitarist? The fact that the whole rock and metal music scene in the Arab world is terrible and not respected, I’m a musician, but I don’t wear black 24/7, cut myself and pretend that my life’s miserable, but the society looks at me like I’m some disgusting creature. What are you doing nowadays? I’m writing an album, but it is kind of a far target for now. Where do you plan to reach with your guitar? Hopefully, when I’m done with my university years, I’m going to head abroad to study music, get my masters and PhD and teach music, maybe open my own music school or become a labelled musician. Those cases apply whether in the Arab world or abroad. Today when you look back is there anything you want to change? Well, I used to say that I hated the fact that I started-off with Death Metal, Groove Metal and Metalcore, but I gained a lot of experience from those genres in my guitar playing, so I’m not sure if that’s going to change anything, but if it does, I hope it’s for the best.

What are the top 5 musical pieces that incorporate guitar, in your opinion, and by who? Guardian Angel by Yngwie J. Malmsteen. Always With Me, Always With You by Joe Satriani. Waves by Guthrie Govan. The Loner by Gary Moore. Sea of Dreams by Godgory. What would you like to say to STUDENTALK readers? If you love something so much, go for it, you never know when you might get the chance that can change your life, so why not take that chance while you’re at it? Remember, it’s all about you, so keep it up! Thank you. www.studentalk-online.com

Name: Raghad Alawnah Age: 19 Talent: Painting When did you start? Back in school we would have Art classes from when we were in Kindergarten and I have always enjoyed every minute of them. I really started to gain an interest in painting/drawing or perhaps had ‘discovered’ my talent during grade 7; and since then, my love for painting grows every day. Who gave you support? My teachers supported me in improving my talents and skills, but of course, the most support and encouragement I got was from my loving family and friends. I especially feel encouraged when my friends or family ask me to paint something for their living room or kitchen. How did your talent evolve? Having Art classes and deciding to study Art in more depth during the last couple of years in school allowed me to improve my skills and learn different techniques. I loved to paint in and out of the classroom which helped me gain experience and made my brushstrokes more confident when touching the blank canvas. Were there any obstacles? I guess finding the time and being inspired enough to paint was quite difficult and I think that these would be my obstacles when it comes to painting.

Who is your muse? Everything and anything can be a muse to me- whether it be a person, an object or even the weather. Whenever I feel like I am overwhelmed with feelings I paint as it helps me express these feelings with every brushstroke that I make. For me, painting is what heals my soul. Today when you look back is there anything you want to change? I can’t really think of anything that I would change, except that I would have wanted to enter a field to do with art at university. Any last words to the readers? We all have our own unique talents, whether it has to do with music, art or giving moving speeches. We are born with these talents for a reason, as Benjamin Franklin once said, “Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What’s a sundial in the shade?”

I am liberal to people’s opinions.

University: auk Name: Kholod Al-Shamry Age: 21 Department: Computer Engineering

No, I won’t get annoyed because everyone has the right to express themselves and their belief. I’d rather debate so that everyone’s sides get heard.

University: Auk Name: Ramsey Awwad Age: 25 department: (Double Major) Economics and Finance

Our society has advanced because of people who challenge general beliefs. The theory that the world was flat was once a general belief. Was it true? Refer to noble figures such as Galileo and Einstein and see how they challenged general beliefs. I like to hear opposing views and debate; this is how we learn new things.

I debate with them because I want to annoy them the way they annoy me. I’m kidding.

University: auk Name: Omnia Abdelhalim Age: 22 Department: pr

No, I love to debate and argue. The best thing about this is that no one can label each other’s opinions as “wrong.” I love persuading people and standing up for what I believe in, no matter what or who.

University: Auk Name: Helene Georges Age: 20 Department: Graphic Design

The only thing steady in this world is diversity; it’s what makes us unique as individuals. We all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, hence, it is only expected that we have different ways of thinking too. Why should we feel annoyed if we clash on opinions? Debating allows us to see things from someone else’s lens and broaden our minds to a whole different scope of views- only then can we truly evolve intellectually.

As far as opinions go, I believe everyone has a right to speak out about their views. I won’t get annoyed, but the only time it would bother me is if the opinion is discriminatory – that’s when I’d debate.

I actually like to debate because people think differently. No one is like the other; that’s why we complete each other.

GRADES Name: Darweesh Qamhiya Age: 20 Major: Accounting University: GUST

QHave you always had a high GPA? Darweesh: yes Razan: Yes, since my days in school.

QHow do your peers look at you because of your GPA? Darweesh: Friendship is something that is not related to my GPA. Razan: Not many of them know that I have a high GPA; it is not something that I talk about. What’s funny though is that when random people find out about my GPA, they tell me that my looks don’t show that I could be someone with a high GPA and usually say that they are impressed.

QDo you feel like you are part of your peers or alienated from them? Darweesh: I definitely feel as part of my peers.

Razan: I’m definitely part of them! A high GPA does not alienate you from people. How does it affect your social life?

Q

Darweesh: Actually it may not change anything for my social life; it may just help in the future for a better life. Razan:It doesn’t affect my social life in any way but what bothers me about it is that sometimes the less fortunate in their studies stick to me when there is a group project. It becomes obvious that all they want from me is to do all the work and secure them the A.

QHow does your GPA affect your relationship with the teachers?

Daweesh: Sometimes it makes doctors feel happy towards me and treat me in a very good way, and sometimes it may change nothing. Razan: I think it makes things harder for me with teachers because they expect me to work hard and do well in their classes like I do in other classes. It is pressuring in a way. On the other hand, I’ve always had good relations with my teachers but I don’t think my GPA is the reason for that. 48 - 49

% Name: Razan Farhat Age: 20

Major: Accounting University: AUK

QWhat drives you to get such high grades? Darweesh: Actually nothing, I’m just doing this because I am used to doing it.

Razan: The fact that I want to achieve in life is what drives me. I’m aware that my GPA alone will not drive me to become successful but it is part of it. So the GPA is part of the puzzle that will help me get what I want in the future.

QWhat does it take for you to get such a high GPA?

Darweesh: Preparing well for the midterms and the finals. Also, concentrating while being in the lectures. Razan: I think this is an answer that everyone knows; study at the right time! All I do is plan a little time ahead on how I’m going to finish all the material, and I do it. It doesn’t require that much of an effort.

QAre you involved in any extra curricular activities? Darweesh: Student Vibe-Station.

Razan: Yes, I am part of a club called B.E.L.L.E. which is dedicated to women empowerment and support. I go out a lot and I also get involved in any activity that I see as fun.

QAre you involved in any charitable organization or activities? Darweesh: No.

Razan: B.E.L.L.E. is also a charitable organization. We helped raise a fund for a female scholarship last year and we’re working on it this year as well by organizing a fashion show whose profits go to this scholarship program.

QDo you believe that students with high GPAs will have a better future than those who score average GPAs? Darweesh: Not always.

Razan: Not necessarily, not everyone who got a good education did something meaningful with their future. Some people are just not meant to be academic leaders; their gifts are in something else like fashion, food, or athletics!

Gross Domestic Product Why is GDP so important? The gross domestic product (GDP) is one of the primary indicators used to gauge the health of a country’s economy. It refers to the market value of all officially recognized final goods and services produced within a country in a given period. Usually, GDP is expressed as a comparison to the previous quarter or year. For example, if the YoY GDP is up 4 percent, this is thought to mean that the economy has grown by 4 percent over the last year. As one can imagine, economic production and growth, what GDP represents, has a large impact on nearly everyone within that economy. For example, when the economy is healthy, you will typically see low unemployment and wage increases as businesses demand labor to meet the growing economy. A significant change in GDP, whether up or down, usually has a significant effect on the stock market. A bad economy usually means lower profits for companies, which in turn means lower stock prices. Investors really worry about negative GDP growth, which is one of the factors economists use to determine whether an economy is in a recession. GDP is used by the Central Banks as one of the key indicators in setting interest rates. So, for example, if prices are rising too fast, the Bank would be expected to increase interest rates to try to control them. But it may hold off if 50 - 51

GDP growth is sluggish, as higher rates could damage the recovery. GDP can be measured in three ways: 1- Output measure: This is the value of the goods and services produced by all sectors of the economy. 2- Expenditure measure: This is the value of the goods and services purchased by households and by government, investment in machinery and buildings. It also includes the value of exports minus imports. 3- Income measure: The value of the income generated mostly in terms of profits and wages. The most direct of the three is the product approach, which sums the outputs of every class of enterprise to arrive at the total. The expenditure approach works on the principle that all of the product must be bought by somebody, therefore the value of the total product must be equal to people’s total expenditures in buying things. The income approach works on the principle that the incomes of the productive factors must be equal to the value of their product, and determines GDP by finding the sum of all producers’ incomes. Amanda Bynes arrested for Drunken Driving

Supermodel Klum divorces British singer Seal

Amanda Bynes was arrested after getting into a minor misdemeanor with L.A.’s Finest. The 26-year-old actress, driving a black BMW collided with a Cruiser at 3:00 am in west Hollywood, causing minor paint damage to both vehicles. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department suspected after further investigation that the young star had been drinking, and arrested her for driving under the influence. Bynes was booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and bail was set at $5,000. She was released without being required to pay the bond and was issued a citation. She’ll still have to report to court, though no date has been set. An investigation is ongoing.

German supermodel Heidi Klum filed for divorce from her British singer husband Seal, two and a half months after the pair announced their separation. The couple married in 2005 and have three children together. Seal, best known for hits such as “Kiss from a Rose” and “Crazy,” also adopted Klum’s daughter from a previous relationship with ex Formula One boss Flavio Briatore. Klum, 38, and Seal, 49, were famous for renewing their vows every year on their wedding anniversary. But the model raised eyebrows when she attended the Golden Globes awards ceremony in January without her husband. Seal and Klum vowed to be “civil” for the sake of the children when they announced their split in January this year, with Seal saying it was “difficult” but made easier because of their continued feelings for each other. In divorce papers published by TMZ, Klum asks for joint legal custody of their four children - two boys and two girls, aged 7, 6, 5 and 2 - but she wants primary physical custody, with Seal getting visitation rights.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, you never know what the future holds!!

58 - 59

After being spotted many times together, rumors have naturally been running rampant that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are now dating. Kim and Kayne were seen in Manhattan together with four other people just before going for shopping at Jeffrey and FAO Schwarz. Commenting on the rumors, Kim said: “I completely respect and understand that you have to ask these questions. But as I’ve said before, Kanye and I have been friends for years,” As for her split from Kris Humphries, Kim added “We are still going through a divorce, so there’s not really much that I’m allowed to talk about,” she noted. “Out of respect for him, I try to not really talk about stuff involving him...I’m just really ready to move on.” Now we’ll have to wait and see how involved West will be in the ‘moving on’ part?

Easy tips for planning a healthy diet and sticking to it! Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible, all of which can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and using them in a way that works for you. Healthy eating begins with learning how to eat smart, it’s not just what you eat, but how you eat. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as defend against depression. Additionally, learning the habits of healthy eating can boost your energy, sharpen your memory and stabilize your mood. Healthy eating tip 1: Set yourself up for success Simplify. Start slow and make changes to your eating habits over time. Every change you make to improve your diet matters. Think of water and exercise as food groups in your diet. Water helps flush our system of waste products and toxins, yet many people go through life dehydrated causing tiredness, low energy, and headaches. It’s common to mistake thirst for hunger, so staying well hydrated will also help you make healthier food choices. Healthy eating tip 2: Moderation is key Try not to think of certain foods as “off-limits.” Later, you will be craving them, so if you are to indulge, think smaller portions Healthy eating tip 3: It’s not just what you eat, it’s how you eat Listen to your body. Ask yourself if you are really hungry, or have a glass of water to see if you are thirsty instead of hungry. Eat breakfast, and eat smaller meals throughout the day. Healthy eating tip 4: Limit sugar and salt Avoid sugary drinks. Try sparkling water with lemon or a splash of fruit juice. Eat naturally sweet food such as fruit, peppers, or natural peanut butter to satisfy your sweet tooth. 66 - 67

Healthy eating tip 5: Eat more healthy carbs and whole grains Healthy carbs include whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables. Unhealthy carbs (or bad carbs) are foods such as white flour, refined sugar, and white rice that have been stripped of all bran, fiber, and nutrients. Unhealthy carbs digest quickly and cause spikes in blood sugar levels and energy. When is sadness actually depression? Sometimes it is difficult to determine when regular sadness is actually depression. However, more people than you might think would actually meet criteria for this illness. A study of Kuwaiti college students found that 24% of the participants reported moderate to severe levels of depression, which is a higher rate than college students in other countries. Fortunately, we know a lot about depression and how to help. Here are some common questions: What is depression? Symptoms of depression can include: • Persistent feelings of guilt, sadness, emptiness, hopelessness or pessimism. • Loss of pleasure in activities that were previously enjoyed. • Physical symptoms including fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and drastic changes in appetite. • Difficulty concentrating and poor memory. • Sometimes people have thoughts of death or suicide. How is depression treated? There are many ways to treat depression. Psychotherapy/ counseling tends to be highly effective for most mental health concerns, including depression, and research suggests that about 70% of people who use it report better improvement of symptoms than those who do not. General self-care such as eating nutritiously, exercising regularly, and getting 6-8 hours of sleep is also important. Who should I contact for help? Many colleges have counseling centers on campus. You can also ask trusted friends, family, or your doctor for recommendations for licensed psychologists. When you meet with the psychologist, they will probably ask you questions about your symptoms, family history, and what is happening in your life. It is never easy to talk about these things especially if this is the first time, so it is normal to be nervous but eventually this nervousness usually stops. Depression is a legitimate and relatively common medical problem in Kuwait. Fortunately, we know a lot about what it is, where it comes from, and how to help it. It is important to recognize the symptoms of depression and then take the brave step of asking someone for help. 68 - 69

Red Bull Dubai X-Fighters Dubai/ Red Bull X-Fighters/ Kiwi wins in front of 20,000

Sherwood wins Dubai stop of $1 million World Tour New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood was the winner of the 2012 season opener of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Dubai (UAE). The former ‘wunderkind’ of FMX got his first victory since 2010.

74 - 75

Dubai, UAE - Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Levi Sherwood won the 2012 season opener of the $1 million World Tour in front of 20,000 spectators. Sherwood presented a brilliant performance on a stunning dirt track set up on the white sands of the Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Majed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Saud Al Mualla, Umm Al Quwain’s Crown Prince.

Kicking off the six-month long season with its six stops on four continents, Dubai gave Sherwood his fourth career victory and first since triumphing in London in 2010. Australia’s Rob Adelberg was a surprise second while Javier Villegas of Chile got his first podium with third place. “It was an outstanding competition”, said Alberto Chahoud, Regional Communications Manager for Red Bull - Middle East and Africa. “I would like to thank His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his generous patronage. Special tribute goes to all concerned local authorities for their great contribution, as well as to all partners and sponsors, mainly “du”. We hope we have managed to offer our fans an adrenaline-filled experience.” It was a night filled with upsets as defending World Tour champion Dany Torres of Spain and Norway’s Andre Villa, a leading title contender, were both knocked out in the quarterfinals, finishing eighth and fifth, respectively. Villa had earlier wept with tears of joy after taking second in Qualifying, overcome with emotions that he was able to ride well again after suffering a leg injury last season. Sherwood was clearly on top of his game in the sweltering heat of Dubai, able to once again display his incomparable flexible and fluid style in the world’s most prestigious Freestyle Motocross competition that will have a total purse of $1 million based on performances and appearance fee. “It means a lot,” said a beaming Sherwood, 20, after celebrating with the spirited crowd that savored the spectacle with riders jumping up to 12 meters high and 20 meters in distance on their bikes. “I didn’t have much confidence coming into it,” added the friendly New Zealander. Villegas was thrilled to get the first podium. “After years of sacrifice, I finally made it,” he said. “I’m not going to stop here. I want to be on the podium all season.” Red Bull X-Fighters has become the biggest and most respected freestyle motocross tour on the planet since it was created in 2001 with the best FMX riders anywhere battling for championship points at six stops on four continents.

Help raise money for Mesothelioma Cancer Mrs. Wajiha, director of Kuwait American School (KAS), recently passed away having been affected by a rare type of cancer - Mesothelioma. Mrs. Wajiha is greatly missed, she touched the soul of her students and everyone around her throughout her achievements in leading and teaching. Her students were affected by her death, and decided to honour her through an event held in Movenpick Hotel, Free Zone, to support the research concerning her type of cancer. Speaking to Mrs. Wajiha’s daughter, and the new director of KAS, Ghaida Al Habib, together with many of Mrs. Wajiha’s students, we came to understand why the students planned to support her rare type of cancer. The Bazaar was in the form of more than 30 booths at the Movenpick Hotel. By renting these booths to various people and businesses they raised money to go towards further research into Mesothelioma. The Bazaar also provided an opportunity to raise awareness 76 - 77

of the cancer – the students were determined to do this in a fun way. As they explained, “We chose this cause because it affected someone that we loved. The cancer is rare, there are not that many organizations supporting it. So we just thought that by raising awareness then people can get more interested and maybe more people would want to major in it and that would help to promote research”. The event was organised by Fawwaz Shemari, Lujain Al Habib, Basel Habib, Rawan Al Kandari, Ritaj Ali, Rifaei Al Rifaei.

Lucky Generation Gamers A Brief History of Gaming and its Evolution: Gaming started in the late 1970’s with various forms of Pong (basic ping pong), arguably being the first game to hit the mainstream market at the time. Back then, gaming looked very simplistic and only seemed to attract a niche audience. However, throughout the years gaming evolved into a behemoth of the interactive entertainment industry, rivaling cinema with titles such as ‘Call of Duty,’ ‘Uncharted’ and more with extremely high production values and cinematic experiences. Gaming is now a true form of entertainment that everyone can find interesting and feel engaged in. It also caters to every age group and taste. Gaming and the Kuwaiti Audience: You may now ask how Kuwait is involved in the gaming scene. What kind of video games do our local gamers enjoy? The truth is Kuwaiti gamers enjoy a variety of genres in gaming. They range from your tactical/action shooter games such as Call of Duty, to sports games such as FIFA, to strategy games such as StarCraft, to fighting games such as Street Fighter, to role playing games such as World of Warcraft and many more. Kuwaiti players have exceptional taste in the games they play and have the enthusiasm to completely immerse themselves and see what these games have to offer. This is where the Lucky Generation Gamers (luckygg.com) come in. They took their enthusiasm to the next level by providing the latest news in the gaming

industry, professionally criticizing the games they play as well as covering regional events. The Local Scene and Competition: To tie in with their regional coverage, the GCC region is now considered a hotspot for the gaming industry. Due to this fact, developers around the world have been announcing their newest products and games officially in the region, as well as hosting various events. For example, Kuwait hosted various international level gaming tournaments such as Street Fighter and FIFA due to the fact that Kuwait is well known for its talented players, thus putting Kuwait in the international competitive map. These gamers have travelled as far as Japan to represent Kuwait and participate in international-level tournaments. Lucky Generation Gamers have been pursuing these events and exposing them to the world through live broadcasting over the internet. A Look Into The Future: With the aforementioned contributions that our local community had offered in the past, it’s always great to have the possibilities of external endorsements to help promote and expose the scene even further. It would be nice to see more involvement in the form of trade shows, bigger regional events, as well as an opportunity to introduce game development as an academic interest. As part of Kuwait’s enthusiastic gaming community, the Lucky Generation Gamers are always eager to contribute to, expand, and unite the gaming community in the region as well as crush the stereotypical barriers of gaming through the content they produce, and to deliver these ideas and thoughts so everyone will understand what the world of gaming has to offer each and every person out there. In the future, a general interest in game development as an academic approach would help invigorate interest in the local gaming scene. www.luckygg.com @luckygenGamers Lucky Gen. Dark Shadows In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better. 90 - 91

PLAYERS STAND OUT THAT

Klitschko, the 36 year-old Ukrainian champion, is considered to be the top heavyweight fighter in the world, since he has won 136 out of 140 fights. Back in 1996, Klitschko reached a great achievement in winning the Olympic gold medal for the super heavyweight division in Atlanta. And that was his great motivation to move into professional boxing. By 1999, Klitschko had become the European Champion, he held his success for more than three years, until he was defeated by Corrie Sanders, and Lamon Brewster. Klitschko didn’t give up, and to show the world that he is a real champion, he won against the hardest puncher in the division at that time, Samuel Peter. By 2011, he had become the three time world heavyweight champion, and he continued to get the titles of WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO World Heavyweight Champion. The great champion has successfully defended his tittles against Jean-Marc Mormeck on March 2012. Finally, Klitschko appears to be a caring person, since he donated US$285,000 of his purse in 2006 to the UNESCO project “Education for Children in Need” to build schools in Namibia. All we can say, Klitschko is a real inside outside champion.

Wladimir Klitschko Carmelo Kiyan Anthony, is a 28 year old American professional basketball player who plays for the New York Knicks in NBA. Carmelo Anthony attracted attention during his high school years! Anthony attended Towson Catholic High School, and during the summer of 2000 he grew five inches to be in a good shape of a swingman. It didn’t take much time until he became one of the best players in the area, and was named The Baltimore Sun’s metro player of the year in 2001. Despite being successful in high school basketball career, Anthony was still far from NBA stardom. And because of his skinny body he wasn’t ready for the NBA’s physical demands. Anthony went to Syracuse University in 2003, where he led their first National Championship, and where he earned his title ‘Most Valuable Player of NCAA East Region’. After Anthony’s left college to enter NBA Drafts he has become known as one of the most popular players in the league. After a successful season with the Nuggets, Anthony’s signed a 5 year, $80 million deal with them. Season 2006-2007 wasn’t Carmelo’s best, and he was suspended for 15 games by NBA commissioner David Stern, after punching the New York Knicks player Mardy Collins in his face during a game. In February 2011, Carmelo Anthony joined New York Knicks and remains a part of the team today.

SIGNS STAND OUT THAT

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 20) Could it be that you are somewhat resistant to rules and regulations now? And even more resistant when things seem contrary to your values? Well, it’s time to create a position where you are the authority and submit to no one but yourself. Waste no energy on trying to fit in. You don’t and can’t. Prosperity is around the corner. Go find it.

ARIES (Mar. 21-April 20) You simply cannot have any more work piled on top of what you’re already doing. The situation you’re in is one of overwork, being overwrought and overwhelmed. Responsibilities involve detail, order, organization, systemization, placement, sorting, grouping, itemizing and discriminating between work, your daily needs, and your health. Deep breathing is suggested. Having the intention that all you’re doing is in service to others will help.

CANCER (June 22-July 22) When you communicate you can either speak only of self or allow others a sense of emotional security and self-control. You are to be the sustained nourishment that others need. You are to bring people and ideas and all the kingdoms of nature together. I hear you already do this. In psychological terms you are therefore the “good-enough mother” which means perfect.

LIBRA (Sept. 24-Oct. 23) This is a time when your imagination is allowed to develop and sprout whatever fantasies you’ve held onto for much too long. Perhaps you really want to develop the spiritual aspects of yourself. During this time of solitude, this will occur, but only if you allow all levels of the unknown to emerge. Any battles that appear, you will be the victor.

94 - 95

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 19) Are you thinking of change? The kind that takes you from here to there yet you don’t know where “there” is? Know that you are going through a transmutation (change in substance) of values. You want to use your resources for safety and security, yet you also want your resources to assist in the cultivation of community. Dream, visualize, draw, communicate, and research. Eventually, through the force of your will, it will manifest.

TAURUS (Apr. 21-May 21) Health is your most important issue. It has been for several Months and will continue to be. Therefore, rest is most essential, the more the better. You will possibly struggle with your little will, which is an expression of Spiritual Will. You must be willing to care for yourself primarily. Leave everything else by the wayside.

LEO (July 23-Aug 22) There are great possibilities being offered within the regions of your mind. You have the potential to harmonize your expressions so they create unity within. Through science and through concrete knowledge gathering, not mysticism, you can anchor the Soul. This creates real perception and expressions of truth. Can you do it?

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 22) It’s time for you to seriously consider entrance into the New Group of World Servers. When one does, new intentions begin to manifest. The most important are the expressions of the Law of Group Endeavor and the Principle of Unanimity. These are two of the new Aquarian Laws and Principles. You are aware that most groups you have affiliated with up till now no longer serve you. Yes? So what now?

PISCES (Feb. 20-Mar. 20) The Dweller on the Threshold seems to have appeared. He can look/feel like a gargoyle framing a Masonic cathedral in olden times. Fear not. Maintain constant integrity and an open Path to the Soul’s light. The Dweller turns into the Angel of the Presence and then the door to the Temple opens. You’re on the threshold. Hold steady.

GEMINI (May 22-June 21) You continue to focus on your biological inheritance transmitted from family. Concerning mother, you must begin to respond to and interact with the Great Mother Principle. This is your Soul. It is the ground you walk upon and the Earth you live within. It is your foundation, your anchor and your Ashram. Begin an affiliation with Her.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 23) A new self-identity is immanent. In the meantime, and until this new self emerges, there may be a battle between your personality and Soul, between matter and Spirit, between old psychology and the new (ray psychology), between the lower mind and higher, and between your will and the Will of you Solar Angel. Discrimination will be required.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23-Dec. 21) There are two levels through which you can observe your life at this time. You can assume that you are controlled by authority figures. Or you can begin to communicate with the Hierarchy, who happen to be your spiritual teachers, whether you know it or not. You can look at personality honor and status. Or you can use this time for advancement on your spiritual path. You can work only for your benefit. Or you can have the intention to serve humanity. Either are OK. One is best.
