Shawn LaRé Brinkley emanates positivity. She brings boundless energy; relentless passion; and an infectious, joyous spirit to the many roles she fills. “As a child, I was always allowed to be my authentic self, and that gift compels me to live authentically in my calling and drives my success,” she says. Today, that success includes serving in professional roles as a licensed marriage family therapist and transformational performance coach. It means she thrives as a dynamic speaker/trainer/author with a zest for life and people. “My coaching techniques help clients reach deep inside themselves to uncover their true purpose and step up to who they were meant to be before trauma, obstacles, and life’s let downs got in the way,” she says. She invites everyone to step into their “Who-you-are-ness,” a word she coined to help individuals live as their authentic selves and perform at the most optimal levels in their lives. “I empower my clients to move past the fears and limiting beliefs that keep them stuck and unable to move into the greatness for which they have been destined,” she says. Her Triple-R Formula (Resilience, Rejuvenation, and Reinvention) invites her audience, clients, and others to rethink what they have been taught about themselves and develop, step into, and stand proudly in their “Who-you-are-ness.” “If you are not living in your who-you-are-ness, your true self, God will keep tapping you until you use the gifts for which you were purposed, and it is smart to get help,” she offers. Extremely active in the community, Shawn LaRé serves on the board of several organizations including the Black Women’s Network, The Advot Project, and Feed My Sheep Inc. She is also the clinical consultant for the “I Did Something Good Today Foundation,” providing oversight and clinical support. She serves as the diversity chair for the San Fernando Valley California Association of Marriage Family Therapists, and she founded and facilitates the organization’s first Therapists of Color Support Group. This group’s mission is to foster a safe and open space for therapists of color to express vulnerabilities and authentically share and process real-life experiences. Shawn LaRé is a member of the University of Phoenix National Society of Leadership Development and is a recipient of the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Leadership Award. She loves to live life to, as she says, “full-tilt boogie,” and believes love, laughter, and ADHD are her superpowers. “When life gives you lemons, you must not just make lemonade, you must suck on them ’til they taste like chocolate,” she says.
success women’s conference global speaker in the spotlight
Shawn LaRé credits her tenacious spirit to her mantra by which she lives: “Every setback is a beautiful comeback waiting for you to come to it.” An avid singer, Shawn LaRé enjoys singing lead in her band, BlaQue Silk, and creating uniquely designed hand-crafted jewelry called Shimmies by Shawn. Shawn LaRé’s message is that one is never too old to live in his or her God-given, God-driven purpose. It is a message that she knows first-hand the importance of: “I was 50 years old when I found my true calling and got my master's degree to become a therapist. And at 60 I began pursuing my doctorate degree. Age is wisdom, and wisdom is a gift.” She believes she has, through her many successes, fulfilled the dreams she had when she was a teenager and hoped to become a lawyer, actress, and singer. “That girl still lives inside me, and I have been an actress and a singer, and I got to be a lawyer in a play. I started out in law and learned that my free spirit was going to rule my path, so I found a better dream.” Finding her purpose later in life hasn’t affected her ability to have and bring joy. “I also have more energy than any 60-year-old on the planet,” she says. She has faced some challenges along the way. “I am currently overcoming the most major challenge I have had, losing my dear amazing husband and biggest cheerleader, William Joseph. I am overcoming it each day by remembering the gift God gave me in him. I do what I do now because he was so supportive and excited about everything I did, and we did together, so in his honor, I keep living on full-tilt boogie.” Going full throttle, she is as busy as ever. She is working on her first solo book and has launched her private practice in a new awesome location that is hers. “I am able to employ and train other therapists to practice authentically and according to their gifts,” she says. Her encouragement to others is to “be still so you can hear from God and then step out on faith, even with fear and uncertainty, and go for it. If you fail... do it ’til you get it right!”

5 tips for Successfully Launching a Podcast By Tina Ramsay
The podcast industry has soared in the past year. More than ever before there is a need and want for quality content because the world is thirsty for knowledge and an easy but effective way to share your business, mission, purpose, and thoughts with the world. If you are a business owner, nonprofit, business for profit, coach, influencers, leader, expert, or author it is essential that you create a podcast for your brand and mission. Its one of the best cost-effective tools of marketing and visibility to expand your vision on a global scale faster. In order for you to start and build your podcast on a solid foundation here is 5 Tips that you need to do before you start your podcast. Tip 1: Know the Purpose of Your Podcast Your purpose is very much tied to solving problems and providing solutions to your audience, but it also is essential to know how it ties into your overall business model. Why? What? Who? How? When? Tip 2: Name Your Podcast The best practice for choosing a name for your podcast show is to be creative, make it easy to remember and incorporate your current branding; using the right key terms and descriptive language that defines your brand. Tip 3: Know Your Listener Knowing your audience, like anything in business, is the most essential bit of information you can collect. Don’t neglect this part. Your listeners will define everything else about your podcast. Create a customer avatar; how old is your target; what do they do for their job; why are they listening? Tip 4: Describe Your Podcast The description of your podcast is fundamental. You’ll really need more than one description. One for your audience and the people you want to listen to, one for the speakers you want to showcase, and potentially one for sponsors.
Who is it for? Why are you doing it? What problems will be solved? When is it performed? Where can the audience listen? Set audience expectations. Double Check Spelling and Grammar
5. Design Podcast Cover Art Using the information gathered about your audience and the show, you can now design your cover art to ensure it advances your show and doesn’t take from it. • Should go well with your name, genre, and topics. • Keep it simple. • Ensure it’s easy to read. • Use fewer words. • Use no more than 3 or 4 colors • Use no more than 2 or 3 fonts. Bonus: Choose Your Technology You don’t need much tech for a podcast, but a few things that are a must include the list below. When considering the technology, think about how you will use and reuse the content. Recording technology Mic/sound Camera Lighting Hosting

TANYA MARIE LEWIS
A passion for creativity Tanya Marie Lewis, a Christian writer and publisher, describes herself as a woman who loves God with every fiber of her being. She loves His people, and as a result, her natural instinct is to help others. Tanya has a passion for creativity, and she uses that passion as a means to serve others in media. She recently launched a signature stationery line (thehandmaidenstaionerystudio.com) and now puts to use her ability create beautiful illustrations. The biggest impact of launching her stationery line was, she says. “…realizing the gift to illustrate was lying dormant in me. I was so busy ‘doing’ life that I was neglecting key areas in my life, mainly spending quality time with the Lord. After being severely burned out, I was on bed rest for almost a month, and during that season I saw the vision for the collection and started illustrating immediately and have not looked back. I’m still in awe that God gave this gift to me.” The beauty of her collection is that it is more than stationery; it’s also ministry. Each collection represents a message and is meant to be a source of encouragement to the receiver. She says the greatest lesson she has learned is that she is not defined by her mistakes. “Living in them hinders me and those I’m meant to serve,” she says. “2020 reminded me that God is God, and trying to be this ‘perfect’ vessel is a form of idolatry to self.” Tanya says she is the best version of herself when she allows God to be in control. “I am completely in love with Jesus again and as a result, I’ve put Him back in the place He belongs, as Lord over my life. To that end, I don’t run my life, nor do I allow others to do it.” She believes that people, especially women, find themselves on a “hamster wheel” that God never intended for them to be on. “We end up being everything to everyone and give God our leftovers. I was living in that place for too long, and it cost me more than I was ready to spend,” she says. “So, my go-to method is now to truly seek Him and obey Him even when I don’t understand the instruction. I’m growing every day because I’m spending time with the greatest teacher.” Tanya’s success story includes changes she’s prayerfully made. She says that she has recently closed some aspects of how she was doing business. “I had to submit to one door closing in order to embrace the new door that’s been opened to me. It’s a bit of a major rebrand of things I thought I’d lost.” Looking forward, she is excited to be working on her second anthology project, slated for a summer 2021 release.
