ere are eight giants that you're going to have to y to become unstoppable.
y name is Dorothy Wilson, and I want to tell you hat those giants look like and how you defeat em But first, let's go back to 2012 I was laid off m a well paid media job That was a time when wspapers were shrinking rapidly, trying to rvive They were swinging that layoff axe every six onths
seems the easy answer for me after I was laid off s to take another corporate job
e thing that I wanted to do, though, it was to eate my own and never work for somebody else ain, to never give anybody else that kind of power er my career, my future, my financial success ain, the thing that I didn't know how to do come an entrepreneur. The thing that I didn't ve money to do was start a magazine. The thing erybody else thought I should do, what I should , or expected me to do, was go to work for a ajor company in PR and marketing. And the thing I ew that I couldn't do, was compromised my eams ever again. For a paycheck and a job title, I s done with living inside somebody else's box.
e all are contained in boxes that we didn't create 2019, I published a book, a compilation of apters called Unboxed And the goal behind that s to encourage women to break free and to soar s was so important to do And here's why As omen, we tend to have the tendency, more so an men, to be boxed in by other people's pectations of us, by nature.
ho are you? Where are you going? nd what's your strategy to get there? ve come today to challenge you to op wishing, stop thinking about it, nd stop trying to make it happen. ecome unstoppable.
You know, we're nurturers. We want to take care of everybody else. And yes, we should be true to our nature. That's part of who we are. That's part of our DNA
That's part of what we were equipped to do But we also must take care of ourselves We must push past negative words, for instance, that have been spoken over us, that have boxed us in Sometimes the very people we care for and we're taken care of, those are the ones who speak down to us, speak negativity over us. We must understand also that we are not our job title or the rank that we hold.
Don't get caught up in that. We have to determine in our heart to be everything, all that we were created to do. So back to my lay off story. I turned that lay off into a lay up. I knew at that time, really two years before I was laid off that I was
I had become addicted to the strongest drug that's out there. A big paycheck and benefits. Paycheck and benefits. Like a drug guess what? Drugs might feel good in the moment, but in the end, they're bad for you
What are you holding on to that's bad for you? That's what the question is How are you compromising your values to hold on to a job or a position? I was laying off people left and right, sending them home, and then I would go home. And at night I'd stay up in my bathroom crying, most of it for hours because I was compromising who I was.
I was slowly killing myself on the inside because I was doing my job. And boy, I was good at it. Two months after I was laid off, I walked into my destiny.
Three people had told me that a
sale. So I set out to locate the owner, and I just kept running into obstacles. This person, she wasn't part of the business circles that I was in She kept a low profile I had seen the magazine before, but I had trouble locating a copy of it
It published every two months, and it was at the end of its publishing cycle, and so copies were scarce But one afternoon I was driving north on a major highway in traffic, and I heard I don't hear God Audibly a lot, but I heard him say to me, pursue Guff Coast Woman. That was the name of the magazine. And I'm going to tell you, I wanted to get out of my car right then, sling the door open right in the middle of traffic and just look at the sky and start screaming and saying, I have been looking for it. I have been pursuing it for two weeks now.
Well, the next day I walked into the Night nonprofit center and I was d to a board meeting, and e sitting right in front of me a fresh stack of Gulf Coast an magazine I teared up And I the guard who was sitting at ront desk was looking at me ely, but I knew that that stack there was confirmation to me. encouragement that what I eard the day before was true. was saying, Go head, do it.
s they say, the rest is history. ken that little magazine that 4 pages, stapled booklet, and become a well respected hing platform, reaching 00 monthly online and 65,000 e in print. Every issue. We've from six issues to twelve a monthly. The staff has grown one or two people and a part to ten plus and a number of butors
ue has increased 85% in eight Let me just say that again,
85% in eight years I become one of one of the most connected, influential and successful women in my state And I'm not bragging on myself I just want you to understand that you can become the woman of your dreams, every one of you.
I'm publisher of Gulf coast Woman magazine, which is a regional and well respected magazine. I'm managing partner of CWR Digital Gulf Coast, which is a full scale advertising digital advertising marketing firm. I'm co founder of the Success Women's Conference, the number one conference for professional women globally. I was named Business and Women championed by the SBA. I've been recognized as one of 25 top African Americans in the state of Mississippi
I've been named a top ten business owner by the National Association of Business Owners I operate a publishing and branding company that helps to amplify thers messages and elevate their influence. I'm a best selling author and a best selling selling editor, having produced a New York Times bestseller after Katrina. And I'm living my dream. I am living my dream.
I am super passionate about impacting the lives of women through career coaching, creating publishing platforms to elevate them and to amplify their brand and crafting winning business strategies I love coaching business owners I love teaching them what I didn't know somebody had to teach me But to get to that dream, first, I had to slay some giants, okay? And that's what I want to help you with
To get to your goals, you're going
to have to defeat these same giants I call these giants the Eight l's
Lack of Confidence Lack of Vision
Lack of Joy Lack of Resources Lack of Sleep Lack of Support
Lack of Confidence Lack of Effort
Those are your Eight LS there? Let's break those open
I want to start with lack of vision, because without vision, you perish Okay? Quit reaching for every little shiny thing that comes your way Go get a spiritual gift assessment Take it online.
Take the Clifton Strength finder test. Ask successful people around you what you do best. Ask yourself. Take some time. Meditate on this.
Get quiet. Ask yourself, what am I doing when I am most satisfied? Write it down. See a vision that's bigger than who you are and what you do. And then just do it.
Just do it. Lack of focus. One of my favorite things is a goal without a wish is just a plan Just a plan We all have plans
We all have wishes We got to get going Making it happen Making them come true Get a coach
I got a coach last year. Yes. I spent a lot of money on it. It was well worth it. Write a plan.
Set a timeline Just do it Lack of joy If you're feeling kind of empty right now and you're feeling like I should be excited, I should be raring to go and get into some new things, I got all these things around me that's popping, that I can sink my teeth into. Guess what?
Comparison. Looking at what other people have, what other people are doing, that steals your joy. It slows you down. It sends you on a bunch of rabbit trails, and it causes you to lose your heart causes you to lose your weight. It causes you to not be feeding your soul.
When you're looking at what's on somebody else's plate. Quit looking at other people's plate. Do you just do it? Lack of resources That song says money came by you, love
And it's not always required to launch a successful endeavor, whether it's a conference When Karen Sherry and I founded the Success Women's Conference back in 2015, it wasn't that we had money that we wanted to burn, that we wanted to try. We wanted to try something. Hope it works. Throw it on the wall.
No. It doesn't always take money. If you know people, if you're willing to put in the sweat equity, if you're focused, you can just do it. I paid for that magazine company with sweat equity, my skill set, and just a little bit of cash. Just do it.
Like asleep is an L That's one of those eight L's You have to create a positive, healthy rhythm in your life Set boundaries Make time for the people who really matter to you.
Unfortunately, too often we're running around trying to do stuff for people who we want to like us We want affirmation from no Make time for the people who really matter to you The people who are investing back in you Into you The people who truly love you. Not the ones who are saying one thing in your face. Smiling. Liking your Facebook post. Saying all this wonderful stuff on your Facebook post.
And then the next moment they're turning and they're sending a mocking post or sharing by messenger something about you to somebody else. Those are not the people that you need to be investing in. One of the most painful mistakes you can do is to work so hard that you don't take time to see what's going on or where you're going Look at the people around you See beyond your obstacles and what's right in front of you on the road to success
Timing is so very important. You can miss the right connection. You can miss the right timing. You can even miss the right angle. If you're working tired all the time, get some sleep, take a day off just for you, just do it.
Lack of support. If it were going to be easy, everybody would be doing it, right? And everybody would be wildly successful, right? You're going to have haters. You're going to have to get past them, push past them.
You gonna even have people that you thought were your good friends, and they actually are the ones with all the back channel traffic talking about you People don't want you to have more than what they have. They want that
success for themselves. You have to be willing sometimes just to go it alone or to go up with just a few people And you have to be willing to remove some people from your inner circle
Separate yourself Keep your eyes on God and what he's called you to do. And if you do what others are doing and not what don't, keep your eyes on what others are doing and are not doing. Let me say that again, okay?
What others are doing and not doing, that has no impact on you. That has no impact on you. You don't need other people to affirm what God has already confirmed for your life. Just do it.
Lack of confidence. This is about faith, nerve, gospel If you think you can't, you never will My youngest son is a school teacher, and he says that to his students all the time If you think you can't, you never will You need to get a GPS
If you know where you're going, you're more likely to get there. You need a coach. You need a strategy. Just do it. And then lack of effort.
That's the final L. But perhaps it should be the number one L. While you're looking at what everybody else is doing, they're gaining ground, gaining traction. Take your eyes off of them. Get up early, work late, get it done.
Be relentless. Just do it. This is what I call my GPS. This is what it looks like. You develop a goal, a big goal, a goal bigger than you, one that you can't even imagine or think that you could do in a short period of time
And then you build a system around it This is a strategy So many people are not successful because they
create these big goals, and then they just start working toward it without any real strategy That's why I love coaching with people, to help them develop strategy If you can build a solid strategy, a solid system for how you can win every time at achieving your goal, you will be successful.
If you're selling something, you need to understand what is the system, what is the lead generator? What happens after you generate that lead? What is your pitch? What do you do to ensure that they can't say no? Okay, you need a system.
Do you have all of the technology in place? Is it automated? Put a system in place. So goal that's your G system is yours and your P, its processes, your processes What that looks like is, after you develop your strategy, then you have to build the framework for how to be successful
I see this happen so often So many people, they're very successful to have really creative ideas. Their ideas, wow, they're just like out there, and it's like, man, I wish I could have an idea like that. But what they don't do, they don't take the time to build processes in place to ensure that they're successful. You have to build your success from the ground up.
And then after you have your GPS, then you have to prioritize. This is what I told my team when we did our planning recently For the next year we will have to take some things out into the parking lot and kill them You can't get everything done You can't try to do a little bit on this and a little bit on that and a little bit on this
You need to know the one or the two or the three things that you really are going to focus on and then do those well, everything else, either find somebody else to do it or take it off your plate for now. It may not be the right season. The right timing for that still may be a good idea. Just may not be the right timing. And then team so very important.
You need to understand what you're really good at, what your weaknesses and what your blind spots are And when you're putting together your team, you're not just hiring for skill You're hiring for people who can shoot the gap for you They can cover your weaknesses They can bring in the things that you don't have.
I'm a visionary. I'm a big picture person. I create processes and systems. But guess what? Don't ask me to focus on every little detail day in and day out.
I am not good at washing the windows. I am not good at doing the dishes. But if you bring me into the house and you say, look around and tell me what I need to do to renovate this house, remodel it and make it look great, I will rearrange all your furniture I will order furniture I'll go shopping for you
Look that you will be looking great, okay? But don't ask me to put the furniture in place Okay? Don't ask me to do the heavy lifting of the furniture. No.
Get the moving company to do that. You understand what I'm saying? Know what you're good at. And surround yourself with people who can fill in the gaps for you. I want to share something with you.
And this is an excerpt from a book by Tim Grover. It's called relentless. And Tim Grover, he works with a lot of professional athletes. He says, in April 2013, four days before the initial release
of this book, my longterm client, Kobe Bryant, tore his Achilles tendon. It takes years of tireless dedication and unimaginable hard work to build a legacy like Kobe's. It takes a single instance to change everything. 1 minute you're finishing the regular season and preparing for the challenge of the playoffs The next minute, you're preparing for surgery and the challenge of rebuilding your body and your future I'm not talking about the split second it takes to sustain a potentially career ending injury. I'm talking about the moment immediately after the unthinkable happens, when your instinctive reaction determines everything else that's about to happen.
No one would have blamed Kobe for collapsing in pain and frustration. He could have allowed his teammates to carry him off the court to the predictably solemn applause that loyal fans give their fallen heroes. But instead he went to the free throw line to finish his work To me, the only question was whether he make one shot or two Made them both
Then he walked to the locker room That is relentless That's what relentless looks like. That's what superstars look like. And every one of you are a superstar in your lane.
"But you have to be relentless in order to be unstoppable. Quit wishing, quit hoping quit looking and comparing lift your eyes above your setbacks lift your eyes above things that people have said that have held you back be unstoppable you have what it takes already on the inside of you be unstoppable."
In part 1 of Relationship Roller Coasters I talked about years gone by and my recollection of trips to Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York I expressed what a big deal it was back then, especially the anticipation of what was considered the most exciting ride, “The Cyclone”. When I look at the rides that young people contend with today, at the many amusement parks that are at their disposal, it makes my Cyclone experiences seem like a piece a cake. The roller coaster rides they deal with makes my skin crawl. According to one report “Steel Vengeance” ranks as one of the largest roller coasters in the world, with a 90 degree drop straight down, four stomach churning upside down loops, and reaches up to 74 miles per hour speeds, with the tallest peak at 205 feet above the ground I can only imagine what it’s like to wait on a long line to get on that machine, with all the twists and turns, only to get to the bottom and realize you are still alive and ALL IS WELL!!!
For many years, as a school counselor, I had the opportunity to meet with students from all walks of life with many issues that they had to face. Some major overarching roller coaster problems were bullying, cutting, parents divorcing, just to name a few. These have caused their emotional, psychological, vehement and social roller coasters to be second to none, when compared with the issues faced in school years ago The three predominant issues mentioned, all stem from bad relationships, whether familial or communal The microclimate has
by Sharon Arrindellsometimes been unbearable for children, causing some to grow up at record speed, having to adapt adult mentalities, while still living in pre teen/teenage bodies
Bullying roller coasters led me, some years ago, to start what I called Bully Busters. It usually starts with the low point where children poked jokes, and then manifested into taking center stage as school crimes. This hard core roller coaster ride does not always end well, as several students in our school district bottomed out by committing suicide, and not surviving the ride at all. Cutting roller coaster ride caused students stress, which led to them getting from the pinnacle to the bottom of the ride using razors and scissors, and even sharp knives to cut into their bodies Most victims were females and when asked where they learned the art of this fearful journey, most responded social media and friends Parents divorcing is another heart churning ride that many children have to face. Its highpoint is when the adults decide to terminate a marriage, and low point when this is brought to the attention of the innocent by standing children. I cringed when explaining to some children, when they entered my office, that this divorce roller coaster wasn’t their fault. The aftermath of this has left many children in a tailspin, wondering if, at the end of the ride, ALL WOULD BE WELL, or would they make it to the end at all While these ferocious rides happened in the public school system, I have listened to these treacherous stories from youth in my private
practice as well.
Though these fierce relationship roller coaster rides are all too common, what is the ultimate remedy? Whether in the public school system or private, where does the answer lie for these turbulent roller coaster trips? Who or what do we look to for answers when faced with these ferocious relationship roller coaster rides that end with emotional, psychological, and social upheaval? How can we get to the bottom of the ride without concluding ALL IS NOT WELL!!! These and other questions have led to me being vested in counseling teens and adolescents, believing lasting healing and wholeness can be the end result of their relationship roller coaster.

I want to encourage you that to keep on being determined to stay successful, focus on making your dreams and your goals successful. Keep on being determined to focus on the great things that God is doing in your life and that he has for you Determined means to make a firm decision I also want to encourage you that to keep on being determined to stay focus on doing the purpose and the vision and the calling that God has place over your life. I am celebrating 22 years of being sober from mental health illness and a learning disability of a speech problem. It was a tough battle and a rough journey but with God’s healing and strength, I am healing, delivered and restored from it. I made through the storm and the rain and the hurt and pain from it. Now I am walking in my healing, deliverance and my breakthrough. Now I am sharing my story and my testimony through my music, my books, my talk show, my radio show, and my activism I am the founder of the #LoveYurself Campaign for mental health awareness It is 3 years since I became the founder and started the campaign I started this campaign back in 2019. The campaign is about increasing self confidence and self love and self care, continue to spread the love to each other but most importantly to ourselves. The campaign is also about self empowerment, to continuing to spread the love for ourselves and for each other. I created the #LoveYurself Campaign for World Mental Health Day, National Suicide Prevention Month and
by Coach Ashley Blanshawmore events for mental health illness. Now I am a business coach and also in the process of becoming a mentor who struggled with mental health illness and start upcoming mentoring sessions too I want this chapter also to encourage you that don’t let any obstacles, struggles, battles, addictions, negative word and comments stop you from being determined to overcome and any trial that you are facing right now. Here is my story: There is going to be times in life that when obstacles and struggles can come in the way of you trying to overcome with mental health. There are sometimes when the devil is going come to try put roadblocks or try to create chaos in your life to make you want to give up and quit and throw in the towel. Always remember, what the devil meant for evil, God will turn out for your good. Also remember that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you Yes, there are going to times in your life that an obstacle and a struggle that you are going through will cause depression to come, overcoming mental health illness is a struggle by itself but always stay faith and stay in prayer. God will make way for you and will deliver you. He did for me and he can do the same thing for you. In Psalms 121 verse 1, it says “I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from The Lord which made heaven and earth”. Always remember that your help comes from God, during your days of facing depression, God is your helper, promise keeper, light in the darkness.
During your days of going through battles of mental health, God is with you and he will heal you. Those are the spiritual scriptures/advices and devotions that I took and applied into my life during my battle of mental health illness There were so many obstacles and struggles that I was going through that cause my battle with mental health. Here is another life application: Life was hard for me, and there were times I felt like giving up. I thought about quitting, but I now realize that I was repeatedly being attacked by the devil because God was doing something greater, bigger, and better in my life God is supplying what I lost, and God is restoring me seven times greater, bigger, and better! God has a greater and better comeback for me with upgrades in miracles, signs, wonders, overflows, blessings, open doors and opportunities.

Are you one of those amazingly talented women who is perfect on paper but overwhelmed with stress, loneliness, and everyday responsibilities? If so, you are not alone
Like many of you, I am an entrepreneur and a high achiever I’m an Attorney, Magazine Publisher, Host, and CEO of a Matchmaking Agency I am also a Wife, Mother, Daughter, Friend, and more…
We do it all while wearing our “Superwoman Capes” with pride. However, I want to tell you that it is time to “Burn the Cape!” As beautiful as they are, our capes are not a badge of honor but a burden Listen, my cape was beautiful! It flowed and everything, but it was also heavy Then, it started to drag me down and I couldn’t breathe
A single mother at 25 years old, finishing law school, starting my law firm, being in a decade long toxic relationship, hair coming out, sleepless nights, being cheated on, attending all of my daughter’s practices, games, recitals you know the drill. I couldn’t breathe.
As an attorney who represented mental health patients for 10 years, I knew I was headed towards a breakdown That led me to have to make some tough choices
When you make changes in your life, you will undoubtedly experience times of guilt and you will be tempted to put the cape back on when things don’t happen when and/or how you want them. Resist the temptation. With self care and mental health & wellness at the forefront of many conversations, creating and maintaining a “work life balance” is the key to a happy, healthy life
Why? Because finding a balance allows you to be more productive professionally, whether you’re an entrepreneur, coach, author, corporate executive, speaker, employee, or a combination of those things. Additionally, it allows you to be more present and connected to the things that matter most, including yourself. You already know that people will wear you out if you let them. Now, I am by no means saying not to work hard or help people You should, but not to the point where it negatively affects you mentally, emotionally, or physically
It’s important to remember that creating a work life balance is a lifestyle change for many of us. You must create new, healthy habits and stick to them. There will be times when your stress level will be high but incorporating specific strategies to reduce it quickly is the goal.
by Tamika M. JohnsonWhen you’re ready to live a healthy work life balance so you can continue to pursue your passions while protecting your peace, here are 6 general strategies to get you there:
1. Schedule Weekly “Quiet Time” At least once a week, schedule downtime for yourself to do nothing be stimulation free (ex rest, read, sit outside, drink a cup of tea )
2. Eliminate Toxic People & Relationships
Remove or distance yourself from individuals who cause additional stress in your life and rarely relieve it. It could be a romantic partner, friend, family member, co worker, etc.
3. Cell Phone Break Most people are prisoners of their phones (i.e., “cell phones.”) Take a break from it for at least 2 hours while awake. No texting, emails, social media, taking pictures, working, etc. (ex. 6 pm 8 pm). Continue whatever you’re doing, but without the phone.
4. Therapy/Counseling Therapy & Counseling are not just for when things are going bad. It’s for emotional maintenance. Schedule a session at least quarterly during normal times, more during stressful times.
5. Consider Quiet Quitting Perform your job duties to the best of your ability and efficiently, but limit going above and beyond ALL the time, working overtime, or volunteering
6. Hobbies/Extracurricular Activities Engage in an activity that you enjoy doing that involves other people (ex. sport, book club, coloring, sewing, Meetup.com) at least monthly.

About Dr. Monique S. Robinson
The message I always share is your time and season will come don’t give up and make it happen.
I had been to unfamiliar places and experience some culture shocks, but I give myself more perspective on what life is like outside of American culture. As a military spouse, I believed life experiences and trying new things have opened up doors to new beginnings for me. For example, I had an opportunity to complete my internship in South Korea as a Psychology Major, and continue to pursue my dreams, that is, a person that empowers inspires, and encourages others to live out their passion.
What message do you share with your audiences and why is it important to you to share it?
My mantra says, led by example People take their cues from the leader It is very important to live the values that you espouse. In other words, be authentic. “Every day is another chance to change your direction and believe in the impossibilities!

I’ve always been the underdog. I’ve been counted out many times in my life before I even got into the fight. But instead of yielding to the negativity that encompassed my life, I drew from it and found strength, courage, resilience and tenacity. I’ve proved to all that have doubted me that I will succeed and I’ve proved to myself that the only one that can hinder my growth and progress is me I have many that depend on me and countless more that look to me for motivation and strength That keeps me going Representation is important and I want those to look like me to see that if a country girl from a little town in South Carolina can make, then the sky is the limit for them.
I’ve learned that just because you get knocked down, it doesn’t mean you have to stay down. I’ve learned to stop making excuses and seeking the easy way out of life. I’ve learned to look at my failures as lessons and my hurt as growing pains. I’m learning how to count my wins and to slow down long enough to enough them

One of the most difficult lessons that I had to learn was the I mattered just as much as everyone else and that I needed to pursue my purpose just as I pushed everyone else to do.
Yolanda K. Churchwell is a best selling author, a speaker and the founder of The Business Assistance Group LLC (The BAG). She used her professional skillset to create a company that helps female entrepreneurs take the hassle out of their hustle so they can make more money and have more free time She provides coaching and support to service based businesses to structure their backend operations for maximum profitability. In short, her clients get The BAG to help them
I have always been told that I can do anything I set my mind to achieve Obstacles are speed bumps, not roadblocks There are no greater cheerleaders than my support system Even on the days that I am weary, my mother and now 100 year old godmother tell me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me As an adult, I am driven by my love for God and my desire to live according to His will using my gifts and talents to bring glory to His kingdom. I do not want to get to judgment day and have Him ask me why didn't I use them. I am driven by success because I am a natural overachiever and feel joy when I am able to help others to achieve their goals.
and its growth This is a personal journey for me. I want to prevent others from going down the road I traveled. I want to change the statistic about the number of businesses that fail in the first 5 years. I want to see more people succeed at higher rates. It is imperative to me that each and everyone of us steps into all God has for us and I will use the talent He has given me to do my part to help make that happen.
I share a message to help women entrepreneurs create backend solutions so that they can take the hassle out of their hustle, make more money, and have more free time. I teach small business owners how to scale and grow their businesses for maximum profitization The greatest tragedy is not to fail in business because you do not have a strong customer base and lack revenue The greatest tragedy is to have to go out of business because you do not have systems in processes in place to support your business
The three biggest lessons I have learned that have helped me to grow the most are the importance of a strong foundation in business, being gracious with myself, and offering my business back to God daily and collaborating with Him to achieve success By not having a strong foundation in my previous business, I not only learned the difference between failure and success I discovered the gift God placed in me to help others to build a strong foundation. All my skillsets came together to show me my true purpose. That was BIG! I learned and still learn regularly that I have to be gracious with myself. The road is a journey and it is not always straight. I have to celebrate my wins and milestones, learn from the lessons and lend myself grace when I feel I am not doing enough. Finally, I have to trust God and know that since He placed the gift in me, I don't have to chase after it. I just have to abide in it as it abides in me I wake up grateful for it each day and ask Him for direction and guidance I trust His ways, His timing and His connections It is Him working through me

2) Get some sun and fresh air go outside or open your windows to allow natural sunlight and fresh air in.
3) Do not be afraid to ask for help: talk to a friend, family, doctor, or therapist. Just know you do not have to suffer in silence.
4) Have fun laughter is food for the soul. Watch a funny movie or sitcom or surround yourself around those who make you laugh
5) Meditate use words of affirmations to speak life into your situation, scriptures, soft music, or guided meditation to help you quiet the noise and focus your attention on tasks.
What drives me is having an opportunity to encourage, inspire or empower someone facing challenges in his or life.
Conduct regular emotional and mental health check ins with self and others I recognize sudden changes often cause emotions to be imbalanced, resulting in fear, anxiety and feeling overwhelmed.
Especially now, cultivating an environment to nurture emotional growth is key. It starts with being in tuned with your feelings, developing a self care plan, and knowing where to go for help. I want to encourage five actions items to consider:
1) Breathe and relax: eliminate stressors, breathe deep breaths, and get a good night’s rest
Key lessons I have learned and are still fostering growth are:
• Acknowledge my fears.
• Reflect over my past accomplishments and failures.
• Write out a plan and post it in areas to remind myself of my dream and goals
• Identify who I would like to have on my support team to encourage me through the good, bad, and ugly of being a business owner and throughout life changes
• Execute my plan and evaluate progress monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
• Take time out to rest!
• Remember to celebrate the small and big wins in life.
• To love self, be gentle and offer grace and mercy because I am a work in progress.
