Once upon a lovely time‌

It was a bright, shiny morning. The skies were a clear, brilliant blue. The flowers were rich red, pure purple and pretty pink. The clouds were fluffy white. The world was picture perfect. QT Pi awoke full of energy and ready for a new day. The doorbell rang. It was his friends Star-E and A J. They were looking way too serious.
3
‘Look QT!’ they both exclaimed together. Far out in the distance, just beyond the great green mountains, QT noticed that the sky was no longer blue. Slowly, slowly, the colour was fading from the entire valley. The mountains were fading. The sun was becoming dull and grey. ‘Oh my goodness! The colours are running away,’ said QT. ‘Look, there they go now!’
4
Balls of colour in different shades and sizes were floating through the air. They were blue-green, forest green, maroon, bright red, hues of purple, big, small and medium. Every colour you could imagine could be seen. QT and his friends each caught hold of one of the balls and floated along. ‘Please don’t leave our trees and mountains and rivers and streams. You are all so beautiful,’ QT begged.
5
‘Psst,’ came a voice. ‘Pssssssssst!’ It was a giant rainbow-coloured ball. ‘The colours are running scared,’ it whispered. ‘The Angry Black Cloud is threatening to rain on them and wash them away forever.’ ‘That’s terrible!’ said QT. ‘What can we do to help?’ ‘Grab onto me,’ said the Rainbow Ball, ‘I will take you to the Angry Black Cloud. You will have to convince him to stop.’ ‘Let’s go!’ QT said bravely. Off they flew in the sky. Up, up. Higher, higher. The people looked like tiny ants.
6
Soon, they reached a humungous cloud that was all black and stormy. ‘Why are you scaring our colours?’ QT demanded. ‘Because I want the world to be black and grey. I want to stop happiness!’ bellowed the Angry Black Cloud. ‘That’s the rudest, most selfish thing I’ve ever heard,’ said QT. ‘Please stop what you’re doing at once.’ ‘No chance. You will have to stop me! Ha ha ha!’ the cloud thundered.
7
Star-E and A J pulled out magical ropes from the Rainbow Ball. QT and his friends got to work tying up the cloud and turning it into different colours and shapes. ‘Now you are a polka-dotted poodle!’ said A J. ‘No! I don’t want to be a ridiculous looking dog. I like to be angry!’ said the cloud. ‘Now you are a striped butterfly!’ said Star-E. ‘Butterflies are too happy. Stop. You are tickling me!’ said the cloud. He had begun to laugh.
8
‘Now you are a goofy clown hat! And now a yummy birthday cake! And now a lovely pink bow!’ proclaimed QT. ‘Enough!’ laughed the cloud. ‘I will give you your colours back. I cannot take this any more!’ ‘Go home, count to ten and take deep breaths. Learn to let go of your anger,’ scolded QT.
9
The Angry Black Cloud disappeared. The Rainbow Ball dropped the three brave boys back home. The great mountains were turning a deep green. The sky was turning blue. Everything was picture perfect once again. QT was happy. His world was bright and beautiful. Everyone was celebrating the triumph against the cloud. QT and his friends had saved the day!
