When you live a busy life, having healthy meal choices ready in the freezer to cook makes mealtime feel easier. I have a full-time career, so I run my Sunset Gourmet business when it works with my family’s schedule. I have many repeat customers who order regularly and I enjoy the flexibility of working my Sunset Gourmet business around my job and my family commitments.

Whether you’re craving a taste of the Mediterranean or a zesty blend of Cajun Seasoning, we’ve got your meals covered!

The introduction of new products and new recipes is always so exciting for you and your customers. It adds a level of excitement for fall and we are entering our busiest season of the year.

Our new seasonings are jam packed with flavour and to quote Terry Baumle,

“Remember, these seasonings are all-natural, and a pinch packs a punch .”

Terry shares that these words are very powerful when she has new customers who are considering purchasing our seasonings. When they realize it takes so little, first time buyers keep coming back for more when they quickly realize the great value.

Mediterranean Greek Veggie Dip

• 1 cup sour cream

• 1 cup mayonnaise

• 2 Tbsp. Mediterranean Greek Seasoning Blend

Combine sour cream and mayonnaise, add seasoning and mix well. Refrigerate for several hours. Serve with veggies sticks.

Taste of Cajun Dip

• 1 cup sour cream

• 1 cup mayonnaise

• 2 Tbsp. Taste of Cajun Seasoning Blend

Combine sour cream and mayonnaise, add seasoning and mix well. Refrigerate for several hours. Serve as a dip for wings or with tortilla chips.

Warm Cajun Crab Dip

• 1 brick (250 g) cream cheese, softened

• 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise

• 1 Tbsp. Taste of Cajun Seasoning Blend

• 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

• 1 can crab or shrimp, well drained

Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl, mix until well blended. Stir in crab or shrimp. Place in an oven-proof or microwaveable dish. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or microwave for 2 minutes until heated through. Serve with crackers or pita chips.

Did you know that most of our seasonings make delicious dips too?

Simply mix with equal amounts of sour cream and mayonnaise - or try using Greek yogurt for a twist! Conveniently, you can MAKE A LITTLE ~ or ~ MAKE A LOT! There is no need for measuring spoons!

One capful of any of our seasoning lids is equivalent to 2 tablespoons

Greek Salad

• 1 head romaine lettuce, rinsed, dried and chopped

• 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

• 1 can (175 mL) pitted black olives

• 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced (or use cherry tomatoes, halved)

• 1 cucumber, sliced

• 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled

Get your Greek on and embrace these Greek flavours!

In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine, red onion, olives, tomatoes, cucumber and feta cheese. Toss with Greek Salad Dressing (at right).

Feta Crescent Rolls

• 1 can refrigerated Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

• 1-2 Tbsp. Fresh Harvest Garlic Olive Oil

• ¾ cup feta cheese, finely crumbled

• 2 Tbsp. Mediterranean Greek Seasoning Blend

• 2 Tbsp. butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Separate Pillsbury Crescent Rolls dough into triangles. Brush each triangle with Fresh Harvest Garlic Olive Oil and place some feta cheese and a sprinkling of seasoning on each piece. Beginning at wide end of the triangle, roll and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter and an additional sprinkling of seasoning. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden.

This zesty dressing is fresh, bold and bursting with flavour - ready to take your Greek salad from ordinary to OPA in seconds!

Greek Salad Dressing

• 1 Tbsp. Mediterranean Greek Seasoning Blend

• 1/3 cup olive oil

• 1/4 cup red wine vinegar

Combine in a shaker jar, pour over salad and toss to coat.

Take your taste buds on a tropical getaway with this recipe. Juicy pineapple rounds, lightly seasoned and drizzled with honey, hit the grill for a quick caramelized char that’s perfect with chicken or pork!

Cajun Grilled

Pineapple

• 1 fresh pineapple

• Liquid honey

Grilled pineapple also makes a delicious dessert served with vanilla ice cream!

• Taste of Cajun Seasoning Blend

Peel and core a fresh pineapple, cut into rounds. Preheat grill to medium high heat. Sprinkle with seasoning and grill for two minutes, flip and drizzle with honey and small sprinkling of seasoning. Grill for an additional two minutes and serve. Excellent served with chicken or pork.

If you like to cook once and eat twice, cook additional potatoes to make fried potatoes, to add to a soup or to a frittata.

Greek Lemon Roasted Potatoes

• 1 Tbsp. Mediterranean Greek Seasoning Blend

• 2 Tbsp. lemon juice

• 1 Tbsp. olive oil

• Salt & pepper, to taste

• 4 large potatoes, cut into wedges

Preheat oven to 400° F. In a large bowl combine seasoning, lemon juice, olive oil, salt & pepper. Whisk until well mixed. Add potato wedges, and toss to coat. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 35-40 minutes.

Gloria joined in May 2024 and had sales of $4060 in August! We asked Gloria about her Sunset Gourmet journey so far...

Before joining in May, had you heard of Sunset Gourmet?

Yes, I had heard of and used Sunset Gourmet for the past 4 or 5 years. I bought it at trade shows. When my good friend Colleen Janex started selling it, I supported her and bought regularly. I’ve been a Foodie forever and am a real spice lover (call me a Spice Girl ��), I have a dear husband who loves my cooking and I’m always looking for a way to change up our meals and make them even more delicious. Sunset Gourmet has so many enticing dips, breads and desserts and I love all the seasonings. I really knew very little about the company except that I really enjoyed the food and the diversity of products.

Tell us what made you join now?

I joined because I was retiring in June from a long financial planning career. I wanted something where I could work as little or as much as I wanted to and I was my own boss.

How do you promote your Sunset Gourmet business?

I stay busy doing 1 to 2 things a week. Facebook parties, Come & Go Taste Testing Parties and in July & August, I did 2 trade shows each Friday, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. My goal was $500 a week and I reached my goal and more! I am doing a Meal Planning event in October and one in November. I am also planning to do Thanksgiving and Christmas trade shows to promote my business. I’m planning a “Grow Your Group VIP Page Contest“ by doing a draw with all the new people who join my page or refer someone who joins my page. The more people watching my daily posts... the more online parties I hope to have!

What avenues have you found to be most successful?

I hand out business cards to almost everyone I meet and I also started a VIP Facebook page where I do sales and I do draws to invite more people to my page. I print out and offer recipes to give customers another idea for the product they bought. I consistently try to upsell; if I sell a soup, I try to sell a bread; If I sell a dip, I try to show how to make it into a dessert too. If I sell a seasoning, I offer a sauce to show wet & dry options for flavouring meals. I tell everyone (friends, family, neighbours, etc...) about my business. I am hoping to book a Freezer Meal Workshop and a Fundraiser soon. I plan to speak to teachers about doing both of those, as I have a friend who is an EA. I’ve done Come & Go Taste Testing Parties (both indoors and in the garden/on the deck) and these are my favourite thing to do! I sell as much in one afternoon as I do almost all week in a Facebook party or in 2 small trade shows.

This is our first new season launch that you have been a part of, what do you think?

The New Fall launch was fabulous, I was thrilled to meet and actually talk to Audrey at Taste on Tour! The food spoke for itself and the chili (a family favourite) and biscuits were my favourite items. The dips were very tasty too. I am a chocolate lover and the 2 new Hot Cocoa Mixes were the perfect ending to a great event (especially when we mixed them together).

What are your favourite products, how do you use Sunset Gourmet in your everyday life?

That’s difficult as I love ❤ them all, but I have to say (as a Spice Girl) the Oh So! trio was my first love! I use the seasonings the most, in fact, I don’t even put them away anymore, they’re by my stove and I’m constantly using them. I love trying new recipes and love to change up a favourite recipe by trying different seasonings in them. I also love the dips for entertaining, especially the cold dips as my hubby is a veggie fan.

I’m a big believer that you have to use or try an item or product to be able to sell it. You can’t say how good something is unless you have personally tried it! Being a big Foodie, I’m constantly looking up recipes, saving pictures and sharing ideas or meal menus using our products in my VIP group. I work very hard at anything I do, if I find a passion for something, I give it my all and that is what I am doing with my Sunset Gourmet business, thank you for the opportunity!
