A study carried out by Patricova (Territorial Action Plan on Flood Risk Prevention in the Valencian Community) has reported that 50% of the area of the Vega Baja is prone to flooding.

The sustainability of the protected land around the Torrevieja and La Mata lagoons is currently facing a new and unprecedented threat, which because of its closeness to the nearby urbanisations is doubly dangerous. The authorities have been alerted by neighbouring residents that a number of hunting groups with guns and dogs have suddenly started concentrating in various

areas of the natural park between Torrevieja and Guardamar, mainly around the road that connects the visitors’ interpretation centre with the El Campico road (Guardamar) and the edge of the lake. This activity has apparently been going on for a few months and generally at the weekend. It has been reported that the hunters entered private land last weekend as well as public areas

and stayed there from first thing in the morning until midday. According to passers-by, the group spent the morning shooting birds and rabbits and gunshots were heard continuously despite the constant traffic of people on their way to and from the Sunday market, agriculturists working on the land and cyclists using the route.

Sprucing up our greens The Provincial Council of Alicante’s Environment and Energy-Saving Commission has agreed to distribute a total of 500,000€ between 11 municipalities so that they can do up and improve their green areas. Five of the 11 municipalities are located in the Vega Baja Region and include Albatera, Bigastro, Dolores, Guardamar del Segura, and San Miguel de Salinas. The Provincial Government has also decided to spend 121,000€ to collaborate with the various town halls of the province to work on looking at climate change, using more renewable energy, pinpointing vulnerable areas and working on a plan to combat the destruction of the environment.

Hunting Threat Continued from page 1

All types of hunting activity are prohibited in the grounds of the natural park, except where special permission has been granted by the park manager or the Regional Government, which in that case hunting for rabbits is allowed with dogs but without guns. Permission is given to hunt rabbits at certain times of the year as they cause great damage to the grapes cultivated across the 40 hectares of land used to produce the famous La Mata wine.

actually the area most likely to flood in the whole of Spain. In spite of the high risk of extreme water levels and the damage that could be caused in the case of bad weather, building has gone ahead in these highrisk areas, even since 2003 when the Patrinova plan was approved which established measures and regulations so that building would not be carried out in areas prone to flooding.

Guidelines were also set out on how to proceed with building in areas that were still at risk but not as high, but most of these were disregarded also. In 2015, the document was updated and now a new document has been released to town halls, one that explains in detail the concepts and technicalities used in the Patricova plan so that town halls are not in any doubt of the terms used nor how serious the problem would be in situations

similar to that experienced in September. It also proposes new constructive solutions for the adaptation of buildings, both existing and new, in order to avoid damage to people, property and the environment, which was the main focus in this new document. Earlier this week, the new guide was presented to mayors and council representatives of the various town halls in the Vega Baja area.

THE TRUE COST OF ‘FREE’ FINANCIAL ADVICE. By Sam Kelly, Managing Partner, Chorus Financial. It’s a gimmick we’re well used to here in Spain and one that had led many in our community down a very dangerous path. We’re all aware of the phrase ‘if it sounds too good to be true’ but sadly when people think they’re getting a bargain, all common sense goes out the window. So many financial advice firms here essentially try to convince you that they are not charging for their advice, but this could not be further from the truth. So how does it really work? Well, what you’re being told is free in fact turns out to be a greatly inflated cost to you, which in many cases can run to £10,000s of layered fees per year. In Spain, as in the UK, an investment bond is a very common investment structure. Bonds can offer tax efficiency, IHT mitigation, ease of annual accounting and other benefits, and there is a number available that have been specifically designed for Brits living in Spain and ratified by the Spanish tax authorities. These products do not pose a problem in themselves, but the charging structures behind them are often

dictated by the financial adviser, rather than the product provider. What this means is you could end up agreeing to a grossly inflated fee payable over 5, 8 or 10 years which facilitates an eye-watering commission paid to your financial adviser on the very first day – we’ve seen these commissions run as high as 8%. Inevitably, the same advisers who choose to exploit such structures are also likely to be the ones who further exploit you when it comes to the actual investment funds. A bond is effectively a tax wrapper or basket, similar to an ISA. Your adviser’s job, once they’ve put you into this bond, is to choose what funds should fill that basket to achieve your required investment outcomes. The correct approach to this process is for your adviser to use their experience and expertise to build you a diverse portfolio of high-quality funds, the very best available in the market, offering fair value and the best possible opportunity to help achieve your investing goals. Sadly, what we see here in Spain is advisers placing you in a handful of ‘exclusive’ or ‘in-house’ funds, that

end up paying them even further commissions, as much as 5% more, with greatly increased annual fund charges. We’ve even seen situations with some of the larger companies where the fund managers, bond providers and financial advice company are so entrenched that their entire offering is essentially ‘inhouse’. Clients can find themselves trapped in a low-quality plan costing as much as 5% per annum for a decade. Once a client has signed the paperwork there is very little a good IFA can do short of recommending they pay the ridiculously high exit charges and start another plan altogether. Remember, these arrangements can be sophisticated, often layered and complex, and it can be very hard for an unsuspecting victim to identify what they’re really signing up to and what the real cost of that ‘free’ advice is. At Chorus, we do offer the initial part of the advice process for free. This is our opportunity to demonstrate why our proposal is ultimately better for you than other firms in the area. We do not believe it is fair to charge a client for the opportunity to compare

their options. When it comes down to our final recommendation, we’ll tell you very clearly about what charges you’ll be paying for each element of the plan should you decide to go ahead. This allows you to make that decision with your eyes fully open. Unlike the majority of companies here, we can offer plans, both pension based and Spanish compliant, with ZERO tie-in and ZERO exit fees from exactly the same provider’s other firms will try to tie you into for many years. If you’re considering a pension transfer or a tax-efficient investment here in Spain it is essential to compare your options and ensure the advice you receive is transparent, fair and suitable. Please contact me directly on s.kelly@chorusfinancial.es, 0034 664 398 702. You may also like to take the opportunity to attend The Finance Tour. Alongside short presentations from FTSE 100 investment companies, I’ll also be on the panel covering essential content for anyone with a current investment, or those considering a new plan here in Spain.

BEWARE OF MARKINGS A warning has once again been issued by the National Police to be alert for strange occurrences at your home. We are not talking about ghosts and ghouls, but more about markings, tags, or plastic clips which you may see on the door to your property, or markings on walls or gates, amongst others, in fact, anything which looks out of the ordinary. The repeated warning comes after 4 people were arrested in Elche after they tried to access several homes using a method known as “bumping”. The gang were arrested thanks to a report by a watchful neighbour who

alerted the Guardia Civil to suspicious activity around a home nearby. The men were not known to the neighbour and had been seen acting suspiciously for a few days, “hanging around” several homes, then seen entering and leaving some properties which were empty at the time, although they were surprised when they were disturbed at one of the locations.

The Guardia Civil were called and attended immediately, first observing the men and their activities, until the men became aware of the officers and attempted to flee, although they were

quickly intercepted and arrested. Upon checking the properties, the officers discovered how plastic pieces had been placed in the door frame to indicate whether the door had been opened, or, to the benefit of the burglars, that the piece remained in place, undisturbed, indicating that the property was vacant. The officers also found that some of the door locks had been tampered with by “bumping” them, a method where the lock is forced and allows easy access. After the arrest of the 4 men, all of them of Georgian nationality and between the ages of 21 and 42, they were placed at the disposal of the court, with one of them entering the Centre for Foreigners' Detention (CIE) in Valencia.

NO BOOZE IN SCHOOL! Almoradí town hall has presented a campaign aimed at school children, urging them to avoid alcohol, and drugs, under the slogan, “Be yourself, Alcohol and Drugs do not make you better.” The councillor for health in the town, Nuria Follana, ad local police officer Juan Miguel Murcia, set out the campaign this week in the hope that through education they can make young people more responsible for

their actions and avoid both alcohol and drugs, and the subsequent consequences of their consumption. The local police will begin visiting schools from today, Friday, making the students fully aware of the consequences of using alcohol and drugs, but with the overruling message that you do not need either to make you any better than you are already. The councillor said that "alcohol consumption among young people is

a very serious problem, for this reason, a c t i o n s designed to raise awareness and prevent alcohol abuse in minors have been designed by the City Council", a more than necessary initiative based on real experiences to try to sensitise children. Juan Miguel Murcia will oversee directing this campaign, with more than 27 years of experience in this field. “The objective of this initiative is to address and prevent addictive behaviours that are generated, unfortunately, at an earlier age, trying to prevent abuse of alcohol in children, which are improper ages of these habits. We try to protect this group that has a greater vulnerability, educating from the information and not from the taboo,” he said. In the campaign, other fun alternatives, outside of alcohol and drugs, will be proposed so as not to associate leisure with it. For all this, the Local Police officer

has made a calendar of talks in all secondary schools in the town, which will have a theoretical part, with audio visual material that will be given to the tutors so they can continue giving guidelines to throughout the whole course, and with a practical part, with real scenarios and cases, showing that in the face of temptation there is the option to dispense with it, given the problems in which it can derive, being the part that most impacts among minors, as Murcia has stated. Alcohol and start-up drugs will be treated, directing them by age, between 2nd and 4th of the ESO, and as a novelty the topic of tobacco and vaping will be introduced. This campaign will take place in the remainder of October and November, coordinating the tutorials of the centres with the school calendar, so that the dynamics of the course are not altered.

Not so Safe and Sound Police officers in Benidorm have arrested a hotel worker on suspicion of stealing the belongings from guests who had locked them in the safes in their rooms. The detainee, a 47-year-old Spanish man, has had 3 such offences attributed to him so far, but the investigation remains open and investigators are not ruling out finding more victims.

the characteristics of the thefts were similar, the officers concluded they were the work of one person, most likely an employee at the hotel, as none of the rooms showed signs of forced entry or disturbance.

The man also has a police record for having already been found guilty of 18 similar offences.

The officers soon identified a maintenance worker who had been accessing the rooms to warn of a problem with the safe, advising the victims they should reset the password, to which he then had access and would later enter the vacant room to open the safe and access the belongings.

The investigation began after reports were filed from within the same hotel in the town and, given that

The detainee has been brought before the courts at Benidorm to answer to the allegations once again.

FROM THE STREETS OF SPAIN TO A LOVING HOME IN SCOTLAND that he was covered in car oil and so scared that he didn't even move his head to look up at me. I touched his head and gently placed my hands around his skinny body to carry him to my car. After visiting the vets it was confirmed that Benson was actually quite healthy, but just needed good food, a warm place to rest and lots of love. Thousands upon thousands of kittens are born every year on the streets here in Spain. So many of them don't make it past their first year of life due to the dangers they face on a day to day basis, from cruelty to traffic accidents and of course too often disease and illness take over their defenceless bodies. But life can look very different for some of the few lucky ones.

After getting the care he needed, vaccines, microchip and neutered he was ready to find a loving home of his own. After publishing his story on social media, Benson got a wonderful offer to live in Scotland. From the streets of Spain to a loving home in Scotland, it was a dream come true for this little kitten.

Benson was one of those lucky street cats. I spotted little Benson when he was only a couple of months old, I was on my way to work when I spotted a little kitten frozen in fear on the roadside.

Early Monday morning Benson headed off with Craig from Pet Set Go transport company on route to his forever home. He arrived safely and is now settling in wonderfully with his new family who are totally in love with him already!

After pulling over, I quickly noticed

Kitten Facts!

Did you know that kittens are born with blue eyes! When a kitten opens their eyes around seven to ten days after birth, their eyes are blue. It is only weeks later that the true eye colour starts to show as the pigments start to appear. Kittens are born blind, deaf and toothless!

ADOPTION NEEDED FOR FOUR SIBLINGS Panda, Tiger, Bear and Puma are four beautiful kittens that were rescued by Happy Pets during the summer. This beautiful litter of kittens were found alone in someone’s garden, their mother wasn’t seen for three days and they were starving, so we suspect that something had happened to their mother. The kittens went into a foster home where they were bottle-fed. They are now thriving and ready to find forever homes of their own. There are three boys and one girl. THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES

by Nicola Farnhill Connected to Self

difficult when they are not our own.

Imagine this, each day a wife prepares dinner before her husband returns home each night and just before he arrives, she puts the rubbish by the back door, hoping that he will notice it as he walks in and quickly nip to the bin outside and pop it in. But each time her husband comes home, he looks at the rubbish, walks past it and gives his wife a hug. She feels angry that he sees the rubbish, but ignores it, she feels unloved by her husband as he is obviously not showing he loves her by helping her with the household chores and so when he hugs her she shuns him. He is confused and angry, he feels unloved by his wife who he is showing his love to, by hugging her. The wife says nothing when her husband asks her why she is shunning him, she feels he should know what she needs to feel loved. Eventually the husband stops hugging his wife every time he returns home because he cannot take the rejection. They both feel unloved and resentful of their partners lack of awareness of what they both need, however neither one of them has actually expressed honestly and openly what they need to feel loved. The situation continues and the gap between them gets wider and wider. A few years ago Gary Chapman wrote a book called 'The 5 Love Languages. This book was revolutionary in the field of relationship coaching and I am sure has changed and saved many relationships. The 5 love languages are basically 5 ways that we as human beings desire in order to feel loved, and they are different in each person. Gary Chapman stated that his research uncovered this

9

I am sure many a relationship could have been saved if more people were aware of them, especially when in unawareness they try and show their love language to their partner, instead of showing love in a way their partner desires and needs in order to feel loved. Love is who we are and it's okay to love someone but not always like them. information and that if we each as individuals took the time to discover our own top 2 love languages and that of our partners, we would indeed be able to enjoy a closer, more intimate, loving and understanding relationship. Worth a go, eh? So here we have them1. Quality time (Planning and spending time without distractions) 2. Words of affirmation (Verbally acknowledging, giving praise and showing interest) 3. Acts of service (Doing jobs that you know will make your partner happy and that are important to them)

the most. Once you have discovered this, then you can ask your partner the same question and then get more specific about each other's needs. I believe the 5 love languages not only create awareness of what the other needs to feel loved, in learning to practice what they need it shows them that we are committed to loving them regardless of whether their love languages are different or the same. When our love languages are different, then each partner has to not only learn the other's languages but also remember them, which is sometimes

We all desire love, yet for many in this world today, hate is an easier choice. But not one with a better outcome. If you have someone in your life that you don't want to be without, show them you care, show them you want to know what makes them feel loved and watch your relationship grow and the love expand beyond the two of you and out into the world. There is no stronger force.

Have a loving week Nicola xx

4. Touch (Spending time touching, not just sexually, but sensually and also random hugs and passing touches) 5. Gifts (Showing through simple or extravagant, that you have thought of the other person) The way to discover your top 2 is to ask yourself which of the 5 do you ask for and desire from your partner

DON’T CAVE IN TO THE CRAVINGS So, you want to get healthy? For many, that’s not an easy thing to do despite knowing it’s the right thing to do, especially if you’re used to an unhealthy lifestyle. One of the most difficult things about transforming your health regime is ditching the cravings - in particular, sugar and carb-loaded foods, which release those all-important feel-good chemicals like serotonin and dopamine, making us then seek them out over and over again.

And, we all know that these foods only give us satisfaction for a short period of time and that excessive consumption wreaks havoc on our bodies. Carbs and sugar give us mood swings and suppress our immune system, which in turn amplifies pain, and they make us put on weight. Although we know these foods aren’t good for us, we still want them! So how do we stop caving in to these cravings and choose healthier options? A large part of managing the cravings is to identify what is actually causing them. Is it stress, are you in fact in need of a solid meal, is your body lacking certain minerals or nutrients, or are you looking for food distractions instead of getting something done? When you work this out, you can change your lifestyle to avoid these

pitfalls. Nevertheless, while managing your lifestyle is part of the fix, when the cravings do hit, you need to find an alternative to stop you reaching for that chocolate bar or piece of cake. Read on to find out the best foods to kick those unwanted sugar and carb cravings.

providing your body (and brain) a positive boost. If we give our bodies fat to burn (instead of sugar)into this will do remarkable things to our brain and metabolic health. To satisfy your sweet tooth, try eating two tablespoons of coconut oil after lunch or dinner.

Carrot and Celery Sticks

Nuts

Celery and carrots are crisp, crunchy and full of filling fibre. They are a great in-between-meals snack that can be prepared in seconds. Dip the sticks into homemade hummus or avocado dip for something a little more filling. Adding this to your diet will not only improve your digestive health but also help control your cravings as well.

Avocado

Avocados are packed full of minerals, vitamin E and omega fats, making them a healthy snack at any time of the day. You can eat them on their own, sprinkling them with a little salt and pepper to taste, add them to a smoothie, eat them with your morning eggs or use them in a salad. Coconut Oil

If you tend to snack quite a lot, it is vital that you keep a stash of nuts with you wherever you go, especially if you’re out and about all the time and are always grabbing something quick to eat when you feel hungry. A handful of almonds, cashews, and walnuts are perfect and really healthy as they are high in omega fats, contain protein and absolutely no sugar. Do, however, avoid nuts covered in honey, salt or other flavours as these may make you crave more. Ghee-Butter

Eliminating sugar from your diet and swapping them with healthy fats can help crush your cravings while

Ghee butter is considered one of the best foods to help pacify a sweettooth. Ghee stimulates the digestive system, improves assimilation and assists elimination, all while helping kick your cravings to the curb.

Water

More often than not we turn to food when we are in fact actually thirsty. And this isn’t good if it’s making us pile on the pounds. If you are trying to lose weight and are following a plan, experts often suggest drinking a pint of water half an hour before each meal as this will fill us up so that we eat less food. Drinking enough water is also really important for our health, as it keeps out body and brain hydrated and functioning well.

your life because friendships between 2 people should be based on both parties involved, not just one! Get thinking of those subjects to distract her and be ready and prepared to turn that conversation around positively, the next time the phone rings! Davina xxx Hello Davina I have just read your article in the Sunshine News about smelly feet (last week). I have suffered from this myself & this remedy works, for me. Soak your feet in a bowl of warm water that has an egg cupful of methylated spirits each day for a week & that has more or less cured the problem for me, if it does start to come back I just repeat the procedure again & hay ho problem solved. My grandad told me about this & I have to pass the tip onto many people. Iain.

FROM MR BEAN TO DEL BOY

It was on 25 October 1972, that the 3,000,000th Mini rolled off the production line. Produced by British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000, the original is still considered a Great British icon, a symbol of liberation, economy, growth and so the entire 60s generation, the ingenious spacesaving transverse engine front-wheel drive layout – allowing 80 percent of the area of the car's floor space to be used for passengers and luggage – influenced a generation of carmakers. Leaping forward to 1999, one of the Mini´s most famous drivers, at least in caricature form, it was on this day that actor Rowan Atkinson crashed his £650,000 McLaren F1 supercar, which he had bought to celebrate the success of his feature film in the role of Mini-driving Mr Bean. The front of the McLaren F1 supercar was wrecked in the collision with the rear of a Rover Metro on the A6 at Forton in Lancashire. The driver of the Metro, suffered minor whiplash injuries, while Mr Atkinson was unhurt. Jumping back to the 60s again and it was on the same day in 1967, the King of Spain, Juan Carlos, visited Valencia to attend the dedication of the new Ford manufacturing plant, which was officially opened by Henry Ford. Having been founded in 1935, this day in 1990 was not so “lovely jubbly” as the Reliant Motor Company, famous for their three-wheeled cars, was bought

by Beans Engineering for an estimated figure of £1.5 million, having previously called in the receivers. A little step forward to tomorrow now, as 26 October 1929 is a very significant day for London, which could have changed the iconography we all recognise to this day, as it was announced on this day in 1929 that all London buses would be red, as trials with yellow-and-red buses had proved unpopular. Over in America on this day, it could have been a tragic day for Matthew McKnight, as he was hit by a car whilst trying to help accident victims on the Interstate 376 in Monroeville, about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The car was travelling at 70 miles per hour when it struck Mr McKnight, throwing him 119 feet from the impact point. Despite suffering two dislocated shoulders plus a broken shoulder, pelvis, leg and tailbone, spending 2 weeks in hospital and 80 days in rehabilitation before returning to work in April 2002, he is still the holder of the record for the ‘Greatest Distance Thrown in a Car Accident’. Please, don´t try this at home!

DOLORES PAY THE PENALTY Team:- Carlos, Morante, Fernando, Lucas, German, Pamies, Diego, Pepe, Luis, Maccan. Subs:- Perez, Manuel Sanchez, Alfredo, Dimitry, Dario.

One of those sterner tests that CD Montesinos have been awaiting, arrived on Sunday with the visit to the Cauldron of a mid-table Dolores side that whilst not exactly banging them in for fun at one end, boast one of the stingiest defences in the league at the other. A good crowd, well in excess of 200, including a goodsized contingent from Dolores, eagerly awaited the contest. Missing talismanic frontman and leading scorer Gonzalo, as well as the lynchpin in the defensive triumvirate, Santos, meant that Monte had to shuffle the starting pack yet again. The first period was a scrappy, lacklustre contest with both sides evenly matched and effectively cancelling each other out. Although, on balance, Dolores just shaded the goal-scoring chances

chart, but honestly, both looked somewhat toothless upfront. Not the battle royal or goal-fest that some had optimistically predicted.

The half petered out much as it had started, all square. HT: CD Montesinos 0 0 CD Dolores The second half served up pretty much the same stodgy fare, with neither keeper or indeed defence truly tested. Montesinos looked sluggish going forward, with nippy midfielder Luis almost alone if offering anything imaginative. Whilst Dolores seeming to be happier going across the pitch crab-like, rather than penetrating forward with any great intent. Like a lot of sides I've watched at this level, technically very good, some excellent ball players too, but, no team ethic or purpose. The match looked increasingly like finishing as a vbore draw, when almost at the death, the referee, who had made more of a nuisance of himself than some of the players with his oblique decision making, correctly awarded Monte a nailed on penalty for a clumsy foul in the box.

the crowd went wild, but they did, along with 11 of the players on the pitch. Dolores looked suitably crestfallen, given their efforts to get something from the game the wind had been well and truly, taken from their sails. A couple of nervous minutes later, the final whistle called time on an otherwise forgettable match. In the final, if simplified, analysis, Monte will play better than this and lose, but the test of a good side is to play badly and still find a way to win. They certainly did this time out and so, the crusade to gain promotion moves on to the next one. Charlie Blue, the match sponsor, selected Luis as Man of the Match. Vamos Monte. Mike Mahony and Olga Douglas had a great start to their week. Having been paired together in our ‘2 ball better ball’ competition on Monday they took the spoils with a tremendous 47 points. Close behind them with a score of 44 points (which would normally be enough to win) were Bryan Neal and the ‘evergreen’ Reg Akehurst. On Wednesday it was the third and final round of our ‘Championship’ Medal. Winner on the day, with a nett score of 70 was Olga Douglas who was followed home

by Trevor Pullyblank with a nett 72. Mike Chapman was in the frame with 73. There were three ‘2’s today going to Dave Pulling, Ron Phipps and Liz Robertson. Mike Mahony’s and Olga Douglas’s run of form continued. With the best two cards out of the three to count Mike took the overall men’s title with nett 146 whilst Olga came out top in the ladies section, also with 146. Mike only just triumphed over Mike Chapman on countback! Rachel Lee was the ladies runner up with a nett 148. Por ultimo, ‘I’ve spent most of my life golfing – the rest I’ve just wasted’ – Anon

GOALS GALORE IN THE EFL MIDWEEK FIXTURES Things have started to hot up in the EFL over the last couple of weeks with teams starting to make their mark and state their case for promotion this year in all 3 leagues.

Reading record signing George Puscas made up for an earlier mistake in the game by calmly slotting home his finish to earn Reading a 2-2 draw at fourthplaced QPR at Loftus Road.

West Brom and Leeds still hold the top 2 places in The Championship despite both sides being unable to win on Tuesday.

Gary Rowett was in the director's box watching his new side Millwall and would have been encouraged with the fighting spirit they showed as they came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Cardiff.

High Flying West Brom managed to scrape a point in the final moments of the match against Barnsley with a stunning strike from on-loan Matheus Pereira from Sporting Lisbon after Cauley Woodrow scored twice for bottom of the table Barnsley at The Hawthorns. Leeds United managed a 1-1 draw at fellow promotion chasers Preston North End after Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah equalized for Leeds after Preston opened the scoring with star man Tom Barkhuizen. The surprising result of the day was Brentford winning 3-0 away at Swansea which knocked them out of the top 6.

Another happy manager will be Sheffield Wednesday's Garry Monk as they moved up to third with a hard-fought win over Stoke, who have recently had a bit of a revival with back to back wins with manager Nathan Jones at the helm. Jones was booked on the touchline in the game as he seemed far too eager to retrieve a ball in the dying minutes by leaving his dugout and sprinting down the pitch to collect the ball. In League One, the performance of the day definitely went to Doncaster Rovers as they beat Sol Campbell's new side Southend United 7-1. Sol Campbell watched from the stands in disbelief as his

They will be hoping for a change in fortunes this week and will be boosted by appointing former Premier League stars Andy Cole and Hermann Hreiarsson as part of the Backroom staff at Roots Hall. In other League one news, Phil Parkinson is quickly becoming a fan favourite as his rejuvenated Sunderland side put 5 past Tranmere Rovers. In the bottom tier of the football league, Exeter City lost their second game on the bounce as they slipped to fourth after a 3-1 defeat to Scunthorpe United. Salford won 2-1 away at Mansfield with a goal from Adam Rooney and Plymouth Argyle maintained their recent form with a 4-0 thumping of Leyton Orient, managed by former Argyle Captain Carl Fletcher. A world title fight between superlightweights Josh Taylor and Regis Prograis and an all British Heavyweight clash between Derek Chisora and David Price has enticed boxing fans to a sell-out at the O2 this Saturday night. On Saturday, the everpopular Josh Taylor will make the first defence of his IBF lightwelterweight title when he faces confident and recognised American Regis Prograis in the World Super Series final. The WBA belt is also on the line in the bout so both fighters will be putting it all on the line in what is set to be a thrilling encounter. Another exciting fight on the undercard will be the All British Heavyweight clash between Derek Chisora and Liverpool's David Price. Chisora, 35 was set to take on former World Champion Joseph Parker but New Zealand born Parker had to pull out due to injury. It is billed as a mustwin fight for both men and there are strong rumours that the loser in Saturday's 12 round rounder will retire from boxing. Chisora will be a strong favourite for the fight after stunning knockout victories over Artur Szpilka and former World title challenger Carlos Takam.

Price, 36 has had some mixed results in recent years but won last time out on the same bill as Chisora. Del Boy's manager and former World Champion David Haye believe Chisora could be in for a World title shot if he beats Price on Saturday. Ahead of the fight at the weekend, Haye said: “The winner could end up with a world title shot soon.” "There are fighters getting popped for performanceenhancing drugs left, right and centre and spiders running around biting people. If you are in a good run of form and selling plenty of tickets with fans eager to see you, like Derek is, you can get a heavyweight title shot. There will be titles becoming vacant and, as long as you are looking good, sanctioning bodies will want the best guys challenging for titles.” Also on the undercard for the event are exciting fights between Ynes Ngabu and Lawrence Okolie, plus Ricky Burns takes on the talented Lee Selby. Nigel Benn's son Conor is also scheduled to fight but the opponent is yet to be confirmed.
