THE GORILLAS HAVE ARRIVED IN TORREVIEJA A greater police presence and intervention from Torrevieja's town hall has been called for after residents together with hotel and business owners have complained about the presence of illegal carparking attendants on the Paseo Marítimo and surrounding streets, who, they say, have carried out threats, robberies and even knife fights. The arrival of a group of people who section off part of a town and help drivers park their cars in exchange for tips is a new phenomenon in Torrevieja despite being a regular presence in many other nearby towns for up to a decade.
park their vehicles and have been accused of begging, drinking alcohol in the streets, urinating in public areas, selling drugs, squatting, violence and other threatening behaviours.
A spokesperson for the Ciudadanos party claimed that last week a woman was attacked by one of the "gorillas" and it took 40 minutes for the local police to arrive at the scene of the incident, saying they would be there as soon as a patrol
unit became free.
If action is not taken soon, the problem could threaten local tourism and the seafront could become a no-go area. A pregnant woman was kicked in the knee, mouth and stomach last Friday afternoon in Murcia after she refused to give a "gorilla" any money after she had parked her car.
However, according to locals, these car-parking "assistants", known as "gorillas" in Spanish, seem to be doing more than just helping drivers

Trapped Seven Brits had to be rescued by the Fire Brigade on Tuesday lunchtime after being trapped in a lift for 15 minutes. The incident took place in an apartment block on Calle Jumilla in Torrevieja at around 12.30pm. For some unknown reason, the lift got stuck between two floors, with the occupants having to wait until they were rescued.
No Tourist Info in San Miguel for summer The Tourist Information office in San Miguel de Salinas will be closed in July and August due to the town hall restructuring staff schedules and tasks. The town hall apologises for any inconvenience caused.

DRUNKEN WALK HOME RESULTS IN HOSPITAL VISIT An inebriated 41-year-old British man was taken to Torrevieja Hospital on Monday with pains in his stomach and a broken leg, after falling seven metres down a ravine, twice, on the Orihuela Costa.
The incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning as the drunken Brit staggered along Calle Argentina in a state of euphoria and aggression. Witnesses said that after falling
down the ravine the first time, the man just got up and carried on walking, despite the severity of the fall. Local Police arrived on the scene and tried to rescue the man, but he became aggressive and refused their help.
The jaunt eventually ended close to the golf course in Villamartin, when the man fell a second time after trying to climb up the ravine in Calle Hawaii.
This time, members of the Torrevieja Fire Brigade stepped in and pulled him out. It wasn't until a fellow Brit explained that the members of the emergency services were only trying to help him that he calmed down and stopped being aggressive. He was then taken to the hospital in Torrevieja after complaining of severe pain in his stomach and leg.

The emergency services received a call a little before 3 in the afternoon and sent both a paramedic and basic ambulance to the scene. Medics tried to resuscitate the man at the scene, but without success. ALICANTE ELCHE AIRPORT SET TO BREAK RECORDS Alicante-Elche airport is set to break its record for passenger numbers during July and August, with almost 4,500 scheduled flights and a total of 3,203,520 seats booked to
fly into the airport.
This figure is a three-percent increase in passenger numbers for July and August last year.
Every day during these two months an average of 330 flights will touch down in Alicante. However, on 12 days during this period, the number of flights arriving in Spain will exceed 340 a day. The busiest day will be Tuesday, 6 August, when around 70,000 passengers will pass through the terminal heading for one of the 379 flights due to leave
TOP RANKING FOR MIL PALMERAS BEACH Did you know that Mil Palmeras beach has been ranked as one of the 10 best beaches in the whole of Spain?
According to a report from the digital newspaper El Español, the seawater at Mil Palmeras is one of the cleanest and most uncontaminated in the country. To determine Spain's top beaches in 2019, El Español studied data from the European Environment Agency, in particular looking at the technical report for the quality of the bathing water.
The best beaches in this year's ranking have all maintained contamination at almost non-existent for a number of years, making it not only a pleasure to bathe in but extremely safe as well.
Cala Cortina (Cartagena),
Las Marinicas (Carboneras, Almería), Playa El Bombo (Mijas, Málaga) and
the airport that day. This is the highest number of flights ever to be programmed for any day since the airport opened. Tuesday this week was also another spectacular day for flying with 373 flights. For anyone that doesn't know, Tuesday is almost always the cheapest day of the week to fly. With no one taking any notice of the supposed Brexit fears, the Brits are coming out to Spain in their droves, with the Belgian, Dutch, French and Italian markets also faring
well. A total of 12 million seats have been offered between 1 May this year until 31 October by airlines that fly to Alicante-Elche airport, which is a ten-per-cent rise on the same period in 2018. The UK has the largest number of seats on offer with 4.6 million available, an increase of 9 per cent from last year.
MAJOR THEME PARKS CLOSER THAN EVER If the idea of visiting one of the major theme parks in the area is both appealing for the fun but unappealing for the distance, they are now closer than ever thanks to the regional transport operator. Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), is offering a combined ticket for sale from some of their tram stations, which includes
transport on the tram, entrance to the park, and a connevcting bus service to bridge the gap. For us on the south side, the downside is that we will still have to get to Alicante, the closest link station, but the upside is that the tickets cover Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar, all located in Benidorm.
Cala Millor (Mallorca).
Mil Palmeras beach was particularly highlighted for the fact that it has enjoyed its Blue Flag status continually since 1999, its easy access for people with reduced mobility and great carparking availability. Other beaches in this year's top 10 ranking include:
SON CLAIMS DEAD MOTHER’S PENSION FOR SEVEN YEARS The Guardia Civil have arrested a 66-year-old Spanish man in Dolores for allegedly defrauding the social security system after claiming his mother’s pension, in her name, for a total of seven years. The Guardia Civil were alerted to the possible fraud after someone, obviously known to the Spaniard and his mother, turned up at the police headquarters and communicated their suspicions. It was immediately discovered that the man’s mother had in fact passed away in 2011 and that the son

Further investigation then found out that the Spaniard began claiming his mother’s pension the month after her death and continued to do so until March 2018, when the bank noticed that the mother’s ID card had expired and asked for proof of an updated one. On receiving nothing, the bank then proceeded to block the account. The amount of money the man had fraudulently obtained totalled 34,600€ - the equivalent of 82 months of pension. The Dolores resident was arrested and after giving his statement he was released on the provision that he attends the Guardia Civil headquarters when required.

FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE A DROP AT A TIME Although we may sometimes take it for granted that water flows from the taps in our homes, there is a massive infrastructure which allows that to happen, managed by a variety of different modal companies.
The projects presented by the teams were so advanced, they have been selected for entering into the world finals of a competition aimed at providing practical solutions to saving the planet.

The Costa Blanca has become a centre for ecological technology over the years, with developments such as the water desalination plant in Torrevieja playing a big part in future planning of water conservation, despite the political arguments and cost criticisms, and the development of countless solar and wind farms in the area which are gradually set to take over traditional power provision as the sun and the wind´s natural energy is converted to electricity. A vast expanse of land in Elche, for example, was converted from agricultural use and now hosts one of the biggest solar farm plants in the area.

GUARDING THE PIRATE ISLAND
Despite only having an officially registered population of 56 inhabitants, during the summer months the island of Tabarca welcomes around 5,000 tourists every day during the summer, and so the Guardia Civil has set up a temporary post there. Tabarca is also commonly known as "Pirate Island" where hoards of bandits would gather to prepare before attacking the Alicante coastline throughout history.

The Guardia Civil will have officers posted to the island until 15 September, the official end of the summer season, and will be on hand to offer any assistance required during this time.
After a decade, the beach has recovered its Blue Flag for quality this year, but caution must be exercised

FOSTERING SAVES LIVES Fostering an animal for a local shelter is a crucial part of animal rescue. You can be the difference between life and death.
Fostering a shelter animal means bringing a dog, cat or other animals into your home temporarily, providing them with the necessary care, and nurturing them until they are ready to be placed with a forever family. Some pets need a temporary foster home, whilst others may need a long-term foster home.
Reasons to foster When you foster an animal, you are not only giving that animal a second
chance, you are also freeing up space at the shelter for another animal in need. Fostering is such a rewarding and heartwarming experience. To watch a sick, injured or nervous animal transition and flourish is just amazing. Many shelter animals desperately need one on one care and attention. Some pets may require medication and supervision, others may need to improve socialisation skills with
humans and other dogs. Newborn puppies and kittens require around the clock care, something that shelters can
often not provide. By providing this care, you are also giving the animals are a better chance at finding a forever home. Thanks to your help, they are prepared for adoption.

Contact your local shelters about becoming a foster carer. Those of us in the animal rescue world are always so incredibly grateful to receive this important and much-needed help. Rescues can guide you on how to start the foster process, which is usually very simple. In most cases, the rescue will ask you to fill out an application and when approved, most rescues do a home visit to meet you in person and check that your home environment is safe for foster pets. Once we know your home and garden is safe and an escape free zone, it’s time to start saving lives!

Dear Davina... Dear Davina,
Dear Reader,
My husband moved back to Ireland as we divorced last year. I live here with our 2 small children and he has flown out to visit them 4 times in the last year. Since moving back he has brought a different girlfriend with him to meet our kids, a different one every time. Am I wrong to say that he shouldn’t be doing this, I don’t want him to think I am being jealous? Anon Do you want help or advice from Davina? It's extremely rare to meet anyone that hasn't been affected by stress at some point in their life. For some, stress could be pressure at work, exams, moving house, while for others it's an illness, single parenting, getting divorced or any other situation that taxes you emotionally, mentally, physically or intellectually. While our bodies have been designed to deal with brief episodes of stress, prolonged amounts of pressure on a regular basis can have huge adverse effects on a person's physical and mental health. In fact, researchers and doctors have recently linked stress to inflammation in the body. Not only that, but it has also been discovered that the body recognises inflammation as the beginning of many serious degenerative diseases including arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, digestive disorders and asthma. So, what does that tell you about the effect that stress has on the body? How does the body react to stress?
Forget about appearing jealous, you need to put those little people first! It must be hard enough for them to adapt to no longer having Mummy and Daddy together, let alone a string of new strangers in their lives. In my opinion, your ex-husband is being selfish and should be making the most of every second spent back together with his children.
If your ex is not prepared to listen to and respect your concerns then I would seriously consider putting some legal rules in place.
Naturally your children will learn to adapt to this huge change of Daddy no longer being around on a daily basis, however, this should be done at a slow pace.
As a responsible mother, you will naturally want to protect your children fully, this may mean being tough on him. Your little ones must come first,
Having various women in and out of their lives will only confuse them, especially if they become attached to certain ones.
I wish you much luck.
What kind of message does this send out to them!

WHAT IS STRESS?
When faced with a stressful situation, the body's initial and natural reaction is to prepare itself for approaching danger. The adrenal glands, located on top of each kidney, release adrenaline and other types of stress hormones, giving the body an immediate burst of energy, focus and strength. This is the fight-or-flight response in which you will either escape the danger or confront the foe.
While this is a healthy and natural response, complications will most certainly arise if the stress and pressure persist. Over time, the body's energy and nutrient reserves are depleted as the body ends up producing
abnormally high amounts of stress hormones to help cope with the continual pressure.
In the end, this results in complete exhaustion and even a nervous breakdown as the body's energy reserves end up totally empty and haven't been given time to replenish or repair. In addition, blood pressure increases – a natural response to thinking the body is in danger, too much acidity is produced in the stomach from constant fear and anxiety, sex hormones are reduced, and the brain becomes starved of glucose, which is vital for it to function properly, thus mental capability is also impaired.
The only reason that people stay in stressful situations for a long period of time is because of fear. Fear of change and of the unknown. As a result, they learn to cope or get by. What they don't realise, though, is that they are not doing themselves any favours in the long run and in time could end up seriously ill. Many don't even realise that when they do get ill, it was staying in the stressful situation that caused it. How do you know if you're being affected by stress? Well, if you are suffering any of the following symptoms and have been coping with a lot of stress and pressure for a long time, it may be that you are severely stressed:
At the same time, the immune system is being bombarded with extra pressure, causing it to weaken and gradually shut down. When the immune system is weak, infection and illness can attack.

What can you do?
Not getting stressed over certain situations is easier said than done. However, remaining calm is of utmost importance, especially when it comes to your health. There are several things you can do to help you feel calm, relax and cope with difficult issues. First, having a close network of friends and family around you is really important and will help you feel like you're not dealing with everything on your own. It's good to talk and people love to help if they can. No one wants to see their partner, friend or family member going through a traumatic situation. Finding a good outlet to relieve stress is also paramount. This could be some form of exercise, which will tire you out and help you sleep as well as lifting your mood due to the release of endorphins, the ‘feel-good' hormone, or it could be a pastime that you enjoy such as painting or photography. It has also been found that breathing techniques are also useful, as are relaxation exercises such as yoga, tai chi and meditation. A well-balanced and healthy diet is fundamental and

LIVING WITH INTENTION How do you intend to experience this day? Do you intend it to be a good one, full of experiences and happiness? Or do you see it as being full of trials and tribulations, with mountains to climb? There are lots of people that awaken in the morning and expect the worst, they try to prepare themselves for the worst. But how is that really possible, when we have no idea how the day will really pan out?
when you might be making someone's day. They may be feeling lonely or sad and a single smile often is all one needs to feel connected and cared for. Have you ever smiled when you feel sad? The relief is almost instant....it's impossible to feel sad and smile at the same time, try it and you will see! Why not plan to include things that make you feel good and that you enjoy. They don't have to be things that cost money or take a lot of time,
So wouldn't it be much better to start with the intention of having a good day? To begin with a positive mindset and expect the best from it? Fear of failure and negative experiences from the past are the real reasons we awaken and feel that things will be a tough and a struggle. But I feel life is really too short to waste it in this mindset, that's why I believe we have to live with intention. We need to have the intention of living each day like it was our last and have the desire to make it the best one possible. You can do this in a number of ways and as we are the masters of our lives, it really is worth the effort, leaving nothing to chance. So why not start with the intention of smiling at strangers....you never know
by Nicola Farnhill Connected to Self Contributing to others outside of yourself is a spiritual act that lifts the soul, it is necessary for our daily life. So why not hold open a door, or stop at a crossing to let someone pass. Why not carry the bags of an elderly neighbour or help them in their home or garden and see how such simple tasks make a difference. It's all too easy to think about our own needs and not those of the people around us. Plan to recycle or participate in local events that are working towards making a difference to the environment. We too often complain about the world we live in and think it is up to others to create changes but the truth is we need to work collectively to make a difference to the world we live in.
they can be simple things like walking the dog on the beach. Or having coffee with friends. Maybe your happy place is at the gym or maybe you get great satisfaction from cleaning your home to music you love and creating a beautiful space. Make time in your day for these things. Helping others to feel good is always something that creates happiness, not only for them but you too.
As human beings, we often hold grudges against perceived wrongs, but this only holds us in a place of anger and resentment, so live with the intention of moving on and forgiving. You may never forget and that is ok, but there is no point putting energy into things that hold you in pain, remember you are responsible for how you respond to the words and actions of others. You are in charge of your own happiness To work towards success and happiness we must make plans to improve and
for a better future, so live with the intention of working through your goals. Write them down and as you take each step, tick them off your list, this will not only take you nearer to your dreams but give you a daily sense of purpose, achievement and happiness. You can either allow life to carry you along like a small boat in a big storm or you can steer and direct it with intention. And you can start at any time. So how do you intend to live your life? FIVE TOP TIPS FOR A SUMMER ROAD TRIP There are few feelings better than leaving the stresses and strains of work behind, packing up the car and taking to the road, sometimes with a destination in mind, other times just seeing where the road might take you, but even though a road trip can be an excitingly dreamlike experience, the last thing you want is for it to turn into a nightmare. Here are our five top tips for making sure your trip goes without a glitch, through a little bit of preparation: Documents: By now we all know that there are certain documents which must be carried, but it is always worthwhile checking before a long trip, just in case one has been misplaced. You never know when you might need to produce these and the quicker you can, the sooner you will be on your way.
You must carry both the ITV (Inspección Técnica de Vehículos) Card and subsequent report from the last test (if your vehicle is old enough to require testing).
The vehicle´s logbook is also compulsory, Permiso de Circulacion, which details the owner and identification of the vehicle. It is not mandatory to carry your insurance documents as it is all recorded on a central computer, but it is advisable to carry some form of proof, such as a payment receipt, which includes the policy number, in case you need to exchange details with another driver, for example. Another document which is not compulsory but is advisable is the European Accident Agreement. This is a standardised form which both parties involved in an incident complete and sign to say they agree to the circumstances of an incident or collision, not apportioning blame, simply recording the facts. The
form can then be submitted to the insurance company in the event of a claim. One of the unique elements of this form is that although it is available in multiple languages, the layout is exactly the same, and so you are able to complete the answers on the form in any language by simply referring to the questions in your own. Make sure the identity information is recorded and the form is signed before leaving the scene.
Tyres and wheels:
It is mandatory though that the documents you carry are the originals, not photocopies. The only copy that is allowed is one that has been stamped and certified by a Notary. Notarised copies of documents are allowed, but that is the only exception.

TEMPORARY N-332 WIDENING SCHEME SUGGESTED Although it feels like the story has repeated itself almost since time immemorial, often nothing more than a political argument of who should, did, or didn´t do what, a temporary solution to the congestion on the N-332 as it passes Torrevieja may be simpler than anyone realised, until now. Pilar Gómez Magan, representative of the Ciudadanos group in Torrevieja, has announced that the political party has made contact with central government to ask for the road to be widened immediately, by utilising the hard shoulder and temporary lanes using cones and beacons. This sort of layout is common at busy times such as summer, when temporary lanes are created in many
areas in order to improve traffic flow, and, as Ciudadanos state, with 300,000 inhabitants in the summer, it is an obvious solution to the problem as it could very simply double the capacity of the road. The debate over the road was

opened once again following the tragic death of a cyclist near Torrevieja, although that is one potential risk to the temporary widening scheme as there would be no safe space for cyclists, or emergencies, as the traffic lanes would be consistently flowing.

A GUIDE TO SPANISH TAPAS
If you live here in Spain and have never tried some ‘tapas', you haven't lived. Well, that's obviously an exaggeration, but you will have definitely missed out on a wonderful experience that is one of the defining traditions of living in this country. What exactly is a ‘tapa'? A ‘tapa' is a small serving for one person of a hot or cold dish that is usually inexpensive and quick and
easy to prepare and serve. For the most part, there are only one or two main ingredients. The word ‘tapa' literally means lid or cover in Spanish. Tradition Tapas, contrary to what many people think, are not eaten at the usual mealtimes. They are actually a snack consumed before the two biggest meals of the day. You would generally have tapas around 12 pm and 7 pm; before lunch and dinner. Traditionally, people would also
always eat tapas standing up, propping up a bar somewhere, not sitting down, which is customary these days.
These small dishes used to be free of charge and were a token of gratitude from the bar owner for choosing his establishment to buy a drink. There are still parts of Spain in which you will never be charged for a tapa, but these are becoming increasingly hard to find in most regions.
History Many historians claim that the tapa originates from southern Spain, in Andalucía, to be exact. The tapa was apparently a midday snack for field workers who toiled for long hours and needed refuelling because the gap between breakfast and lunch was so long. It is said that the tapa was born in the sherry-producing areas of the region and that people used to eat
them as an accompaniment to their glass of sherry. Bar owners used to cover their customers' sherry glasses with a piece of bread in order to prevent flies from dropping into the glass. This then developed into covering the glass with a plate containing a small chunk of cheese or a couple of olives. They usually selected something salty to encourage further drinking. Tapas-hopping
Tapas aren't meant to be eaten as a main meal, although many people these days do get together and go to a restaurant, ordering a couple of tapas each and then sharing between everyone present. The way in which to get the best experience is to bar-hop from one place to another, sampling just one tapa and one drink in each establishment before quickly moving on to the next place. It's a great way to explore an area, try different foods and styles of cooking, and exercise at the same time! On the menu The way in which tapas are displayed and advertised ranges from place to place. In some bars, the range of tapas are presented to the customer on the counter in refrigerated and covered containers. You basically have to inspect each one to see which takes your fancy and then order from the waiter behind the bar.
the waiter, who will then reel off a long list of about 15 tapas off the top of his head and you'll have to choose from that! Remember that a tapa is a portion for one person, but a ‘ración' will serve two or three. A ‘ración' is also much more expensive, so don't get caught out otherwise you could be faced with an expensive bill at the end of the meal. Variety The great thing about tapas is that they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, temperatures and flavours. Most of the regions have their own specialities that you wouldn't find in any other part of the
Other bars will hang a large blackboard on the wall behind the bar which has a complete list of all the tapas written on it, or they may display the board outside as a way of attracting customers.
country, and these would be in addition to the ones like ‘tortilla española' (Spanish omelette), which you would find in every bar in the country.
Few places will make the procedure of ordering tapas easy by having a tapas menu, but they do exist. And then there's also every nonSpanish-speaking person's nightmare when there are no displays, no boards, no menus, no lists and you have to ask
The possibility for the number of existing tapas is immense, but the general rule for those that prepare them is that the ingredients are inexpensive, the tapa can be prepared quickly and without fuss and can then be left in the refrigerator for most of the
day without spoiling. The old-style of tapa was always humble and made with fantastic natural and fresh ingredients. The further north or inland you go, the spicier the tapa. They are usually served hot in the colder climes, too. In the northern part of Spain, you would most likely be offered something like patatas bravas (spicy fried potatoes), pimientos rellenos (stuffed peppers), or a meat-based tapa such as albóndigas (meatballs) or callos a la madrileña (pigs' trotters Madrid-style). Along the coast, of course, you're most likely to be given a tapa containing some
sort of fish or seafood, for example, gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns), boquerones fritos (whitebait) or calamares a la Romana (squid rings in batter). And, further south you're more likely to come across cold tapas, especially in the summer. This could be anything from a few olives to jamón serrano (serrano ham) or ensalada murciana (Murcian salad).

SUNSHINE FM PRESENTER PROFILE : CARLA STONE Carla Stone, Sunshine FM´s brunch time presenter was born into a military family in Germany. Returning to England at the age of three she then moved with her two older sisters around different parts of the country and finally settling in Kent at the age of 9. Finishing school at the age of 16 her father decided a trade was imperative and although Carla wanted to pursue music she was told that she could not have a career in music and was sent off to Hairdressing College.
A short-lived attendance to college led to Carla moving out into the world by herself and pursuing the dream that she had of becoming a singer! At eighteen years old she got her dream job as a redcoat at Butlin´s in Skegness, a great opportunity to develop her vocal skills and meet many famous people along the way. Then she was recruited by the resident band and spent many years travelling with different bands until settling into the duo, Sunflower Valley.
Carla moved to Spain in 2005 with her daughter, Danielle and son, Mackenzie and continued in the entertainment business, she now runs a theatre group for both children and adults, a rock choir and gives private vocal coaching. Carla joined Sunshine FM after she was recommended by another presenter and spent a year on the Saturday night slot. Two years later she returned to pick up the reigns from Sarah Simpson on the Brunch time show and has been with the company for three years so far. Her hobbies! When she has the time they include: driving, horse riding, cooking and spending quality time with her family and friends trying new things. Plans for the future are to travel the world, work a little less, and finally find some love for the Gym! LIGHT AT THE END OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CORRIDOR With many of the promises and proposals still left unfulfilled, one of the main business associations in the Valencia region, Asociación Valenciana de Empresarios (AVE), has recognised the progress made on the development of the coastal transport infrastructure, the so-called "Mediterranean Corridor", since November. The group were responsible for creating a movement that would lobby for the developments to be completed, whilst also keeping a check on the progress every six months. The #QuieroCorredor movement has been rightly critical of lack of progress in the past, and whilst acknowledging the leap in progress in this period, are still calling for more speed in the execution of the overall plan.

RENTALS ON THE RISE
For our area, the key areas that the group want resolving are the highspeed train link direct to AlicanteElche Airport, for which a feasibility study has barely even begun, and improvements and standardisation to some of the railway lines around Elche. Work has begun in developments outside our area, which the group is praising, and tenders have now been issued for others, with the president of the AVE group, Vicente Boluda, saying that the first half of the year, compared to previous years, has "more active", especially with regard to elapsed tenders, but now we must see if those tenders "become realities". The next progress check will take place in Elche on 28 November, which will coincide with a major regional business event bringing entrepreneurs and representatives of the Spanish civil society together.
According to the latest property report from Pisos.com, the average price for renting a property in Spain went up 16.3 per cent during the first quarter of this year when compared to the same period in 2018. This is also a six per cent increase from the previous quarter. During the first six months of 2019, the average property rented out measured around 125 square metres and the cost to rent was a whopping 943 euro per month. The most expensive regions to rent property during this time were Madrid (1,671€/month), the Balearic Islands (1,339€/month) and Cataluña (1,194€/month), while it was the least expensive to rent in Extremadura (466€/month), CastillaLa Mancha (555€/month) and Galicia (565€/month).
regions, notably La Rioja (-3.3 per cent), Asturias (-2.4 per cent) and Aragón (-0.8 per cent). Director of Studies at Pisos.com, Ferrán Font, warns that the continual rise of property rental prices is creating tension between owners and tenants and says that rental prices must return to "reasonable" levels. If not, the younger generation will struggle with creativity and entrepreneurial flair if each month they are stressing about not having enough to live on after paying their rent, which in the long term will be detrimental to society and the Spanish economy as a whole.
The biggest increase in rental prices was seen in Navarra, where they rose 14.3 per cent during this six-month period. However, prices did go down in a few

BRITISH GP TO REMAIN AT SILVERSTONE UNTIL 2024 The British GP will remain on the F1 calendar at Silverstone after a five-year contract extension was agreed to keep the race at one of the most popular and iconic tracks on the circuit. The race's future was in serious doubt after the circuit ended up with a break clause in its contract with F1 two years ago - and this weekend's Grand Prix was set to be the last unless a new arrangement could be found. But a new deal to keep the sport at Silverstone until 2024 was finally confirmed on Wednesday as F1 chairman Chase Carey said that the
event would be staying at its legendary home.
Britain staged the first F1 world championship race in 1950 at Silverstone, while the Northamptonshire track has been the permanent home of the event since 1987. "We always have said that, if it to have a long-term future, our sport must preserve its historic venues and Silverstone and Great Britain represent the cradle of this sport, its starting point back in 1950," said Carey.
added: "We believe Formula 1 is stronger with Silverstone and we believe Silverstone is stronger with Formula 1." The track will be celebrating its 70th anniversary of F1's first race next season. F1 has stated that it wants to retain classic European circuits on the calendar, but

Lewis Hamilton, who is looking for a record sixth British GP victory this weekend, had previously described the Silverstone event as "a Grand Prix we can never lose". it," he told the worlds media ahead of this weekend's race. The main race starts on Sunday at 3.10 pm.

LAS RAMBLAS GOLF SOCIETY Results for w/c 8.7.19 Our week started with the ever-popular 3-2-1 Dusty Bin. In second spot with 87 points were myself, Geoff Biggerstaff, Bryan Neal and Petina Murray. Taking the honours, with 90 points were Dave Pulling, Mick Brentnall, Nigel Price and Marleen Billen. Both Dave and Mick were in the record scoring team for this competition (with 96 points) back in 2014. Wednesday's Stableford competition had the twist of being a ‘Joker'. Each player nominated two holes before starting where the points scored were
doubled. Reg Akehurst was obviously still enjoying a sugar high from all that 90th birthday cake he ate last week as he romped home with a very impressive 45 points. (This weeks ‘photo of a very dapper looking man, is the world-renowned horse trainer, Reg, taken when he was in his sixties). With 42 points (which I thought would be enough!) I managed 2nd place and Olga Douglas took bronze with 41, on countback from Richard Connock. Four 2's today with Harry Howard making two of them! The others went to Dave Pulling and Pete Dunn. Finally, golfer says to caddy, ‘You've got to be the worst caddy in the world.' Caddy replies, ‘I don't think so. That would be too much of a coincidence.' Pues, hasta la semana que viene Peter Reffell
