NO MORE CONTACTS! Firefighter Sees Clearly After Lasik at Braverman Eye Center Jorge L. Barreto, a retired Miami fire captain and owner of a business called Recycle Capital, had been wearing contact lenses to correct his severe nearsightedness since he was 15 years old. Because he couldn’t wear glasses when fighting fires, he was forced to sleep in his contacts whenever he was on duty at the station. “I had to keep my saline solution beside me all the time,” he says. Fruitful Harvest
Our History: Susan Ellman and Ellen Davis began what is now FruitFlowers under the name Incredibly Edible Delites, Inc. in 1984. Initially a cottage industry, the two producing fruit bouquets from their own kitchens, FruitFlowers quickly blossomed into a multifranchise organization with locations all over the country. What started out as a great party idea, quickly bloomed into a healthy, exciting and delectably delicious alternative to sending flowers. FruitFlowers bouquets can be found in hospital rooms or nurses stations, on conference tables or cocktail tables, delighting and impressing. We’re here to Celebrate what’s Important to You: Whether it’s the arrival of your brother’s new baby, a gal-pal’s birthday or your grandson’s stellar report card— we bring to the table the most tasteful and tasty choice in sculpted fruit arrange-
ments. Heck, if you feel like celebrating because it’s Tuesday (or any other day that ends in “y”), we have our just because bouquets—perfect for everything else! What Sets us Apart: At FruitFlowers, we create floral masterpieces of color and aroma and—they’re edible! We use only the highest-quality produce—all of the fruit is ripe, sweet, juicy, and preservative-free. Our signature bouquet, the Grand Floral Fruit, is a cornucopia of sweet, light fruit is brimming with pineapple daisies with leaves made of honeydew and cantaloupe, interspersed with succulent strawberries, tropical kiwi and tantalizing grapes. The Importance of Fruits and Vegetables: When consumed as part of a well-balanced diet, fruits and vegetables are healthy options that can greatly decrease your risk for chronic diseases including Type 2 diabetes and even cancer.
