A white lie about a plate of cookies is the first tipoff to the flexible ethics of 30something Manhattan hipsters Valerie (Catherine Cohen) and Doug (Aristotle Athari). Trouble brews in the haven of their Upper West Side rent-controlled apartment when horrendous noise from below begins to punctuate their days. Rather than confronting the couple downstairs, the pair plan to trap their neighbor’s actress girlfriend with a complex revenge scheme involving auditions and rehearsals for a non-existent play. Spinning a comic clash of New York types and lifestyles, Director/Co-writer Wolther escalates the action to the tipping point of a fake opening night, where Emmy-nominated comedian Ikechukwu Ufomadu manages to steal the show in a tour de force performance. Chloe Cherry co-stars.

Two VIPs from the film are expected to attend SASIFF’s closing night screening in Delray Beach and participate in a postshow discussion with the audience.

Desperate for funding, the teacher gets tipped off to a high-stakes underground gambling ring where Yaniv, “the Blackjack of the Jewish people,” is the game of choice. The catch? We all felt very lucky to be there among these elite pilots, support officers and enlisted personnel and to see how incredibly proud they are to be on this team. There is just a tremendous amount of joy and love, diversity and inclusivity, camaraderie and friendship. The most daunting part for us, as filmmakers, was how to capture it all and bring it to IMAX screens.”

Producer J.J. Abrams added, “A documentary following an entire year with the Blue Angels - and doing it in IMAX with tools that are traditionally used in narrative storytelling - felt like an amazing opportunity. Most of the preparation and planning went into filming the aerial maneuvers, but it doesn’t compare to what they go through in preparing for their season. It’s a remarkable thing to see.”

Glen Powell, best known for his starring roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters, stepped behind the camera to serve as a producer. “When we look up and see something spectacular, we just take it for granted that it is right,” he noted. “But we don’t see all the effort that it takes to bring that spectacular thing to life. Watching these people sit around the table literally ‘chair flying’ the entire demo and then breaking it down, you feel that relentless pursuit of perfection. It’s a different language; you can’t even process what they’re saying, but you know there is intent behind everything. It really makes it crackle.”

The film is a fitting tribute to the extraordinary teamwork, passion and pride of the hundreds of outstanding men and women of the Navy and Marine Corps who have had the honor to serve in the Blue Angels squadron...past and present.

The Blue Angels was directed by Crowder and produced by Powell, Sean Stuart, Glen Zipper, Mark Monroe, Abrams and Hannah Minghella. John Turner, Bill

O’Dowd, Emerson Davis, Rob Stone and Greg Wooldridge served as executive producers, with Maren Domzalski and Bridget Topp co-producing.

The Blue Angels is a Bad Robot, Zipper Bros Films, IMAX Entertainment and Dolphin Films Production, in association with Amazon, MGM Studios, Sutter Road Picture Company, Diamond Docs and Barnstorm Productions. The film runs 45 minutes.

The AutoNation® IMAX® Theater at the Museum of Discovery and Science is located at 401 Southwest 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312. As we step into 2025, the new year is a chance to embrace healthy living. For seniors and other Florida residents who are eligible for Medicare, key wellness goals start by making healthy decisions in collaboration with your doctor and health plan. When planning for your health in 2025, consider the following goals and tips.

Wellness Goals for a Vibrant 2025:

Stay Active

Ask your doctor about physical activity tailored to your ability level. Consider online fitness programs that offer a range of exercises from yoga to light aerobics, which can improve mobility and overall health. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, explore any fitness program covered by your plan.

Eat Well

A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains can help combat disease and keep you energized. (1) For a dietary plan that meets your specific health needs, ask your primary care physician to recommend a nutritionist or nutrition program if covered by your health plan.

Regular Check-ups

Seeing your primary care physician at least once each year may help prevent or identify concerns before they become problems. (2) Keep up with regular screenings and preventive services covered by both Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans.

Mental Health Matters

Prioritize your Mental Health by staying connected with loved ones, engaging in

cial. Familiarize yourself with your Medicare benefits to assist in budgeting for unexpected medical costs. This understanding may help ensure peace of mind and financial stability.

Embrace Technology for Health

It’s never too late to learn new technology, especially when it may help enhance your health. Ask your doctor about wearable devices that monitor vital signs and encourage activity. If it’s difficult to go see your doctor, ask about telehealth options that may let you connect by computer or phone.

Enough Is Enough: Shield Kids

From Sexually Explicit Content

The Supreme Court’s Need To Uphold Critical Common Sense Age Verification Law

This month, on January 15th, 2025, the United States Supreme Court has an historic opportunity to profoundly impact the lives of America’s youth by protecting them from the evils of online sexual exploitation. By upholding Texas’ age verification law in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, 23-50627 (5th Cir. 2024), the Supreme Court can protect the innocence and dignity of countless children.

The multi-billion-dollar pornography industry would have the Court believe that preventing children from accessing sexually explicit content via a simple verification of one’s age would overly burden consenting adults and violate their First Amendment rights. This is the same age old “privacy” argument that was used by the ACLU, the Free Speech Coalition and the American Library Association in the nineties. The Supreme Court, legislators, the media and the public should not be deceived by their dishonest tactics! Obscene content that meets the three prong standard pursuant to Miller v. California, 413 U.S. 15 (1973), is illegal under U.S. federal law and has no protection under the First Amendment. Title 18 U.S.C. Chapter 71 §§1460-1470, prohibits distribution of such obscenity, including via the internet and other digital means.

For over three decades, Enough Is Enough has fought for common sense age verification laws as an effective tool in the fight to protect children from exposure to

both soft-core material (broadcast indecency and harmful to minors content), hard-core prosecutable obscenity and child pornography, and the trauma that results from exposure to such toxic material.

Age verification is still used as an effective shield to protect minor children from pornography in print, television and broadcast. For instance, a consenting adult can buy a Penthouse magazine or rent an X-rated video, but a minor child cannot. Age verification is also required to obtain a driver’s license, buy alcohol and cigarettes, legally vote, and serve in our nation’s military. Certainly, this same standard of care should be applied to protecting our most vulnerable citizensnamely children-which is why, today, we call upon the Supreme Court to uphold Texas’ age verification law and establish a path forward for all states to take similar action.

Yet, for decades, the pornography industry has been given a free pass to distribute obscene content online accessible to anyone, including children, thus profiting from the distribution of this illegal content while knowingly and blatantly breaking federal obscenity laws that have gone largely unenforced since George W. Bush was president. In 1996, Congress enacted the Communications Decency Act (CDA) seeking to regulate obscene and indecent content online. And while, in Reno v. ACLU, 521 U.S. 844

(1997), certain aspects of the CDA were found to infringe upon free speech, the Supreme Court did recognize that “Transmitting obscenity and child pornography, whether via the Internet or other means, is already illegal under federal law for both adults and juveniles.”

Paxton, the Supreme Court has consistently recognized that Congress has a ‘‘compelling government interest’’ to protect the physical and psychological well-being of minors, which includes shielding them from indecent and obscene content.

Since the 90’s, Social Media has exploded onto the scene and the laws on the books need to be updated to protect the millions of American children who are using these platforms. As the world grows increasingly reliant upon a variety of digital devices including cell phones, tablets, and gaming devices, children grow increasingly vulnerable to online risks. Forty-three percent of kids aged 8-12 own a smartphone (57% a tablet) and of kids aged 13-18, 88% own a smartphone (36% a tablet). Ninety-five percent of 13–17-year-olds use Social Media. With this explosion in the use of such devices, evolving social media and app platforms, and expanded public Wi-Fi availability, children and teens have easy, free and unrestricted access to prosecutable obscenity like hard-core, extreme content

depicting graphic sex acts, rape, strangulation, and violence; even material depicting the sexual abuse or rape of a child.

Peer-reviewed research and medical science shows that internet pornography is a fueling factor in the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. Seventy-three percent of teens ages 13 to 17 have watched pornography online— and more than half (54%) reported first seeing pornography by the time they reached the age of 13, Common Sense Media, “Teens and Pornography, 2023. The exposure of children to internet pornography is harming their developing brains. “Pornography consumption is associated with decreased brain volume in the right striatum, decreased left striatum activation, and lower functional connectivity to the prefrontal cortex.” Journal of the American Medical Association Psychiatry – 2014. Despite what the pornography industry says, age verification technologies have improved throughout the years and are effective tools in the fight to protect children from the evils of pornographic online content. To date, 19 states have enacted age verification laws, with potentially more to follow. It is our hope the highest court in the nation upholds the very laws designed to safeguard the precious innocence of our most vulnerable citizens, our children…. America’s future.

For decades, the pornography industry has been given a free pass to distribute obscene content online accessible to anyone, including children

“The Love Your Body Challenge” is about more than just shedding pounds; it promotes self-acceptance and celebrates diversity in all body shapes and sizes,” said David Roddenberry, HealthyWage Co-Founder “It’s also about embracing the weight-loss journey, practicing selfcare and recognizing the strength and beauty within at every stage the process. This challenge aligns with numerous 2024 studies highlighting the importance of body positivity and mental health, including research finding that taking breaks from social media can significantly enhance self-esteem and body image. Other study findings confirmed that exposure to body-positive imagery boosts satisfaction and reduces weight concerns. We embrace these mindsets and practices, which can reduce angst during one’s weight-loss journey and make the experience over much more joyful…not to mention lucrative.”

Upping the Ante with the ‘HealthyWager’

In addition to the group challenge, HealthyWage also offers the HealthyWager Challenge—a customizable weight loss program that allows individuals to set personal weight loss goals and bet on their success—all using parameters they set for themselves. Participants can win up to $10,000 for achieving their targets.

HealthyWage is founded on substantive research and “double-incentivization” methodology that proves competition and rewards—especially the cash variety—can as much as triple the effectiveness of weight loss programs. And, the proof is in the performance in the form of quantifiable and undeniable metrics that behavioral economics-based gamification works when it comes to weight loss.

“Studies continue to show that monetary incentives serve to enhance the effectiveness of, and duly complement, weightloss programs of any and all sorts, especially when paid out quickly like our various programs,” said Roddenberry. “The

average HealthyWager participant more than doubles their investment if they are successful at achieving their goal. The financial upside potential is impressive.” So effective is this diet gamification method, famous personalities have joined HealthyWage in the fight to get America fit including global health and fitness expert Jillian Michaels, as well as actress and talk show host Sherri Shepherd, to name a few.
