Fego’s recent double award win, ensured that we had to cover their latest Summer menu in this months Restaurant Review. Our testers sampled delights including the ‘Full South African Breakfast’ which included grilled boerewers, poached eggs, crispy potato cakes, chakalaka, chutney, toasted sourdough and bacon. It was an absolute tri-nation triumph! The spirit of South Africa was well and truly covered. As well as a new meal option invented by Matt Fielder who is now coining the phrase ‘Bressert’ which is ‘Breakfast Dessert’ if you will! We are sure it will catch on!

And in the fashion stakes, we have an exclusive shoot with Bumbles in Ashtead on pages 90 - 99 showcasing their latest collection of beautiful dresses, kaftans, jumpsuits and accessories. MEGHAN & HARRY SET TO REVEAL MORE SHOCKING ROYAL NEWS

Since officially leaving the Royal Family in 2020, Meghan Markle & Prince Harry, have been the source of a number of shocking revelations about life inside the Windsor household, including the scandalous Oprah Winfrey TV interview, Prince Harry’s tell-all book ‘Spare’ and their Netflix docu-series. According to a Royal insider, Meghan and Harry are about to dish even more dirt on the Royals. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mirror, Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said, “It is unsurprising that King Charles and Prince William no longer trust Harry and Meghan. It also remains the case that although it would be unthinkable for the Sussexes to resume their attacks whilst King Charles and Catherine are seriously ill, there is always the possibility they might in the future. What for example was in the 400 or so pages that Harry claimed he cut from ‘Spare’ and might Meghan Markle finally write her side of the story?”

It is also pondered that Harry and Meghan still have one year left on their contract with Netflix and there has not been any content since 2023’s ‘Invictus’ documentary, which was panned by critics for being tame and selfpublicising. They are due to make one more documentary at least with Netflix, and the more explosive the better, it has been said.

The Royal Family are now supposedly in crisis talks over what Harry & Meghan might do next, especially with Netflix.

Seeing as though they are now financially independent from the Windsor household – the Sussexes need to make big bucks in order to keep up their lavish lifestyle in LA. And the only serious money they have made since 2020 has been from telling-all about the

EAMONN & RUTH SPLIT

Former ‘This Morning’ husband and wife co-presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have separated following 14 years of marriage.

The couple announced their separation officially on social media on Saturday 25th May, much to the publics saddened outcry.

Holmes spoke about the separation briefly on his GB News show on Tuesday 28th May to thank people for their support.

“Just before we move on I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” he said.

The couple met in 1997 and were wed in 2010. They are both currently 64-years-old. No other parties have been named as the reason for their divorce.

It is still unclear why they are separating although Ruth had made previous mentions to Holmes’ ill health of late which has caused him to be confined to a wheelchair in a few of her recent television guest appearances.

DAME JUDI RETIRING AT 89

Surrey-based Dame Judi Dench has revealed that she has no plans for future acting projects after last appearing in the 2022 movie, ‘Spirited’.

The actress, aged 89, has confessed that her degenerative eye condition has left her struggling to see and learning lines has now made acting become “impossible”.

Appearing at the Chelsea Flower Show, the James Bond star, was asked if she has any plans for more acting jobs.

“No, no, I can't even see!” the Oscar winner responded.

Dench was sadly diagnosed with age-related macular eye degeneration in 2012 and while she tried to work as much as she could, she said recently in an interview that she finds any part “difficult to play.”

Judi is still enjoying the good life however and was last seen in Surrey’s Grumpy Mole Oxted restaurant in May enjoying a slap-up meal with her good pal, fellow Brit actor Bill Nighy.

KATIE PRICE ACID ATTACK ON CAR

Former glamour model Katie Price has had her car attacked with acid and now been forced to move out of her ‘mucky mansion’ home following advice from police regarding the recent attack.

Price, aged 46, has had removal trucks turn up to see her belongings moved from her £1.6m Rustington, West Sussex home dubbed ‘mucky mansion’ in her recent reality TV series. This was inevitably going to happen as she was declared bankrupt in March 2024 but the move was fast forwarded to May 28th due to an unprovoked acid attack on her bright pink Range Rover car.

Price shared pictures of her car strewn with acid marks on her social media after she was slapped with a parking ticket after leaving the vehicle overnight in nearby Horsham.

She captioned the images of her car with, “It’s nice to know someone in the night has come to throw acid all over my car, everywhere, all on my car. Thank you whoever that was,” she fumed.

Sources close to mum of five, Price, said she is relocating to a smaller property while on the hunt for a new permanent home with her new boyfriend, ‘Married at First Sight’ contestant JJ Slater.

PANZANELLA (TUSCAN TOMATO & BREAD SALAD)

For big Summer flavour, have a go at this Italian bread and tomato salad recipe from Jamie Oliver’s latest Summer Selection. It’s at its best when the tomatoes are in season and really ripe for maximum juicy flavour. And it’s healthy and takes 45 minutes to create from start to finish. Good on its own or even better as a BBQ accompaniment.

INGREDIENTS

• 200 g stale ciabatta loaf

• 600 g ripe mixed tomatoes, roughly chopped

• sea salt

• freshly ground black pepper

• 1 handful small capers, drained

• 1 small red onion, peeled and very finely sliced

• 280 g jarred red peppers, drained and roughly chopped

• optional: 8 anchovy fillets in oil, drained and finely sliced

• red wine vinegar

• extra virgin olive oil

• a bunch of fresh basil

RECIPE

METHOD:

1. Tear the ciabatta into rough 3cm pieces and place on a tray. Leave aside in a warm place for around 30 minutes – this helps to dry it out.

2. Place the tomatoes in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.

3. Rinse the capers, squeezing out any excess liquid and add to the bowl, along with the onion, peppers,

ciabatta and anchovies, if using.

4. Toss the mixture together with your hands, then stir in 2 tablespoons of vinegar and about 3 times as much extra virgin olive oil.

5. Taste and add a little more salt, pepper, vinegar or oil, if needed.

6. Tear in the basil leaves, stir together and serve. Delicious with barbecued meats or roast chicken.

WINE MATCH

If you’re looking to a pair a wine with this delicious fresh tomato recipe, think crisp, summery wines such as rosé. Rosé means summer, so tomatoes drenched in olive oil and sprinkled with basil are a perfect match. The olive oil softens the tomatoes' acidity. BAD BOYS - RIDE OR DIE

The world's favourite ‘Bad Boys’ are back this month - with their iconic mix of edge-of-your seat action and outrageous comedy, but this time with a twist, Miami's finest are now on the run!

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence take on their respective roles as detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett for this fourth movie outing, now a fully-fledged 30-year-old franchise from Sony Movies. (The original ‘Bad Boys’ movie came out back in 1995!)

This time the duo are embarking on a mission to clear their late police captain from his link to the most dangerous and ruthless drug cartels. And it’s not an easy task.

Set amongst the glamorous backdrop of Miami Beach, the cinematography is stunning and the stunts are really worth a watch with the most unbelievable CGI.

Singer Vanessa Hudgens is set to reprise her role from the third outing ‘Bad Boys: For Life’ as weapons expert Kelly and does a remarkable job. Her acting skills are really second to none. And the chemistry with Will and Martin is great too, like ayoung ‘M’ from bond.

The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith, Chad Ome and directed by Adil El Arbi and Billal Fallal, of ‘Rebel’ and ‘Black’ fame.

‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ will be released in all UK cinemas on 5th June.

CHARLI XCX - BRAT

The English popstar has gone from strength to strength this year, having just performed at US festival Coachella and then she’s taking on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury in June.

Her new album ‘Brat’ collaborates with some of the greatest in the pop/punk/ rave music scene including her latest chart-topping single released called ‘Von Dutch’ which we know is going to be a favourite in the clubs this Summer.

But who is Charli and why the XCX? Her real name is Charlotte Emma Atchison and the XCX stands for Kiss Charli Kiss. She was a raver in her teens which is where the inspiration for her dance music comes from. Feel good electro vibes with a lot of heart and soul thrown in. It’s no wonder Charli, aged 31 now, who has been performing since 14-years-old, has really honed her craft!

Charli XCX first burst onto the music scene back in 2015 with her smash hit ‘Boom. Clap’ which featured on the soundtrack to hit US film, ‘The Fault in Out Stars’ and made it to the number one spot in the UK and the US.

According to Charli ‘Brat’ her sixth studio album is her "most aggressive and confrontational record, but also her most vulnerable.”

We can’t wait to hear the full 15 track album when its released on June 7th. Interestingly enough we have been told it’s exactly 41 minutes and 23 seconds long!

It promises to be banging so it doesn’t really matterif it’s not the longest of albums!

The Surrey Awards 2024 - rewarding the “best of the best” in Surrey - were back with a bang on Friday May 17th at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher with 380 guests in total and 36 Winners & Highly Commended Awards given out on the night.

These Awards (in conjunction with Surrey Rocks Magazine) showcase and celebrate the hard work and excellence of fantastic local businesses, that go above and beyond to make Surrey the best home county there is. It is great to give the recognition back to these businesses that truly deserve it.

Thank you to judges ‘Rise of the Footsoldier’ Actress Rachel Warren, Comedian Bobby Davro, Celebrity journalist & SFW Co-founder Angela Sara West, Ransom lead singer Matt Fielder, Surrey Rocks Editor Sam Matthews & Surrey Awards Co-Founder Joanne Rix, who came up with the 7-strong shortlist in each of the 21 categories. From there - the great Surrey public, all 17,000 of them decided on the eventual Winners & Highly Commended via our secure online voting system on www.rocksmag.com from February 1st to May 3rd 2024.

This year’s Surrey Awards were in aid of two charities; ESDAS (East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services) and The Meeting Room (a Surrey Homelessness Charity). Our hosts for the night were Comedian Bobby Davro and Jackie Radio Presenter Emilie-Kate Owen and performances were by Laura Wright, Wayne Woodward, Agnes Jones, Resolution Dance, Marcus Mee and Ransom.

I was delighted to be invited to the 'Surrey Awards 2024' at Sandown Racecourse on Friday 17th May to pick my 'Top 10' fashion looks. The evening did not disappoint as around 350 guests, from some of Surrey's top businesses, paraded their best attire for this special occasion. A big shout out to everyone who attended the event as it was one glamorous affair. There were so many amazing looks to choose from that I found selecting 10 difficult. However, after some deliberation, here are my Top 10 Stylist Picks of the evening.

Charli XCX, real name

Charlotte Emma Aitchison, is a rarity in the music industry.

Unlike other Brit hopefuls (the beauty was born and lives in Hertfordshire) she cracked the US market well before becoming a force to be reckoned with in the UK.

Charli (the XCX stands for “Kiss Charli Kiss” - her old MSN Messenger username) wrote and sang on the smash electropop hit ‘II Love It’ for the Scandinavian duo Icona Pop. The track sold more than 2.5 million copies in the US and was such a catchy song it became known as “the US soundtrack to the Summer.” She also co-wrote and provided vocals for the Iggy Azalea track, ‘Fancy’ which sold 7 million copies worldwide and became the most streamed track on Spotify in the States at the time.

Americans definitely got Charli XCX first. In 2015, her breakthrough single ‘Boom Clap’ featured on the soundtrack to the US box office film ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ and catapulted her to further superstardom. As a result she toured the US with her own headline show, ‘Girl Power’, and was awarded “Hit Maker of the Year” at the 9th Annual Billboard Women in Music Awards. Not that the Brits and Europeans missed a trick here…they were soon to follow.

Charli then had a few years out partying in Brazil and dating a producer 11 years her senior. It was her time to “grow up” away from the media spotlight she recalls. It wasn’t until after being out of producing, writing and performing that the singer acknowledged her real calling and came straight back to the UK and spent 4 months in the recording studio.

“I realised that I just wanted to be a f¬***ing boss. I decided I didn’t have to choose between being an artist and being a songwriter and just started to do both. I felt ready to go and make songs and not

feel worried about making a cool record or getting a hit. I just wanted to make songs that I really like. “I figured out who I was; it took me ages but was so liberating and amazing. I think it’d be cool for young girls, especially, not to worry about what people think of them and not try to replicate what they think is the right thing to do.”

Despite being only 31 now, Charli XCX has 6 albums under her well styled belt. Charli made her first album aged only 14, back in 2007, with money she was loaned from her parents - which she was quick to dismiss as an “experiment!” To this day, she is slightly annoyed that her early tracks, including the strangely titled ‘I Wanna Be Darth Vadar’ and ‘Dinosaur Sex’ are still easily found online. “I don’t count that as the beginning of my career. But whatever.

Everyone did embarrassing s**t when they were 14. My mistakes are just live online for everyone to hear!” she admits. However, it was exactly this and her hugely successful My Space page which alerted industry music moguls to the young, raw talent. Charli also interestingly used to perform at Warehouse raves in London when she was too young to even have a drink at them! She was briefly signed by Asylum Records in 2010 but Warner Music was the label that catapulted her to success. Her second album and first proper studio album signed as an artist, entitled ‘True Romance’ was released in 2013 and the third, ‘Sucker’ released the following year to critical acclaim. Last year she got critical acclaim for her 6tth studio album ‘Crash’ which featured her lying on a car bonnet covered in blood! It

Charli XCX’s stock was starting to rise at home. She opened for Katy Perry on the European leg of her Prismatic World Tour and later headlined her own UK tour. She also featured alongside R&B artist Tinashe on rapper Ty Dolla Sign’s single ‘Drop That Kitty.’

Other highlights of her career include performing at Coachella in 2023 and she was such a huge success with the crowd, they got her back this year. Last year she got critical acclaim for her 6tth studio album ‘Crash’ which featured her lying on a car bonnet covered in blood on the album artwork. It As well as her edgy new album ‘Brat’ being released on June 7th this May she received a much sought-after ASCAP Global Impact Award which were previously awarded to powerhouse singer and songwriters, including the likes of Lana Del Ray. In the music industry it is at the pinnacle of your career when you are awarded an accolade of this esteem. It’s like winning an Oscar!

Whether you’re a fan of Charli XCX or not she does tick all the boxes! A talented writer, lyricist, singer, dancer, director and she knows the direction she wants to head in. Whilst she was embarrassed about her pop heritage she has now firmly embraced it – and blends a perfect mix of electropop, breathy singing and clever lyrics to provide mass appeal in the US, Europe and the UK.

The Seven Stars Pub in Ripley has undergone a huge interior and exterior makeover and opened its doors to the public on November 28th. When I first visited South Africa, about 7 years ago and went to the Kruger National Park about 9 hours north of Johannesburg (by slow, painful coach drive) I actually managed to see the 'Big Five' all on the first morning's safari (after having being told we'd be lucky to see one or two over the 5 days) after that there was then plenty of time to experience the local cuisine.

Initially the thing that struck me was not just how good the food was but how well the cooking was done. In fact ever since then, whenever I get invited to a large BBQ these days, I always ask first if the person doing the cooking is South African and if the answer is No - I'll say “I'm washing my hair!”

BEST CAFÉ IN SURREY

The continuing success of the now, 'double award-winning' Fego Café in Cobham is therefore of absolutely no surprise to me at all. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a lovely smile from manageress Henrietta and the sun then seems to almost spontaneously come out the minute you sit down. It's a bright, spacious, non-pressured eatery and very friendly.

Indeed on entering, you are immediately hit with a waft of the most unique, intoxicating and aromatic smells seductively enticing and engulfing you that emanate from the clearly visible kitchen quarters at the back. I always like to be able to see my food’s cooked.

My wife and I have come here for a sort of Breakfast/Lunch or Brunch, if you will, and are really struggling to decide what to eat, given that the whole Fego menu is simply irresistible. Eventually my penchant for all things Afrikanse and the belief that it was always breakfast time somewhere in the world,

persuaded me to go for the full South African Breakfast, which comprises of grilled Boerewers (a bit like their version of the Cumberland Sausage) poached eggs, crispy potato cakes, Fego chakalaka (a very tasty vegetable relish) Mrs Balls Chutney (which did pretty much what it said on the jar), toasted sourdough and some added bacon....It was an absolute Tri-nation Triumph!

My wife, Alicia decided to go for what I had last time I had been there which was the wickedly tasty and spicy 'Ranchero' which is another total winner. Consisting of 2 poached eggs, smashed potatoes, chorizo, mushroom (which she gave to me), jalapenos, chili peppers, smashed avocado, crispy onions and relish with peppadew & coriander yoghurt.

We both then opted for a cappuccino as well to accompany it and a glass of water to offset the spice. There is an expression 'eyes bigger than your stomach' but we both felt that a sort of dessert or 'Bressert' if you will, was in order. This came in the form of what I can only describe as an almost, Biblical revelation.

We ordered the brioche French Toast on the recommendation of Henrietta who couldn't wait to tell us all about their exciting new bakery (Bakehouse) which now allows Fego to produce every item of bread we use in our cafes fresh every day! RESTAURANT REVIEW

Fego French toast! This consisted of delicious baker house brioche, vanilla custard, mascarpone cream, roasted pineapple, misa caramel and lime, with the option of adding fruit.... fantastic! All I can say is if you remember the film 'Gone In 60 Seconds' well they might have to remake it as 'Gone in 30 Seconds' for this absolute gem of a textural tonsil treat.

IN SUMMARY

I look at my wife Alicia's smiling face, then gazed around at many other contented people, scattered around a pleasantly not too, crowded café. Some either on zoom calls for work, others with young children all seemingly happy. But the major thing that strikes you the most, is actually how happy the staff all seem to be. It's no act, either as they really do have

a great team and everybody seems totally on board with all that is going on here.

It really makes me happy to see Fego doing so well, they have branches all over Surrey and beyond, the newest being just down the road in Esher and the two awards they have won for Best Cafe, 'back to back' at the Surrey Awards 2023 and 2024 are certainly no fluke. The award-winning café is here to stay.

The Breakfast and Brunch menu is open all day and to be honest you really could quite happily stay there all day too sampling different things from it. Alas we had to go, so waved our reluctant goodbyes as if too long-lost friends and disappeared into the late morning sunshine.

In other news, last month Tranquil Trims, a community of barbers across the UK, united to raise funds for the Uprawr Mental Health Foundation. Believing that a haircut is more than just a haircut, these dedicated professionals committed to donating a day's earnings to support those struggling with mental illness. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from barbers all over the country, each contributing their skills and time for a greater cause.

KNOWING WHICH SEEKING A MEANINGFUL

When singles begin their dating journey many underestimate their worth, but just as many can become delusional about what is actually possible. It can be incredibly challenging, especially if you are new to dating or you have just come out of a long-term relationship, to know where to pitch yourself. Your younger self may have been incredibly popular, but dating eras and climates change and each demographic can have its own challenges when it comes to dating.

STAYING IN YOUR LANE

I’m all for reaching for the stars but expecting the impossible could seriously dent your self-esteem when your expectations are dashed. Better to be realistic about your prospects and stay in your own lane as it will bring you more success. Falling in love is not a competition to find the hottest, wealthiest, fittest person. So many people go about selecting a potential partner as they would a car or a house, it becomes a task all about impressing other people. Whereas it should be a very personal journey to ultimately discover a person that you can live in harmony with and grow and enjoy life together, feeding a new energy between you.

It is a fact that over 80% of men in their 40’s 50’s and 60’s target much younger women, that’s not a healthy statistic and it does not mean that women should just accept that. Five or ten years ago meeting younger women was fairly attainable; however, things have moved on dramatically and with so many women becoming more accomplished, more self-assured and feeling more secure, it has become increasingly more challenging for men to capture the heart of women 10-20 years younger. Most women are seeking men around their own age, especially those still wishing to become mothers. The days of meeting an older man that they are in awe of are nearly over.

Though we are still not there yet, whereas many guys are coming to terms with the fact that they are going to struggle if they do not open their minds more to dating women in the same age range or even older, they are still often unrealistically optimistic. Which is why so many women are put off using dating apps because they are bombarded with completely unsuitable men. Unfortunately, the dating app algorithms have not kicked themselves in touch yet. Meanwhile the longer it goes on, there are going to be so many men and women of 45+ who remain single.

WHICH ROUTE TO GO IN WHEN MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIP

Of course, every so often you come across a kindred spirit and then age is of no consequence, however, targeting around 8 years younger to eight/ten years older is a good age range to consider in general.

SEEKING HELP

With the dating industry still on this massive growth trajectory, singles are always going to be able to find help to boost their own chances of finding lasting love, rather than leaving things to chance. It stands to reason that if you bring more opportunities to the table, the chances of bagging a partner more rapidly will increase. Though it would be delusional to expect guarantees, even throwing large amounts of money at it is not definitely going to secure you a partner, especially if your demands are unrealistic.

If you are someone who would be regarded as particularly picky, if you feel you have a list of ‘must haves’ you would probably be better sticking to dating apps and attending singles events. Though this route requires a huge investment of time as so many dating app profiles are not authentic, it is better to cut to the chase when you identify anyone with potential and arrange an IRL meeting. If they are unavailable or ghost you then you know they are not likely to be genuine in their pursuit, so move on rapidly.

HOW WERE THE SURREY AWARDS FOR YOU?

I had a fabulous time. The vibe in the room was electric, powered by all of the passion and hard work that goes into all of the businesses’ nominated. The joy when each of the winners were announced was just wonderful to witness.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR GORGEOUS SEQUIN DRESS?

With some advice from Surrey Frills, I went to Monice London and met the lovely founder Janice who styled me in her Mimi dress, an iridescent asymmetrical bodycon dress – I felt great in it, and she went on to win best designer that night.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH BOBBY DAVRO?

I’ve known Bobby for a while and was one of his support acts last year with Whole Lotta Comedy. He’s such a warm, family orientated man, and such a talent - I love him.

AND IT’S SUCH A COUP TO BE GIVEN THE BREAKFAST RADIO SLOT AT JACKIE RADIO, HOW DID YOU GET INTO PRESENTING?

I’ve been a performer since I graduated from drama school in 2003. I worked as an actress for well over 13 years in theatre, TV, film and radio with presenting stints on Raiders FM and more recently my own show on Surrey Hills Radio. I applied to Radio Jackie last year and was delighted to join the Breakfast show as Neil Long’s cohost.

Emilie Kate Owen is the breakfast radio presenter for Jackie Radio, a comedian and was our ever so glamorous co-host for the Surrey Awards 2024 on May 17th at Sandown Park Racecourse, alongside Bobby Davro. We got to catch up with Emilie-Kate about her amazing radio career, her recent awards hosting stint and her latest foray into comedy.

YOUR SHOWS WITH NEIL LONG ARE ALWAYS SO ENTERTAINING, DID YOU ALWAYS HAVE THIS NATURAL ON-AIR CHEMISTRY?

Thank you, I think because we are both comedians as well as being close friends the partnership really works. We trust each other implicitly,

can read when the other one has a good punchline to deliver, and I think that makes for an authentic and funny show.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A RADIO PRESENTER?

I completely adore radio, I’ve

listened to it every day of my life and think no matter what is happening in the world, radio is always there alongside you. It’s a huge privilege to be the person creating that inimitable intimacy that you get between the presenter and the listener, an intimacy that you just don’t get with TV or theatre. I also love that I get sent to all sorts of events and shows so that I can talk about them on air – I feel extremely lucky to get to experience so much of London this way.

WHAT IS THE WORST WOULD YOU SAY?

Ha, very little because I love it so much but I suppose the early starts aren’t always easy, especially when it’s the depths of winter and I’ve been up late at a show or a gig the night before.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST ON-AIR FAUX PAS?!

We make lots of innuendos that we manage to get away with, but we recently cracked an old school joke about the Pope and had an indignant listener ring the studio to tell us off - which was quite funny. It’s impossible to please everyone so we have to just do what we think is entertaining and of course, appropriate for Breakfast radio.

YOU HAVE RECENTLY VENTURED INTO COMEDY, WHERE CAN WE CATCH YOU THIS SUMMER?

This summer I’ve gigs booked with Pink Peach, The Other Side, Flamingo, Downstairs at the Kings Head, and I’m MCing for Whole Lotta Comedy in Tunbridge Wells, Surbiton and Windsor.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU WHEN WRITING COMEDY?

My comedy is quite similar to my presenting style, based on funny things that happen in day to day life, I don’t have any gimmicks, it’s all very natural, just laughing at myself and the lunacy that is everyday life.

IF YOU ONLY HAD TO TAKE 3 THINGS TO A DESERT ISLAND, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

Naturally I’d take a radio, as well as the Deliveroo app (because I love

food so much) and my yoga mat because on a desert island I really wouldn’t have any excuses.

WHO WOULD BE YOUR IDEAL CELEBRITY DINNER PARTY GUESTS?

Neil of course, he’s hilarious, kind and excellent company.

BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

The best advice, which took me years to implement is to remember that you are the master of your own life. Only joke about what you think is funny, only dress the way that makes you feel good, only spend time doing what you want to do. It’s the only way to be happy.

MOST EMBARRASSING ITEM IN YOUR WARDROBE?

I’m terrible for having so many good intentions and not sticking to them. Perhaps my trapeze leotard? Or my snowboarding salopettes? Or my way-too-small bikini?!

WHAT ALL THE MEN WANT TO KNOW, ARE YOU SINGLE?

Ha, yes. I’ve been single for nearly five years now, since my divorce. It would be nice to meet someone but I’m not in any hurry.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE GROWING UP?

Always a performer. I was that kid

that made all the adults watch my tedious ‘plays’ in the sitting room. I’m lucky that I’ve been able to make my dream my career.

WHAT ARE YOUR BEST CHARACTER TRAITS?

I’m too British for this question! I know that I’m very grateful for all the wonderful people in my life, especially my family. And that I’m pretty cheery, that 7am bounciness isn’t an act!

AND YOUR WORST HABITS?

Now this is a much easier one to answer! I over-book myself, I’m disorganised, easily distracted, forgetful … what was the question again?

IF YOU WERE AN ANIMAL WHAT WOULD YOU BE?

A Labrador I think. An enthusiastic people pleaser who will do anything for food.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT SURREY?

I love living in Surrey so much, I’ll never live anywhere else. For me it’s three things; the proximity to the greatest city in the world, the warm, kind people and the green, green rolling hills. It’s magical.

AND THE WORST?

Errr, possibly the cyclists…. *Immediately runs and hides*

So what's in this games room.

Well there's two pool tables, an interactive darts board, Table curling, Slingshot, Table football, Pinball, computer games ..Two large screen TV's and heaps of fun for everyone.. Naturally there's an optional bar, which can be utilized with your own waitress for special events.

The room itself can be hired for up to 20 people over the age of 11 at £10 a head for an hour and then £5 an hour per head for any additional hour thereafter . Kate Staples has dedicated her life to health, fitness, and sports, leaving a lasting impact in each realm she ventures into. A British record holder in pole vaulting, having shattered 42 British records, and also a trailblazer for women in the sport, contributing to its inclusion in the Olympics. As 'Zodiac' on the hit TV show Gladiators she captivated millions of viewers every Saturday for six seasons, showcasing her strength and charisma on a grand stage.

Despite facing a life changing injury when a 40ft training session fall on Gladiators left her with a double neck break, Kate Staples refused to be defeated. Following 12 hours surgery, she made a conscious decision to turn her adversity into inspiration for others, stating, "I was determined not to feel sorry for myself and to put my experiences to good use and inspire others."

Fifteen years ago, she joined forces with Olympic legend Daley Thompson to motivate and energise clients to get fit through bootcamps and overseas training holidays, providing a platform for adults to improve their health and overall well-being.
