Miles wins Chelsea Flower Show award Miles and Ann Hayward, from Storrington based horticulturalist Miles Japanese Maples, have won a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower Show for their educational display (known as a Lindley display) about growing Acers (maples) from seed.

New Rotary film night season

The Rotary Club of Storrington & Pulborough District, are pleased to announce that the New Season of the popular Film Nights will recommence on September 13th with “A Man Called Otto”, starring Tom Hanks. The showing commences at 7.30pm, at Sullington Hall, Thakeham Road, RH20 3PP. In October the film will be “Allelujah”, starring Jennifer Saunders, Derek Jacobi, and Judi Dench. Tickets are £5, and are available from the Card Shop in Storrington. Any unsold tickets will be available on the door, on the night. The working parties have been clearing invasive Himalayan Balsam at West Sussex Golf Club. A different kind of activity is on 19th August at 10am for hay raking and tree weeding at Dyke Farm in West Chiltington, followed by a picnic by the lake at noon - please bring something to sit on and eat, tea/coffee and cake provided!
