Functional Planning
Detached from security.
Each individual prison cell need not be individually isolated, can have a few interactions.
Well connected from security, radiating from security.
Isolation from external world, but still experiencing isolation to an extent within the prison cells.
Propagating the feeling of being punished, imprisoned, through isolation from the external world.

SEGMENTED OPENINGS
The use of levels is once again employed to visually connect, but spatially isolate functional units.
Segmented openings combined with seethrough enclosures are used to further contain the prisoners in their cells.

LEVELS - ENCLOSURE - SEGMENTED OPENINGS
The minor isolation required between each prisoner is achieved here through levels – visual connection and spatial isolation.
The radial layout inspired by the Panopticon ensures security through visual connection. The segmented openings mimic the function of vertical bars in a prison.
It offers visual connectivity to remind prisoners of being punished and unable to exist in the outside world. The see –through enclosures have been employed for the same reason.
side world. Here it is a case of moderate isolation, as the prison must isolate its people from the external world but may have internal interaction.
