HEY KEY-UTIES!

October was the best month I’ve had in 2022, and a large part of that is due to RTC. Whether you attended the Regional Training Conference or not, I genuinely appreciate everyone’s hard work this month with being present at our meetings, participating in ice breakers, partaking in service activities, practicing cheers, and making spirit gear. It all paid off in the end as we took home our division spirit stick and had so much fun! We truly could not have has such a great month without your support and energy. Thank you for everything! Once again, as a reminder, the 40 hour service requirement is due at the end of April 2023, so please make sure you check out our service center in our LinkTree for amazing opportunities to fulfill that requirement. It includes various in-person as well as remote opportunities. Stay safe coyotes, mahal key-ta! -

“I had a fun time making the stickers with my friends. It was also cool to see all the creative ideas people around me had. Overall, I had fun making these stickers and seeing what other people made.”

- Kainalu Ceniza (co ‘25)

“It was fun doing these fall/halloween pictures. I haven’t done a lot of coloring or cutting in a while, and i enjoyed it. I thought it was funny to draw these ideas because it was a fun topic. I had a funny experience doing these drawing and getting the hours from these pictures.”

- Reynan Garcia (co ‘25)

“It wasn’t much but for this experience it was just cutting out drawings we made. I made all 8 of my drawings of different sketches of ghosts to celebrate the halloween spirit. Artistically, I think it was overall good, and the club meeting today was fun. “

- Tristan Caval (co ‘24)

“It was pretty fun! I get to color, draw, and decorate how I want the stickers to look like. It was a very relaxing activity for me. I enjoyed it!”

- Ziying Chen (co ‘26)

“I had so much fun at this event! Each of my fellow board members and I purchased at least one pie to pie our president in the face with. At the end, we combined our leftovers onto a single plate so that our advisor could pie her as well. Overall, this is a great memory of mine.”

This month’s division council meeting was held at Sierra Vista HS on October 19th, 2022. Attendees learned FRS cheers, participated in the PIE-TP pie in the face fundraiser, and recognized certain d28S members, including SWCTA Key Club’s bulletin editor, Aanja Abilar, for officer of the month!

Board members & advisor, Mrs. Guichard, pie our president Rochelle for the PIE-TP service challenge!

“The meeting not only a fun way to get everyone attending RTC to make spirit gear, but a good way for people who haven’t interacted much before talking to each other. Me and my friends had a good time making the tutus, and putting them on.”

“Prepping for RTC & making spirit gear was a really fun experience. Doing it with my fellow board members & general members was a great bonding time. Though making the tutu was really tedious, I still had fun making it. It got me really hyped for RTC.”

“I never knew how to make flags before this. I completely just stuck on ribbon until it looked good and honestly, I found this activity pretty fun.I’m glad to be of contribution to RTC prep”

“On October 29th, 2022 at Green Valley HS, Southwest CTA Coyotes attended the Region 5 Regional Training Conference. Members attended various workshops on leadership, spirit, service, etc., as well as competed in the division and region spirit session where cheers were performed, ending the night with a dance party. Everyone’s hard work over the past few weeks leading up to the event with practicing cheers and preparing paid off in the end because we took home the Division 28 South spirit stick and made it to the regional spirit session finals! RTC is definitely a core memory for me, and various members have told me they felt the same way. Although the event lasted 12 whole hours, it all went by so fast and felt so surreal. It made me so happy to see everyone have a good time and even break out of their shell. The highlight of the event for me was winning the division spirit stick. When they announced that we had won, we all started jumping up and down with excitement and joy. It was such an emotional moment for all of us. I am so thankful that I got to experience something like this, especially with the people I care about. It allowed me to grow closer to the members, as well as meet new people. I will never forget this day.”
