“My high school journey would not be the same without my Key leader journey. From stepping out of my comfort zone Freshman year becoming Bulletin Editor, it has only allowed me to take upon positions that would heighten my work ethic & a leader in Key Club. My presidency term has truly taught me so many life lesions that I wouldn’t have thought to cross my mind. Overall, it greatly placed the value of “With passion comes drive”. In this club, I’ve always felt a homely and welcoming environment, which is why I continued to work alongside the most hardworking & amazing board members. These people have helped me grow exponentially, they have the best ideas & best mindsets. It’s an irreplaceable experiences that helps you grow in all areas of life. For the next incoming President, I am here for you every step of the way & I’m ultimately proud of you for all of your accomplishments that brought you thus far & for many to come.”

“At the start of my term, I remember still being shy to everyone, and not talking unless someone approached me first. However, as time went on, the more I came out of my shell, and wanted to talk to everyone whenever I can. Through my position, and being on board, it definitely helped shape me into the person I am today. It is simply a life changing experience that I never regret. To my successor, I wish you the absolute best of luck. I won’t lie, I have faced some hardships through my term, but do not let that fear you. Remember that you have an amazing board who will help you with anything, no matter what the problem may be. And lastly, to the club, I once again wish you the best of luck. I know that you all will be in great hands, not matter who gets what position. I am beyond excited to see you all grow, and to see what’s in store for the next term!”

“When I was younger, I always dreamed about the perfect high school life where I knew I belonged and had a community I knew I could rely on-- Key Club became that place for me. Being on board was the best decision I ever decided to make. Not only did I get to learn about our members on a deeper level, but I met some of my best friends. I am the person I am today because of my board. Every person on board has shown me how beautiful life can be, and for that, I am forever grateful. To my successor, do not let people tell you that just because your VP of Spirit you always have to be spirited. Your job is to motivate people, not to be perfect. Embrace your imperfections as a person, and people will be more drawn to you. Whoever you are, I’m so proud of who you are now and the person you are about to become.”

“I truly cannot imagine what my life would be life had I not run for office. Being a Key Club board member has been a life changing experience. It has given countless opportunities, memories that I will forever cherish, life lessons, and some of my best friends. At the beginning of the term, I was very shy and I remember being absolutely terrified going my very first board meeting as the only person I knew was my sister. Today, however, I’ve formed bonds and have grown closer to each board member. They have helped tremendously to break out of my shell and I thank them for allowing me to move into the next term with self-confidence, showing my true self to the members. To my next successor, I hope you enjoy your position to the fullest. I know that the deadlines, workload, and the fact that you are displaying your design skills to the whole club can be intimidated-- I have been there before -but just know that you have a whole board to support you every step of the way. My bulletin editor duties have rarely felt like work for me, but more so a fun creative outlet, so I hope you find joy in this position as well. I am excited for what the next term has in store for all of us and I can’t wait to continue growing with you all.”

“Sometimes during meetings or when I'm talking to the friends I’ve made in Key Club, the realization hits me that I’m graduating soon, and the only regret I have concerning Key Club is that I wasn’t this passionate sooner. In my previous years as a general member I was just trying to get by and spice up my resume but ever since I joined board, Key Club has become more than a club for me. It's become a place where I feel like I truly belong, as cheesy as it sounds, I can be loud and passionate and the people around me appreciate those aspects of me. This club makes me feel seen. To my successor, I hope Key Club can be that place of comfort for you too. I also hope you can provide that comfort for others. I'm not quite sure who will take this position but I trust that senior rep will be in good hands. As senior rep you’ll be expected to guide your class but if you find you’re the one who needs guiding, I'll always be here to help. Take pride in what you’ll do, that’s what Key Club’s about.”

COYOTE CHRONICLES | JANUARY 2023 PAGE 13

“Key Club has always been extremely close to my heart and It has always been a community that I loved to interact with. With all the people that I have come across, it always began to feel like a FAMILY. From being a freshman to now a senior, I have grown to love the atmosphere, mission, and environment that Key Club has served me. By being on board, Key Club has allowed me to work on my leadership skills and characteristics in a place of comfort with people that push me out of my self made, ideological, boundaries, but still also made schoolwork a priority. Through these experiences, I was able to strengthen my communication, collaboration, and cooperation skills by working with several people. To the next saa, have fun, build those friendships, create new memories, and make your last year of key club the best it can ever be!”

COYOTE CHRONICLES | JANUARY 2023 PAGE 14

“Being on board, especially as someone who's been a part of Key Club all four years is honestly so exciting. I loved growing with the club and seeing all the board members grow into these strong individuals who were so good at what they did. Even though the saa's don't do much, being able to assist here and there and being able to see all the moving parts come together and know you're a part of it is kind of crazy. To whoever has this position next, have fun. It's your senior year, so enjoy it to its fullest :D”

“In life, the smallest decisions could lead to the most impactful outcomes. For me, this decision was joining Key Club. From becoming a board member in my Freshman year, I practically grew up with these phenomenal people, and it has been the most rewarding experience in my life. Seeing so many members show up to our meetings as the board is working hard to encourage each other has ultimately motivated me to become the best person I can be for both myself and all of the Key Club members. To the next Secretary: work extremely hard, but also savor these moments because they do not last forever. I will be there for you. Or not, depending on if you ask nicely.”

COYOTE CHRONICLES | JANUARY 2023 PAGE 16

“Walking into keyclub not knowing what I'd be getting myself into was one of the best choices I've ever made. I was unaware of how much running for a position on board my freshmen year would change my life. Being the youngest on board at first was awkward to me, I felt like I didn’t fit in with the rest, but my fellow board members made me feel otherwise. These people have helped me grow so drastically and have helped me to push myself harder. Because of this I was taught so many life lessons that I know will be helpful to me in the future. Being a board member in keyclub automatically gives you a family and space where you can feel safe. Key Club has given me a second home and another family. Speaking from a little bit of experience, being a board member is truly exciting and very fun. I love being able to grow within the club and with my members. It has allowed me to gain and possess many traits to help me progress through life, like responsibility, leadership, and it’s helped me build a better mentality and step out of my comfort zone. This position has truly shaped me into the person I am today. To my next successor, I promise you, you will not regret your decision and go have fun! Make new friends, go talk to new people, and take that step out of your comfort zone! I hope you are able to find those people within the club that you can call family. I know this position will be in good hands and I'm proud of you and the person you are about to become.”

North Western Mutual | Annie Lin | 12 | "I worked from 6 am to 3-4ish pm wiping down every surface and office, refilling the machines for snacks and drinks, organizing the cubicles, dusting and filing paperwork for North Western Mutual. This volunteer experience has gave me an insight on how the people in the office work and how important it is to keep the place clean since COVID is still around. Since a lot of people in the office were getting sick, is was important for me to make sure everything was wiped down and recleaned to prevent the spread of germs."

Fire truck Toy Drive by the Nevada Burn Foundation | Dominick Fraser | 9 | "It was a very fun experience receiving all they toys from kind people who bought them in store. We got to talk with them, and give our thanks plus a lot of toys were given. A few carts full. It was also really fun meeting all of my mom's firemen coworkers. It was a nice break from everything and might do again next week."

Sahara & Robert E. Elementary School | Kailie, Sicolo | 10 | "Sahara sponsors an elementary school, Robert E. Lake, that resides in a poorer part of town. They decided to fund the program the school does every year where they give presents to all the students. Since my mom works at Sahara. I had the opportunity to help. We bought, wrapped, and gave out the presents for these kids. In all it was a very rewarding experience and I was glad to give those kids the Christmas that my parents have always been able to provide for me."

With Love for Vegas Toy Drive | Anastaysia, Dobrovolskyi | 10 | "It’s important during the holidays to give to others in need. I got to help kids and families throughout the county enjoy their Christmas just by giving them a gift and seeing the smile on their faces. Im happy I could donate toys to kids to make their holiday season a bit happier."
