Fordington Gin: A great gin for great people

Sustainability award sponsor Karen Bailey of Willow Tree Life tells us about her journey to this point in her life and business, and how she can help you find peace and clarity

#SWIBTRIBE | ISSUE 322 I am a single mother with four gorgeous children, aged 15-25, and a beautiful granddaughter aged 5. I’ve had the pleasure of bringing up these wonderful human beings on my own for the last 13 years. At times it’s not been easy – such as being told you’re not good enough and getting beaten up on a daily basis because your autistic son doesn’t know how to control his emotions!

I had to leave my job, which I loved, but never gave up on my dreams. I built my own business as a beauty and holistic therapist, and later qualified as a Reiki Master. This changed my life for the better, helping me let go of the guilt and the anger; I taught myself to love me again, for who I truly am inside.

Now I’m known as ‘Willow Tree Life’, which is all about YOU and how you can live the life you truly desire by being your true authentic self. This is achieved through love, gratitude and letting go of what no longer

serves you – realising the greatness that’s been inside you since you were created.

Everything we feel and do relates to our wellbeing and directly

affects our actions and emotions. I can help people reduce stress, pain and anxiety; help increase your confidence, self-esteem and smile; achieve your full potential; and live life with

passion and purpose. My aim is to make you feel uplifted, empowered and validated, and realise on a daily basis that you are enough. Sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves trying to be like the person next to us, always comparing ourselves to others, when we should be focusing on the only one that matters. Who do you think that is?

I offer a variety of treatments in a relaxed atmosphere on a one-to-one basis, to both men and women, where you won’t be disturbed. I use all the techniques I’ve learned on my journey to help you heal, along with some tools such as crystals, incense and sound bowls. I also use my psychic energy and connect with spirits if they have a message for you. After your session I finish off with a card reading, which gives you clarity. You will leave feeling good, with a revitalised flow of your natural energy.

About Karen Bailey As a single mother with four children, aged between 15 and 25, and a beautiful granddaughter aged 5, Karen is a beauty and holistic therapist offering a variety of treatments in a relaxed atmosphere on a oneto-one basis. Karen is also a certified Ecobrick trainer, educating people how to reduce, reuse and recycle their single-use plastics. Often when people go on this journey with me they come at a time in their life when they have nowhere to turn. As they go through the healing process, they’re like a snake who leaves behind its old skin and bares the new.

As a therapist, I often then get asked for help on how I can improve their appearance, which is where my beauty-therapy skills come into play. At this point I also have the opportunity to introduce them to some other Successful Women in Business network members who can help with other aspects, like their image, to my own fitness and nutrition coach.

I also run a Live Laugh Live Ladies club, which focuses on bringing women together by connecting them socially. Some may be widowed, have few friends or are lonely and want to get out and have fun, all while enjoying a nice meal and being educated at the same time! This is a chance for them to meet like-minded women and make new friends.

Willow Tree Life is also now focusing on helping heal the planet too. As a certified Ecobrick trainer, I educate people on how to reduce, reuse and recycle their singleuse plastic. I organise workshops within the community and I am looking to support businesses to help them understand what they can do to help reduce their usage in the work place.
