Collar Bull Sale
It is as always a pleasure to work with the Blue Collar group. The efforts put forth each year in breeding the cattle as a group to optimize the balance of economically relevant traits for the commercial producer is evident. The quest for the genetics you select for today will be felt in your herd for years to come. Whether your goals are to fine tune the maternal side of your herd or keeping those steers stretchy to appeal to the buyers in the front row of the auction mart is an important decision. The decisions today will impact your bottom line and with the inventory of all classes of cattle at an all time low only feeds the demand we are seeing. We are a year and a half away from seeing any retentions in the heifer calves. Bottom line exciting times ahead, position yourself properly and hang on for the ride.
Any questions regarding the offering of the top end bulls feel welcome to give a call!
See you sale day!

CALVING BOOK ADVERTISER
Cornerstone Credit Union
Welcome to the 17th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale. The Blue Collar group hopes that all is well with you and your family. WOW! We have had quite a winter in our part of the world. December was super ignorant here. It was a month that made us think that we could run out of straw with cold weather and lots of snow. Moisture is always good and our snow covering is very nice.
We live in an interesting world these days. It appears getting back to “normal”, is taking its sweet time. Supply chain issues are really starting to p!$s people off, prices of iron and such are not dropping back, worker shortages unbelievably continue, there’s war in Ukraine….but for us folks on the farm, while we are impacted by these issues, we have to simply charge on. We do what we need to with each and every season and cycle in our lives. Calving, breeding, fencing, seeding, haying, harvest, weaning, repeat. It’s the lifestyle is why we do this. If we just treat what we do in agriculture as a business and not a lifestyle I believe we would be out of business.
Reports are that the cow herd has been reduced significantly. There are many ranchers who have had enough. However, I think this type of cycle has happened before. Grass ripped up, fences taken down and land turned to grain land. When things turn around and folks realize that “grain land” is not profitable and then the grass goes back in, fences go back up and cows go back in. It appears the forecast is for calf, cow, feeder…prices are on the upswing. These prices are needed for us cattle folk to survive and make a living in this wonderful lifestyle.
The Blue Collar bull Sale group continues to work hard to provide producers with the best possible bulls we can to help improve your bottom line and enhance your ranching lifestyle with respectable birth weights, strong performance and highly maternal sires.
Throughout the catalogue you will find an entire host of information to aid you in your bull or heifer selection. There are footnotes, pictures, pedigrees, weights, sire and dam information… Please feel free to contact any one of us for more information or stop by our farms to view the bulls prior to the sale.
The Blue Collar Bull Sale Group would like to thank the following for their contribution to the success of our sale:
-Everyone who attended last year’s sale, our bidders and buyers.
-All our friends and family who helped us before, during and after the sale.
-All our advertisers-We do business with all of them and recommend you give them a try, too.
-To Castlerock Marketing, Hugh Elliot, Levi Hull and the Heartland Staff’s and all our friends for their work on our sale. We believe that we have a solid and supportive team who can work to make sure that you are well taken care of and your livestock needs are met. Please contact any member of the Blue Collar Group or the sales staff with any questions to help you select the animals to meet your needs.
Once again, we are going to start our sale with pens of commercial heifers. The Minhinnick’s, Davis’s and Hansen’s bring you quality females. Many of these heifers come from bulls that have been purchased from the Bull Collar consignors. Look to increase the productivity of your cow herd with these quality genetics.
We would like to again welcome, Irving Angus-John and Keri Irving and Family, as guest consignors of 8 wonderful yearling Angus heifers. The Irving’s present to you sound, deep bodied and eye appealing females. These heifers are located at Northern View Angus for presale viewing.
We would also like to make you aware that Trustmark Agencies from Melville, will be on hand sale day to assist you with the insurance of your purchases. As breeders we will support you, the buyer, in every way we can to ensure our cattle work. However, there are unforeseen events which occur, like illness, injury, or death, which the buyer and seller cannot control or guarantee. For situations like this there is insurance. We strongly recommend you insure all your livestock purchases but want you to ensure any cattle which will be going home to our respective farms for a while. Please refer to back of catalogue for all sale conditions.
We take pride in the fact that we have an increased number of repeat customers. Please refer to the list of last years Blue Collar purchasers at the back of the catalogue. We truly enjoy the connections and socialization which is involved with our customers and the cattle business. We would like to invite you to give us a call or drop by our farms for a visit any time.
Consider this your invitation to come to Heartland in Yorkton on Thursday, April 6th from 3PM-7PM and Friday, April 7th from 9AM to 7PM for a viewing of the cattle and fellowship. On Sale Day, Saturday, April 8th cattle can be viewed beginning at 10 am. We will be having a lunch on sale day from 11 am to sale time.
See you at the Sale, Blue Collar Sale Group
Northern View Angus
We hope that life is treating you well, your feed stacks are plentiful, and herd is healthy. The world outside of our little ole farm is an interesting one to say the least. Everything from world markets, world peace, natural disasters, climate change…seem to be in the news. We can all have opinions on any topic and have suspicions about world conspiracies, climate change bunk, political puppets…but one really needs to focus on what we as individuals have control of and can change. One can listen to the pessimists say the cow herd is shrinking, cattle will become obsolete, bulls will not be needed….It is this little ole hayseeds opinion that we are on the verge of something great in the cattle business. People need to eat. Beef is tremendous protein. Current and future prices are taking off and things are gonna get real good. Now is the time to ensure you have the best cattle possible to maximize this opportunity with best genetic you can grab a hold of.
We are retaining a 1/3 semen interest in all our bulls unless otherwise stated. This does not impact you owning the bull, the rights to walk the bull or the salvage value on the bull. All it means that if at some point we would like to draw semen for in herd use we would arrange at your convenience and our expense to do so.
The best cows and bulls we can raise, or purchase are the key to longevity and survival in the cattle business. Cows that will lay down and have a calf, get up, nearly lick the hair off the calf and ensure that calf has nursed, are essential here. It is important that these cows are complete manageable before and after calving. Once these cows have calved, they must raise a productive, sound and highly functional animal that can be used as a replacement heifer, breeding bull or, at the end of the day, sell well at the market. You will note that I mention our cows in the footnotes of the bulls. We have been and continue to work on our cow herds development. We need great cows to do the job we want. Cows that are just good enough are not good enough. We strive to have cows that are beyond simply good enough.
We also, strive to utilize the best bulls we can find via AI or with walking bulls. When I select bulls to use, we need adequate scrotal development, calving ease, strong phenotype, ample growth and strong maternal qualities. It is my belief that failing to plan is planning to fail. Consequently, our breeding program is carefully thought out and researched. Mating’s are thoroughly explored, analyzed, and planned. Consequently, we hope to produce top quality seedstock.
This year we have Scheifelbein Attractive, Mogck Entice, SAV Rainfall, SAV Renovation, High Point Cache, are AI Sires tried and true here. Some new AI sires we used which we are really excited about are DL Rainmaker, Crawford Guarantee and KG Justified. Our walking bulls do not hold a back seat to any sire and are headlined by Northern View Super Duty 89F, CorVet Milk Dude 21E and Northern View Enigma 76H.
We have really worked on not pushing our bulls. Feeding them a ration of 1% of their body weight in grain/supplement and the balance of their ration with brome, timothy, orchard grass and intermediate wheat grass hay. The hay is of excellent quality this year. We monitor the feed intake of our bulls to ensure no overfeeding and to promote a sound growing bull that will work for you for the long term. We target a growth rate of 3lbs average daily gain. They have free choice lick tubs or loose mineral to promote scrotal development, semen quality and structural soundness. The bulls are raised in large pens and/or pasture areas to allow for ample room to wander, rumble and explore.
I have catalogued our bulls in sire groups and for the most part in numerical order of when they were born within that group. The oldest bull is first, and the youngest bull is last of that sire group. Quality is strong from lots 1-30.
See you soon!

NORTHERN VIEW SUPER DUTY 89F
You know how when you run into someone, and they can’t stop talking about their favorite child and all their accomplishments. Well, this is kinda that same deal here. LOL!
Every once in a while, a person does something right. In this case, we AI’d 99Z to Cutting Edge and retained an ownership in Super Duty 89F, aka Neil.
We have used Neil for 4 years now, drawn semen on him and retained many daughters and used two sons from him. His daughters are nothing short of spectacular. We have 50% of our replacement pen as direct daughters from him.
Folks who have seen Neil once or over the course of a few years have had these things to say about him in the past 12 months.
“He is the best breeding bull I have ever seen.” My reply, “Wow! Thank you.:”
“You need to use more of that bull.” My reply, “We are breeding 45/120 females to him.” His reply,”YOU NEED TO USE HIM MORE.”
When we drew semen on him and had him on cement for the first time the comment was, “He has perfect feet.” My reply, “Hmmm they do look very good.”
Each spring Neil gets put with approximately 45 cows for beginning of January calving while we strive to AI the rest of the cows. It is really a no brainer to use him this much as he fixes up issues cows may have. We have cows that have their absolute best calf from Neil. His progeny are born as calving ease and are, as Amy says, “The smartest and most vigorous calves we have ever had.” Rest assured we will have 40 plus females with 89F right off the hop again this year.
Neil is deep, powerful and has an excellent and large foot. When he is the pasture, he moves like a cat but is also kitten quiet.
Great cows have great bulls. Princess 99Z is an elite CAA elite dam. We retain her daughters and love what they do here.
Neil’s progeny has been well received at the Blue Collar and heifer consignment sales we have been involved in. Last year his bulls captured a lot of attention with Super Duty 125J being the high seller to East Point Cattle Co. Melville Sk.
You have a great selection of Super Duty’s to appraise as 1/3 of our offering are from Neil. Not to mention his grand sons in the sale too. This largest sire group average daily gain was 3.27lbs per day. Fantastic as we target 3lbs a day and try to grow the bulls slow to last. These bulls’ standout on their own but when they are backed by this sire you can have a lot of confidence in them.

“That guy is a tank, WOW!” It is always great when someone sees what you see. Helps with your confidence sometimes. Super Duty 46K-aka Eddie is best described as extremely complete. When I stand in front of this guy and look over his top, I can’t help but admire his broad and smooth made design. He has a masculine and attractive head. When you move down to his front feet he is awesome. Then when I stand behind him his has a wide base, great hip and quarter and an ample scrotal development. Now you add in low birth weight numbers coupled with 3.54lbs per day of gain he becomes more desirable. To complete the bull, you have a double dose of the great Princess cow family. Princess 86G is a lifer here. Her first calf was a rainfall daughter. She is currently a bred here and looks stunning. The grandmother to Eddie is the dam of lot 24. Every daughter from Princess 95X has been retained in our herd. Consider keeping each and every daughter from this guy. This herd bull prospect is extremely quiet and halter broke. With a 72lb birth weight and 0.4 birth epd this bull comes recommended for heifers.

Meet Barry. He is one of the most inquisitive calves we ever had. He was always climbing on something, into something or out of something. Suffice it to say Barry is pest like quiet and is also halter broke. This bull has always appealed to me as a bull with wonderful hip, loin, quarter and gut. He is a very complete bull that will add shape and style to his calves. Barry is out of a young Renovation/Belle daughter. Belles have been very good for us. Barry is a well balance bull when you analyse his pedigree, his numbers and his actual physical make up and disposition.

In the fall of 2020, we managed to pick enough bottles and find enough couch change to try to get into the game to purchase a top end bred. Our search led us to our friends at J Square S. We loved Ruth 906G. She stemmed from our program, as Jordan purchased and flushed Ruth 82Z from us. Footnotes on Ruth 84S can write themselves. This old girl has been flushed, she is having her 17th calf here this spring. Yes, you read correctly, at 17 she is expected to calve at the beginning of March. Ruth 84S has 6 daughters, oodles of granddaughters and a son working here. Ruth’s rarely leave the farm. 84S has an unbelievable foot on her and is extremely athletic. She always keeps up to the young cows in the herd. It should be noted that there are two CAA elite dams in his pedigree-Ruth 84S and Princess 99Z. Now in Super Duty 63K pedigree you toss in some SAV Density and you have a highly maternal sire in the making. On his own, 63K is a stout, shapely and sound bull. This February born stallion should produce shapely marketable males and numerous replacement females. He is moderate in his birth weight but strong in his growth. A maternal brother sold to Trevor Protz of Yorkton, Sk. In 2022.

Very angular, feminine yet powerful cow. Kinda the perfect size for most folks. Lucy 144F’s J bull was one we used as a clean up bull ourselves. We are expecting a handful of calves from him. Heifer bull with some pop here. I absolutely have loved this bulls shape and eye appeal right from a calf. Lots of smoothness and quarter that really jump out at you. This bull should calve easy all day long but still provide an abundance of growth and shape for marketable males and females. Thunder appears twice in this guy’s pedigree. This is a definite bonus for sure in terms of creating gorgeous females. Lucy 100G is a stunning angus cow here and is a lifer for us. A maternal sister is working at Gert Janssens, Cookshire-Eaton, Quebec. Recommended for heifers.
A bull that should have a little more frame at the end of the day. This young bull is a nice hybrid mix of his hard-working young dam and his sire. This guy is long bodied and very athletic. As a younger bull in the offering his is really coming into his own each and every day. Backed by the Zara Lisa cow family is a powerful, functional, and stylish ingredient. Look to this guy to be a calving ease bull but ad some punch to his calves. His maternal brother sold to Austin Vollman, Preeceville, Sk. In 2021. Recommended for heifers.

As Tony Basil said in 1981, “Oh Mickey your so fine you blow my mind. Hey Mickey.” This guy is as cute as a bugs ear with his handsome head and neck and overall proud presence that makes him stand out. I love his head and ears. Mickey is smooth and shapely from end to end and is supported by an excellent foot and leg. This kitten quiet calf is a March 1st guy. His look is eerily similar to the Lot 1 bull. Each time I see him get up on the straw pack I say, “Oh who is that?” It is Mickey. Mickey’s dam is a very nice female who stems back to the Miss Marion 20R cow. 20R was a huge part of the embryo program at Hollinger Land and Cattle. All three of Marion 749D’s daughters are working in purebred herds. I love love this bull and his dam. He will make excellent show steers and productive females. This bull is halter broke. Recommended for heifers.

We, like most everyone, do not want issues calving out heifers. As a result, we try to always use the absolute best calving ease sires we can find. We want heifers to have an easy time calving and spring into action after calving and not lay there exhausted with the calf laying in a mess behind her. Rainfall is the ticket here. Calves come easy, wanna live and just go flat out. We have used Rainfall on heifers and cows for the past three years now. The bulls are highly marketable with lots of shape and style. The daughters are like, “WOW!!!” Great angus females, great moms and wonderful temperament. Udders are lights out. We have more girls in the replacement pen for next year.
Love this guy’s smooth made heifer bull style. He has very nice muscle shape and dimension. Run and Gun 13K has great feet and legs and a is easy to manage. His pedigree is loaded with wonderful calving ease genes in Trapper, Charlo, New Fly. These heifer bull genes are coupled with growth and jam too. We would concur with this based on the cattle here. We had a lot of Renovation calves in 2021. The daughters from this year are first calves here this year and are doing very well with their calve. Couple that with a top 8% of the breed for weaning and yearling weight and you have a weight type recipe for real scale pushing calves that virtually calve themselves. Good ole Dexter here was born small. I remember picking him up and thinking holy s%&t this guy is light. At my age to think a calf is light it really must be light. But from that moment on this long bodied, perfectly headed and smooth shouldered calving ease bull evolved. Dexter is that kinda bull that will enhance a replacement pen too. His dam is an extremely good angus cow. Amy just commented the other day when we were moving her in to the calving pen how beautiful 70F is. Ruth 70F is an Effective daughter. We used Effective a few years ago but for no real reason went away from him. The daughters we have we love. The sons we have raised are very marketable calving ease bulls. So, guess what? Yup, we bred heifers to Effective last spring again. A maternal sister is working here, and one was sold to Big Rock Ranch-Clavet Sk at the 2021 Touch of Class-Ruth 80J. Dexter is halter broke and a gentle bull. It goes without saying that Dexter is a calving ease elite bull recommended for heifers.

This bull is long, deep and powerful. He is in the top 10% and 5% respectively for weaning and yearling weight in the Angus breed. A real curve bending type of bull. Enigma 24K is what I would call a moderate calving ease bull to be used on larger heifers. Enigma 24K is very much like his brother with a nice head smooth shoulder and long body. He has nice muscle shape and is structurally sound. Enigma 24K has been haltered and is very quiet. Zara Lisa 83D is an extremely sound, deep bodied beautiful female. She is currently injured and we are hoping to get this one last bull calf out of her. 83D has a stunning Cache daughter working here and another daughter working at Elldem Cattle Investments. Hang on to the daughters from this bull. This bull is recommended for larger heifers and second calvers to field test for year one.

Well here is a bull out of a home raised sire that Jim Cuistar purchased at the 2020 Blue Collar. When Jim saw Enigma 76H he said, “This bull is a man among boys.” He is full of growth, power and style. When you toss in his calving ease potential then you really have a neat bull. We used Enigma 76H to clean up our heifers and got a nice group of light birth weight calves. Now when you mix in a gorgeous Super Duty daughter that is best describaed as awesome. Enigma 87K is a quiet cool shaped fella that will be easily used on heifers and produce shapely, lively marketable offspring. Recommended for heifers.

Well in 1984 Wendy’s Restaurant launched a commercial campaign with the slogan, “Where’s the Beef?” I believe I have the answer. It’s right here with Express 21K. This tank is full of red meat he has raw power and punch. He is a master at pushing down the scale. He gained 3.35lbs a day and has not been pushed. Outstanding weights on this bull. I have had folks say, “I don’t want those small calves, they can’t handle the cold. I want some bone and mass in my calves. They can handle the weather.” Well, if this is you, here is the bull you will want to put on your cows. This guy is the right kinda big, and he will command your attention at every turn. You will note his dam Tibbie 88C has been designated a CAA Elite dam as of this spring with 6 calves and 7 grand calves already. We have 2 of her daughters working in our herd. We used an Attractive son of hers last year and have offspring on the ground from him. Other sons are working at CorVet Angus-Melita, MB and Northern Lights Livestock-Kinistino, Sk. Tibbie 88C is nothing short of spectacular. We are very proud of this cow that has filled in and matured since the picture at age 5. Tibbie 88C is the granddam to lot 6. We all sell cattle by the pound and with the speculation around the future prices there is a good deal of optimism in the cattle industry. You will need the pounds in your calves, and this is the guy to do it. Express 65K is a big stud out of Lucy/Upward cow. We have a maternal sib working well for us, doing an excellent job on her first calf. Gutzke Ranch-Weyburn, Sk. Has another female working for them. This bull in the top 1% of the breed for weaning and yearling weights. This bull is the heaviest adjusted yearling weight of our offering gaining 3.4 lbs per day to that weight. Well, here is an April 4th calf that is easily the youngest bull in our offering. He is a really really neat bull. His shape and muscle expression stands him out. Each and every day I am more and more impressed with this bull’s maturity and development. Bull’s Eye 117K comes from 21E a thick stout made sire mixed with a very good young Resource daughter, Belle 105G. Belle 105G’s maternal brother was our high seller in last year’s Blue Collar. This guys claim to fame will be the pop and shape he will add to his calves. His females should be head turning too
SCHIEFELBEIN ATTRACTIVE 4565
Attractive is exactly that. He is known for his great hip, added shape and mass. We are super impressed with his progeny here. His calves have tremendous loin and complete tops and awesome overall balance. His calves have oodles of hair. Interestingly, Attractive has less than 1000 registered animals in Canada. This past year I was researching and developing my list for semen to order and since we have used him for 5 years now, I had left him off the list. Considering that tried and true will not fail you. As his calves grew and we admired them again I simply had to order more straws of him. Attractive’s progeny are becoming increasingly more popular and selling for big dollars throughout North America. We used a son we raised from Attractive last year. His daughters are producing for us now and are great moms with excellent structure, balanced beautiful udders. Our fifth crop of Attractive calves have hit the ground and we intend on using him for a sixth consecutive year. I feel like having Attractive semen in your tank 20 years from know could fetch you some pretty good return. Last year Attractive sons sold to LD Farms-Neudorf, Sk. Stellar 18K, AKA Albert, is a real stud. “Albert, Albert…., I wish we had guy like Albert!” Well, here is your opportunity. This bull has had above average performance and style throughout his life. He entered the world at a light 75lbs and just exploded from there having a birth weight ranked in the top 10% of the breed and both weaning and yearling in top 1%. He starts off on a very good foot and builds from there.
He has a massive deep volumed body with excellent width and shape, ample maturity, and scrotal development. The Attractive sons have garnished a great deal of attention in the past blue collars. Now you stir in some Ruth/Thunder genetics with 88A and well look out. Ruth is a deep sided, good footed powerful cow that was sadly lost this past fall. However, at 17, Ruth 84S is still in our herd with another calf coming. She has perfect feet, in great condition and has an udder that is very good, especially for a 17-year-old. She is a tremendously athletic cow. On summer side by side pasture tours, she is one of the first cows to arrive at the side by side with the 2–4-year-old cows.
Ruth 88A has been a bull making factory with he first b ull going to 4G Angus of Yorkton, Sk and every other bull after that going to Venture Farms, Roblin, Mb. They really saw the value of the Ruth genetics for their herd.
Look to Albert to produce low birth weight, vigorous calves that take off and produce. The daughters from 18K will likely be ones too build some females around.
Albert is halter broke. Recommended for heifers.
Stellar 40K is a smooth made, long bodied bull with nice shape and design to him. He has a good foot to him with lots of nuts. Stellar 40K has very good temperament too. His dam, Susan 47Z, was the original Susan Talon purchased from Eastondale. She has been a very consistent cow producing good ones each year. We have daughters working well in our herd. Her first daughter has been designated an elite dam and another one is the dam to lot 26 in this year’s sale. She also has daughters working at Eastondale, Peace Angus and DenBrok’s R-Ranch. This bull is moderate in his birth weight but has strong performance to him. Very good females should be produced by this fella.

His dam is a deep bodied, powerful and sound Unanimous Lucy daughter that has crossed very well with Attractive. She has full sibs working at Gutzke’s Ranch, Weyburn, Sk., Homestead Angus, Youngstown, Alberta and Gert Janssens, Cookshire Eaton, Quebec. The daughters from Jimmy should be the front pasture kind. Stellar 60K is a bull with ample stretch and growth. His long body, smooth made nature and birth weight numbers makes him a good heifer bull candidate that should have some calves with some punch to them with his weaning weigh being in top 7% of the breed and yearling weight in top 15% of the breed. His overall power and shape are two areas which draw my attention to him in the pen. 96C is a beautiful deep, powerful, and structurally sound cow. She dropped a Super Duty bull calf this year. He is looking really cool.
A full brother, Stellar 97G, sold to Benlock Farm through the Blue Collar. Tom has had nothing but positive feedback on this stud. They have sons selling in their bull sale this spring. We used Cutting Edge for two years, then for no real reason other than to change things up we stopped. Our family would like to welcome you to the 17th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale. Hard to believe its been 17 years already! We have truly enjoyed working with Northern View Angus, all of our past guest consignors and our past bull sale customers who have brought commercial heifers to the sale each year.
Our family has been raising purebred Angus cattle since 1933 and have been registering calves with the Canadian Angus Association for 82 years. We currently have the Fifth generation of Parkwood Farm actively raising Angus cattle and working on the farm. We are proud to be a family run operation.
First, we would like to thank our past and present customers. You are the reason we continue to work hard to offer these bulls and we are proud to see our bulls working on your farms!
We have on offer a wide variety of genetics, including Ellingson Three Rivers, HA Cowboy Up, Square B Atlantis, Peak Dot Trust and Pine View Raider just to name a few. We are continually searching for new sire groups that will provide moderate birth weights as well as growth to the weaning and yearling stages. We also run a small feedlot operation, so we understand the need to have performance bred into these calves for when they go to market. When selecting genetics it is also very important to us to breed and develop a strong, maternal female group that is the foundation of our herd. Through the use of our herd bulls, AI sires and embryo purchases we feel that we have a strong and productive group of females on our farm.
These bulls are on a full vaccination program from birth to sale and our feed nutritionist, Jessica Hextall from Trouw Nutrition, works with us to test our feed and to develop rations to ensure the bulls are getting the nutrition required to develop into mature bulls. They also have Sweet-Pro lick tubs available in the pen.
We stand behind our bulls 100% and are proud of our offering. We will work with our customers to ensure their breeding needs are met should any concerns arise.
We would also like to thank our family and friends who help us sale day in the barns and in the office! We appreciate all of your help! If you wish to view the bulls prior to the sale, the farm is always open and you are more than welcome to stop by.

She had a very successful flush and we registered two beautiful females and five pen popular sons last year, and we have more on the ground this winter. All of the females will be retained in our herd, as well as one son, and we cannot wait to see them in production.

Stellar is a powerhouse individual that combines an outcross, proven pedigree with great maternal design. He is a proven foot quality improver ranking at the very top of the Main Sire list for combined Foot Score EPD’s. He is a super thick topped and deep sided bull that transmits added substance, fleshing ability and muscle shape. His progeny have been cowboy favourites and the dominant sire group in the Sitz Angus Ranch sales over the last two years, with Stellar himself being the 2017 Sitz Angus Sale topper.
1K’s dam is a powerful Motive cow, with great feet, an impeccable udder and an abundance of milk. Her proven cow family can be traced back to the early 70’s in our herd and has 3 daughters currently working on our farm as well.
We purchased this embryo in partnership with a wise fellow rancher. His Hi Definition sire was a show topper for two years straight at Agribition and Brandon Ag Ex. 47K has the muscle shape, thickness and volume of an ideal beef producer that will add power and punch to his calves.

If you value type and kind along with foot integrity and basic structural design, SAV Supercharger is the No. 1 bull choice for your herd. He’ll improve structural soundness, maternal abilities and performance. Daughters are highly feminine, attractive, maternal females that give off a brood cow appearance.
This bull has a little more growth in him. He’s a bigger son that is bulky, wide based and muscular with superior scrotal circumference and a masculine presence. 26K’s dam is a powerful HLC Errolline dam that is currently raising her 9th calf and is still in great shape, with loads of body, middle and milk.
88K is a performance orientated bull with added shape and dimension. He will certainly add muscle, size and payweight to his progeny. 88K comes from a long line of Lady Ann cows on our farm. This Supercharger son is off a mature, moderate framed, deep bodied cow that walks out on a good foot.

A solid bull by Stature with extra length and muscle. He is a bull that will get the ground covered and leave some excellent females.
We set out to find a powerful Homestead son and we purchased this Homestead sire from the Cowboys Angus Bull Sale in 2021. We were impressed with his epd and trait profile as well as many of his sons. He is a balanced trait sire with 10 traits in the top 15% or higher.
He is a little more moderate made, but he is sure thick and long. His dam is out of our Tibbie cow family that has been an integral part of our breeding program.

Welcome to the open heifer segment of the 17th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale! We would, once again, like to thank the Blue Collar Sale group for offering the opportunity for us to bring these young herd-building females to you.
The eight Irving Angus replacement heifers on offer this year have all received Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot and Ultrabac 7 Somubac on February 4 as well as Ivomec application. The group was moved to Northern View Angus on February 16 to provide time to settle in and to reduce travel stress prior to sale.
This year marks our 23rd year as Irving Angus and we continue our work on developing efficient, functional females that are highly maternal and built to stand up to our unpredictable climate. We are hopeful that as you review a rock-solid Blue Collar bull offering, you also find a moment to consider the opportunity that these up-and-coming young females might offer.

Blackbird 9K is the 7th calf and fifth daughter of Irving Angus Blackbird 4B. Two maternal sisters have been retained in the herd and a Willowview Significant 1/2 brother sold to Ron Pingert of Pangman, SK. This Blackbird family all trace back to our original purchase of Ivanhoe Blackbird 4J from Ron and Marilyn Mountenay of Belle Plaine, SK. Add to this the thickness and structure of her sire, Northern View Super Duty 138H, and there is potential for this heifer to be a very strong producer.

His dam, and granddam to Lady Lee 11K, was designated a Canadian Angus Elite female. With the influence of Crescent Creek Ideal 105U and Lamb’s Quarters Ultra 61N also in her background, Lady Lee 11K is built for longevity.

Pride 15K is a strong representation of the type of female we are seeing sired by Northern View Super Duty 138H. 15K has depth from front to back, plenty of length, and a great walk. Her dam Kodiak Pride 5A is an excellent mother – durable and stately – after 9 calves. This heifer represents a perfect opportunity to add some maternal power to your pen.
IRVING ANGUS LUCY 17K
Lucy 17K is a Dispatcher 414D heifer out of a heavy frame Crescent Creek Ideal dam. Lucy 10A, is the soggy type with depth of rib and heavy hind quarter. This heifer still has a long way to go before she reaches her full stature, so if you are looking for a female that will fill out nicely and carry her condition throughout the year, this heifer is a sound choice.

This heifer has been parent verified. Pride 26K is a very nice heifer sired by Dispatcher 414D. Her dam, Pride 31B, is an excellent female with sound udder and extra thickness through the hind quarter. However, in an unexpected plot twist, 31B and our Lady Lee 13F cow swapped calves, so Pride 26K spent the summer under the care of 13F and hasn’t missed a beat. 31B raised IRV 27K – a strong Dispatcher bull that is still in our sale pen. Long-story-short – the DNA work is done, Northern View Angus purchased a maternal sister to this heifer last year, and Pride 26K is a sweet heifer packed with potential.

Lady McHenry 28K is the only Northern View Compass 129G female that we are offering, and she is one that deserves a look. We used Compass primarily on our heifers for calving ease and sound conformation and he did not disappoint. 28K’s dam, Lady McHenry 32H brings the added bonus of Widespread genetics – a line that seems to show up in some of our strongest females. If you like the Consensus cattle and are looking for a moderate sized, thick-built package – have a look at 28K.
