Così Jaremi Picz, artista di origini Polacche da poco insignito del prestigioso titolo di “artista dell’anno” al Mantua Art Prize 2019, spiega la filosofia che è stata alle origini della sua fortunata serie Epicentrum.
Jaremi Picz, artist from Poland, recently awarded the prestigious title of “artist of the year” at the Mantua Art Prize 2019, explains, with these words, the philosophy at the origins of his successful series Epicentrum. In Epicentrum the boundaries between the human body and spirituality are sublimated: the invitation is to consider itself a part of the whole. A harmonious organism with the cosmos, no longer split.
In Epicentrum si vanno a sublimare i confini fra corpo umano e spiritualità:l’invito e quello a considerarsi una parte del tutto. Un’organismo armonico con il cosmo, non più scisso. Entità senziente capace di ripensare se stessa nella propria totalità. Lo spettacolo della supernova che implode attira inevitabilmente la nostra attenzione ma esso è solo il pretesto per iniziare la nostra ricerca. Quello che c’interessa non è, infatti, il fatto dell’esplosione in sé esplosione ma raggiungerne l’ epicentro, centro di diffusione permanente di quello che è un fenomeno fisico e, al contempo, spirituale. L’eco del suprematismo di Kazimir Malevic sembra aleggiare in tutta questa produzione e ricordarci che l’arte contempoanea non deve più sottostare a nulla se non a se stessa e alla propria energia. Ed è grazie alla potenza scaturita da Epicentrum che l’arte di Picz investe tutto il nostro essere e innesca in noi, nel nostro spirito, un mutamento che ha il sapore di una metempsicosi dettata dalla casualità degli schizzi di colore che si dispongono sulla tela. Fortuitamente. eppure seguendo una legge segreta, come il caso che governa le nostre esistenze. Dalla casualità del gesto artistico, libero da ogni volontà figurativa nasce la perfezione del cerchio, si raggiunge la dimensione aurea, si contempla finalmente l’epicentro. La volontà dell’artista di liberare l’arte da schemi e preconcetti, di renderla un linguaggio autonomo e universale, è sempre alla base dell’opera di Picz. Tra le opere presentate da Picz in questa mostra una menzione speciale va fatta per la sua opera tridimensionale dove la pittura lascia il posto alla scultura m soprattutto dove l’artista e lo spettatore possono confondere i propri ruoli: infatti, impostando e riposizionando gli elementi che la compongono, lo spettatore può interagire con l’opera e creare egli stesso nuovi accostamenti artistici in un “ready made continuo” che innesca la riflessione su cosa sia l’arte contemporanea e sulla sua accessibilità oggi.
A sentient entity capable of rethinking itself in its totality. The spectacle of the supernova that implodes inevitably attracts our attention but it is only the pretext to start our research. What interests us is not, in fact, the moment of the explosion itself but in our willness to reach its epicenter. A center of permanent diffusion of what is a physical and, at the same time, spiritual phenomenon. The echo of the suprematism of Kazimir Malevich seems to hover in all this production and remind us that contemporary contemporary art cannot be subjected to anything; only subjected to itself and to its own energy. It is thanks to the power generated by Epicentrum that Picz’s art invests our whole being and triggers in us, in our spirit, a change that has the taste of a metempsychosis born from the randomness of the color splashes arranged on the canvas. Fortuitously. Only following a secret law, like the same that runs our lives. The perfection of the circle is born from the randomness of the artistic gesture, free from every figurative will. the aurea proportion is reached, the epicenter is finally contemplated. The artist’s desire to free art from patterns and preconceptions in oder to make it an autonomous and universal language, is always the basis of Picz’s work. Among the works presented by Picz in this exhibition a special mention must be made for his three-dimensional work where painting is free to dialogue with the sculpture but, especially, where the artist and the viewer can switch their roles. By setting and repositioning the elements that compose the artwork, the viewer can interact with it and create himself new artistic combinations in a “continuous ready made” that triggers reflection on what contemporary art is and its accessibility today.
