College of Architecture is one of the Premier institute of Sardar Vallabhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT), established by the New English Trust of Vasad. SVIT comprises several disciplines of Technical Educations such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Aeronautical engineering as well as Information Technology, MCA and Instrumentation and Control. College of Architecture is imparting education with the consent of Council of Architecture, Delhi and is affiliated to Gujarat University. A PERFECT SYNTHESIS OF ART AND SCIENCE Architecture has always been creative, open-minded profession with an affinity for logic, reasoning and planning. Bridging the gap between an inspired incentive approach and a practical method of architectural academics, the college of architecture, vasad is constantly striving to achieve that excellence. Since its inception in 2000, the institution has been contributing actively in the field architecture, training and encouraging future architects to understand value and comprehend their role as space makers, designers and responsible citizens. The various programs are designed to foster a thirst for knowledge encouraging students to not only follow a conventional method of learning but also to experiment with the limitless creative facts of architecture.
COURSE STRUCTURE The course revolves around the studio programs that are well equipped with experienced core faculties and regular – visiting academicians and professionals, each proficient in their area of the expertise. The architectural education commences with the Basic Design Studio which develops an aesthetic insight in the students. This is followed by rigorous and comprehensive structure design to generate a response to Context and Climate fundamentals of good architecture. Further on, an advanced Institutional Studiobroadens the Intellectual horizon. In the fourth year, a well formulated Urban Design and Sustainable architecture Studio is open for them to update themselves to current practices. The Design Thesis of the Final Year students is guided by experts and students then pursue professional training. The course aims at an all round development of students not only in their skills but also in their architectural perspective. Various electives are offered to them at various stages in form of workshops and lectures, which develop not only the hand-on skills with different workshops like printmaking, textile, carpentry, etc. but also aim to develop managerial skills and theoretical base with theory based lectures. The exploration with materials and crafts condition them to appreciate art and aesthetics better. Study tours are organized to different parts of India to study the architectural monuments ,helping the students to learn not only history but then prevalent architectural practices. t

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Various sports facilities are offered to enhance their spirit of sports as well as cultural activities to help them with their all round development along with academics. There is active student participation in sports like Basketball ,Swimming, Table Tennis, Cricket etc. and various other cultural activities like Singing, Dancing, Drama, Pottery, Elocution in collaboration with student committee (S.P.R.Y)
FACILITIES Workshops are boosters to the Studio Classes and are supported with large Computer labs, Auditorium facilities and Audiovisual Rooms. Refreshment Center along with Stationary shop and a Health Care Unit are too ancillary to this. A WI-FI Campus for internet access and Full Security Cameras – 24x7 for student's safety and vigilance.
