Introduction All scripture quotations in“Whispering Wisdom” come from the Holy Bible (CUVMPT ,NIV, NLT). I picked out my favorite subjects because most of them reveal our everyday life, human nature and God’s unchanging nature. For those who are wondering what Christianity is all about, I’m sure this book can help you get to know God and understand our core belief. Hope you will enjoy every topic and let God speaks to you. Read slowly and enjoy! May God bless you.

Wisdom The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. (Proverbs 9:11, James 1:5-8 NLT)

Sword and Words The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. And I (Jesus) tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Proverbs 18:21, 12:18 10:19 NIV, Matthew 12:36-37 NLT, Hebrews 4:12 NIV)

Be Joyful A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Proverbs 17:22, Philippians 4:4-7 NIV)

Chasing After the Wind King Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived. He has all the riches in the world, he had tried everything in life yet he felt everything is meaningless. Here’s the words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them”—
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. (Ecclesiastes 1:1-4, 12:1,13-14 NIV)
