PROGRAM NOTES
Aftershock! was written as a sequel to the piece Shockwave! The instrumentation is the same for both pieces: two sets of bongos, high and low congas, and four graduated toms. The piece was composed with an antiphonal setup in mind and highlights different relationships within the setup (see setup diagram). Many of the musical techniques are similar to the first piece, but the difficulty level is raised slightly to allow the players to grow with Aftershock!

This rhythm appears throughout along with other standard eighth/sixteenth combinations. I hope you can use this as a teaching tool, but more importantly, have fun with it!
A note on stickings: Some stickings are written in, especially early in the piece, to aid in uniformity and visual clarity. If a rhythm or passage does not include stickings, assume the same sticking as the previous iteration of that rhythm.
