FINER WOMANHOOD, SCHOLARSHIP & AWARDS . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7
As a part of Finer Womanhood Month, members of Tau Psi Zeta Chapter along with their friends and family participated in the Determination Overcomes Virtually Everything (D.O.V.E) Virtual 5k Walk/Run. All participants received a souvenir finisher’s medal and a souvenir face gaiter with their registration and had the option of purchasing a dri-fit tshirt. The event was a week long (March 22-27, 2021) where participants were able to complete their 3.1 miles by either running/walking from any location at their own pace. Proceeds from the D.O.V.E Virtual 5K walk/run went towards helping victims of domestic violence and to provide scholarships to those in need. Thank you to all the participants!
FIT & FINER LOSER CHALLENGE
TPZ Fit & Finer organized a Finer Loser Challenge where participating Sorors took on the challenge of losing pounds and inches either on their own or as a team.

There were four categories: DOVE (participate by yourself); Tyler Sisters (participate with a Soror or Friend), Pearl Team (participate with no more than four others Sorors/Friends) and Soror +1 (participate with family members or other Divine 9 member, etc.) . The winners were Soror Tammy Rutledge (DOVE) who lost a total of 15.2 lbs and was awarded $100.00. Sorors Allene Cunningham and Regina Berry (Tyler Sisters) lost a combined total of 29.6 lbs and were awarded $40.00 each. GREAT JOB SORORS!!

Tau Psi Zeta Chapter mourns the loss of their beloved Soror and Friend Mildred P. Butler. Soror Butler gained her angel wings on April 18, 2021 at the age of 97. She joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1942. She was a charter member of Zeta Tau Zeta and Psi Psi Zeta Chapters and a current member of Tau Psi Zeta Chapter, Alsip, IL. Soror Butler, who was a Zeta Dove (78 years) and Life Member, touched the lives of many. She has served in many roles in Zeta:

Soror Butler lived a fulfilling life. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and sorors. Rest Well Triumphant Soror!
CHUCKS AND PEARLS: TPZ SHOWS SUPPORT FOR GREEK SISTER, MADAM VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS
Pairing the casual look of Converse sneakers and the sophisticated pearls has become a trademark for Madam Vice President Kamala Harris as she became known for wearing the combination together during her campaign. On the day of the 2021 Inauguration, women all over the world were full of excitement and found their own special way to celebrate Vice President Kamala Harris’ huge accomplishment on becoming the first female African-American woman and first Asian woman to become Vice President of the United States. In TPZ fashion, along with women of all sororities, members donned themselves in their Chucks and pearls for the day while they watched the inauguration and celebrated our Greek sister. CONGRATULATIONSagain to Vice President Kamala Harris. You are definitely an inspiration!
