SCHOLARSHIP
The spring semester was very unique for the women of the Nu Delta Chapter. However, the women still upheld our first principle of scholarship. The members were able to establish an annual scholarship giveaway for one college student and one high school student. Study tables were also hosted every Tuesday at 7pm and ran for two hours. While at study tables, the chapter took the time to complete assignments as well as destress and play games with attendees. The chapter also announced their annual school supply drive in honor of our dovely founder Fannie Pettie Watts. The chapter also celebrated three members who graduated, Soror Calia Brooks, Soror Leyah Cannon and Soror Fahren Zackery.

In December 2020, the Nu Delta Chapter participated in #GivingTuesday. The women also began to collect supplies for the school supply drive. During the month of January, the chapter donated 50 PPE kits to a local retirement facility as a part of the “Blessed Bundles” service initiative. There were other service events that took place: “Feminine products” and “Bra Drive,” Adopt-A-Highway and many more.
SISTERHOOD
Sisterhood involves everyone in the chapter. The Nu Delta Chapter has a Sisterhood committee to hold events and to kindly remind everyone to be sisterly. Sisterhood is about making sure everyone in the chapter feels loved, respected, and appreciated. It is not just about calling ourselves sisters, but is about acting like sisters. The women of the Nu Delta Chapter believe that sisterhood goes further than just our chapter or sorority. The chapter hosted an event called “Sister to Sister, Sister” where each chapter member shared what being a sister meant to them and encouraged other sororities to do the same.

FINER WOMANHOOD
The women of the Nu Delta Chapter strive to uphold themselves as finer women throughout their daily lives. The women dress to impress. The proposed idea for the women of Nu Delta’s Finer Womanhood Week was to highlight each of our founders since they created the meaning of the word “finer”. The events were inspired by the different aspects of Finer womanhood that each of our five founders possessed.

EVENTS
OMICRON DELTA CHAPTER EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY
By: Mikayla Sanford, Ke’Ara Cherry, and Imani Tapley
Omicron Delta Chapter hosted a number of events during the 2020-2021 school year. With regulations set in place due to Covid-19, Omicron Delta continued to give back to the community and create events that were safe to attend. Omicron Delta Chapter hosted Zeta week January 17th — 24th. Zeta Week included a number of virtual events. This year, the chapter was able to incorporate several supplies pick up locations for events that required materials, such as the Chat and Paint event that was held on January 19th.
The chapter understood the importance of trying to be social during the pandemic but felt there were topics that could also benefit students on campus. Zeta Week included two events, “InvaZion of Privacy” and “Women and Power.” Finer Womanhood month is close to every Zeta’s heart, and this year the chapter tried something new by hosting a Virtual “Finer” Tea party. This event took place on Sunday, March 28th, and consisted of a beautiful afternoon of discussions and teadrinking. The chapter’s goal is to make this an annual event and have the number of participants grow.
Upon Delta Chi Chapter’s return to Eastern Illinois University campus, Omicron Delta Chapter collaborated with them on a wellness event called “Let’s Talk Wellness.” The event was held on March 30th, and was aimed to be beneficial to the student body. As the year went on, students and staff began to feel the effects of quarantining and social distancing, missing their friends and family, as well as struggling with classes. The Omicron Delta Chapter did another collaboration, but with NAACP on April 14th, about mental health and seasonal depression.
Scholarship is not only a principle of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., but something that is worked on during our entire college journey. Almost every two weeks, Omicron Delta Chapter hosted Study TableZ. This event was to ensure that time was set aside for homework and studying. During the event, participants work with members of the chapter. At times, study groups are formed and used outside of the event. Overall, Omicron Delta Chapter worked hard this year to give students a look into the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and ensure them that they will have our support during their time at Eastern Illinois University.
