Concept Development Wetlands are areas that are either covered or saturated in water. Plants called hydrophytes define the wetland ecosystem and provide oxygen to the pockets of water. Wetlands are known as ‘transition zones’ of nature and are self-sustaining ecosystems that are capable of filtering and treating soil of surrounding lands.
Wet Meadow
Concept Statement Wetlands are a self-sustaining ecosystem that consists of five different levels starting at the highest point which has the most life and vegetation to the lowest which is fully submerged underwater. From the transition zones of water paths to the ever changing colors from the seasons, wetlands provide a sense of peace and serenity. The NEXT office is designed to act as its own ecosystem as it works to provide its employees with a safe space that inspires collaborative work, and an environment that evokes peace and wellness. MICRO-APARTMENTS
Micro-Apartments Spring 2020 Location: Cortex I Building 4320 Forest Park Ave. St. Louis, MO 63110 Cortex Building 2nd Floor The design goal for this project was to create a WELL building standard space that evoked wellness and community. With the micro-apartments, the space called for multiple community spaces to promote interaction between the users and movement through out the space.
02
Cortex Patio - Garden Space Concept Statement Designing a space that reduces the size of living but increases the size of a community requires an environment that attracts individuals from all walks of life. This project is not only going to be unifying living spaces but also simplifying the way of everyday life in order to minimize its impact on the environment. The design for space is inspired by 1970s homes and the Mid-Century Modern style. With the use of color, materials, and nature the design is intended to promote the sense of community and serenity. The idea of using these styles is to invoke the feeling of home and comfort within this apartment complex.

* Custom Chair
S-CURV Concept: This chair is inspired by the human spine and the impact proper posture has on health. I took the S-curve of the spine and inverted it, this shape is what inspired the silhouette/form of the chair. The concept I have come up with is a contemporary adaptation of the De Stijl style. Although the chair itself doesn’t reflect this concept, I chose to relate the materials used to that of the companies branding/color palette.

EARLY EDUCATION
Fall 2020 Location: 2801 Oakland Ave. Maplewood, MO 63142 Early Education Center The design goal for this project was to create a space that would provide children, in the three to five year old range, a pre/post pandemic space that allows them to continue their education safely in person.

MAPLEWOOD RICHMOND HEIGHTS EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER
CONCEPT STATEMENT Creativity is the quintessential element in the early stages of a child's life. Utopia is an imaginary place that represents a perfect idealistic oasis for any given individual. The idea of Utopia is the basis of this design. The goal is to create an educational environment that evokes creativity and imagination, allowing the children to mold the space into whatever they dream it to be. With the use of materials and color this early educational center will reflect a peaceful serene place that invites children to use their imagination to the fullest.

Attachment Theory Psychosocial Development
RESEARCH Child Development Behavioral Child Development: Environment heavily impacts and influences a child's behavior. Observational behaviors develop as reactions to rewards, punishment, stimuli, etc. Cognitive Development: Environments and actions are important because children view the world very differently as they are very impressionable.
Psychosexual Development: Understanding feeling in the body as the also understand how their body works (ex. potty training). Sociocultural Theory: Learning actively though hands on experiences, and from a more diverse environment. Social Learning Theory: Observation plays a key role in a child's development as it teaches them basic skills.
Psychosocial Theory: The process from birth to death where life experiences shape, and develop emotions and social skills of the child. Attachment Theory: Who children interact with the most in early life are the most impressionable, and will impact their social relationships later in life.

Drawing and Painting has been a passion of mine since I was as a child. I was always finding inspiration outside looking at the landscape or seeing faces in plants. As I got older I continued to better my hand as I moved on to do AP Studio art in high school. I choose a career in Interior Design because it allows me to combine my passion for art with a industry where I get to explore a new medium that is space.
