Vacation Homes Concept When two elements are opposite yet interdependent to each other, it’s as if two worlds inosculate through use but are separate through identity. Inosculation is defined as when twoor more things intertwine or fit closely together. In this case, the functionality of the homes are intertwined through culture and physical space in which the environment becomes an expression of that unity.

Each individual is like a eucalyptus tree. Our roots ground ourselves and define who we are. But as we grow, much like a tree’s growth, we have to be open to the new and many possibilities. If your arm represents a branch, let that branch reach out to something new. We imagine our bark is thick and coarse to use as a type of defense, but much like the eucalyptus tree, it is a thin smooth layer because what defines us is on the inside, not just the outside.

I used these stairs as inspiration for my monumental staircase leading to the second floor. Because my concept is based around the eucalyptus tree, I wanted to give the impression that you were walking up sliced tree trunks. Using a bark-like material would’ve given a harsher appearance so I chose a concrete vinyl to appear smooth and sturdy.

There are many different kinds of birds and each bird makes itsown nest in unique ways. Just like birds, we apply that similar concept to our own homes and make our own unique nest.

My concept is fall for patterns. I wanted to incorporate many different patterns throughout the restaurant without it being excessively busy. By using different patterns in each space it helps to define each space individually and make it unique.

My concept is a sunset on the hills. Because Valley Creek is around so many hills, there’s such fresh green grass during the summer. The sunsets there are gorgeous because the light brightens up the colors on the fruit trees. Like any other sunset, the sky lights up with different reds, oranges, and yellows.

This project was to design the interior of a Lustron House. The goal for this project was to enhance our skills in SketchUp. It was exciting for me to design a home since I’m ver y interested in residential interior design.
