What does giving back mean to us at The Community Foundation? The TCFHR staff members each have different responses but at the center hold the same values We want to share what we have with others, plain and simple. Our focus is to make giving easy so that we may create bridges and impactful collaborations among donors and nonprofit organizations. In order to do that, we have to uphold our value of trust We must be transparent and responsible to those we serve including donors, nonprofits, professional advisors, students, and the greater Harrisonburg-Rockingham community Trust, a core value of The Community Foundation, is instilled in everything we do. The Community Foundation holds itself accountable and preserves the intent of every donor that works with us, now and forever. We respect the pre-existing trust between professional advisors and their clients by facilitating charitable giving directly with those advisors. Nonprofit organizations trust us because our vision is that every nonprofit has the resources they need to succeed Students come to us for guidance for their scholarship funding. Lastly, we want to embody trust within the greater community because it is the home we know and love. We encourage you to learn more about The Community Foundation by continuing to read our 2022 Annual Report. Thank you for your continued partnership and trust.

We facilitate multiple ways to give to our community through different types of donations including money, securities, property and complex gifts. Our local community and professional advisors trust us to honor the intentions of our donors and to ensure their donations go to the organizations, funds or endowments they choose. At The Community Foundation, we are always looking to the future as we address current community needs. We work to grow community endowments so that nonprofits can budget and plan for their organization’s future.
Endowments like the Community Endowment, Children's Cancer Endowment, Big Brothers Big Sisters Endowment Fund, and many more are housed at The Community Foundation We specialize in endowment giving to fund the future of our community Your gift is invested and earnings from this fund are used to make grants addressing community needs or your designated charitable interest. Your gift and all future earnings are a permanent source of community capital, helping do good work today, tomorrow and for years to come. Over several decades, an endowed fund’s principal can more than double… while supplying grants every year.
Donors who endow their gifts can make a difference in their community during their lifetime, and for the future of the community. Grants will continue to be made in the name of the fund you establish so that your charitable wishes are preserved. To learn more on how you can invest in our community's future, visit www.tcfhr.org or call us at 540-432-3863.
