Priest’s words at funeral Mass of mum-of-three Olivia Dunlea-O’Brien MAHON ARE THE three children of Cork mum Olivia Dunlea-O’Brien have been “cruelly robbed of the years of love and caring that she so wished to give them.” Those were the words of Fr Seán O’Sullivan at an emotional and heartbreaking funeral Mass for the 36-year-old woman, who was killed in Passage West on Sunday. Hundreds of mourners turned up for the funeral of Ms Dunlea-O’Brien, sharing the grief of her family and three young chil-

dren — Aaron, age 12, Megan, age 10, and Darragh, age nine. Fr O’Sullivan, a priest in Passage West and Monkstown, said: “It’s wrong that we should even find ourselves here. It’s wrong that Olivia’s life, that anyone’s life, should be taken from them. It is wrong that Aaron, Megan and Darragh should be cruelly robbed of the years of love and caring that Olivia so wished to give them. “Olivia had a huge capacity for life, for friendship, for fun and for good-

ness. Such a combination of gifts is a rare and wonderful thing.” Ms Dunlea-O’Brien’s aunt Sally paid a moving tribute at the Mass, remembering how Olivia loved to play with her children. “She was a sweet and lovely girl, full of love and fun. “When we remember her life let’s not think about how she left us — but how she lived.” Ms Dunlea-O’Brien was stabbed before her home was set on fire in the early hours of Sunday. ● See page three of more.
