Coroner’s warning to young girls about the dangers of dieting

Gráinne O’Donoghue: Suffered from anorexia.

Heart attack death of 19-year-old anorexic

Please give me vacant council house pleads mum “I CAN’T believe anyone would refuse a council house because of a lack of space for a trampoline. All I want is a roof over the heads of my sons. I would take anything.” Mum-of-two Samantha Lees, ULJKW, age 25 from Glanmire, said she is facing homelessness next month because she can’t afford the rent on a private house. She applied for the county council’s social housing list five years ago, but said a mix-up with the forms meant she was only officially put on the list in May last year. It was revealed this week that 60 offers were made to people on the waiting lists for homes in Fernwood, Glanmire — but so far 26 of them have been rejected by applicants. The hearing into the death of Gráinne O’Donoghue, was told she died suddenly on January 4, while watching television at home weighing 6.5 stone. I am desperate to put a roof over the heads of my sons. All I want is a place for them to sleep at night, somewhere we can call home. I don’t care what size it is, or if there is a garden. I’m panicking, because we have nowhere to go from next month. It is disgraceful that there are people on the housing list who don’t even want a house. They are only on the list to get Rent Allowance for private homes. It is clogging up the whole process. Then there are people like me, who would love a council house, but can’t get one.” ● See page three for more.
