EVIL: Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, left, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19
2am: Scenes of jubilation on Boston streets as second bomber is caught alive — and cop tweet sums it all up “CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody.”
That was the tweet from law enforcers in Boston early today as they apprehended the second college student wanted for the marathon bombings. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was seriously injured in a shoot-out, after he was found hiding in a boat. His brother and accomplice, Tamerlan, 26, a father of one, had been killed yesterday

while attempting to flee police. The brothers are suspects in Monday’s marathon bombings, which killed three and wounded more than 180 — including Martin Richard, 8, who has relatives in Mitchelstown. The suspects, ethnic Chechens, lived in the Dagestan region of southern Russia, but had been in the US for about a decade, an uncle said. The arrest of Dzhokhar brought to an end a huge man-
hunt that left the city paralysed. During a long night of violence from Thursday into yesterday, the brothers killed a cop, severely wounded another, and hurled explosives at police in a car chase and gun battle. Authorities in Boston enforced a lockdown and warned close to a million people to stay indoors. Celebrations erupted across Boston as news of the arrest broke. People took to the streets to cheer and applaud as police
left the scene of the arrest. At the home of the New York Mets, fans leapt to their feet and cheered when the news was announced, while hundreds marched down Commonwealth Avenue, chanting “USA” and singing the Red Sox anthem Sweet Caroline. Today, the family of Martin Richard, whose mother and sister were also seriously injured in the bomb, offered its thanks to the investigators.
