CBC in bidding for Carrigaline school A NEW secondary school planned for Carrigaline could be modelled along the same lines as one of the city’s most historic and exclusive institutions, Christian Brothers College (CBC). The trust behind CBC Cork is bidding to become the patron of a new secondary school in Carrigaline planned for 2016 — which would be non-fee paying and co-educational, unlike its city counterpart. new school before the end of this month. If successful, there would be a partnership between CBC Cork and the new school in management expertise, resources and teacher experience, according to CBC Cork principal Dr Larry Jordan. The ERST joins the multi-denominational Educate Together organisation, which runs 65 schools around Ireland, and Cork County VEC, in bidding to take patronage of the school planned for Carrigaline. A new all-Irish gaelcholáiste is

already scheduled to open in Carrigaline next year under the patronage of Cork County VEC, while work started in February on a major extension to Carrigaline Community School. The Department of Education say there is enough demand for a new school by 2016. Dr Jordan said the ERST wanted to run a new school in Carrigaline along the same lines as CBC, but it would be co-educational and non-fee paying. Recruitment starts for EMC jobs

The company has already started recruiting to fill the jobs which will be at new offices, scheduled to open in August at Citygate in Mahon. announcement today, and paid tribute to the passion and dedication of the Cork workforce at the existing Ovens plant.
