When you see children battle so hard and overcome so many obstacles, it’s hard when support isn’t there at school,” said Earlier this week, Minister for Education Ruairí Quinn did a U-turn on a proposed 10% cut in resource teaching hours for children with disabilities, but parents anger was still palpable. ● See P4.

SPECIAL disposal bins have been placed in the toilets on the Grand Parade for needles used by heroin addicts who are shooting up there.

The measure comes as gardaí express concern about the increase in addicts who are now injecting the drug in Cork city. A spokesman for Cork City Council, which owns the toilets on Grand Parade, said the bins had been put in place because needles were being dumped on the floor of ● Continued on page two.
