“His wife was waiting in town for him. She was waiting and then she saw a woman garda coming towards her and she knew she had bad news coming,” said Monsignor Goold. “John was a lovely, kind, gentle man. He and his wife were a beautiful couple and of course the family is devastated. But they are

It’s believed that Mr O’Driscoll was a native of Glanmire and had spent some years in Australia but had been living in Midleton for approximately 30 years. John O’Driscoll from Innygrega, Midleton, was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision near Carrigtwohill. Monsignor Eamonn Goold, parish priest of Midleton, said Mr O’Driscoll was travelling to Midleton to pay for a new door which was put into his home the day before the accident.
