They’re underdogs against reigning doubleholders UL Eagles in the clash, which is screened live at 8.45pm on Setanta Ireland, but are hoping to bring the cup back to Leeside to honour the memory of Emmet Neville. National Cup preview in Cork Sports World Dwyer, one of the grittiest players in Irish basketball, believes her team has the firepower to bring down the champions. “UL are overwhelming favourites, but we stand proud as the only team to have defeated them in two years of competition.” Looking back on Team Montenotte’s league win, Dwyer is wary UL will be going all out to avenge that defeat. “There is little doubt when they were leading us by 23 points in the first half, they thought it was a case of going through the motions.”

COBH Ramblers are back in the League of Ireland after a four-year absence, ZULWHV 12(/ 63,//$1( The east Cork were awarded a First Division licence by the FAI to compete in the 2013 First Division, which will consist of eight clubs. The return of the harbour club is a welcome development for the Airtricity League, after they failed to meet the first division criteria on previous occasions due to financial issues. The decision paves the

way for an eight-team First Division subject to licences being issued when the committee meet again in mid-February after the January 30 deadline for final financial submissions from other clubs.
