SHANE DUGGAN looks set to return for the suspended Colin Healy as Cork City chase a place in the Setanta Cup final at Turner’s Cross tonight (7.30pm), writes NOEL SPILLANE. City face Shamrock Rovers in their televised semi-final second leg with the tie nicely balanced at 1-1 after the first leg at Tallaght last week. “We are looking forward to the game, and I suppose, after Friday’s draw with Shels, it cannot come quick enough,” said City’s Tommy Dunne. “We obviously have a slight advantage, in that we are the home

SOCCER team and we have the away goal, but we still know that it is a very tough game. “We will be doing everything in our power to get into the final, but we need to make sure that we pick ourselves up after Friday’s heartbreaking draw with Shelbourne,” he added. City have slight concerns over the fitness of Daryl Horgan (hamstring), Danny Murphy (hamstring) and John Dunleavy (ill) but Healy will be a big loss in the middle of the park. ● See P45 for more.

CORK will face Galway in the All-Ireland U21 final on Saturday week in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick at 7pm, after a thrilling victory over Cavan. The Rebels had to withstand a fightback from the Ulster champions in the closing stages, and after leading by six points, eventually prevailed 0-15 to 1-11 courtesy of a Dan Mac Eoin free. In the decider John Cleary’s side take on Galway who shocked favourites Kildare 2-10 to 2-5 in the other semi-final. The Tribe perviously beat the Cork U21s in the 2011 semi, going on to lift the All-Ireland. Cork selector Brian Herlihy believes there will be little between the sides. “In a final anything can happen. Galway play a nice brand of football and I think the cup is there for the taking for either team. “Our guys had shown a bit of grit all year and they need to do that again against Galway. Galway were 3/1 against Kildare. Ridiculous odds.” Herlihy, Cleary, Michael Linehan and Mick O’Loughlin have been involved at U21 level since 2004, while Donal McCarthy joined as selector in ’08 after former manager Tony Leahy’s depar-

Dohenys clubman Herlihy feels this group of Cork players have the right attitude to be crowned champions. “They’ve shown great resilience, and one thing is that different fellas perform better on any given day. Alan Cadogan was man of the match against Tipperary and now Mark Sugrue.” Cork’s win over Cavan means a number of changes to the first round of the club section of the SFC, with the majority of matches postponed until May 11-12. ● See P48-53 for more.
