ROBBIE KEANE marked his record 126th cap for Ireland by bagging a hat-trick in the World Cup qualifying win over the Faroe Islands in Dublin last night. The 32 year-old Tallaght-born striker netted in the fourth, 55th and 80th minutes of a one-sided contest against the group minnows before over 30,000 fans at the Aviva Stadium. It was a perfect start for the Republic and Keane, who passed Shay Given to become the country's most capped player and capped the occasion with a memorable hat-trick.
