Speaking to the Democrat yesterday, his mother revealed how her son got out of the car before unhooking his baby sister’s car seat and lifting it out. The teenager then carried his sister - wearing only her pyjamas - back towards the filling station, before a member of the public picked up the children and took them back to their mother. Their mother, who is from Burren, said she feared the worst. “It was such a bad night, and when it’s raining like that the water just lies on the carriageway, “ she said. CONTINUED ON PAGE TWO
