BANE SELECTED IN THE FIRST ROUND

Desmond Bane became the 18th TCU player ever to be taken in the NBA Draft when he was selected 30th overall by the Boston Celtics in a proposed trade to the Memphis Grizzlies. Bane was the first TCU player taken in the first round since Kurt Thomas in 1995.
BANE SHINES IN ROOKIE SEASON
Desmond Bane was on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team to cap off a dazzling debut season with the Memphis Grizzlies. Bane averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in just over 22 minutes per game in his debut NBA season. He shot 43.2 percent from 3-point range, the best among all rookies.
MOEHRIG, WALLOW SELECTED IN NFL DRAFT
For the 13th time in the last 16 seasons, the Horned Frogs had multiple draft picks as safety Trevon Moehrig was selected in the second round by the Las Vegas Raiders and linebacker Garret Wallow was taken in the fifth round by the Houston Texans. Signing free-agent contracts were tight end Artayvious Lynn (Dallas Cowboys), safety Ar'Darius Washington (Baltimore Ravens) and tight end Pro Wells (Cincinnati Bengals).
RYAN DRAFTED SIXTH OVERALL
Yazmeen Ryan made program history when she was selected sixth overall in the NWSL Draft by Portland Thorns FC. It was the highest selection ever for a TCU player and the second in program history to be drafted.
TCU was one of six schools with NBA and NFL first round draft picks in 2020. TCU joined USC as the only schools with first round picks in the NBA, NFL and NWSL.
DALTON BACK IN DFW
Among the many Horned Frogs making their mark in the 2020 NFL campaign was Andy Dalton, as he returned to the DFW Metroplex and started nine games at quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Wide receiver Jalen Reagor was also a starter in his rookie season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
BARJON EARNS TOUR CARD
Through great success on the Korn Ferry Tour, Paul Barjon earned his PGA Tour card and will begin as a rookie on the tour next season.
LODOLO PLAYS IN MLB FUTURES GAME
Nick Lodolo pitched a scoreless inning in the 2021 MLB Futures Game that took place during All-Star Weekend at Coors Field in Denver, Colo.
STANFORD NAMED TO HALL OF FAME
Angela Stanford, the only four-time AllAmerican in TCU Women's Golf history, was selected to the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. Stanford has seven career LPGA victories, including the 2018 Evian Championship for her first major title. She won the Volunteers of America Classic this past December.
BAKER BREAKS TEXAS RELAYS RECORD
Twelve-time All-American and 2020 Olympian Ronnie Baker broke the 29-year-old Texas Relays record with a time of 9.94 in the 100m.
NORRIE HAS BREAKOUT SEASON
Cam Norrie had his best season as a professional, rising to a top 30 world ranking, the best of his career. He is just one of five players on the ATP Tour to have reached at least the third round in each of the last four major tournaments. Norrie reached three ATP finals this season after reaching one in his previous four seasons on tour.
