of the pack manufactured. At the shrink tunnel outlet a conveyor connects the tunnel belt to the conveyor system of the production line, ensuring a proper thermal transition of the pack thanks to a ventilation device.

New blow-moulder EBS K ERGON: SMI solution devoted to Industry 4.0 At Interpack 2017 SMI exhibited the world premiere of the new compact blowmolder EBS K ERGON in ECOBLOC® version as well as an electronic volumetric filler.

Since 1987 SMI has been developing cutting-edge projects and technologies, in order to offer turn-key bottling lines and flexible, ergonomic, efficient packaging

machines, increasingly inspired by the concepts of Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT).

Based on the technical innovations of the stretch blow-molders of the EBS ERGON series (Electronic Blowing System), SMI engineers have developed a new series of very compact rotary machines, called EBS K ERGON (“K” refers to the German word “Kompakt”), suitable for outputs up to 8.800 bottles/hour. The new models, available in 2-, 3- and 4-cavity versions, offer all advantages of the rotary technology, with an output range traditionally controlled by linear blow-molders (from 3-4.000 to 8-9.000 bottles/hour); thanks to the state-of-the-art solutions, the EBS K ERGON series can produce PET containers up to 3 litres with a maximum output of 2200 bottles/hour per cavity for the 0,5-liter format.

The plants consist of one or more flocculators of different size, entirely built in stainless steel Aisi 304, featuring a cone-shaped bottom for a perfect discharge of ricotta.

The particular steam injection system and the bottom with central discharge enable correct agitation of the whey as to get maximum yield.

The bottom and sides of the flocculator are insulated; it features inspection hatch on the ceiling and efficient washing system.

By building all connections for the inflows of technologic additives, for temperature control, level control and more, Priamo Food Technologies designs all its flocculators to be fully automated.

As well as being provided with gangway and stairs, the flocculators are also equipped with control board according to customer’s specific requirements.

The company proposes the following two solutions, with different automation level, for the draining and drying phases.

The first solution sees a draining tank, single or double, under the flocculator; inside the tank there is a hopper with a pump to transfer the product. Moreover, it can also be provided with a lid for C.I.P. washing.

The second solution sees a stainless steel AISI 304 tunnel with inside belt for the draining and drying of the product. The structure of the tunnel, with inspection

hatches, enables C.I.P. washing of the belt (made in non-toxic, micropore plastic material) and easy ordinary washing.

The belt feeding system features an automatic compensation system of thermal expansion of the same belt, as well as regulation of the feeding speed by means of a static frequency converter.

An electro-pump for the transfer of the product and a pump for the transfer of the curd whey are installed in the tunnel.

In the end, the ricotta is transferred to one or more mixers where it can be added with other components before the homogenization and packaging phases that follow.

Robotics and synergies 2016 was full of innovation and modernization, expanding the range of automatic solutions for end of line equipment including case packing units; carton in packing with serial robotic handling; delta robots and two-axis robotic systems. GEA Ariete homogenizer 5400: much more than a simple homogenizer GEA Ariete Homogenizer 5400 has the biggest capacity in the world (80,000 liters per hour at 120 bar) and the greatest versatility to handle any application in the dairy, food & beverage, pharma and chemical industries.

After studying the market, it became clear that customers, particularly those in the food and dairy industry, needed bigger, more powerful, more efficient homogenizers if they were going to keep up with demand while fulfilling their environmental responsibilities.

Ariete Homogenizer 5400 is more economic: by using one homogenizer, where two would have been necessary before, operators can save on power, maintenance, spare parts, and reduced footprint.

Furthermore, GEA was able to make the Ariete Pump 5400 7 % more efficient in its use of power (2.8 kilowatt to pasteurize 1,000 liters of milk compared with three kilowatt for other comparable machines) when used with the high-efficiency GEA NanoVALVE. All of this coupled with the possibility to install GEA high efficiency options such as NiSoPURE, NanoVALVE and OPS allows further savings in production costs (power, water, oil).

The design of its liquid end allows easy product flow not only for milk, but also for viscous and high total solid dairy by-products. It is possible to allocate the machine to other product lines for different applications (e.g. from low viscous to high viscous products), just by replacing the pumping valves, without substituting the compression block or the machine.

Ariete Homogenizer 5400 is also available with a smaller, 315 kilowatt motor (Ariete Homogenizer 5315). These two models will replace the former Ariete NS5355 and Ariete NS5250 and take their place at the head of the GEA homogenizer range.

The main utilization fields of the company machineries are: • dairy industries (milk, cream, cheese, yoghurt, caseinates, proteins, soya milk, etc.); • ice-cream industries; • food, processing, preserving and beverage industries (fruit juices, tomato sauces, oil, ketchup, eggs, vegetable greases, emulsions, concentrates, baby food, etc.); • cosmetic, pharmaceutical, chemical and petrolchemical industries (starch, cellulose, wax, colorants, beauty creams, tooth paste, detergents, disinfectants, emulsions, inks, latex, lotions, emulsifiers oils, pigments, proteins, resins, vitamins, etc.).

But what about the homogenizing principle? In order to permanently mix one or more substances in a liquid, a homogenizer must be used in such a way as to make it possible to micronize and disperse the suspended particles in the fluid, rendering it highly stable even during successive treatments and storage.

The product reaches the homogenizing valve at a low speed and at high pressure. As it passes through the valve, it is subject to various forces that cause the micronization of the particles: violent acceleration followed by immediate deceleration causes cavitation with explosion of the globules, intense turbulence

together with high-frequency vibrations, impact deriving from the laminar passage between the homogenizing valve surfaces and consequent collision with impact ring.

Homogenization can occur with the use of a single stage homogenizing valve (suitable for dispersion treatment), or double stage homogenizing valve (recommended for use with emulsions and for viscosity control when requested).

FBF Italia’s range of machines can be commonly classified as follows: • high pressure homogenizers: The homogenizer is often necessary to mix one or more substances within a liquid. This machine allows micronizing and scattering the particles suspended in the fluid, so that the product becomes highly stable, no matter the followings treatments and storage the product may undergo. The “Buffalo Series” homogenizers are manufactured according to the UE directives and are available with capacity ranging from 50 up to 50.000 litres/hour; according to the products to be processed, the requested pressure may vary up to 2.000 bars (29.000 psi) • positive displacement pumps: these pumps are used to transfer the products from a storage system or process one to a further part of the plant at a high pressure. These machines are commonly used for feeding of spray driers, tomato paste plants, osmosis plants, etc.

• laboratory homogenizers: manufactured to replicate the same homogenization conditions that can be expected in a real production process these machines offer the possibility to execute tests up to very high pressure (1500 bar) and do not need of any other device to work. Easy to use and to move, with the highest reliability, is the best choice for keeping the production always under control.

• positive displacement pumps for product containing particles: these pumps are mainly used for product containing particles with a max. sizes of 15x15x15 mm such as tomato cubes, vegetable or fruit pieces.

The construction of such a machine is much the same as the homogenizers, except for the compression head which is equipped with special pneumatically controlled valve groups.

Stretch focus In the field of stretch applications COMAG provides innovative solutions capable of applying elastic labels

at speeds of up 54,000 BPH. Ideal solutions for milk containers, bottles that require full body labeling. absolute innovation is the realization of multipacks machines that allow the realization of packs by means of stretch sleeves applications, enabling significant savings of materials, space and energy consumption.

The synergy of R&D of COMAG, Maca and Jolly Plastic departments also makes possible the progressive and continuous development of both the materials of the application systems that make the up to date technology offerings and to obsolescence proof.

In order to ensure the proper functioning of the installations of the customer we are offered a fullservice package which covers the correct operation of the machines and the continuous maintenance.

Shrink focus As shrink applications, there are two solutions: 1. Isla, an innovative rotary shrink system integrated into the central rotor that allows inserting a machine over 54.000 bph in only linear space of 2 meters, while for a comparable system linear 10-12 meters are necessary. The traditional shrink tunnel is replaced by a series of cylinders mounted on the labeling machine carousel, in which a steam jet under pressure that realizes the perfect and immediate retraction of the sleeve on the container is injected; in addition to

making the very compact machine, this conception also allows obtaining remarkable advantages with respect to traditional systems with in-line tunnel.

The required quantity of steam is up to 10 times less than the traditional steam tunnel and is directly proportional to the speed of production. It is not necessary and preheating is not needed, consumed steam as the machine is in stand-by; Moreover, the system also guarantees the absence of steam in the working dispersions.

The label positioning is extremely accurate on empty or full containers with an application moving container itself progressive and mechanically determined. There are no brushes or other elements to influence the positioning of the label: a mobile cursor operated by a mechanical cam determines in a precise way the final position of the label on the container which is maintained also during the retraction phase, immediately following.

The achievement of full production after a format change is immediate, since each container has its own retraction cylinder specially designed according to its purpose. Thanks to this and after normal format change operations, the machine is immediately ready to go into production without further adjustments. Finally, a guarantee for a healthier work environment, there were no steam leaks from the machine.

2. SKY model designed for applying shrink sleeves to thermoformed cups, typically used for yoghurt, creamy probiotic products, beverages, etc. The system applies and thermoshrinks labels, in almost contemporary moments, so as to expose to the vapour products for an extremely short time. The machine can also apply labels to groups of jars joined together and therefore particularly suitable for use in installations with FFS machines (form-fill-seal).

SWAN new short-pipe electro-pneumatic isobaric fillers are AVE Technologies’ latest novelty standing out for their special features of functionality and construction quality.

These plants are suitable for throughput up to 80,000 bottle/h and are engineered upon “clean design” philosophy; in addition, stainless steel materials are also used to produce all component.

External pressurized tank is equipped with a variable speed restart pump for overall control on the pressure of the filling head.

The machine manages three different process gases, such as: pure CO2 at filling pressure; CO2 impure from the bottle during low pressure isobaric filling phase to vacuum wash the bottles and pressurization, and vacuum making for bottle predischarge and decompression.

The modular isobaric valve runs at two filling speeds and is provided with short or long pipe to perform filling from the bottom.

A dome-shaped board is used to convey the bottles and ease water and glass shards drainage. Modular structure with clockwise and anticlockwise configuration.

Setting for rinser and screw capper, or crown capper as an alternative in case of simultaneous us of more cappers. Board handling of bottle conveying by means of synchronized brushless motor with main motor of the filling carrousel.

Bottle synchronizing screw runs with fix centre with the varying of the diameter of the bottles, and it is mounted on a tilting structure as to ease change of formats. Stars and bottle guiding equipment are in stainless steel while wear outline is in rubber as to ease the cleaning of the handling system.

A very large producer of canned goods has recently upgraded its production line with Atlanta machines chosen for their reliability and flexibility. The first shrink-wrap ATLANTA machine receives cans from an upstream machine and collates them, in double or triple lane, into a single layer multipack which is then shrink wrapped. “BLENDSYSTEM M” Premix Unit The growing market’s confidence gained by process plants manufactured by WS, allowed a continuous development of blending technology for carbonated soft drinks (CSD) production to such an extent that We reached a very high level of specialisation in manufacturing mass controlled blending systems, named BLENDSYSTEM M. BLENDSYSTEM M is a piece of equipment for preparing beverages, completely preassembled on a skid for an easy and quick shipment and installation, conceived mostly for the production of carbonated soft drinks (CSD), but also carbonated mineral water (CMW) and still water (charged with nitrogen in order to increase the mechanical resistance of the bottle). The required quantity of ingredients (water, syrup, and CO2) is carefully measured and dosed in an electronically controlled continuous process.

The whole system, realized to guarantee the highest qualitative standards and a qualitatively constant production, also running in conditions of considerable format change, is completely preassembled on stainless steel circular-section skid for an easy and efficacious cleaning. It usually includes the following subsystems: • inlet water deaeration: a vacuum pump removes incondensable gases; the pump is conceived to maintain the dissolved oxygen level below 1 ppm values; • carbon dioxide dosing (or nitrogen in case of still mineral water production): a modulating valve and a mass flow rate transmitter inject carbon dioxide in quantity that is proportional to water quantity loaded to the deaeration tank; the water flow rate is usually measured by a magnetic flow rate transmitter, which may be replaced with a mass flow rate transmitter in case water presents a very low electrical conductivity level. A special gas injecting and mixing system - specifically developed

by WS - performs a careful mixing with the water to be treated and, hence, best results in terms of product perlage; the carbon dioxide contents is

maintained constant in the product receiving tank by a supervising software, which checks possible fluctuations in feeding water temperature and product buffer temperature; the effective dissolved carbon dioxide contents in the product is checked using a carbometric unit, installed in by-pass on the filling machine feeding line; • syrup dosing and mixing: at first syrup is stored in a small buffer tank, whose atmosphere is modified and enriched with carbon dioxide in order to avoid oxidation occurrence. Syrup injection is made by a sanitary design modulating valve and a mass flow rate transmitter in a quantity which is proportional to the water amount fed from the deaeration tank; furthermore, using the mass flow rate transmitter, it is possible to check constantly the effective density of the inlet syrup and therefore to compensate immediately for the dosing and to stabilize the sugary concentration in the end-product within established bounds (usually ±0,05 °Bx). A specific refractometer installed in by-pass on the filling machine feeding line, allows the constant check of the product and, if necessary, its adjustment;

similarly, the instruments minimize waste of both syrup and product during transitory phases of production, such as start and stop.

Furthermore, customized solutions for product cooling are also available, depending on the environmental conditions of the system installation.

The supervising software loaded on the mass premix unit - BLENDSYSTEM M - is conceived to guarantee the best results in terms of dosing, offering at the same time an easy control by a friendly user interface; this software enables on one hand to set the main production parameters and visualize their state graphically and on the other hand to set the statistics parameters (ca, cp e cpk) connected to that kind of production.

Using a more advanced version of this software, associated with specific instruments, it is also possible to control automatically saccharose inversion, so that the need of intervention by laboratory technicians is reduced.

The equipment is equipped with field buses (MPI, Profibus or Ethernet) for a complete integration in the bottling line and the control of production, cleaning and sanitizing processes.

مستمر في ظروف تغيير الشكل التي تكون صعبة إلى حد ما‪ ،‬وقد جُ مع بالكامل في هيكل ذو قطاع‬ ‫دائري من الصلب الذي ال يصدأ بما يضمن تنظيفه بسهولة وكفاءة وهو يتكون عادة من األنظمة الفرعية التالية‪:‬‬ ‫ إزالة الهواء المذاب في ماء المدخل (أو النيتروجين في حالة إنتاج مياه الشرب غير الغازية)‪ :‬تزيل مضخة التفريغ الغازات غير القابلة للتكثيف وهو ما يضمن أن‬‫يكون مستوى األكسيجين المذاب بقيم أقل ‪ 0.5‬جزء في المليون في حالة إزالة الهواء على مرحلتين)؛‬ ‫ معايرة ثاني أكسيد الكربون‪ :‬يحقن صمام التعديل وناقل تدفق الكتلة ثاني أكسيد الكربون على نحو متناسب مع الهواء المنقول من خزان إزالة الهواء‪ ،‬ويقاس تدفق‬‫الماء باستخدام ناقل تدفق مغناطيسي؛‬ ‫ أحد أنظمة الحقن والخلط للغاز التي طورتها شركة دبليو أس على وجه الخصوص‪ ،‬والتي تسمح بالخلط الدقيق مع المياه التي ستخضع للمعالجة بما يضمن الحصول‬‫على نتائج ممتازة؛ وبالتالي‪ ،‬يظل معدل ثاني أكسيد الكربون المذاب ً‬ ‫ثابتا في خزان استالم المنتج بفضل برمجيات اإلشراف التي تتحكم في التقلبات المحتملة في‬ ‫درجات الحرارة عند التغذية بالماء أو تخزين المنتج نفسه‪ ،‬ويتم التحقق من تركيز ثاني أكسيد الكربون المذاب بفاعلية عن طريق وحدة بارومترية مركبة على خط‬ ‫التغذية الخاص بماكينة التعبئة؛‬ ‫ معايرة العصير وخلطه‪ :‬يحقن صمام تعديل صحي ومقياس لتدفق الكتلة العصير‪ ،‬الذي غذى مبدئيًا في خزان صغير ذو مجال جوي معدل ومغذى بثاني أكسيد‬‫الكربون لتالفي أي ظاهرة من ظواهر األكسدة‪ ،‬بطريقة متناسبة مع كمية المياه المنقولة من خزان نزع الهواء؛ كما يسمح مقياس تدفق الكتلة ً‬ ‫أيضا بالتحقق من الكثافة‬ ‫الفعالة للعصير الداخل باستمرار‪ ،‬بما يسمح بمعادلة المعايرة وبتحقيق االستقرار في تركيز السكر بالمنتج النهائي‪ ،‬في نطاق الحدود الموضوعة لهذا األمر؛ وبالمثل‪،‬‬ ‫في حالة إنتاج المشروبات الخاصة بالحمية الغذائية‪ ،‬يسمح جهاز قياس االنكسار بإدارة عملية حقن العصير على نحو مثالي حتى في حالة حدوث تقلبات في تركيز‬ ‫المنتج الواصل من غرفة العصائر؛ ويسمح جهاز قياس انكسار آخر‪ ،‬مركب على خط تغذية آلة التعبئة‪ ،‬بالتحقق من المنتج باستمرار وتصحيحه إذا كان ذلك ضروريًا؛‬ ‫وبالمثل‪ ،‬تسمح المعدات بتقليل الفاقد من العصير والمنتج أثناء المراحل االنتقالية للتشغيل واإليقاف بما يسمح أن تصل نسبة معايرة المياه‪ -‬العصير إلى ‪.1:1‬‬ ‫كما تتوافر ً‬ ‫أيضا حلول مخصصة لتبريد المنتج‪ ،‬تُصمم بالقياسات التي يطلبها العميل مع أخذ الظروف البيئية المحيطة بعملية التركيب في الحسبان‪.‬‬ ‫صممت برمجيات بريمكس للكتلة المسماة "‪ "BLENDSYSTEM M‬لضمان الحصول على أفضل النتائج من حيث المعايرة مع سهولة اإلدارة في الوقت ذاته‬ ‫وقد ُ‬ ‫بفضل واجهة الماكينة سهلة االستخدام؛ حيث يسمح البرنامج بتسجيل بارامترات اإلنتاج وبعرضها بيانيًا كما يسمح ً‬ ‫أيضا بحساب البارامترات اإلحصائية وتسجيلها‬ ‫‪.ca, cp e cpk‬‬

‫الجهاز مزود بناقالت بيانات نطاقية (‪ ،MPI‬أو ‪ ،Profibus‬أو ‪ )Ethernet‬للدمج الكامل في خط التعبئة‪ ،‬وإدارة عمليات اإلنتاج‪ ،‬وأنظمة التنظيف في المكان‪.‬‬
