AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES Automation Development for Autonomous Mobility is a cross-cutting initiative led by BOEING Research & Technology Europe to develop critical technologies for autonomous mobile systems. As part of land application (as well as air and sea applications), TECNALIA in association with AZKAR, MASER, FICOSA and ELECNOR-DEIMOS is developing technology for autonomous land vehicles.
INFRASTRUCTURES PROMOTING THE ADOPTION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES New planning tools for European distribution operators focused on massive roll-out of optimised electro-mobility and maximising distributed power generation integration. The aim is to develop structures and capabilities to ensure conformity, interoperability and performance of smart charging systems of electric vehicles.
LOW-CARBON ENERGY Energy “De-carbonation” means reducing fossil fuel dependency and mitigating climate change, and is nowadays a major challenge for the current energy system. This requires increasing the renewable energy percentage, improving energy efficiency, smartly managing energy sources, maximising supply quality and safety while reducing costs. MARINE OFFSHORE SELF-INSTALLING SUB-STATION OF LARGE DIMENSIONS Marin-el is a new marine substation model for offshore energy exploitation. The aim is to develop an offshore self-installing light electrical sub-plant which can be fully mounted on land with the backing of the Basque Government and led by Iberdrola Ingeniería with the co-operation of Ingeteam, Ormazábal, Arteche, Construcciones Navales del Norte, Semantic, the Energy Cluster and Foro Marítimo Vasco.

INTEGRATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN THE EUROPEAN POWER GRID IGREENGrid aims to increase the European energy distribution grid capacity to house distributed renewable energy sources without jeopardising its reliability or its supply quality.

Development of initiatives based on assistive technology such as sensors enabling monitoring a person’s activities and habits, and identifying any changes which may be symptoms of disorders related to neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.
RECOVERY OF STROKE PATIENTS Motor recovery of upper limb paralysis, as a result of a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) using the brain-machine interface. The aim is for the patient to be able to move and control movements in the paralysed limb naturally, recovering autonomy and functional independence levels.

Through our “smart bracelets” we have created a safe ecosystem for transactions, accesses and identification in a customisable way to enhance the customer’s services experience and for easy integration with information and CRM systems.

Membranes based on Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF) and polymers for energy efficient and environmentally friendly CO2 capture processes. These membranes enable continuous gas separation processes, higher energy efficiency and a significantly reduced carbon footprint, as the change of gas-liquid phase is no longer required.
